The Great Arsenal of Democracy

While we remind ourselves of the nature of totalitarianism, we should also remind ourselves of the brave struggle for liberty and the great arsenal of democracy (four videos).

“There are those who say that the Axis powers would never have any desire to attack the Western hemisphere. That is the same dangerous form of wishful thinking which has destroyed the powers of resistance of so many conquered peoples.” Franklin D. Roosevelt (video two)

“Their strength is growing. It is the strength of men and women who value their freedom more highly than they value their lives… We have no excuse for defeatism.” (video four)

A report from the civil war in England

I don’t know what to make of this guy. Don’t know if he is on the level or what. But based on daily reports I see in the British MSM, some fraction of which we post here on Vlad, I have no reason to doubt the veracity of this report.

Ok some of the mystery of this has been explained to me by a sharp youtube user I speak with occasionally, who goes by dontbendoverforallah. Apparently, there is a campaign by some Muslim organization which is against democracy, and plasters areas including people’s private doors and property, with stickers telling Muslims not to vote. As an additional thought, I would say that is this is done in areas which have a certain percentage of Muslims, its also a method of ethnic cleansing of the non-Muslims.

Here is a link to the page of the group doing the stickering and about which, the person in this video is discussing.

From that website:

One of the main excuses some people use today in attempt to justify the evil act of voting for a person to make law on one’s behalf is that the majority of Muslim scholars say it is allowed to vote, and some even go further saying it is a religious duty
One of the main excuses some people use today in attempt to justify the evil act of voting for a person to make law on one’s behalf is that the majority of Muslim scholars say it is allowed to vote, and some even go further saying it is a religious duty.

This, like every other so-called argument used to justify voting for man to play the role of God and make law, is entirely flawed and can never be used as an excuse to associate partners with Allah by choosing a lawmaker besides Him. There are many places in the Qur’aan in which Allah (SWT) informs us of individuals in the past who were favoured by Him and were given knowledge, yet they abused the knowledge they were given, started to follow their own desires and misled the people.

For example, the Jews and Christians (People of the Book) were accused by Allah of worshipping their rabbis and priests by obeying and following their religious edicts which clearly went against the commands of Allah. Allah (SWT) says in the Qur’aan:

“They (Jews and Christians) took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah (by obeying them in things which they made lawful or unlawful according to their own desires without being ordered by Allah).” (EMQ at-Tawbah, 9:31)

‘Uday bin Haatim used to be a Christian. When he heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) recite the above verse he tried to deny this and responded: “We did not worship them (rabbis and priests).” The Prophet (SAW) replied: “Did they (rabbis and priests) not forbid what Allah permitted and hence you forbade it; and they permitted what Allah forbade and thus you permitted it?” ‘Uday replied “Yes.” The Prophet (SAW) said, “That is how you worshipped them.” After this incident ‘Uday (RA) embraced Islam.

So it can be argued that any Muslim who blindly follows a scholar when he permits what Allah forbids has taken him as a lord and false god besides Allah. Any matter which is clearly forbidden by Allah – such as alcohol, committing shirk (in this case, voting for man to make law), adultery, interest (ribaa), and so forth – cannot be made lawful by scholars. Moreover, one cannot claim on the Day of Judgement that they were merely following their scholars or the majority of people and therefore cannot be blamed for their actions. Allah (SWT) says:

“And those who followed (blindly) will say: “If only we had one more chance to return (to the worldly life), we would disown (declare ourselves as innocent from) them as they have disowned (declared themselves as innocent from) us.” Thus Allah will show them their deeds as regrets for them. And they will never get out of the Fire.” (EMQ al-Baqarah, 2:167)

Furthermore, it is reported in the Sunan of Ibn Maajah that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said: “Verily, what I fear most for my Ummah is misguided Imaams.” There can be no doubt that the misguided Imaams (or scholars) of today are those who allow voting for man-made law by twisting the verses of Allah and Shari’ah principles in order to achieve popularity, maintain their career and please the masses, tyrannical governments and disbelievers.

Funny that Bernard Goetz didn’t get a reward from the judge and the admiration of the court. I wonder why. I mean I know its another country but the US is famous for its admiration of those that defend themselves from criminals. Yet Goetz’s life has been hell ever since he defended himself from a gang of New York City muggers even up to yet another law suit by the people who tried to mug him within the past couple of years. Could it possibly be the racial hierarchy so well defined in modern identity politics?

Pictured: The moment gun-wielding robber faced 18-stone have-a-go hero… and was battered with a chair

Confronted by a desperate robber carrying a handgun, most of us would simply get out of the way.

