(CNN) — Stoning remains the way Iranians — overwhelmingly women — are punished for committing adultery, Human Rights Watch said Monday. The international group blasted a judicial council in Iraq, made up of 12 religious jurists, for inserting a stoning provision into a draft law where it had been previously removed.

Last November, security agents with the country’s judiciary moved the bodies of four women who had been stoned to the Tehran medical examiner’s office, according to reports on the Melli-Mazhabi site, which opposed Iran’s government, the U.S. State Department says. CNN cannot confirm the reports.

According to the State Department’s report, the unconfirmed accounts say the women’s bodies had facial wounds that indicated torture, beatings and stoning.

Afghanistan lawmakers cite religion in blocking legislation to protect women

Afghanistan lawmakers cite religion in blocking legislation to protect women

Lawmakers in Afghanistan have blocked legislation proposing a minimum marriage age for girls, and women not being prosecuted for rapes committed against them. Some said such laws might encourage sex outside of marriage.

Failure to pass the law highlights how tenuous women’s rights remain a dozen years after the US-led war led to the overthrow of the Taliban, which kept women virtual prisoners in their homes. Khalil Ahmad Shaheedzada, a conservative lawmaker for the Herat province, said parliament withdrew the legislation because of opposition from religious parties that considered the law un-Islamic.

“Whatever is against Islamic law, we don’t even need to speak about it,” Shaheedzada said.

Using executive authority, President Hamid Karzai had created the Law on Elimination of Violence Against Women in 2009. Parliament would eventually have to endorse it, however – or not.

‘These ideas’

The law would have criminalized domestic violence and protected victims from themselves facing criminal charges after men had raped them and banned “baad,” which allows for the commercial exchange of women to settle disputes. Religious representatives objected to more than half a dozen parts of the legislation, including a minimum marriage age of 16 for girls and supporting shelters for women whose husbands had abused them.

Australian TV: You may get jailed for being raped in Dubai

The really amazing thing is that Australian Legacy media is actually dealing with something that is true. I guess its getting harder to sell fiction when you just have to look out your own window to know the truth of Islam.

That’s a year for every 26 stabs. Majed, a 17-year-old Iraqi immigrant, stabbed his sister Maria to death inflicting 107 wounds with two knives and a pair of scissors.

The Court also established that the brother on more than one occasions before the murder intimidated his sister and called her demeaning epithets like whore and slut.

His sister had returned to Landskrona after she broke up from a forced marriage in Iraq. She was found dead in his apartment in Landskrona on the evening of 23 April, the day after her birthday.

The Guarantee Clause: Congress’ Duty to Oppose Theocracy in the United States

It would seem Newt Gingrich is taking the Islamic threat to Western values much more seriously than he used to.

From Bill warner’s excellent website:

by Robert M. Petrusak

[Editor’s note: New Gingrich has called for a Federal ban on Sharia law in America.]

Theocracy is inherently oppressive and contrary to America’s core values. It regards God as the sovereign and source of law. It therefore places the coercive power of the state–including interpretation and enforcement of law–in the hands of believers. It excludes non-believers from the body politic and brings them suffering. In total contrast, the Declaration of Independence regards God not as a source of coercive power, but as a guarantor of inalienable rights including liberty and equality. The Declaration states that government derives its sovereign authority or “just powers” not from God, but “from the consent of the governed.” This concept of popular sovereignty is reflected not only in the preamble of the Constitution, but also in the “Guarantee Clause” of Article IV, Section 4 which obligates the federal government to preserve a republican form of government in every state. The Constitution also precludes theocracy through the First Amendment’s ban on laws respecting establishments of religion or prohibiting “free exercise” of religious beliefs.

Political Islam or “Islamism” is theocratic. It may be defined as a belief that Islam should control society and politics, not simply personal religious life. Accordingly to the eminent scholar Bernard Lewis, the ideal Islamic polity recognizes God as sole sovereign and law-giver and assigns believers the task of spreading His revelation until the entire world accepts it. This is to be achieved by extending the authority and membership of the community that follows God’s law, the Shariah, which deals with the acquisition and exercise of power and the duties of ruler and subject. [1] Accordingly, Shariah is not simply a prescription for exercising personal belief through activity such as prayer and diet. It is a system of laws that affects the conduct of both believers and non- believers in Islamic theocracies. More ominously, expansion of the community that regards God as sovereign suggests contraction and disempowerment of the community which does not.

Ghulam is a taxi driver who lives in Blackburn, a once-booming textile town in Lancashire. He has a terrace house near his local mosque (one of 53 in the area), a silver Nissan car and a very complex private life.

For he has so many children that he struggles to remember their names, and five wives from various countries, including Yemen, Egypt, Turkey and his own birthplace, Pakistan.

