France’s Le Monde newspaper says it has seen confidential documents of the police investigation into Toulouse gunman Mohamed Merah that suggest he was not working alone.

The papers showed he had made more than 1,800 calls to over 180 contacts in 20 different countries, Le Monde said.

Merah had also made several trips to the Middle East and Afghanistan.

Merah, 24, killed three soldiers and four Jewish people in March before being shot dead by police.

Lyon Rabbi sent Holocaust photo threat

A good example on what I call, Islam’s war on history. Islam teaches that all things that happened before Islam became the dominant law in an area is ‘the time of ignorance’ and all things which offend Islam or contradict its teachings are destroyed with the zeal that civilization uses to create things.

This is clearly a part of that process.

French anti-terrorist authorities have been alerted after the Chief Rabbi of Lyon was sent a threatening letter accompanied by images of Jewish children being marched to World War II concentration camps.

The Rabbi, Richard Wertenschlag, told AFP on Wednesday he had brought the missive to the attention of the authorities because of its particularly offensive and menacing content.

“One could brush it off as the work of one rogue individual but we have to envisage the worst scenario — prevention is better than a cure,” he said.

In the letter, which was sent to Lyon’s main synagogue on August 10, the author complained: “More and more frequently we are having ideas imposed on us
that have as their goal to apologise for the Jew, the so-called Shoah (holocaust), the evil Palestinians.

“From now on we will punish a Jew … each time that you go on television to complain.”

France unveils new strategy for ‘No-go zones’

Ministry of Interior unveils “hotspot” policy to tackle “rooted delinquency”

15.8.12

In a note released on 30 July 2012, the French Interior Minister Manuel Valls announced the launch of a new security policy targeting newly identified “priority security areas” (Zone prioritaires de sécurité, ZPS). [1] The project will be launched in 15 pilot cities in September 2012.

Areas characterised by “structural” delinquency

The identification of the first 15 ZPSs results from a detailed mapping of delinquency hotspots by the General Directorate of the national police force, and the General Directorate of the gendarmerie. This identification was done “unusually at a central [i.e. national] level: local gendarmerie and police forces, together with local authorities and stakeholders, will then be involved in the identification of 40 to 60 new areas by the summer of 2013.

The aim is to provide “appropriate answers to local issues … in territories where delinquency and anti-social acts are structurally rooted”. Objectives in each ZPS are to be limited in numbers (two to three) to “avoid any resource dispersal”. A non-exhaustive list details the acts the new strategy should endeavour to tackle: “the shadow economy, drugs and arms trafficking, acquisitive crime, burglary, gatherings in common areas of residential buildings, misbehaviour on the public highway (nuisance), and other uncivil acts”.

Two units will be established to ensure operational coordination among interior security forces (reaction capacity) and among the strategy’s “partners” (prevention strategy) which may include actors not affiliated to the Ministry of Interior, such as the judiciary, schools and social services.

The promotion of a new security policy under a new government

This is the first official document about delinquency and security since the appointment of the Socialist government in May 2012. The note is often critical of the previous strategy adopted by the different governments under Nicolas Sarkozy’s presidency: Valls promotes a strategy “beyond raids [operations coups de poing] or spectacular initiatives” considered as being “modi operandi with no strategy … which prove inefficient in the long term”. Moreover, it was announced that the new security strategy will not be evaluated and monitored on the basis of “quantitative criteria” such as the “figures-based” policy of the precedent administrations. [2]

Coordination among the police, the gendarmerie and the judiciary, but also between several ministries (urban and social development, justice) is promoted so as to address the structural causes of insecurity in both rural and urban areas.

BBC Left wing bias, so predictable its actually funny.

This time, the BBC had to find some by-the-book out there leftist prof. from the University of Texas to obfuscate and avoid any actual pertinent facts about the French riots and try and stuff it back into the usual commie narrative talking points. Poverty, (without explaining why) unemployment (without explaining why) and “being disenfranchised” all the while giving the current socialist government of France a pass for the responsibility because they have only been in power a few months. None of this of course is pertinent or even information about the riots. Just classic slapstick BBC propaganda. Like the CBC in Canada, if we didn’t have to pay for it, it would be funny as hell.