But not 48-year-old Martin Richardson. He’s 18-stone and powerfully built.

What’s more, at the time of this dramatic standoff, he was in a bad mood.

As these extraordinary CCTV pictures show, raider Azar Sulman quite simply picked on the wrong guy.

Father-of-six Mr Richardson stood his ground with his hands in his pockets before attacking Sulman, 20, with a chair.

After flooring the raider, Mr Richardson used a judo move to pin him to the ground and kept him there for seven minutes until police arrived.

Judge Scott Wolstenholme praised the have-a-go hero’s ‘tremendous courage’ and awarded him £250 during Sulman’s trial at Leeds Crown Court.

The robber was sent to a young offenders’ institution for six years.

Mr Richardson, in hospital yesterday after breaking his arm in a rugby match, is being recommended for a bravery award.

He admitted he had probably been a ‘bit stupid’ in tackling the robber, but did so because he was in a ‘bad mood’ after failing to win anything in the bookmakers.

He was in his local branch of William Hill in Leeds on January 28 when Sulman rushed in.

CCTV images show him threatening the cashier with his gun. Unknown to anyone at the time, it was a replica and he was handed some cash.

Mr Richardson realised what was happening and went to the door to check if there were accomplices waiting.

He then stood in the way, staring down the barrel of a gun. ‘He wanted me to open the door and kept shouting he would shoot me if I did not open it,’ he said.

‘I looked him in the eyes…he was just a few feet from me. I thought “if he shoots me he shoots me, but I am not opening the door”.

Four more men taken into custody in US over Times Square bombin

FBI searches LI, NJ and Boston-area homes in Times Square bombing case

New York Post:

An army of FBI agents executed search warrants at several locations on Long Island, New Jersey and in the Boston suburbs this morning in connection with the failed Times Square car bombing, authorities said.

Attorney General Eric Holder has told Congress that “several people” have been taken into custody for immigration violations in the case.

“They do not relate to any known immediate threat. … This is part of an ongoing investigation,” he said.

In describing the development at a House Judiciary Committee hearing today, Holder said the arrests came as investigators looking into the bombing attempt executed search warrants.

A law enforcement investigator carries a box as he steps out of a home in Watertown, Mass. Federal agents arrested two people and are searching locations in Massachusetts and New York on Thursday in connection with the failed Times Square car bomb.

Earlier in the day, FBI spokeswoman FBI spokeswoman Gail Marcinkiewicz said the searches stemmed from evidence gathered in the investigation pertaining to Faisal Shahzad, who tried to detonate an SUV loaded with explosives on a crowded street two weeks ago in Times Square.

FBI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents executed search warrants in “several locations in the Northeast,” according to a statement from ICE.

Four people — two on Long Island and two in the Boston area — have been taken into custody on alleged immigration violations in connection with the raids. Another location targeted by the feds is a print shop in Cherry Hill, NJ.

The FBI would not elaborate on the raids, although sources said those brought into custody helped in financing the attack.

“These searches are the product of evidence that has been gathered in the investigation subsequent to the attempted Times Square bombing and do not relate to any known immediate threat to the public or active plot against the United States,” said ICE spokeswoman Kelly Nantel.

The FBI would not confirm any addresses or locations, but Fox News reported that one of the raids was made in Watertown, right outside Boston. A law enforcement source told The Post that two others were picked up on Long Island.

Vinny Lacerra, 50, who lives across the street from the house raided in Watertown, said he was in his living room at 6 a.m. when he heard somebody shout: “FBI! Put your hands up!”

Lacerra told The Associated Press that he looked out his windows and saw 15 to 20 FBI agents with their guns drawn surrounding the house. He said about 15 minutes later, the agents went inside and came out with one man handcuffed and took him down the street.

“I was surprised to see this because this is what you see on TV,” said Lacerra. Continue Reading →

Rejecting a Toothless Dialogue

by Baron Bodissey

Emanuel AydinBishop Emanuel Aydin of the Syrian Orthodox Church in Austria spoke last week at a conference in Macedonia. The conference was one of the usual ecumenical feel-good “dialogues” which are so beloved by the Vatican, Reformed Jews, and the Muslim Brotherhood. Bishop Aydin’s message, however, was tough and uncompromising in its stance about Islam. One suspects that many of the delegates to the conference were not at all happy with what he had to say.

Many thanks to JLH for translating the speech from the original German:

Address on the Occasion of the Conference
“Dialogue of Religions and Cultures”
Ohrid, Macedonia May 6-9, 2010
Emanuel Aydin
Chorepiskopos
Syrian Orthodox Church of Austria

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost of the one God. Amen.

