My only question is, ‘Why is reason always such an absolute last-ditch choice when communism fails catastrophically, as it simply has to each, and every time.
At least Spain is choosing to try reason even if it is a little too little and a little too late.
Nearly half-a-million illegal migrants in Spain stand to lose their rights to free healthcare following the government’s move to revoke a provision in the current law that guaranteed that those without residency cards would be afforded medical treatment and prescription medicines.
The move, announced last Friday by Health Minister Ana Mato as part of the government’s far-reaching savings plans, has sparked a wave of criticism from the opposition.
“From a humanitarian point of view, this is a repugnant measure,” said Gaspar Llamazares, a United Left (IU) deputy in Congress and member of the health committee, on Monday.
The Popular Party (PP) government wants to eliminate the right to free healthcare for illegal migrants in order to curtail abuse by those who bring their family members from other countries to Spain for treatment, Mato said. “Registry on municipal rolls will no longer be the only valid requisite to apply for a health card,” Mato said after Friday’s Cabinet meeting. “Those applying for a health card will be checked out to see if they live here and, like us, work and pay taxes.”
The right to free healthcare for illegal migrants was first introduced in 1999 as an amendment to Spain’s Law of Foreign Nationals. It was slightly modified in 2000 under the government of José María Aznar.
According to the National Statistics Institute, there are 5,711,040 foreigners living in Spain. Of that number, an estimated 459,946 do not have residency papers.

The march was re-reouted to avoid the seafrontTwo policemen suffered head injuries after bottles were thrown at them during a nationalist march in Brighton.
The March for England group held its fifth annual event, with counter protests by anti-fascist groups.
About 140 people took part in the march which was temporarily halted twice and re-routed to avoid the seafront.
One of the injured officers was taken to hospital but later discharged. Sussex Police said three people were arrested for public order offences.
Police said the route had been changed “following significant verbal aggression by both groups of demonstrators”.
And mounted police were drafted in to maintain calm as attempts were made to obstruct the march at several points amid “considerable levels of violence”, police said.
Roads were closed in the area, and bus services disrupted.
The march was halted first in Queen’s Road and then in Church Street, where mounted officers were deployed to help with crowd control.

It’s not just a catch-phrase or the name of our party, it actually means a great deal.
Think about it:
Freedom is the ability to think, say and do what comes naturally, without fear of persecution.
It’s democracy – true democracy.
It’s freedom of thought, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom to fail and freedom to succeed.
So, where and how did we get these freedoms?
Well, that’s where the ‘Britain’ bit comes in. It came about because our ancestors fought and died for it. They stood for weeks or even months on end in hellish, waterlogged frozen trenches only to come out and face certain death in order to deliver us the Freedom that we sadly take for granted today.
That, in a nutshell, is British Freedom.
So, our question is this:
Why should those who gave — and still give — so much have to pay for the right to have a say in how the country they fought for, and their relatives died for, is run?
Dudley Council said the proposed £18m mosque would be out of keeping with nearby buildingsPlans to build a new mosque on a derelict site in the centre of Dudley have been thrown out by the High Court.
In September, Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council refused permission for a second time to build an £18m mosque and community centre on Hall Street.
Accusations of unfairness and “abuse of power” made by the Dudley Muslim Association against the council were rejected by the court.
Dudley Muslim Association said it would appeal against the ruling.
Kurshid Ahmed, from the association, said he was “bitterly disappointed” with the judgement and claimed the planning dispute had damaged community relations.
He also called for an independent hearing into the planning process, which dates back to 2005, when the association bought the plot of land.
‘Unfortunate dispute’
Following the High Court decision, the association is now required to sell the Hall Street site back to the local authority within the next month.
Here are some great clips of the demo thanks to EDL Buck:
And look! Scant hours later, look who gets arrested!
It seems just like yesterday when i used to watch CBC with Suzuki explaining how by the 1990s we were all going to freeze to death because of ‘nuclear winter’. How soot from industrial pollution was going to blot out the sun and cause a new ice age. Funny how hard it is to find any of those clips on line anywhere now that I think about it.
Now of course it’s all about global warming etc. It does my heart good to see Ezra bust this guy. Sanctimony is not a commodity that should make one rich. Its even worse when, as Suzuki, does, you make it an export.
Good luck boys.

