A majority of Canadians believes conflict between Western nations and the Muslim world is “irreconcilable,” according to a new national survey that revealed a strong strain of pessimism in the country leading up to Sunday’s 10th anniversary commemorations of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the U.S. Continue Reading →

Remembering And Re-posting September 11.

While many people died in the atrocities in 2001, we tend to remember most the Twin Towers falling.

Many of us watched it happening in real time, even myself here in Melbournistan, Australia.

Seven years after the event, the enormity of it is something that never leaves; perhaps that really was the end of history as we know it, rather than the year 2000.

For someone with the gift of the gab, this is one that renders me nearly speechless, and so I will just leave you with a comment of the frollicking mole’s from Tim Blair’s old blog:

I saw people jumping and never considered it suicide. It was a choice between the auto-de-fe of the islamists or the quick death of their own making.
They made a CHOICE not to die by burning, I only hope they closed their eyes and thought back to when they were 5 and could fly….

In the interests of tolerance, diversity and multiculturalism, and for those who think that America (we) deserved 9/11:

I hope you fucking rot in hell.

God bless America and her martyrs.

Libs, PCs dodge Muslim school prayer flap

To be clear, the prayers in school is banned by federal and provincial laws. This is not a matter of school boards deciding what is best for their students any more than domestic violence is about a man deciding what is best for his wife, or vice versa as the case sometimes is.

So the answers these politicians are giving is not only cowardly, but actually refusal to enforce laws and laws by the way, which to this day are still being enforced against Christians in Ontario public schools.

“I’m a strong supporter in school boards making those kinds of decisions,” McGuinty said Friday during a campaign stop in Newmarket. “I have faith in the ability of our school boards to manage these kinds of things.”

PC Leader Tim Hudak told Sun News Network’s Roundtable that principals and school boards have the best understanding of their students.

“They know the cultures of their schools,” Hudak said. “(I’ll leave) school boards and principals to make these types of decisions on what’s appropriate … I think that’s the way you approach this.” Continue Reading →

Vancouver hookah shops challenging city bylaw against public burning

This is one to watch. I will be very curious to see if the cultural sensitivities of Muslims will be observed and the laws will not apply to them, while the culture of Canadians who built this city and country, (you know the place, the one where millions of Muslims are willing to fly, boat, sneak, lie and in every manner possible from legal or not get into to live) will be ignored. Jut another example of why multiculturalism must not be actual policy. A jurisdiction cannot survive if there are different laws for different groups. It is the recipe for violent revolution.

I personally feel that all bar owners, restaurants and so on have the right to determine if smoking is allowed on their property or not and no, it is NOT public property. Bars are private property where certain members of the public are allowed to go. If a person breaks a leg they hold the owners responsible. If a person gets too drunk and has an accident on the way home the bartender and owner are sued. Another thing with which I disagree, but it is more proof that bars are private space.

Iranian Muslim social clubs should certainly have the right to smoke. At exactly the same time and place as sports bars do so Canadians can watch the hockey game, enjoy a beer and a cigarette if the owner of the bar allows it.

VANCOUVER – Two hookah shop owners are going to court to fight a Vancouver city bylaw they say will put them out of business.

Owners of the Ahwaz Hookah House on Georgia Street and Persia’s Smoke Shop on Davie Street are filing a charter challenge against a bylaw which prohibits the burning of any substance in public places, according to their lawyer.

In 2007, the province passed a law which banned the smoking of tobacco in public places, said the plaintiff’s lawyer, Dean Davison, in a news release.

The owners, both immigrants from Iran, switched from tobacco to a mixture of herbs, fruit and molasses, in order to comply with the new rules.

City officials weren’t satisfied, and passed a bylaw, also in 2007, which banned the smoking of “any substance” in public places, Davison said.

In 2009 the city issued fines against both businesses, Davison said in an email.

“We are fighting those fines.” he said. “If the bylaw is not changed they are out of business.”

Hookahs, according to Davison, are popular social and cultural hubs for many Muslims, who gather around the communal water pipe for discussion, and reflection. It becomes increasingly important during the holy month of Ramadan, when many Muslims come together at hookahs following post-sunset feasts, after days spent fasting.

The owners, which have operated their shops since 2005 and 1999 respectively, are scheduled to go to court late in the fall. They say their charter rights to cultural freedom have been infringed by the bylaw.

Davison said he hopes Vancouver mayor and council will acknowledge the importance of his clients’ cultural traditions before the legal battle ensues.

John Robson on the Muslim rumble at the US amusement park

AT LAST. Someone gets it right. Everytime I watch someone comment on issues Islamic they discuss Islamic law and whether or not it really requires X, Y or Z. They always ignore what really matters. That Muslims are voluntary observers of their faith in Canada, and therefore have choices to make in terms of their observance and what is in contradiction to it.

Thank you John Robson. My ambassador to the obvious. And as I see genius as the ability to see and speak the obvious, that is high praise by my way of thinking.

Classic antisemitism spread (probably) by Shiia Muslims on the streets of Toronto

Blazing sent me this one.

Check the quote at 2:44 its pretty much right out of the ol, Goebbels handbook.

Some of the things said are just Nazi. And I am someone who, since I was a teenager, have disliked that comparison. But when it quacks like a duck…

Ezra Levant on ‘Al Quds day’ in Toronto

This is interesting. I wonder what it is Ezra heard but he can’t repeat. In any case, Michael Coren also covered this event and I should have that video (knock on a trillion electrons) later this evening.

Thanks to Blazing Cat fur, here is an edited version of the ‘Al Quds’ demo and here is a link to a longer version, BTW, neither of which I have watched yet.

“secular fundamentalism.”?

The Muslim invasion of Toronto and unabashed attacks on Canadian laws and values escalates logarithmically. Canada, Ontario, Western liberal and secular democracy, when do we fight back please?

The debate over Muslim prayers at a Toronto school wove its way into Eid al-Fitr celebrations on Tuesday.

Speaking to a crowd of more than 10,000 gathered at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Jamal Badawi, a prominent author on Islam, called attempts to stop the Friday prayers at Valley Park Middle School a form of “secular fundamentalism.”

Critics, including several religious groups, have condemned the school for allowing an imam to conduct prayer services for Muslim students in the cafeteria.

“We strongly support the freedom of faith . . . and prayer in schools. Yes, in schools,” Badawi said to some cheers.

His sermon marked a serious moment in a largely celebratory event marking the end of Ramadan, a month-long fast.

The festival, which includes carnival rides and a bazaar, has been organized by the Muslim Association of Canada for 26 years.

Ahmed Hammam had just immigrated to Canada and was looking for a way to meet other Muslims when he first attended the event two years ago. This year, the Egyptian doctor volunteered as an usher.

“I feel it’s a good deed for me,” Hammam said as he directed worshippers to the prayer area.

Many stopped to wish him “Eid Mubarak,” an Arabic greeting for the holiday. “We treat everyone like a brother and sister here,” he said.

Premier Dalton McGuinty made a brief appearance, thanking the attendees for their contributions to the province’s economy and culture.

“Thank you for opening the eyes of all Ontarians to the beautiful, peaceful, loving faith that is Islam,” he said to loud cheers, adding that the province “thrives on diversity.” Continue Reading →