Bism al-Ab wa al-Ibn wa al-Ruhulqudus, Ilah wahid. Amin.

Mr. President, Madame Cultural Minister, honored officials, excellencies, ladies and gentlemen.

In the framework of this conference with a circle of outstanding personalities, we have the marvelous opportunity to discuss the dialogue of religions and civilizations. I thank UNESCO for making this task its own. I especially thank the Macedonian government for enabling us to take up this difficult task in such a welcoming atmosphere and inspiring surroundings. In an area where civilizations have encountered one another for millennia, the world community can justifiably be called upon to seek what we all have in common.

So much more is it our responsibility that our answers not remain stuck on the surface as formulas and attractive mottoes. Many here are depressed by the possibility that the oft-expressed desire for “dialogue” will rigidify into mere ritual and cover over the actual problems of people with varying religious backgrounds living together.

Therefore, we should honestly confront some central questions: What is the nature of the dialogue and what does it consist of? What is the meaning and goal of the dialogue? Who are the parties, that is, the partners to the dialogue?

In answer to the first question: The paradigm, the example and the prototype for the “dialogue,” the Socratic dialogue as described for us by Plato. It is the cooperative struggle for truth, for insight into reality. Socrates attempts to draw perception from his interlocutor just as the midwife tries to help the mother at birth. The basic requirement is that both partners of the conversation are guided entirely by reality. In other words, they must both be concerned only with the truth. In regard to questions of justice, piety, and bravery, Socrates and his outstanding student, Plato, try to do just that: recognize and formulate truth. An insight must never be imposed.

The Platonic dialogues instruct us that it is difficult to achieve the truth by natural means. In the dialogue “Phaidon,” Plato expresses the hope that God himself will come to our aid. We find a masterful example of genuine dialogue in the dialogues of Justin the Martyr (Dialogue with the Jew, Tryphon) and the debates of St. Ephraim of Syria with the opponents of his time, especially Neo-Paganism under Emperor Julian Apostata.

Plato’s concern was captured masterfully by the African church father Augustinus in his dialogue “On the Teacher” (De Magistro). St. Augustinus tells us that true insight can never be imposed or “taught.” Individual insight is necessary, which is gladly vouchsafed to each honest seeker.

Concerning the second question about the meaning and goal of the dialogue: The meaning of the dialogue is in the classical sense simply directed at gaining understanding. What could this comprise? With great aspiration, “absolute understanding” could be the goal: insights which lie beyond the insights of the partners to the dialogue and which, at best, even overcome these positions. Is that a realistic demand in the “dialogue of religions” which is consciously committed to differing principles of faith and realities of manifestation? I think not, for it would radically oppose the self-image of all religions, so as to comprehend what each “Other” thinks and wants. Only in a following step could the modalities of a peaceful and fruitful togetherness be considered, by asking whether there are rules seen from a third standpoint — for instance that of the secular state — which are compatible with the convictions of all partners to the dialogue.

Even such an “unambitious” goal assumes at a minimum that one partner to the dialogue not imply that the other would not know or understand his own position.

Today, we Christians must take note that many of the public dialogue forums held worldwide, in which “commonalities,” “solidarity” and “cooperation” are invoked, have not contributed to a better understanding of the Christian faith. In publications from Islamic countries, in concord with Islamic source texts, Christians are still condemned as “polytheists” or “infidels.” The Christian belief in the most sacred Trinity is misrepresented. We Christians believe in Father, Son and Holy Ghost, not in Allah, Isa and Maryam!

We Christians are not “people of the Book.” We are “people of Jesus Christ.”

We think of ourselves as “Christianoi” — “those who belong to the Messiah, as it was expressed for the first time in Syrian Antioch in the time of St. Peter, the first of the apostles.

There must be no Islamic prerogative of interpretation about the Christian faith. It would dramatically contradict the basic principles of dialogue as just delineated.

Mullah Omar in custody reports Big Goverment

From Big Goverment

Through key intelligence sources in Afghanistan and Pakistan, I have just learned that reclusive Taliban leader and top Osama bin Laden ally, Mullah Omar has been taken into custody.

mullah_omar-bfeac

According to the State Department’s Rewards for Justice Program there is a bounty of up to $10 million on Omar for sheltering Osama bin-Laden and his al-Qaeda network in the years prior to the September 11 attacks as well as the period during and immediately thereafter.

At the end of March, US Military Intelligence was informed by US operatives working in the Af/Pak theater on behalf of the D.O.D. that Omar had been detained by Pakistani authorities. One would assume that this would be passed up the chain and that the Secretary of Defense would have been alerted immediately.  From what I am hearing, that may not have been the case.

