Yemen-based branch promises more parcel bombs
HONG KONG/WASHINGTON (Agencies)
The Yemen-based branch of al-Qaeda has vowed to continue attacks against the West such as last month’s cargo plane parcel bombs, in a “strategy of a thousand cuts” that will “bleed the enemy to death”, a monitoring group said.
Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) said the packages it put aboard freight planes bound for the U.S. in late October were never intended to cause mass casualties, but were aimed at creating maximum economic damage.
The group said the parcels, which were intercepted by security officials in Dubai and Britain, were part of “Operation Hemorrhage” a plan that had cost just $4,200 to mount.
This strategy of attacking the enemy with smaller, but more frequent operations is what some may refer to as the strategy of a thousand cuts. The aim is to bleed the enemy to death

Canada is on the cusp of either legalizing polygamy or strengthening the 120-year prohibition against multiple marriage.
That’s what is at stake in the constitutional reference case that will begin Monday in B.C. Supreme Court and is scheduled to last at least until the end of January.
The case will weigh whether Canada’s anti-polygamy law is constitutional. The reference case was initiated by B.C. attorney general Mike de Jong to finally get a clear legal lens through which to examine the fundamentalist Mormon community of Bountiful in southeastern British Columbia.
If Chief Justice Robert Bauman agrees with those in favour of legalization, Canada would be the first country in the developed world to lift the prohibition on multiple marriage. It would be swimming against a tide of criminalization in developing countries in Africa and Asia.
It would also likely be interpreted as Canada putting out a welcome mat for fundamentalist Mormons, who have been largely rooted out of Utah and Arizona and are under attack in Texas, as well as to Muslims, Wiccans and to secular polyamorists. Continue Reading →
Overtime pay at Christmas axed: It discriminates against the other religions, say care home bosses
A chain of care homes is refusing to pay its staff overtime this Christmas – claiming that it would discriminate against other religions.
The firm said it had an ‘ethical belief in equality’ which means it cannot favour Christmas over ‘other religious festivals’.
Staff were told that it would only pay bonuses for bank holidays, which rules out Christmas Day and Boxing Day this year because they fall at the weekend.

Somehow, the Taliban don’t seem to like the Dutch government under the tolerance of Geert Wilders’ PVV. Their speaker for Afghanistan, Zabiullah Mujahid, let it be known that a “Jihadist group” from the little country will be administered, if the anti-Islam policies are forced.
The Basler Zeitung reports:
A Taliban leader is accusing the Netherlands of working on an anti-Islam policy with Geert Wilders. If his policies are advanced, it could lead to an attack.
A commander of the Afghan Taliban has, according to a newspaper report, warned the Netherlands of an attack, if the new government implements the demands of Islam opponent Geert Wilders. “If the Netherlands remain by their anti-Islamic policies or increase their intensity, then they will most certainly be the target of a Jihadist group,” the daily newspaper “Volkskrant” on Monday quoted Zabiullah Mujahid, the official speaker of the Taliban for eastern and northern Afghanistan.
If Wilders successfully “manipulates” the Dutch Parliament “so that it passes more anti-Islam laws, then there is no doubt that Muslims from other countries will become active in order to help their Muslim brothers and sisters,” Mujahid said further. (…)