So, what exactly is a ‘no-go zone’, and how does it happen?

Below is an original translation (Thank you Bear) from a French article about the suspension of mail delivery in an entire area of France. The mail system decided to suspend service to this area because of constant theft of vehicles as well as mail from the carriers and I would wager much worse than that. I bet they gave up using female carriers some time ago for that matter.

In any case when you see a retreat from public services such as mail, fire, police and emergency services from an area, you also see loss of sovereignty of that area. The area effectively no longer is governed by the laws of the nation.

Ontario has allowed exactly such lawless areas to form due to brigands who use the politically correct veneer of being amer-Indians to frighten people not to react with force to what is nothing more than sheer organized crime in places like Caledonia.

In much of Europe it is Muslims who are using similar tactics to create zones where the nation state has no actual control whatsoever, but worst of all scenarios, actually has to pay massive amounts of money to the residents of the area to stop them from commiting crimes more in all the other areas.

I suppose this is what they mean by, ‘Jizya’

Thanks again Bear for the translation:

PARIS — Dozens of young men rioted in a troubled district in northern France after weeks of tensions, pulling drivers from their cars and stealing the vehicles, and burning a school and a youth center. The police department in Amiens says at least 16 officers were hurt by the time the riot ended Tuesday, some by buckshot.

At the height of the confrontation, 150 officers – both local and federal riot police – faced off against the young men throughout the neighborhood. There were no arrests.

“The confrontations were very, very violent,” Amiens Mayor Gilles Dumailly told the French television network BFM. Dumailly said tensions had been building for a number of weeks between police and the impoverished residents, whom he described as “people who are in some difficulty.”

Violent riots in Amiens leave 16 officers injured

The Local

;Riots broke out in Amiens, northern France, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, leaving 16 police officers injured and several million euros of damage.

About 100 youths set on fire a primary school, sports centre and police station in the north of the city. Some local inhabitants were injured in car-jacking incidents.

Some 150 police officers, including special forces of anti-riot police and 45 officers from Paris, were deployed to calm the tension.

Toulouse gunman ‘was being watched’

French security services had watched Toulouse shooter Mohamed Merah since the end of 2009 and judged his behaviour “worrying” in late 2011, according to declassified documents seen by AFP.

As part of a probe into his killings, France’s DCRI domestic intelligence agency has released documents relating to the Al-Qaeda-inspired Islamist who killed seven people in March.

French intelligence has been criticised since it emerged that it was known Merah had travelled to Pakistan and Afghanistan before he went on his killing
spree.

Both Merah and his older brother Abdelkader had been under surveillance by the DCRI since 2009, according to the documents, in particular after the two travelled in 2010 to Egypt, where Merah went to learn Arabic.

France: Police closing down roma camp near Lille

Translation by Michael Laudahn:

from NZZ.Ch:

France: Police closing down roma camp near Lille

On thursday, french police have evacuated a roma camp near the city of Lille and expelled the 200 inhabitants from their caravans. During raids in recent days in Paris and Lyon, already hundreds of immigrated Roma without valid documents were forced to leave their apartments.

Thus the new socialist government continues the policy initiatied by former president Nicolas Sarkozy, who intervened with a show of force in summer 2010 against roma, thereby harvesting criticism from the EU, the catholic church and human-rights activists.

The new interior minister, Manuel Valls, justified the raids as legal and necessary, because the improvised accommodation of hundreds of people on a limited space is a health risk. ‘Unhygienic camps are unacceptable’, he declared on wednesday.

Frequently, these camps are being established in workers’ quarters, there disturbing community life. Roma make only a small part of the population in France. But because they roam around, some of them making their living as pickpockets or by begging aggressively, they are controversial.

FULL FACIAL VEIL FRACAS IN FRANCE

I noticed this part especially….

