Hamza Kashgari: threat of death over tweet
Another ‘artistic’ gutless wonder pretends to be daring.
I guess necklines are as low as they can go and still be interesting and hemlines are as high as possible without being a final gynecology exam. So unimaginative talentless wonders have to mock the one faith they know actually won’t hurt them while pretending to be so very daring.
How banal.
Hell if you want to mock the Catholics just research transubstantiation and ask some tough questions. But this public ridicule in an age where everyone knows the Catholic church if it does anything tends to bring food and medicine to those in need and gives a staggering amount of freedom to its adherents in African nations where Islam and animism are the dreadful alternatives.

OIC to hold conference in Brussels to protect ‘beliefs’ “beyond mere rhetoric”
This is interesting. And endorsed by Hillary Clinton who I thought was a lot smarter than this.

Well of course this is preposterous. The idea that one cannot discriminate based on belief. In essence this means that Islam and only Islam will have the right to preach genocide, war, discrimination and apartheid as it is central dogma to the belief system, while any attempt to point this out will result in a criminal charge at best. A visit from the local sharia-brownshirts at worst.
The second quote is by necessity self contradicting. Clearly the Muslim belief that only Muslims may enter Mecca or Yathrib (Medina) will be sacrosanct while say, someone else’s belief that no Muslims should work, visit or live somewhere will be illegal.
So no, it will not be a protection for persons based on religion or belief. It will be a shield for Muslims to commit any discriminatory act they wish, say whatever they wish, force complicity for whatever policy they wish while anyone else will be criminalized for having their own views. This will be the practical outcome. One only needs look at any nation where Islam has over 10% of the population and is anywhere close to “the whip hand” (as Enoch Powell is noted for reading from a constituent’s letter.)
In other words, it is highly unlikely that my firm belief in freedom of speech. In the right, no; the responsibility to mock, chastise, and criticize both anonymously (as is my right by law as a central tenet of democracy) and openly totalitarian and authoritarian and indeed, ultra conservative systems like Islam and other theocracies which remove my individual rights will not be protected under this new bill. If it did, it would be redundant by U.N standards itself according to Eleanor Roosevelt’s charter.
In fact, the Muslim nations are so very far out of bounds of this charter that it utterly boggles the mind that any UN or official from any civilized nation would entertain any sort of ‘rights’ law suggested by a Muslim nation and perhaps least of all Saudi Arabia. (although that would be highly debatable) It is critical to remember that people have rights. Beliefs do not. This should be said as a mantra by all and daily. One cannot give rights to a political system, a belief system or an alternative physics. People can have rights so long as we are prepared to fight for them. Belief systems are to be promoted or opposed as people see fit and in their own enlightened interests.
I hope all people carefully asses the risk-benifit equation of freedom and liberty vs. what they think they might lose by opposing the rapid encroachment of Islam and it’s barbarous and horrific laws on all of us.
And so for those who will defend freedom of speech, and also for those who believe in a totalitarian theocracy, I dedicate this video:
Saudi Arabia used Interpol’s system to get journalist arrested
It seems the Saudis can use European and other law enforcement agencies to enforce sharia law in other countries.

Interpol has been accused of abusing its powers after Saudi Arabia used the organisation’s red notice system to get a journalist arrested in Malaysia for insulting the Prophet Muhammad.
Police in Kuala Lumpur said Hamza Kashgari, 23, was detained at the airport “following a request made to us by Interpol” the international police cooperation agency, on behalf of the Saudi authorities.
Kashgari, a newspaper columnist, fled Saudi Arabia after posting a tweet on the prophet’s birthday that sparked more than 30,000 responses and several death threats. The posting, which was later deleted, read: “I have loved things about you and I have hated things about you and there is a lot I don’t understand about you … I will not pray for you.”
More than 13,000 people joined a Facebook page titled “The Saudi People Demand the Execution of Hamza Kashgari”.
Clerics in Saudi Arabia called for him to be charged with apostasy, a religious offence punishable by death. Reports suggest that the Malaysian authorities intend to return him to his native country.

Saudi journalist Hamza Kashgari was detained in Malaysia on Wednesday night and is likely to be extradited soon to Saudi Arabia, where he will be tried for blaspheming religion. Kashgari, 23, had fled the kingdom Monday after he received thousands of death threats. His crime? He posted on Twitter a series of mock conversations between himself and the Islamic prophet Muhammad.
“On your birthday I find you in front of me wherever I go,” he wrote in one tweet. “I love many things about you and hate others, and there are many things about you I don’t understand.”
It is not permissible to ask allah to have mercy on an infidel.

Twitter’s logo(ANSAmed) – ANKARA – A Twitter user has gained almost 200 thousand followers under the username ”@allah”.
Charges have been filed against him and while the result of the case is uncertain, it has drawn the attention of an information website. The lawsuit against the account ”twitter.com/allahcc” was opened by television presenter Serdar Tuncer, who claims that the more than 4,600 tweets sent by this tweeter mock the Islam and other religions and humiliate their faithful. Tuncer, who presents television programmes dedicated to Ramadan, as the website Bianet reports, has said that ”the correspondence between the person called @allah (cc) and his readers” violates article 216/3 of Turkish Criminal Law on ”denigration of religious values”.
The messages sent by ”@allah”, listed in the complaints, include: ”We have been god for so many years and we are still cooking pasta with tomato sauce.” ”Fortunately, we created sour cherry.” ”With my present mind I would not have created the little finger of human beings.” ”Our side over here is very safe because there is no police.” The tweets contain ”humiliation and insults against Islam and Muslims”, the plaintiff claims, asking the prosecution to focus on the article in Turkish law that sentences “anyone who openly denigrates the religious values of a part of the population” to imprisonment of from six months to one year, ”where the act is sufficient to breach public peace”.