When this explosive information was quietly confirmed to United States Intelligence ten days ago by Pakistani authorities, it appeared to take the Defense Department by surprise. No one, though, is going to be more surprised than Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.  It seems even with confirmation from the Pakistanis themselves, she was never brought up to speed.

Over the weekend, Clinton accused Pakistani Government officials of “holding back” on bin Laden intelligence.  In an interview Sunday on CBS “60 Minutes,” she said:

“I believe that somewhere in this government are people who know where Usama bin Laden and Al Qaeda is, where Mullah Omar and the leadership of the Afghan Taliban is, and we expect more cooperation to help us bring to justice, capture or kill those who attacked us on 9/11.”

Russian method works. Sailors set free.

No harm came to any kidnapped Russian sailors during this rescue. According to Stratfor:

May 6, 2010
A Russian warship freed a Russian-owned oil tanker that was hijacked off the coast of Yemen, according to tanker owner Novorossiysk Shipping Company, Reuters reported May 6. All crew on board the tanker are alive and well, a spokeswoman for the shipping company said by telephone. State-run RIA news agency, citing an unnamed regional navy official, reported that Somali pirates were captured and no Russians were hurt during the rescue mission.

For context, look down a few posts to here:

I don’t know what they did, but I bet it was not offering them Dutch citizenship

Spain begins to wake up

Here is a note I got from France:

“Look at the courage of the compatriots in Spain
Vive Europe waking up
Reply to the rats who insult us
Thanks

and accompanied this silent film:

With this explanation:

A shameless group bury Piggy, a 100% Spanish piglet, in a lot owned by the Seville City Hall which will be gifted for the construction of the largest mosque in Europe. According to Islamic law, the lot is no longer viable because it is unclean. Now the lot is a burial ground for swine.

The banners with DN stand for the Democracia Nacional party

I am told, the comments at youtube under this video are very encouraging, and seem to indicate a growing desire of Spaniards to rid itself of the oppressive Islam within it’s borders.

Had it not been for revisionist history, one would assume Spain of all countries would never have allowed a single Muslim within it’s borders in perpetuity. Perhaps this time.

special thanks to Fausta and Gaia who respectivly explained the Spanish and French to me.

I should add, that while I do appreciate even a symbolic effort to oppose Islamic primacy, it strikes me that buying into the enemy’s magical thinking cannot possibly ever work. They made up the stuff about pigs, so they can make up the solution. For example, they can make up that the ground can be reconsecrated with a few muttered words from an Imam, and the blood of a dozen infidels, and hey-presto the ground is consecrated again.

So while I do appreciate the fact that some in Spain actually thought of something, then actually did it, and that is fantastic, it would be better if they as well as we, thought of and did things that actually work.

Russians send warship after pirates. L A Times

Now this should be interesting. I wonder if Russia will have the same kind of limiting and perhaps even crippling rules of engagement that Obama has placed on as many as he can in terms of dealing with piracy.

If not Obama, then where did these limitations come from?

Russia sends warship after tanker is hijacked by Somali pirates

A crew of 23 Russians is aboard the Liberian-flagged MV Moscow University, reportedly carrying a cargo worth more than $50 million. The tanker, bound for China, was seized off Yemen.

By Jeffrey Fleishman, Los Angeles TimesMay 5, 2010 | 7:00 a.m.

Reporting from Cairo

A Russian warship was sailing toward the kidnapped crew of a Russian-owned oil tanker hijacked Wednesday by Somali pirates as the vessel headed into the Indian Ocean with a cargo reportedly valued at more than $50 million, according to a European antipiracy naval force.

The MV Moscow University tanker had left Sudan and was bound for China when pirates seized the 106,474-ton vessel about 350 miles off the Yemeni island of Socotra. The tanker flew a Liberian flag, but is owned by Novorossiysk Shipping Co. and carried a crew 23 Russians.

“This morning we had an attack on a Liberian-flagged ship Moscow University in the northeastern horn of our operation,” European Union Naval Force Commander Rear Adm. Jan Thornqvist told reporters in the Kenyan port city of Mombasa. “The crew members locked themselves in the radar room. This ship has been hijacked.”

The Novorossiysk website said the tanker was apprehended by pirates who opened fire from two small boats: “The company suspects the pirates managed to board the tanker. According to the latest information received from the [ship] none of the 23 seafarers on board have been hurt, the vessel and the cargo sustained no damage.”

