The term Dar Al Harb in this video is translated as ‘Non Islamic World’. This is correct but the literal translation is world of war and refers to any non Muslim land being an obligation to Muslims to war to make it Islamic.

Phyllis Chesler examines another US honour killing.
Phyllis Chesler has written some of the very best material about feminism and Islam. I must say, that the mainstream feminist machinery is really disgustingly quiet on the matter of Islam which is without question the greatest threat to women’s rights and lets face it, safety overall. Phyllis as I understand it, was largely ostracised by the mainstream feminist community when she began to write on this subject some years ago. I find her work to be inspirational and important. Her article here on Vlad titled, ‘How Afghanistan Shaped my Feminism’ is truly an excellent work and should be read by all.
Here she examines an older honour killing in the US. She has of course been following the recent murder by decapitation of a women by her husband, a Muslim who ironically owned and operated a Buffalo NY TV station for the purpose of improving the image of Islam in the eyes of the west.
Please search this blog for Chesler’s work and visit her blog and sites she contributes to. She deserves recognition as truly one of the first feminist writers to deal with the reality of the threat to women by Islam and has suffered as a consequence.

She was an accomplished, professional woman, in her late thirties, a wife, and a mother. But her husband beat her. Terribly, and for a long time. Finally, after much suffering, she worked up the courage to leave him. That’s when, acting on his own, he killed her.
No, I am not talking about Aasiya Z. Hassan in Buffalo. I am talking about the 1999 St. Clairsville, Ohio case of Dr. Lubaina Bhatti Ahmed.
I know: All the major Muslim organizations, and the mainstream media, continually say that these deaths are examples of domestic violence. They say that domestic violence is a plague that afflicts women of all cultures and religions and which has nothing to do with Islam.

Links for February 18 2009 tennis and Pakistan
Two stories about Israel and tennis. A match in Dubai where Israeli teams had qualified had to be re worked when the nation of Dubai refused to allow in any Israeli’s despite having signed an agreement to abide by all rules of the world class tennis championships. The Israeli players qualified and where to be allowed to play. Dubai cancelled the visa to let the Isreali’s enter the UAE. I didn’t blog that actually at the time but now that Sweden, while allowing the match to go forward, has banned any spectators from attending for ‘safety reasons’ much like many Scandinavian cities told Jewish kids not to attend school for their own safety and we have something that looks a lot like late 30s Germany despite the thin veneer of a reason. Apparently, so many Muslims in Sweden created such a ‘Fuhrer’ that the authorities felt they had to prevent any attendees at all.
The big story I think of the week so far, (and it’s only Wednesday) is the question of the ‘peace deal’ with the Taliban over the implementation of sharia law in the Swat Valley. I also have not posted a great deal about it because there is just too much wrong with the articles I have read. Firstly, I cannot understand how allowing a hostile force to implement a reign of terror on the people of Swat is anything other than a surrender. How is it a peace deal or a compromise of any kind? The Taliban has already blown up as many schools for girls as they can. What makes Pakistan think they will stop? This is a large part of sharia law. No education for women except Quoran. Many are fleeing the area mostly women, artists and anyone not wishing to be killed by the flimsiest whims of some Muslim cleric for a seemingly arbitrary breach of this 7th century law. One man was killed for having his pant cuff to low down and he was apparently a good observant Muslim. Also, according to www.stratfor.com some reports seem to show the US very against this deal while other stories show the Obama Administration as supporting it.
No matter how you look at it, it is very bad. Add to this the admission that the Mumbai attacks where planned at the top of the Pakistani military machinery and we have a serious question as to the degree to which Pakistan is any kind of ally at all. Not to mention recent revelations about Musharaff’s known collusion’s with Al Queda and the Taliban using US money and materials to aid them.
Some sites are suggesting that the Pakistanis should allow Taliban to have Swat in exchange for peace with Pakistan. This is absurd of course. Anyone following Pakistan would know that just as one example, The Taliban have threatened to blow up any bus playing Music or movies if they did not stop this practice immediately. They did of course. This was just the first victory. Taliban/Al Queda will not stop until Pakistan is another sharia state and similar to the Afghanistan of the Taliban. Not to mention control of the nukes. Given that the ISI Pakistan’s intelligence inter service agency may have planned and trained the Mumbai attackers as well as supplied the attacks on India of serial concurrent bombings of commercial and tourist areas with commercial explosives its insane to think that giving them a state on the doorstep of Pakistan will do anything except accelerate the process of the destruction of Pakistan as a nation state altogether.

