Accused: Yusra Farhan was arrested for allegedly beating her daughterAccused: Yusra Farhan was arrested for allegedly beating her daughter

An Iraqi woman has been accused of beating her teenage daughter and padlocking her to a bed after she was seen speaking to a young man.

After Yusra Farhan was arrested in the Arizona hospital where her daughter was being treated for her injuries, she told police she wanted to punish the girl for violating her ‘culture’.

Farhan, 50, faces charges of aggravated assault, unlawful imprisonment and resisting arrest. She was being held in a Maricopa County jail. Police did not identify her daughter by name.

The incident started on Tuesday, when the daughter was spotted by her father talking to a 19-year-old man at a high school parking lot in Phoenix.

Police said her father became angry and took her home, striking her several times.

The mother arrived home later and admitted to hitting her daughter with her hands and a shoe, and tying her to the bed with a rope around her waist that was secured with a padlock, court records showed.

Sunni Islamist extremism Canada’s top security threat: Tories

Al Shabaab militants parade new recruits after arriving in Mogadishu in 2010.

Saying terrorism remained a significant threat, Public Safety Minister Vic Toews unveiled a national counter-terrorism strategy Thursday that put the emphasis on confronting the indoctrination that has led some Canadians to radical violence.

The strategy, meant to guide federal counter-terrorism efforts, identified Sunni Islamist extremism as Canada’s top security threat and committed the government to making communities more “resilient” to the influence of extremist ideologues.

“To succeed, the government’s counter-terrorism efforts cannot be limited to operations directed at groups or individuals already involved in terrorist activities. They must also be reinforced by preventive measures, aimed at keeping vulnerable individuals from being drawn into terrorism,” it read.

Minister of Public Safety Vic Toews speaks during Question Period in the House of Commons Wednesday.

But it revealed few details on how the government would accomplish this, and some critics were skeptical. Mubin Shaikh, who infiltrated the Toronto 18 for the RCMP and CSIS, said the Canadian government was far behind its allies and had not yet forged effective links with influential leaders in communities at risk of radicalization.

He said counter-radicalization had to be done by those with credibility in communities, such as imams who could be encouraged to teach the proper meaning of jihad so their followers don’t misinterpret the concept and use it as a justification for terrorism.

The plan of action is Canada’s first concerted attempt to tackle the radicalization that came to light when the Toronto 18 terrorist group plotted to storm Parliament and detonate truck bombs in downtown Toronto in 2006, with one member suggesting the attacks be conducted under the name al-Qaeda in Canada.

After various Muslim leaders held Jews responsible for the 1986 killing of Muslim Brotherhood leader Ismail Faruqi, a police investigation and a trial demonstrated that the murderer was an American Muslim who suspected Faruqi of having homosexual relationships with his Malaysian students at Temple University in Philadelphia.

In July 1986, a Montreal Gazette reader wrote to the editor to complain that the assassination of Muslim leader Ismail Faruqi in Pennsylvania had been “deliberately left out” of the newspaper. He was particularly upset since Faruqi had been a leading figure of the Montreal Muslim community from 1958 until 1967.

“When a member of the Moslem community is a victim of terrorism, there is no coverage,” he complained. “But you (the media) choose to print news that portrays Moslems as terrorists.”

At the time, this Gazette reader also contacted the Muslim Community of Quebec on Chester Avenue in Montreal (also Canada Revenue Agency) to express his indignation. Agreeing with the Gazette reader, MCQ president Mohammed Amin claimed that the lack of coverage was part of a pattern of “biased reporting of the media in general and of The Gazette in particular.”

Clair Balfour, the Gazette’s ombudsman, rejected the claim of “anti-Muslim bias” (the term Islamophobia had not yet been invented by the Muslim Brotherhood). He concluded that the lack of coverage was understandable given the fact that Faruqi was not an international newsmaker. No major press agencies on which The Gazette relied for its information had alluded to Faruqi’s activities in Montreal, added the ombudsman.

Cook jailed 10 years for strangling wife

Yet another one. Let’s hope one of them owned a really terrific restaurant.

A Toronto cook who strangled his wife while their newborn son lay in a nearby bedroom has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Mizan Ahmed was under a court order not to communicate with his wife, Tahmina Yeasmin, 23, after he was charged with domestic assault.

But he persisted in contacting her, and visited her at the Vanauley Walk apartment — in the Spadina Ave.-Dundas St. W. area — where she and their 10-day-old son still lived with his parents.

Yeasmin was found dead in the apartment bathtub with a scarf, knotted in the middle, around her neck on Aug. 28, 2008. The scarf was left to make it look like she had committed suicide, court heard.

Ahmed’s family reported she had tried to take her own life in the past — by hanging herself in the bathroom — and police at first believed her death was self-inflicted.

But after a pathologist determined her cause of death — ligature neck compression — could have been administered by another person, the homicide squad investigated.

Ahmed, 26, was charged with second-degree murder. In January, he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Cab driver admits giving cash to militant linked to al Qaeda

Yahoo news:

CHICAGO (Reuters) – A Chicago cab driver pleaded guilty on Monday to giving hundreds of dollars to a senior Pakistan-based al Qaeda operative implicated in militant plots in South Asia and Europe who was killed in a suspected U.S. drone strike in June.

Raja Lahrasib Khan, 58, a native of Pakistan who is a naturalized U.S. citizen, never posed any imminent domestic danger, authorities said at the time of his arrest in March 2010.