The confrontation quickly escalated into a shoving match, with several dozen young bystanders joining in and carloads of police reinforcements speeding up to lend a hand. Before long it erupted into what was described in the National Assembly in Paris as a riot, during which a female police officer was bitten on the arm and two of her male colleagues were bashed and bruised.

NOTE: Biting is traditional way Muslim females express themselves when angered. The Sowdy princess, Deema Turki al-Saud allegedly bit her staff on a regular basis. Read the report here.

MARSEILLE, France — Though it was almost midnight, streets were full of Muslim families taking a stroll after breaking the Ramadan fast with a late dinner. As two policemen drove by a storefront recycled as the Grand Sunna Mosque, they noticed a woman wearing flowing black robes and a full-face veil.

The policemen alighted from their patrol car and challenged the woman on her veil, which has been illegal in France since April 2011. After an angry exchange, police said later, the woman shouted that she would not abide by the anti-veil law, and a youth told police they had no business patrolling the neighborhood and accosting its predominantly Muslim residents.

Bordeaux: Revealed plans for the construction of a salafist mosque

An original translation by Michael Laudahn:

From This site:

Works for the planned fundamentalist mosque at Bordeaux.

The blowing of the cover on plans for the construction of a salafist mosque in the city’s La Bastide quarter so far kept secret has triggered irate reactions in the southern french city of Bordeaux. Local paper Sud-Ouest revealed on top that the Bordeaux maire was informed about plans to establish a prayer room by the islamists, but did not wish to inform the local population accordingly.

A resident interviewed by Info Bordeaux explained his concerns: ‘Next to the mega-mosque project initiated by the city of Bordeaux, a few steps from here, now we are expected to also live to see that fundamentalists nest in our neighborhood. It’s enough!’ Now the neighbors have assembled in an irate-citizens initiative (‘Collectif d’habitants de la Bastide en colère’), which made the public prick their ears with their ‘La Bastide fundamentalist mosque, no thanks’ appeal.

In their flyer, the interior minister is being invited ‘to stop this project. […] The government has the means to forbid this fundamentalist mosque, but what it lacks is the courage to do so.’ Further, the citizens initiative warns: ‘If they pretend not to hear our demands, then we will find means and ways to make ourselves heard.’

The Front National’s regional secretary, Jacques Colombier, declared: ‘This new islamic cult site is unacceptable. Salafists are not above the law, and [mayor] Alain Juppé must prohibit this illegal installation, because it is being established without a permit. The Front National is utterly unruly with regard to the stealth Islamization and the growing number of mosques in our region. We are not in Saudi Arabia here.’

There has been support from an unexpected side for the patriotic Front National and the irate citizens: The socialist deputy Naïma Charaï considers the situation ‘alarming, because salafists develop a dangerous discourse’.

‘Roubaix [France]: Veiled woman refuses ID control, attacks police’

An original translation by Michael Laudahn:

Ladepeche.Fr

According to information by the Voix du Nord, an identity check saturday afternoon at Roubaix degenerated. A young woman aged 18 wearing the the total veil [voile intégral] did not accept to be controlled by a specialised local team patrolling the city.

When the forces of order demanded that she present her identity papers and to lift her veil, in order to verify if her face corresponded to the photo, the young woman continued to walk. She also explained to police, while putting on an additional veil, that she did not have the time, and did not want to present her identity paper.

When police officers decided to take her to the police station, in order to execute an identification procedure, the totally veiled woman grabbed the vehicle and debated by kicking, punching and shouting. According to a source close to the investigation, the young woman also tried to bite and treat an officer to several side blows, during the manual scanning before her being taken into police custody. No police officer was injured.

Mustards unhappy with new French government they picked.

Ever see a headline that said, ‘Muslims satisfied with xxxx?’

Didn’t think so.

Note to Canadian politicians. If you think you can curry favour with the Muslims for their votes it is a curry that bites back. Best to stick to selling Western values and defending them. It may be harder, but it has long term advantage.
