An Iranian and an Afghani burn a Koran. IN IRAN.

Now these guys have gonads of Teflon. Ill see if I can get a translation for titles. But the Washington Times says it was about their protest of all the nonsense the Islamic world does over this kind
of thing.

These two guys are my heroes.

Below, the Times explanation:

Two anonymous young men in Iran, one Iranian and one Afghan, have burned a Koran in protest. This seven-and-a-half minute long video shows the two men, their faces obscured, holding the Muslim holy book and reading prepared statements. Afterwards they stand the Koran on a flat rock, douse it alcohol and light it. One of them hoots and laughs. The book burns fiercely, and after a few moments one of them sprays more alcohol into the flames. The video ends with them warming their hands over the blazing book.

Radical Cleric’s ‘Outrage’ Over French Ban

The radical cleric Anjem Choudary has been permanently banned from entering France, Sky News has learned.

SKYNEWS… The former head of the now outlawed group Islam4UK was stopped with a coach load of his followers as he arrived in the French port of Calais this afternoon.

He had been heading to Paris for a demonstration against the French Government’s controversial decision to ban women from wearing the burka.

The legislation outlawing the full Islamic face veil comes into effect on Monday.

Mr Choudary was detained briefly by French border officials, who handed him a legal notice informing him that the Minister of Interior had decided to deny him entry into France on a permanent basis.

The document cites his membership of the banned groups Islam4UK and Al-Muhajiroun, which he jointly led with the Cleric Omar Bakri Mohammed.

The actions of the French authorities today will only entrench Muslims more in their belief that sovereignty must belong to God alone and any challenge against this will be resisted and rejected. Continue Reading →

    A senior member of the BNP who burned a copy of the Qur’an in his garden has been arrested following an investigation by the Observer.

    Footage of the burning shows Sion Owens, 40, from south Wales and a candidate for the forthcoming Welsh Assembly elections, soaking the Qur’an in kerosene and setting fire to it.

    A video clip of the act, leaked to the Observer and passed immediately to South Wales police, provoked fierce criticism from the government. Continue Reading →

Bill Maher on the Koran burning

I would like to add my own thoughts to all these people who dismiss Pastor Jones as some kind of kook or intolerant fringe nutbag.

In the 1960s, huge numbers of women burned their brassieres as symbols of oppression of women. I would challenge each and every women who did that, and every person who agrees or even understands that action to read the Koran and tell me which is the larger symbol of the oppression of women. Keep in mind, that it is a safe bet that every one of those women who burned their bras were wearing one again within a year or two, if not that afternoon.

I don’t know everyone has seemingly missed this guy but he is the most creative despoiler of koran’s I have yet seen. He makes my Korandle pale by comparison. He has done a video every single day since what looks to be January of this year, way before the current Afghan riots, with a new idea each time. Some, too vulgar to write out here, and of course these are the most viewed, and some funny and some banal, but all good solid desecration of Islam’s ‘holy’ book.

This much work I figure deserves an award so I invented the first annual…

Black University Students Call Use of ‘Israeli Apartheid’ False, Offensive

Through a number of ads appearing in college newspapers on campuses that saw Israeli Apartheid Week activity, a group of African American students lambasted Israel Apartheid week organizers for abusing the term.

In the ads entitled “Words Matter” which appeared on April 7, members of The Vanguard Leadership Group accuses Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) of a “false and deeply offensive” characterization of Israel.

“SJP has chosen to manipulate rather than inform with this illegitimate analogy,” Vanguard says in the ad, signed by its members attending a number of black colleges. “We request that you immediately stop referring to Israel as an apartheid society and to acknowledge that the Arab minority in Israel enjoys full citizenship with voting rights and representation in the government.”

Vanguard, a leadership development group for students from historically black universities, has recently built a relationship with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, with many members visiting Israel.

Ann is excellent here as she is in her now viral youtube video about the burning of the Koran and subsequent riots, but I have to take issue with her admonishment of Western men for lack of action. Overwhelmingly it is men who are fighting Islamic nutbags world wide, and frankly, women fought like hell for decades to emasculate men and reshape the relationship between the sexes. I’m sorry you don’t like the results. But the results you see, are the results you created. You, and women across the western world. Now you better step up to the plate and take your share of the responsibility now that you have taken more than your share of the privilege and wealth.

Residents in Ashkelon reported Thursday seeing Israel’s new Iron Dome defense system intercept a Grad rocket fired towards the southern city from the Gaza Strip.

Eyewitnesses told Ynet they saw the rocket explode in midair and realized that the system had intercepted its first rocket.

Moshe Ben Hemo, a resident of Ashkelon, said, “I was in the street and I heard a strange sound, like someone pushing the gas pedal of a car. Then I saw the rocket fly through the air and explode. Immediately I realized that it was Iron Dome, that’s what has been said here.”

He added that the rocket alert had not been set off. “The rocket was apparently supposed to explode in Ashkelon. In any case I’m glad the system works,” he said.

After hitting a student bus traveling through Shaar Hanegev Regional Council Thursday, critically wounding a 16-year old boy and lightly injuring the driver, terrorists in Gaza fired more than 15 rockets and mortar shells at Israel. No further injuries were reported.