I recieved an email from a woman’s group and I am of course delighted to see women, certainly the largest and most commonly victimized groups by Islam, outwardly fighting this barbarianism. One year on, the Archbishop of Canterbury has once again defended his comments on Sharia law.
Just the word itself is for me like a kick in the stomach. I find myself trying to catch my breath every time I hear it being uttered.
I mean Sharia is why so many of us have fled and are fleeing Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.
To get as far away from it as possible.
Only to have it repackaged and sold to us by the US-led ‘liberators’ in Iraq and Afghanistan or by the Archbishop of Canterbury in Britain as the next best thing to sliced bread.
Contrary to claims of promoting social cohesion and ‘minority rights,’ Sharia in Britain is actually a capitulation to political Islam. Just as the Pakistani government’s agreement to allow the imposition of Sharia in the north-west this very week is an attempt to placate and appease the Islamists. It has nothing to do with freedom of religion and belief, or rights and choices. In fact, the stronger and more pervasive its hold, the less freedoms, rights and choices people – and particularly women – have.
Yes of course there is a difference between letting Islamic courts and councils decide on civil matters rather than criminal ones. But the difference is a matter of degree; the fundamentals are the same. Losing custody of your child at a pre-set age irrespective of the child’s welfare, being told to remain in an abusive relationship or having your forced marriage at 13 stamped with the approval of these sham courts can be just as destructive. In fact, discriminatory family and personal status codes are important pillars in the oppression of women in Islamic states. And much of the struggle for women’s rights is taking shape in countries like Iran against these very aspects of Sharia.
Moreover, rather than promote ‘minority’ rights and social cohesion, Sharia law promotes fragmentation and social conflict. It imposes different standards and norms for ‘different’ people. It denies universal and equal rights fought for and established by progressive social and working class movements over centuries. It gives precedence to the most regressive cultural and religious norms of the ruling elite rather than to human beings and their rights and lives.
Opposing Sharia law in Britain, as in Afghanistan or elsewhere isn’t an attack on people’s right to religion; it is a defence of people’s human rights.
After all, rights, equality and respect are for real live human beings not for beliefs and certainly not for inhumane political movements.

I respect and agree with the logic of them posting it. To pretend this is not happening does not make it not happen. Perhaps its better to be aware of the horrors being perpetuated before they are endemic than see them in black and white movies after they happen to millions scored with a cello in a minor key. Maybe if we see now, we act and stop it. Is it possible to change a historical cycle with foreknowledge as we surely have, or is Mark Twain right when he says that history does not repeat, it rhymes.

Here is a link to Jihad watch about an Afghan diplomat who beat his wife for fifteen solid hours. A Muslims beating his wife sadly is not news. I think most of us know enough about Koran at this point to know that in orthodox Islam, women are not technically people at all and so are treated worse than animals, as typically animals are bought and valued. Much as in the days of the building of the canals in New Orleans, black slaves where not used to do the work as malaria killed so many. So they used the Irish instead. No one had to pay for them. However I post this story because here on VTB there is a continuing thread about the new Afghanistan we are fighting for, and paying for and of course, dieing for. I often have a difficult time distinguishing between modern Afghanistan under the Karzai government and the Taliban except for the degree and frequency of brutality. But the failure to remove political Islam from the constitution of modern Afghanistan makes the exorcise in my opinion, utterly pointless. The fact that this particular Afghan diplomat happened to be in New York makes it that much worse. One would imagine Kabul sending someone like this to Saudi where his actions would be applauded. Search Vlad for several other stories of people being sentenced to death for merely questioning Islam and one wonders why we are there at all at this point. Why not leave a not on a rock that says any more terrorist training centers and we use a tactical nuke on it. Do what you want to each other till then. Iraq appears to be a great success as the last election showed, where people elected a much more secular government. However pre Baath, Iraq was a democracy. It has some history as such.

“Some derogatory comments were being made about Muslims that offended her,” Hassan told Reuters ahead of Tuesday’s launch. “She was seven months pregnant, and she thought she didn’t want her kids growing up in this environment.”
So he founded Bridges TV to combat negative perceptions of Muslims.
But now that he has beheaded his wife, I’m afraid this prominent moderate Muslim will only be feeding those negative perceptions.