Ghulam’s latest bride is a shy 20-year-old called Hafeza. He brought her to Britain from Morocco, soon after his 45th birthday earlier this year. They married in an Islamic wedding ceremony called ‘the Nikah’ in her village, with Hafeza’s pleased parents among the guests.

Toronto dad upset he’s not allowed to watch daughter’s swim class

Sharia law is already in Canada. The question is how long till one is punished by the state for  observance of common law.

My guess is that has happened once or twice already.

And if they were truly multicultural, they would fill the pool with sand.

TORONTO – When a single dad signed his nine-year-old daughter up for female-only swim lessons, he didn’t realize he — as a man — was going to be banned from watching her practice.

Chris (who didn’t want his last name published) was shocked when he had the blinds to the viewing area of the Dennis R. Timbrell Recreation Centre pool in Flemingdon Park shut on him and then was told by staffers it was for “religious reasons.”

“I spoke to a staff member and she told me that it’s because of Muslim women, that we’re not allowed to look at them or whatever,” Chris, 38, told the Toronto Sun Friday. “I don’t think religion has a role to play in a public pool.”

Chris said he enrolled his daughter online through the city’s website and registered her for the Ultra Swim 1: Female class – a nine-week course offered for free at the community centre.

Nowhere on the form did it mention that males could not watch the lessons.

So, when he showed up with his child at the pool on March 28 and again on Thursday night, he was confused when told he wasn’t allowed to watch.

“She doesn’t have a lot of friends and I wanted her to swim with girls,” Chris explained. “I don’t know what parent wouldn’t want to watch their child participate. There were other fathers there who weren’t too happy.”

Florida teen tortured for refusing forced marriage

I find it highly offensive when news media report a forced marriage as an arranged one. It is a lot like reporting rape as a weekend at Club Hedonism Jamaica. Not that rape doesn’t happen there of course.

From the youtube page where this lives:

Published on Mar 20, 2013

In Florida, America, a Moslem woman was arrested for burning and abusing her high school daughter for not marrying her cousin in an arraigned marriage.

I don’t understand why Muslims immigrate to Western countries like the USA, UK, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Great Brittan, Denmark, Spain, France, New Zealand, Canada, United Kingdom, United States, Russia and other countries in Europe yet still want to keep their backward Islamic customs and culture?

Maldives girl to get 100 lashes for pre-marital sex

BBC:

By Olivia Lang BBC News

Maldives Rights groups have urged the government to abolish the punishment

A 15-year-old rape victim has been sentenced to 100 lashes for engaging in premarital sex, court officials said.

The charges against the girl were brought against her last year after police investigated accusations that her stepfather had raped her and killed their baby. He is still to face trial.

Prosecutors said her conviction did not relate to the rape case.

Amnesty International condemned the punishment as “cruel, degrading and inhumane”.

Human Rights Abuses Today, Shariah Style

Canada Free Press:

Guest Column Cynthia Yacowar-Sweeney (Bio and Archives)  Monday, March 18, 2013

Last week I wrote about Shariah-style education in Egypt and explained that beating children is religiously mandated in Islam. However, child beating is only one of many horrific human rights abuses religiously sanctioned under Islam, which consists of a primitive and brutal system of laws dating back to the 7th century that are still used to this day. There is no place in the 21st century for Shariah, which is derived from the Koran and the Sunna (the ways or practices of Prophet Mohammed). However, Shariah is on the rise and is being propagated all across the world to supplant Western freedoms with an undemocratic Islamic theocracy.

For a Muslim to deny what the Prophet Mohammed said in a Hadith about hitting children for prayer neglect, or in other Hadiths or Koranic verses, is to deny the Prophet. He cannot be denied because Islamic law derives solely from his life and teachings as ordained by Allah, whose words can never be changed. This is why child beating and other forms of abuse mandated in the Koran or Hadiths will always remain part of Shariah and can never be changed for the strict followers of Islam.

Islamic edicts or Fatwas, such as the one that addresses child beating, are specific, non-binding (in Sunni Islam) directives based on Shariah that should be obeyed by the Mufti’s followers who are typically conditioned to blind obedience under a religion whose very name (Islam) means to submit. However, the meaning of those directives typically expand and enforce a more severe form of observance that sometimes results in death. There are countless cases of Islamic teachers severely beating their students in countries under Shariah and in the West as well.

Re edit of the propaganda piece on British girls being asked to wear Islamic uniforms for a week

One can almost smell the Marxism in this piece. It is exactly as valid as if they told black students in the deep south to wear KKK vestments for a week without telling them anything whatsoever about the Klan or its history in order to create sympathy for the Klan by its victims. Disgusting bordering on criminal.