He remains in federal custody while awaiting sentencing, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office in Chicago. His plea agreement calls for a term of between five and eight years in prison, and he must provide cooperation to the government.

Khan admitted that he met with Ilyas Kashmiri, an alleged leader of both al Qaeda and one of its Pakistan-based affiliates, in Pakistan in the early to mid-2000s and again in 2008.

Khan gave Kashmiri about 20,000 Pakistani rupees or approximately $200 to $250 in 2008, and directed another person to give Kashmiri the equivalent of $300 in 2009, prosecutors said.

Khan, apprehended through a government sting in March 2010, intended the money to be used to support attacks against India, but also knew that Kashmiri was working with al Qaeda, prosecutors said.

Woman’s jail photo initially has her face covered

A woman arrested on a domestic battery charge was initially photographed for her Alachua County jail mug shot in clothing worn by some Muslim women that covered all of her face except her eyes. But she was later rephotographed to show her face in accordance with jail policies, officials said.

The woman, LaFleur Mauvette Mohamed, 38, did not want to discuss the matter when contacted by The Sun on Friday.

Mohamed was arrested Wednesday for reportedly wrestling her daughter over a cellphone. Her daughter reported to police that Mohamed slapped her, but Mohamed denied that, according to the arrest report.

Sheriff’s spokesman Art Forgey said the jail booking staffer who took the initial mug shot erred on the side of caution over concern about religious freedom and allowed Mohamed’s face to be covered.

“They didn’t want to step on anybody’s rights. Once a supervisor saw that, another photo was taken,” Forgey said. “There is a policy that everyone who comes into the jail is photographed and fingerprinted for identification purposes.”

Washington Imam: US Muslims live under Nazi-style oppression

This is classic. Muslims somehow successfully manage to play both the victim, and the ‘we are 1.7 billion strong and control all the worlds oil’ card simultaneously.

Now they claim to be the ‘New Jews’ but in America where mosques are growing like mushrooms.

From ABNA.IR

he oppression of Muslims in the United States has become similar to the mistreatment Jews experienced in Nazi Germany in the 1930s, said a US-based Imam.

Washington Imam: US Muslims live under Nazi-style oppression(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) – The oppression of Muslims in the United States has become similar to the mistreatment Jews experienced in Nazi Germany in the 1930s, said a US-based Imam.

“This is the atmosphere we live in. These are the environmental circumstances that we encounter as we try to practice our daily Islam,” Abdul Alim Musa, the Imam of Masjid Al-Islam in Washington, DC, told in an interview conducted on Thursday local time on the US East Coast.

That has turned many Muslims into “government informers” and reinforced the “state of suspicion and paranoia” in which Muslims live, Musa added.

Woman in full disguise sues Florida gas station for refusing her service

It is very important how this is argued and handled. This is a classic case of a Muslim making the claim that she should be allowed to run willy nilly over everyone else’s rights so that she may do anything she wishes if she can link it to her superstition.

If I walk into a gas station with a pair of 45 Cal revolvers and they call the police, are they violating my rights as a person who once visited Texas and liked it? The analogy is flawless. This women, if indeed it is a woman, was denied service not for anything she believes, but because she was wearing a disguise. She can believe the ocean is pink lemon aid if she wants but she cannot be covered from head to toe and expect to receive full service from everyone, especially when wearing a disguise is, in most places, illegal.

Once again, the answer to this debate is not to create more soft totalitarianism by asking governments to regulate women’s clothing. It is to stop making exceptions for Muslims to break the laws we already have.

Remember. Every-time we ask government to regulate issues that government have no business being involved with, even though it seems like a great idea at the time, it always ends badly. Just like the ‘hate speech laws’ that everyone figured would prevent another holocaust against the Jews, and now clearly are being better utilized by Muslims working towards one at every level up to and perhaps especially at the U.N.

Vandals cause major damage to under-construction mosque

After you read the story below, do a quick google search of violence against this sect, the Ahmadiyya and check who in all cases actually did it. Let’s see if CAIR publicizes the culprits when caught.

My bet is no.

The construction site of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Mosque in Chantilly, Virginia. Authorities say the mosque was attacked by vandals. Tuesday, Jan 31, 2012

Fairfax County police believe young people consumed alcohol and then extensively vandalized the outside of an under-construction mosque this past weekend, causing as much as $80,000 worth of damage.

Around 8:40 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to the construction site of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Mosque, located at 4555 Ahmadiyya Drive in Chantilly. They found major damage to the mosque’s exterior but no sign that it had been entered.

Police said they also found several discarded alcohol containers at the site.

There is no evidence so far to suggest that the incident is a hate crime, according to police spokesman Officer Bud Walker.

The incident is being investigated as a destruction of property incident, but police are considering all options, he added.

Usman Ghumman, general secretary for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s local chapter, said that construction was being done at the site through Sunday afternoon. But when he arrived on-site Monday morning, all the windows and the door windows had been smashed in. It looked like rocks and masonry stones had been thrown through the windows, which were custom-designed and specially manufactured.

Lowell Green show, Jan 30 2012

This was not a fire and brimstone show. No Muslims calling and accusing Lowell or Canada of crimes or the various usual telephone-tree Muslim apologists trying to anesthetize us all about Islam and Islamic immigration.

I post it as a kind of barometer. The callers are stunningly more educated about the facts of Islam than a couple of short years ago. It makes good background listening in that context. It was not that long ago that if the issue of Islam, burkas or honour killings were raised, nearly every caller was furious with any position other than total embrace of Islam.