When Vlad started just over a year ago, there where daily outrages on western nations by Islam and indications of pathetic submission by western governments. I would post them all as I found them with the odd bit of editorializing. Maybe once a week there would be something really astonishing which would deserve its own article also. Now of course events are so fast and furious, submission to irrational religious authority either from fear of violence or political correctness that there is simply too much to post in full or even be aware of. So now I will try and post daily Dhimmi files in point form with links attached. In less than one year, this is the extent of growth of Islam in the west and its demands on us to reshape our own civilization to accommodate it. This of course, in a growing atmosphere of containment on the media and authority never to publish anything critical of Islam and you can rest assured, most media listens. The rules on dealing with religious staff and patients state that all hospitals must be equipped with prayer rooms big enough to accommodate 20 worshippers and storage for religious items, as well as separate fridges for halal, kosher or vegetarian food and burqa-style gowns.
Doctors and nurses must also learn about “the concept of sin”, demonic possession and exorcism, and the belief systems of Paganism and Shamanism, so they can deal with the religious needs of patients.

Oh yes it was a woman. Does that matter? We here in the west are becoming indentured to the Islamic notion of tribalism. If we hear a Jew is murdered by a Muslim or beaten up or attacked we may feel less shocked than if it was a protestant, unless that protestant is a minister for the church of England then we sort of get it. If we hear someone in the act of compassionate work of reducing suffering is attacked by acid and dies from it we may be less shocked when we know it was a woman who may not have been living according to the strictest rules of Islamic decorum for females. This shows the extent to which we are all becoming Islamic. It should be more outrageous to us that we mitigate horror based on that primitive and barbaric standard. Her name was Maria Shaw. There is no way she can rest in peace till we reclaim civilization from seventh century barbarians. Just because it’s hard to believe its happening, does not mean it is not happening. Perhaps I should say, We should feel no peace. But it is a fact. We will not have any aspect of peace till we do. Surrender will bring perpetual war.
I will defend all Western countries but I feel especially close to Britain, which makes it all the more sad to see how humiliated this once-great nation currently is. The English language once conquered the world. Now the rest of the world is conquering the English-speaking countries. If current trends continue, people in Singapore will know English while the nation that created the English language will cease to exist.
At the same time as sharia law has gained official recognition as a part of the British legal system and Muslims proudly talk about conquering the Western world, a British woman was arrested because of a supposedly “racist” doll she kept in her window. In al-Britannia a Muslim man can claim benefits for children with multiple wives and brag about subduing the country and reducing its traditional inhabitants to second-rate citizens or worse, but you cannot have a “racially insensitive” doll in your own home, at least not if you’re white.
In my book Defeating Eurabia, I have a chapter about the situation in Britain. Since I’m already here I can again repeat that the book, which is available online as well in a printed version, can be republished for free online or in print and translated to other languages by anybody who wants to, as long as they do not represent a totalitarian ideology. I actively encourage people to do so.
Geert Wilders persona non grata in England?
This morning Lord Malcolm Pearson, a member of the British House of Lords, announced that he has invited Geert Wilders, a member of the Dutch Parliament, to show the movie Fitna (see it here ) in a committee room of the House of Lords next Thursday (12 February). Mr. Wilders has been asked to address a private meeting with members of the British Parliament, explaining to the Peers and MPs why he made Fitna and to engage in an open and frank discussion with them.
This afternoon Mr. Wilders received a letter from the British ambassador to the Netherlands saying that he is a “persona non grata“ in the United Kingdom. The ambassador told Mr. Wilders that he is a threat to public security and public harmony because of the controversy created by Fitna. Mr. Wilders intends to go to London anyway. “Let them arrest me in Heathrow,” he says.
If Mr. Wilders is denied entry to the United Kingdom, it will be the first time that Britain refuses entry to an elected politician from another member state of the European Union. The Dutch government has lodged formal objections with the British government over the unprecedented barring of an EU parliamentarian by another EU country.
In England, being non seperatist is now racist.
Well we all knew it was coming and frankly we have seen it already in Toronto and parts of the US with opponents of all black schools. If you advocate inclusivness in the UK you are now officially a racist and must be dismissed. A British school Headteacher was forced to resign after being branded racist for trying to axe separate assemblies for Muslims.
A primary school headteacher has resigned after Muslim parents protested over plans to scrap separate faith assemblies for their children. Soon after taking over at the school Julia Robinson told staff she wanted to hold assemblies for all pupils, which would encompass all faiths. The practice is common in most schools and after taking advice from the local authority, Ms Robinson set up a working party to look at alternatives.
But their work was stopped after a number of parents at Meersbrook Bank Primary Community in Sheffield complained about the plans. Mrs Robinson was accused of being racist and following the complaints she was away from her post for most of last year.
She was due to make a phased return to her duties this term. But again there were protests from some parents when they heard she would be coming back. Mrs Robinson resigned from her job and the school’s chair of governors Sarah Browton also quit in support. A member of staff who asked not to be named said: ‘The headteacher inherited the separate assemblies when she started the job and she took careful advice from the authority on what to do about them.