“Israel is fighting our war”
Even a journalist from a friendly country such as Israel does not escape invasive hands of the security guards who protect Geert Wilders. At the entry point to the interview with Holland’s extreme politician, founder and leader of the anti-Islamic “Party for Freedom” [PVV], bodyguards do not hold back, and run extensive security checks. Time and again they recheck my identity, making sure that I possess nothing that could potentially turn into a weapon.
Wilders, on the other hand, looks disconnected from the security turmoil around him. It seems that he must be used to it. That’s the way it is if you are one of the most threatened persons in the world.
“To tell the truth, yes, I fear for my life,” he admits.
“I am just a man. The danger does not come only from Holland. It is outside too. There are very serious threats from various terror groups, and when one is aware of the extent of the danger, it is only human to think that something bad will happen. But I cannot allow these thoughts to affect my work. If I moderate my voice because of the threats, stop saying what is on my mind, or quit being a politician, those people will have used anti-democratic means, threats and murders to silence others. They will win. I am not going to let them”.
He has reason to fear. His statements against Islam, his demands to stop immigration of Muslims to his country, the building of new mosques or wearing the veil in public — all that did the job. Although in Europe he is recognized as the most prominent leader of the anti-Islam movement, imams in the Muslim world have sentenced him to death. Terror groups promise to murder him — a man who until recently was an obscure politician with hardly any influence, but now, thanks only to his support, a new Dutch government was formed a few weeks ago.
Wilders says aloud what many Dutch and EU citizens probably think, and he pays a very heavy price for that. He lives under around-the-clock tight protection in a “safe house” provided by the Dutch government. He is the only parliamentary representative with an “unknown” home address.
“It is sad that while fighting for my country’s freedom I lost my own,” says Wilders in a special interview for Yedioth. “I have only freedom of speech and thought. Threats to my life prove that my arguments are just. I am sure that if I spoke with criticism about Christianity or Judaism, there would be no such radical response. There would be no demonstrations in Vatican. The Dutch flag would not be burnt. A million and a half people who voted for us in the last elections do not see me as a fascist or a racist.”
In two weeks Wilders is coming for a visit to Israel as a guest of a parliament member Ariel Eldad. He is invited to participate in a conference against the two-state solution.
“Israel is the lighthouse and the only democracy in this backward and dictatorial part of the world,” he proclaims. “Israel is very close to us, to our European identity. Israel fights our war.”

A FAR-right activist has denied attacking a cop as Muslim extremists torched poppies on Remembrance Day.
English Defence League (EDL) founder Stephen Lennon — known by some supporters as Tommy Robinson — was arrested by police in Kensington as the nation stopped to mark the anniversary of Armistice Day.
Around 50 men linked to the EDL had gathered in West London in a counter-protest against a meeting of Islamic group Muslims Against Crusades.
Lennon, 27, of Luton, has pleaded not guilty to assaulting a police officer during clashes with the protesters, who shamefully burned remembrance poppies.
Supporters outside West London Magistrates’ Court today carried banners bearing pictures of Islamic protesters and slogans such as “These traitors should be in court — not Tommy”.
One woman shouted out: “Who’s going to nick the poppy burners?”
Five others associated with the EDL were also arrested during the clashes.
Two Muslim protesters were held for public order offences and one officer was taken to hospital with a head injury.
Lennon was granted unconditional bail and a trial date was set for January 12.

Disturbing conclusions from the U.S.: A senior government official has made astounding statements about the ban on minarets in Switzerland. Before the assembled world press, he explained clearly that the Federal Council was working to overturn the result of the referendum. The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (EDA), according to the “Sonntag” newspaper, reacts with surprise.
In his statement as the head of the Human Rights Division in the U.S. State Department, Michael Posner, told the media the following on Wednesday, when the conversation turned to alleged harassment of Muslims in Western Europe
“The Government of Switzerland – and I’ve spoken repeatedly with their representatives -. Is now working hard to overturn the ban (on minarets.)”
In effect, this meant that Swiss Muslims would again have the right to build minarets, he said, according to the newspaper “Sonntag”.
The Swiss Embassy in Washington would, according to the Journal, not comment on this statement. Behind closed doors, it has been referred to as a likely misunderstanding – because ultimately the Swiss Federal Council does not have the legal means to ignore the result of a valid referendum.
The Swiss Foreign Ministry has learned about Mr. Posner’s statements, responded the spokeswoman Carole Wälti to “Sonntag”. Posner’s comments, that there have been efforts by the Swiss government to lift the ban on minarets, are baseless. There have also been “no talks held with Michael Posner,” added Wälti.
BREAKING: BOMB EXPLODES NEAR EIGHT STORY BUILDING IN MALMÖ SWEDEN
A powerful explosion ripped through a convenience store in the Rosengård area of Malmö on Monday morning.
THE LOCAL: The blast was so powerful that the windows in the property opposite the building were blown out. “It was not fire crackers that were used,” according to a spokesperson at Malmö police.
According to police the explosive was probably placed at the outside of the property, which contained a store combined with a restaurant. Police forensics have begun their inspection of the scene.
It remains unknown who could have been behind the attack. An alarm call came in about the explosion at around 4.30am on Monday and according to police no people were injured.
Police confirmed that there is damage to the building as far up as the third floor in the eight story building where the explosion occurred.
UPDATE: Finnish state broadcaster YLE reports that the blast was so severe that it damaged the top floor above the bakery-restaurant business located in the eight story building.
YLE: The Rosengard district in Malmö, Sweden has been the scene of a powerful explosion on Monday morning, “says Swedish television SVT. Explosion occurred in a small sandwich shop on Bennet Street. Police suspect the explosion was due to a bomb. The explosion was so powerful that the shop windows and other stuff had flown into pieces on the street. Explosion caused the fire alarm at half five in the morning. No one was hurt in the explosion.
According to the police explosives were probably placed outside the shop. Business premises was located on an eight story building where the rooms above the shop (TT: located on the 3rd floor) also suffered damage. The police are doing technical research on the spot. Rosengard is an area with a known bad reputation, which is home to many immigrants.