The scourge of Somali pirates, who brandish machine guns and travel in speedboats, has forced oil tankers and cargo vessels deeper into the Indian Ocean to avoid hijackings near the Gulf of Aden, which leads to the Red Sea and Suez Canal. But the bandits have adapted, often sailing hundreds of miles off the Yemeni and Somali shores while dodging warships from U.S., Europe and other nations.

The dynamics of Somali pirating may be changing, at least in one lawless cove. Earlier this week, pirates on the coast at Xaradheere fled as Islamic insurgents stormed the town. It was unclear whether the group, known as Hizbul Islam, which has connections to Al Qaeda and has been battling the Somali government for years, will use the base for pirating and hostage taking in attempts to collect millions of dollars in ransom.

Pirates are believed to be holding about 350 hostages and have control of as many as 20 vessels, many of them scattered off the coast of Somalia. Maritime authorities say bandits have attacked hundreds of ships in recent years and have negotiated ransoms estimated to be between $100 million to $200 million.

ALGERIA: PROTESTS IN FRANCE FOR WOMEN IN HASSI MESSAOUD

ALGERIA: PROTESTS IN FRANCE FOR WOMEN IN HASSI MESSAOUD: ANSAMED HT gov

(ANSAmed) – PARIS, MAY 4 – Protests in France against the daily aggression against women working in Hassi Messaoud, the oil city in the heart of Algeria, continue. These women are considered to be prostitutes by fundamentalist imams, only because they live on their own. The imams set people against them in fiery sermons, which are always followed by punitive expeditions in which the women are robbed, beaten, tortured and raped. Today Francés Grand Lodge for women in a statement denounced “the silence that reigns on this extreme violence, aggression, the rapes and even murders” and deplores “the indifference of the media regarding these dramatic and barbaric events”. The violence has also been denounced by other French associations, particularly that tragic night in 2001 when around a hundred women ended up in hospital after an expedition of men armed with clubs, steel bars, knives. The story was recently told in a book by Algerian writer Nadia Kaci, unveiling the drama to France. But the drama still continues according to articles in Algerian dailies in the oil city, which denounced the impunity of the aggressors, the silence of the institutions and local authorities, the laxity of the community regarding the general condition of women in Algeria. Urgent: Geert Needs Our Help

As you all know, Geert Wilders and the Partij voor de Vrijheid (Party for Freedom) are running in next month’s general elections in the Netherlands. Unlike all the other Dutch political parties (and most other European parties), the PVV is self-funded and receives no government subsidy.

In the last two years Mr. Wilders has become the de facto leader of the European Counterjihad, and his success will have great importance far beyond the borders of his own country.

Ten thousand ordinary people giving a few bucks each can make up for the lack of government money or wealthy donors. Those who want to help may use the Paypal button for donations at the Geert Wilders website.

A PVV member emailed us this morning and requested our help getting the word out. The party’s appeal is below, and I’ve added an image in case anybody wants to use it. Please spread the word and help this message go viral:

Geert Wilders Needs Your Help Urgently

Geert Wilders icon (large)With four weeks to go before the general elections in the Netherlands, Geert Wilders and the Party for Freedom are now engaged in a life-and-death struggle against the forces of jihad. In the last couple of years Geert Wilders has emerged as the international symbol of the struggle against Islam.

The Party for Freedom (PVV) refuses government subsidy in order to remain independent. All other Dutch parties receive government money. Therefore, the PVV is facing a serious challenge in order to survive this election season. Dutch state television is engaged in a massive campaign to smear the PVV.

The Party for Freedom needs your help urgently. Every donation is welcome.

Right-wing protesters in stand-off with riot police over plans for £18m ‘mega mosque’

By Daily Mail Reporter
Last updated at 3:45 PM on 3rd May 2010

Riot police were in a stand-off today with ring-wing protesters who stormed the site of a planned ‘super mosque’.

Two members of the far-right English Defence League scaled the roof of a derelict building in Dudley, West Midlands, yesterday waving anti-Muslim banners.

They climbed to the rooftop on Sunday evening as dozens of protesters gathered at the site after an internet campaign by the EDL.

That evening around 30 masked protesters were ordered off the site as fights broke out.  A police officer and local teenager were taken to hospital for minor injuries after the clashes

Several EDL members clambered onto the roof of the building, which had been earmarked for the super mosque development.

The protest came just a month after 2,000 of far-right EDL protesters descended on Dudley to march against Islamic extremism.

Some bashed down metal fences, threw metal brackets at police and even fought with their own stewards who were trying to calm them down.

This morning, the men – who were dressed in balaclavas and army fatigues – remained on the roof of the old clothing factory where they unfurled banners reading ‘no to the burka’ and ‘no mosque’.