I can’t think of too much worse than this.
Perhaps one doesn’t know one is in paradise or in a golden-age until one is thrown out or it ends. It sure feels that way at the moment as the world slides into barbarism, totalitarianism, theocracies and primitive oppression.

You know, if Muslim groups had two brain cells to rub together they would ignore stuff like this and people would stop doing it. But as far as stuff like this is concerned, this is very funny.
Add to that, the right to criticize and even mock irrational religious authority was itself a sacred thing until the left realized that the destructive force of Islam was far greater than their own, so defending the Islamic, ‘pseudo-right’ not to be offended suited their purpose better than the one we should all agree on, which is freedom of speech.

RODNEY HOGG took fans ”inside the mind of a lunatic fast bowler” in his autobiography and did so again yesterday with a Muslim slur that has landed him in controversy.
The outspoken former Test cricketer, who terrorised batsmen during his six-year international career, was forced to duck and weave after delivering a tweet described as ”more than despicable” by the leader of an Islamic group.
”Just put out my Aussie flag for Australia Day but I wasn’t sure if it would offend Muslims … So I wrote ‘Allah is a shit’ on it to make sure,” Hogg tweeted at about noon yesterday.

Before I paste any of this article here, let me add this 2 cents.
The idea of criminalizing criticism of belief is so preposterous that it ends all law everywhere. In essence, it means that any and all prosecutions ever done anywhere are illegal, as after all, any action taken by a living thing is predicated on some kind of belief. If criticism of that belief is illegal, then stopping actions based on that belief would have to follow, as stopping these actions would be a form of criticism of the belief that inspired it. This makes rape legal certainly as well, he believed she really wanted it right?

Following the lobbying efforts of the Organization of Islamic Co-operation (OIC), resolution 16/18 was agreed by the United Nations. The resolution reads as follows:
“Combating intolerance, negative stereotyping and stigmatization of, and discrimination, incitement to violence and violence against, persons based on religion or belief”
Is the OIC’s motivation with regard to defamation of religion motivated by a sincere belief in protecting religious freedom or is it a means to protect religious dogma? The plight of minority religious opinion in many OIC member states may perhaps suggest an answer to this question.
We have therefore looked at two websites that look at persecution: WikiIslam, and persecution.org. There are relevant links to each site next to the OIC member state listed. Some member states have more entries than others, there is even an indication of positive measures in a small number of states.
The following OIC states appear to have the best record of tolerance based on a quick look at the two sources and are not included in the list below: Kingdom of Bahrain, Burkina-Faso (then Upper Volta), Republic of Togo, Republic of Djibouti, Republic of Suriname, Sultanate of Oman, Republic of Gabon, Republic of The Gambia, Republic of Guyana, Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Republic of Mali, Republic of Mozambique, Republic of Cameroon, and State of Qatar.
However, the overall picture that is created of the OIC area with regard to persecution of religious minorities is disgraceful. The OIC clearly has much work to do with its a large number of its own member states before lecturing the West and the wider world about religious tolerance. If the example of many OIC countries is anything to go by then laws to prevent defamation of religion are far from positive in their effects. This is just a snapshot based on articles included at these two websites and there are some articles that do suggest positive measures in some cases.

A Canadian Iranian software engineer is facing imminent execution in Tehran for allegedly operating a pornography website after the Iranian Supreme Court rejected a final appeal from his lawyers.

Saeed Malekpour, 35, says he was tortured into making a confession about the website on live TV and Iranian officials used the broadcast to give him the death sentence.
The software engineer’s family says the web software was only designed for uploading and sharing photos and that adult sites used it without is knowledge.
Human rights campaigners believe the hardline Islamist regime wants to use Malekpour as an example as it cracks down on Internet freedom ahead of elections.

On the basis of that confession, he was convicted of ‘insulting and desecrating Islam’ and sentenced to death.

A teenage Saudi boy is facing execution unless he pays seven million Saudi riyals ($1.8 million) to the family of a friend who he murdered after the victim raped him, a newspaper in the Gulf Kingdom reported on Thursday.
A criminal court in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah sentenced the unnamed boy to death for stabbing his elder friend after the victim raped him at his house nearly nine months ago.
The boy told court that he was at the victim’s home when he was asked to take his clothes off. But he refused, prompting his knife-wielding friend, who is bigger in size, to force him to strip off before raping him.
Just after he finished, the victim apologized to his friend and “took oath on the Koran” that he would never do it again, Alhayat newspaper said.
But two months later, the boy was returning home late night when he found his friend waiting outside. He told his friend to go home but the man insisted on taking him to his house to have sex with him again.