English Defence League leader, Tommy Robinson, has been warned by police there is a threat to his safety, ahead of the group’s upcoming protest march through Luton on May 5.
The ‘Osman warning’ document, as it is known, details that police are in receipt of intelligence that indicates a threat to cause Mr Robinson serious physical harm over the coming weeks.
The document reads ‘An EDL march is planned for Saturday, May 5 and together with the planned march and TV programmes it is believed that tensions have risen against both the EDL and yourself as the leader of the EDL’.
But Mr Robinson (pictured) said that he isn’t concerned by the warning and the march will go ahead.
He said: “This is just scare tactics to try to stop us going ahead with the protest through Luton.
“If we cancelled the march I’d be letting them win.
Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving guy

This is the picture that led the FBI to a catch prolific hacker allegedly responsible for releasing the personal information of scores of police officers throughout the United States.
Higinio O. Ochoa III has been charged with illegally hacking into at least four U.S. law enforcement websites – feats he allegedly boasted about across social networking sites.
And it was this image – snapped in Australia – of his scantily-clad girlfriend holding a message taunting U.S. authorities that caught the 30-year-old computer programmer from Galveston, Texas.
What a boob: Higinio Ochoa, known as w0rmer and working with hacking group CabinCr3w, has been charged with hacking. The FBI was led to him by this photo of his girlfriend on a site boasting of his feats
The picture shows a woman from the neck down with a sign attached to her stomach, reading: ‘PwNd by w0rmer & CabinCr3w <3 u B****’s!’
The FBI said it confirmed the identity of Ochoa, who calls himself ‘w0rmer’ online and is a member of ‘CabinCr3w’, an offshoot of hacking group Anonymous.
What a tribute to the fascists and religious fanatics that they have managed to demonize and marginalize the classically liberal, the people who within all of human history have allowed the greatest latitude for the most people. The people who in fact created, allowed and practiced tolerance and diversity, to be made into a tiny fringe group as we see below. We have lost a war to the fascists and barbarians without even knowing we were in a war in true Sun Tzu fashion, and for those who did know, have been told it is illegal to speak of it.
Frankly the British embassy at this point should be treated with the same caution and distance as North Korea or Iran. The madness and illiberalism of England however, is much more dangerous as they speak our mother tongue, and is much more likely to spread.
Thank you very much EDL Buck for filming this and working with me to make it available to us all.

Rotterdam council was right not to offer lawyer Mohammed Enait the job of client manager after he refused to shake hands with women, a court in The Hague said on Tuesday afternoon.
Enait had applied for the job at the social services department but said he would not shake hands with women on religious grounds. However, he would greet them in another respectful fashion, he said.
When he was refused the job, Enait brought a civil case against Rotterdam council, saying the rejection was religious discrimination.
The court found the refusal to shake women’s hands ‘unacceptable’ and that Enait is ignoring the equality between men and women, reports news website nu.nl. In addition, it would damage the relationship between the council and its clients.
In 2009, Enait was in the news for refusing to stand up in court when judges entered the room on the grounds that in Islam all men are equal.

A Muslim family in Basel has been fined 1,400 francs ($1,550) for refusing to let its daughters participate in mixed swimming classes.
The family had sought to avoid paying the fine on the grounds that the requirement for the girls to join the swimming lesson infringed on their religious freedom, online news website Le Matin reported.
The parents argued that, in accordance with the teachings of the Koran, they wanted to instil a sense of shame in their children before they reached puberty. Mixed swimming lessons in primary school, the family claimed, would be incompatible with such an aim.