Ashkelon’s Iron Dome system was set up just Monday, with soldiers running extensive tests to make sure it was functioning properly. Another system was set up earlier in Beersheba.

The defense establishment decided to place the system earlier than planned due to the recent escalation of violence in the south. It has already been set up in Haifa, and in the coming weeks officials plan to put it in place in central Israel as well.

What happens when Everyguy Icon Bill O’Reilly pushes the calamitous absurdity that Pastor Terry Jones “has blood on his hands,” and Hezbollah puts a $2.4 million bounty on Jones’ head?

We don’t know.

We do know the epic scale of invective hurled at Jones the world over has helped turn  this American citizen who has broken no law but Islam’s into a moving target. But it has also objectified a human being. When Jones is gratuitously disparaged as a “kook,” a “nut,” an “insane Christian” (as O’Reilly said), and much, much worse for his (perfectly logical) symbolic act of putting on trial  and burning a copy of a book that codifies conquest and enslavement, supremacism and bigotry, Jones is making a statement. Just as Fitna made a statement. Just as the Pope’s Regensberg Address made a statement. Just as the publication — and particularly the re-publication — of the Danish Motoons made a statement. These statements vary but none of them violate legal, peaceful means of expression. None of them caused the murder and mayhem many Muslims engaged in in illegal and violent and Islamically sanctioned reaction. Geert Wilders is no more responsible for the murders of two Dutch soldiers in Afghanistan following the release of Fitna than the Pope is responsible for the murder of an elderly nun in Somalia following his Regensberg Address than Pastor Jones is responsible for the murders of UN personnel and others in Afghanistan following his Koran-burning act — heretofore unnoticed, by the way, until Hamid Karzai publicly denounced it and called for Jones’ arrest.  (It would be most interesting to know the hidden chain of events that drew Karzai into this.)

But just as the nature of the Islamic world is revealed by its reaction to these peaceful if robust critiques, so, too, is the nature of the Western world revealed. It is an ugly thing. Like Pavlovic  robots, our dhimmified, mentally besieged peoples rush to protect Islam, to ward off “disrespect” of its chief symbol — its “holy” book —  like primitives engaging in a communal fetish. In so doing, they desert our un-Islamic, indeed, anti-Islamic freedoms, leaving them unguarded and devalued. In the case of Jones, a rural preacher with a big mustache, they isolate and dehumanize a man at the margins of the public square they dominate. Our elites, our leaders, society at large have thus marked Jones for discard with the 21st-century equivalent of a scarlet letter “A” (apostasy  against sharia). Such objectified contempt, as history shows us, is a perilous state of being

But note: Just as society objectifies Jones the living, breathing human being, society endows the book, the thing, the object he burned in protest with a spirit, rights, even a sensitive nature that demands the utmost consideration and respect of all.

Culture Check 2011: Jones the Man is spurned and objectified. The Koran the Thing is elevated, anthropomorpized, made … incarnate.

We are way into the danger zone.

I have had numerous arguments, some with friends, on the nature of the EDL. Some of whom have refused to look at any actual evidence on them, deciding instead that they are a low-down organization of thugs and that’s all their is too it. One of them actually yelled at me and said “If I support the EDL then I am yesterdays man” and that was the end of that.

I prefer investigation to intolerance and prejudice myself.

Add this to the numerous articles and press releases from various UK security agencies admitting that most, if not all, the violence at rallies by the EDL have been started and sustained by either Muslims or the leftists of the self named, ‘Anti-fa’ and one begins to get a pretty good idea of who the EDL is, and what they are about. I wish them all the luck in the world and all the support I can offer.

Below, I am posting links to a 2-part video by a gal in Colorado named Ann Barnhardt whom I am most pleased to call a fellow citizen — as opposed to such fellow citizens as the craven Lindsey Graham, the battle-stressed David Petraeus and the Islamophile Barack Obama (?), to name a few of the most prominent dhimmis functioning in and dominating the public space.

About that public space: It’s extremely hard to get a word in there — hard to stand out against the static, hard to punch through the murk of propaganda and appeasement that serves as an excuse for news and policy. Punching through becomes the work of activists, lightning rods, so-called “zealots,” people whom it is all too easy for gloss-encased, college-pedigreed elites to dismiss as “nuts,” and worse. Random, recent examples here, here.

But, folks — due to the emergency crisis in our leadership, civilian and military, professional and clerical, and their total surrender to Islam, as evidenced never before more gut-wrenchingly than in this latest Afghan-massacre-queued capitulation by the presidency (no surprise, obviously), by the military command, by the Congress, by  the media, by the undefinable but still perceptible “consensus” — we are down to these supposed “nuts” and lightning rods. God bless them and America.

The fact is, I could write a (relatively) non-“nutty” syndicated column a week for 10 years on the copiously, redundantly, patently documented evils of Islam (gee, come to think of it …). I could get lots of supportive mail that I deeply appreciate, refine my arguments, work on a book or two (half) on related subjects, give talks at home and even abroad — and what. Nothing changes. No ignition — except, of course, that of the country, which continues, hell-in-handbasket-style, to go up in smoke, which is a far stretch worse than a single copy of the Koran burning; or, as our dhimmified, diss-able “leaders” prefer, aping the “a la mode,” the holy Qu’ran.
