1. Secret Government report warns over 48 British Islamic schools are teaching intolerance and misogyny to future imams

Young imams are being trained in a network of Islamic schools across the UK that have been accused of promoting intolerance and misogyny, a secret Government report has warned.

 

The report claims preachers emerging from some of the dozens of Darul Uloom madrasas scattered across Britain have views as extreme as those held by radical clerics who move to the UK from Islamic countries – and may spread them to worshippers.

 

The Mail on Sunday has identified 48 Darul Ulooms – which can be translated as House of Knowledge – that follow a strict syllabus called Dars-E-Nizami.

I’d like to take a moment to contradict the probably phoney outrage of the Sacramento State president Robert S. Nelsen. In fact, the ability to speak your truth anonymously in the US is a court tested foundation of the first amendment. Imagine if you had to show your identity whenever you spoke your truth. You would be a target of every thug who’s interests you threaten. This is why the very concept of hate speech is anathema. And the right to speak your mind even anonymously is a critical and foundational right.

Not to say these methods are worthy of approval. speaking your truth anonymously does not give the right to turn every event into your own platform. But I object to Nelson’s obscene misunderstanding of what it is to have a free society. Endorsing “hate speech” laws means you endorse a Stalinesque society. One that however ironically, major private corporations are heading us towards and Bolshevik revolutionary speeds.

In any case, I think this was a Smollett. It smacks of unreality.

A man was attacked after reportedly yelling “Israel” several times at an event marking the Palestinian Nakba, which commemorates the displacement of Palestinians after the creation of Israel, on Saturday in Berlin. A group of Palestine supporters could be seen pushing and beating the man on the face and body, until they were separated and police officers arrived at the scene.

 

The event started early morning in Berlin’s Neukoelln district with music and dance performances on stage, food stands and several posters from the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign, including signs against the Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Tel Aviv this year.

 

Police could be seen removing a poster accusing the Eurovision Song Contest of “art-washing apartheid” after a complaint was lodged by Green Party politician Volker Beck. On Twitter, the politician labelled the commemoration a “political event through-and-through” as opposed to a folklore event that it had been registered as. Nakba Day – or the “Day of the Catastrophe” commemorates the exile of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians at the formation of the State of Israel in 1948.

ANSA) – Bologna, May 3 – A 28-year-old Italian woman of Moroccan origin was barred from a gym at Mirandola near Modena on Friday because she was wearing a veil.

2. Christian persecution ‘at near genocide levels’

The persecution of Christians in parts of the world is at near “genocide” levels, according to a report ordered by Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt.

 

The review, led by the Bishop of Truro the Right Reverend Philip Mounstephen, estimated that one in three people suffer from religious persecution.

Christians were the most persecuted religious group, it found.

 

Mr Hunt said he felt that “political correctness” had played a part in the issue not being confronted.

The interim report said the main impact of “genocidal acts against Christians is exodus” and that Christianity faced being “wiped out” from parts of the Middle East.

 

It warned the religion “is at risk of disappearing” in some parts of the world, pointing to figures which claimed Christians in Palestine represent less than 1.5% of the population, while in Iraq they had fallen from 1.5 million before 2003 to less than 120,000.

4. Sri Lanka: Ban on face-veil risks stigmatizing Muslim women

Responding to Sri Lanka’s emergency regulations imposing a ban on clothing that conceals the face, Amnesty International’s Deputy South Asia Director, Dinushika Dissanayake, said:

 

“At a time when many Muslims in Sri Lanka fear a backlash, imposing a ban that effectively targets women wearing a face veil for religious reasons risks stigmatizing them. They will be forced out of public spaces to stay at home and will be unable to work, study or access basic services. The ban violates their rights to non-discrimination, freedom of expression and religion.

 

“Where there are legitimate security concerns, the authorities can carry out identity checks when objectively necessary. It is important that the state provides measures that comply with human rights. Women have a right to choose how they dress, whatever their beliefs. Forcing women to take off the face-veil is coercive and humiliating.”

7. Australian prime minister rejects candidate’s Islam posts

Australia’s prime minister said his Liberal Party rejected the anti-Muslim views of an electioncandidate who on Friday became the third to lose the conservative party’s endorsement in as many days over social media postings.

 

The scandals surrounding candidates have become distractions for Prime Minister Scott Morrison and opposition leader Bill Shorten as they attempt to focus voters on policies ahead of the May 18 election. Candidates for both the Liberal Party and the center-left Labor Party opposition quit on Friday over their online pasts.

 

Morrison had stood by Jessica Whelan, a Liberal candidate for the House of Representatives in Tasmania state, amid accusations on Thursday she made anti-Muslim posts on social media. Morrison said screenshots of Whelan’s comments appeared to have been doctored and a complaint had been made to police.