ONE of Scotland’s foremost terrorism experts has warned the explosion at Gartocharn near Loch Lomond last week may indicate a terrorist attack on Britain is imminent.
Professor David Capitanchik, terror expert from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, told Scotland on Sunday that the blast, which was heard several hundred yards away and has raised the possibility of an al-Qaeda style training camp operating in the area, bore the hallmarks of a test run. “Terrorists get training in Pakistan, or Afghanistan, they get shown the materials and how to put the bombs together. But the critical thing is how to detonate it.” he said. “I would think they were planning for something imminent.”
Forensics officers, including counter-terrorism specialists from the Metropolitan Police and Royal Navy explosives experts, were yesterday still carrying out a fingertip search of the blast area, where it is believed several devices have been recovered.
A wide area has been closed off to the public and, on Friday, Met helicopters with thermal imaging equipment flew over the area. A tree is thought to have snapped in half during the explosion, reported to the police on Wednesday afternoon by a dog walker. Continue Reading →

Children are being taught about Sharia law – which is derived from the Koran – in weekend schools
Children in Britain are being taught brutal Sharia law punishments, including how to hack off a criminal’s hand or foot.
So-called ‘weekend schools’ – which offer the hardline Saudi National Curriculum to Muslim children in the UK – also teach that the penalty for gay sex is execution and that ‘Zionists’ are plotting to take over the world for the Jews.
One set text book challenges youngsters to list the ‘reprehensible’ qualities of the Jews.
Another for six year-olds asks them to answer what happens to someone who dies who is not a believer in Islam. The answer being looked for is ‘hellfire’.
A BBC Panorama investigation, to be screened tonight, identified a network of more than 40 weekend schools teaching around 5,000 children, from age six to 18.

A significant event in France.
The French Defence League, clearly an offshoot of the EDL or English Defence League, has issued a direct statement of intent to stop the regular shows of Muslim primacy in the Barbes district in France.
This means that large groups of organized vigilantes are doing something which as far as I know is unprecedented although perhaps not in the American West.
They are planning to actually enforce important laws against invaders and risk the wrath of the state itself for doing the job the state has chosen to consciously and deliberately neglect and ignore. One law specifically mentioned is the law of separation of church and state, the one mentioned is of 1905.
Other more banal laws might be the ones that guarantee French citizens reasonable access to their own roads and highways and access to and from their own homes, which Muslims have been blocking for years now with the flimsy excuse that they need to pray just then and there and for that amount of time.
The state will now likely take direct and harsh action against the LDF while ignoring the law breakers of the Muslim community, exactly as the British government is doing against the EDL and Tommy Robinson while actually financing various radical groups, in the case of Tower Hamlets, hundreds of millions of pounds sterling.
I predict this will be a volatile situation for any nation.