Is this what we are fighting for in Afghanistan?
According to MSNBC two men face a death sentance for ‘misinterpreting quoran‘ by writing a pocket size edition of it. I don’t care if they had wonderful intentions by Islamic standards meaning a Koran that’s easier to carry or if they like Salmon Rushdie meant to mock it and raise awareness of what a god awful piece of crap it is (pun intended with apologies) either way how dare western troops be in Afghanistan to support a government that would kill a person for writing something down. This is not the first incident under the Karazai Government. A man was sentenced to death last year as written about here on Vlad for bringing a piece of paper into class questioning whether Islam was in opposition to woman’s rights. This was at a university. Students are supposed to ask questions of their societies. He was sentenced to death and the judges at his ‘trial’ actually where shocked to discover that it was possible to print something off of the internet. This means either printers or the internet will not be legal long in Afghanistan I wager.

KABUL – No one knows who brought the book to the mosque, or at least no one dares say.
The pocket-size translation of the Quran has already landed six men in prison in Afghanistan and left two of them begging judges to spare their lives. They’re accused of modifying the Quran and their fate could be decided Sunday in court.
The trial illustrates what critics call the undue influence of hardline clerics in Afghanistan, a major hurdle as the country tries to establish a lawful society amid war and militant violence.
The book appeared among gifts left for the cleric at a major Kabul mosque after Friday prayers in September 2007. It was a translation of the Quran into one of Afghanistan’s languages, with a note giving permission to reprint the text as long as it was distributed for free.
Some of the men of the mosque said the book would be useful to Afghans who didn’t know Arabic, so they took up a collection for printing. The mosque’s cleric asked Ahmad Ghaws Zalmai, a longtime friend, to get the books printed.
But as some of the 1,000 copies made their way to conservative Muslim clerics in Kabul, whispers began, then an outcry.
Many clerics rejected the book because it did not include the original Arabic verses alongside the translation. It’s a particularly sensitive detail for Muslims, who regard the Arabic Quran as words given directly by God. A translation is not considered a Quran itself, and a mistranslation could warp God’s word.
‘Zalmai is an infidel. He should be killed’
The clerics said Zalmai, a stocky 54-year-old spokesman for the attorney general, was trying to anoint himself as a prophet. They said his book was trying to replace the Quran, not offer a simple translation. Translated editions of the Quran abound in Kabul markets, but they include Arabic verses.

Ontario Court Justice Norris Weisman has ordered a Muslim woman to remove her niqab, full face veil, during the court proceedings in a sexual assault trial. After claiming her garment provided her comfort, when faced with it’s shedding she tried to convince the court that her garment was suddenly a religious requirement to which Justice Weisman rejected.
Editorials in Canadian newpapers have pointed to the collision of two basic rights: religious freedom versus the right of a defendant to face his (her) accusor. The burqa issue has once again resurfaced in the media with predictable arguments for and against and, rightfully so.
I on the other hand, am not going to be caught arguing the merits of the burqa trap as a feminista issue of freedom, as I believe any woman has the fundamental right to be as stupid or oppressed as she sees fit wearing as much or as little as she pleases. Instead, my concern with this case lies solely with the proper administration of justice in a Canadian court room. One fundamental principle at trial is the requirement that all participants be visible and to challenge this inherited, fine value is to mock it’s merit. This case has little do with the niqab and everything to do with sharia law vying for equal status within the Canadian judiciary system. As a means to this end, the niqab is effectivly worn by poster chicks living the Whabbist cause, a visible argument for Islamist priority. This woman herself chose religion as a fall back position, a cherry picking event popular by Islamists.
Predictably her lawyer, sharia advocates and leftists with little to do since Bush vacated the Oval Office, are seeking that Justice Weisman’s order be overturned. This is an important case for Canadians to pay attention to since it will set a precedent and has the potential to change the fundamentals to the proper administration of justice in the Canadian court room. Unlike the mockery of justice that dominates an Islamic courtroom, Canada’s inherited British system is a well functioning reflection of a long standing model that serves democracy and the accused with purpose, fairness and equality.
Sharia certainly has no place in Canada’s courtrooms and for that matter, in Canada at all.
