Sarkozy shows the way to boot out a preacher of hate: Just hours after expulsion order, two extremists are put on a plane – are you listening, Mrs May?

Wait, isn’t there an election coming up in France?

Daily Mail:

  • Two radical Islamists have already been put on flights out of France within hours of Sarkozy’s expulsion order
  • British officials, meanwhile, continue with their battle to remove hate preacher Abu Qatada, who is wanted in Jordan on terror charges

Swift justice: Nicolas Sarkozy instantly expelled two radical Islamists from FranceSwift justice: Nicolas Sarkozy instantly expelled two radical Islamists from France

Two radical Islamists were kicked out of France yesterday – prompting calls for Theresa May to take the same no-nonsense approach when it comes to removing extremists.

Nicolas Sarkozy demanded the deportation of a convicted  terrorist and a hate preacher.

No sooner had the expulsion order been signed than the pair were put on flights out of the country.

The swift departures led to  comparisons with Britain’s embarrassingly flawed efforts to remove hate preacher Abu Qatada who is wanted in Jordan on terror charges.

He is out on bail after the European Court of Human Rights blocked his deportation on the grounds that Qatada would not face a fair trial if returned.

Home Secretary Mrs May has insisted she wants to secure an agreement with Jordan which would satisfy the Strasbourg court and allow Qatada to be removed from Britain.

France arrests Islamist suspects in fresh raids

BBC:

Police officer wearing a balaclava holding suspect with a scarf over his head Police have been careful not to link the raids directly to the killings by Merah in Toulouse and Montauban

Police in France have conducted new raids on Islamist suspects in the wake of the multiple killings by gunman Mohamed Merah.

At least 10 people were arrested as police conducted operations in several locations, mostly in the south.

Meanwhile 13 people arrested in raids last week were charged with terrorism and nine of them remanded in custody.

President Nicolas Sarkozy vowed to crack down on suspected radical Islamists after the Merah killings.

Expulsions

Most of Wednesday’s raids were in the south and south-west, notably in Marseille but also in Carpentras, Valence and Pau, police sources told Agence France-Presse news agency.

There was also a raid in Roubaix, close to the Belgian border.

The raids were organised by the DCRI intelligence agency and carried out by elite Raid and GIPN commandos.

One police source said: “Those arrested have a similar profile to Mohamed Merah. They are isolated individuals, who are self-radicalised.”

He told Reuters they were tracked on Islamists forums expressing extreme views and that they were planning to visit Afghanistan, Pakistan and West Africa to wage jihad, or holy war.

The operation comes less than a week after raids that targeted men who are believed to be associated with a radical group called Forsane Alizza, or Knights of Pride, which was banned last month.

MapThe group’s leader Mohamed Achamlane is one of nine people remanded in custody while police investigate allegations that they stashed weapons and plotted to kidnap a judge.

Terry Jones files federal suit against Dearborn over free speech issues From The Detroit News

Detroit News:

Detroit— Controversial Florida Pastor Terry Jones sued the city of Dearborn and police chief Monday in federal court, alleging they violated his constitutional rights.

The lawsuit stems from alleged restrictions placed on Jones, who wants to demonstrate and distribute literature Saturday in front of the Islamic Center of America on Ford Road.

A Jones colleague applied for a special events permit, which includes a document releasing the city from any liability, costs or claims resulting from the event.

“Plaintiffs should not be forced to sign a one-sided, unconscionable contract subject only to the unbridled discretion of the city’s legal department in order to exercise their constitutional rights,” Jones lawyer Erin Mersino wrote in the lawsuit. “The city’s free speech restriction imposes an unconstitutional burden on plaintiffs’ constitutional rights.”

Australian burka protests 2012

Another (mostly) naked woman protest about, Islam, I think. Or the Eiffel Tower, I’m not sure which.

I’m not clear on how women can use their own nakedness to garner attention while simultaneously showing anger at being objectified. I mean, they would be a lot less objectified if they wore clothes I would think, and as they knew it would be their bare bodies that would bring attention to their cause, (whatever that is. To be honest I am not exactly sure) isn’t that actually self-objectifying?

I always find it amusing when women exploit the desires of men and then claim it is they who are being exploited. Like a Venus Flytrap claiming they are exploited by flies.

In any case here is the series of pictures of the demonstration in France, a sample of which is below.

Jasser’s Appointment Riles Islamists

Canadian MP stands up for democracy and against ‘Anonymous’

This warmed my heart. And of course he is absolutely correct. Having a gang of thugs be it on the internet or at your door with brass knuckles are still thugs. The idea that they would blackmail an elected MP to force him to change policy, even policies I disagree with, disgusts me. I hope they find these guys and move them to North Korea for a while.

France is to ban radical Muslim preachers from entering the country as part of a crackdown after shootings by an al Qaeda-inspired gunman in Toulouse, President Nicolas Sarkozy said today.

The President said he would block the entry of some imams invited to an Islamic conference next month, organised by the Union of French Islamic Organisations (UOIF).

The UOIF, one of three Muslim federations in France, is regarded as close to Egypt’s Islamist Muslim Brotherhood.

‘I have clearly indicated that there certain people who have been invited to this congress who are not welcome on French soil,’ Mr Sarkozy told France Info radio.

The crackdown follows the murder of seven people in Toulouse by Islamic extremist Mohammed Merah, 23.

The gunman shot down a Rabbi, three children and three soldiers in three separate attacks before being shot dead at the end of 32-hour police siege.

Following the shootings last week, Mr Sarkozy has announced plans to punish those viewing websites advocating Islamic extremism and going abroad for indoctrination or terrorist training.

I would very much like to know how these women were treated right after this video ends. Very courageous, among other things, of these women to protest Islamic treatment of women in Istanbul Turkey, but doing so topless, well as one commenter said over at liveleak where the video is from,

Two French police officers have been injured in a shoot-out during a raid on a house in Toulouse on Wednesday to arrest suspects in the killings of three children and a rabbi at a Jewish school in south-west France this week, a police source said.

The source said the raid began at 3am local time and was continuing but did not provide further details.

The French news channel BFM TV said the suspects were linked to an Islamist group that it identified as Forsane Alizza but it was not immediately possible to confirm this.

When you call us you win: An article by the people at Law and Freedom Foundation ‘Mosquebusters’

When you call us you win …

By • on March 17, 2012

… and when you don’t, you lose.

To my pleasant surprise, we’ve won every case we’ve fought. Is this just luck? A lucky streak of 12 on the trot would be a very lucky streak indeed, though maybe not impossible. What confirms my view that it is more than dumb luck is that the applications we haven’t got involved in have gone the other way.

The City of Derby is a classic example. They were recently the fortunate recipients of an application for “A MOSQUE that could cater for 600 people, with a minaret towering 21 metres into the sky, will be built in Derby”. See the image above.

The good people of Derby didn’t approach us for help.

The mosque got planning permission on March 15th.

And this in spite of the Council Planning Officer recommending that permission be refused because of “physical dominance”, “overbearing height”, “mass within the plot” and “undue harm to the amenities of adjacent and nearby residents”.
