The usual gag: Adherents of the Religion of Peace plan to blow up Danish newspaper, who had the audacity of making a cartoon these adherents didn’t appreciate. Primary goal of this planned expedition to kill as many infidels as possible before becoming Shaheeds.

PET have today arrested four men in London suspected of preparing a terrorist attack against Jyllands-Posten in Copenhagen.

It informs Security Intelligence Service (PET) in a press release that has just been released.

Arrests took place partly in an apartment on Mørkhøjvej in Herlev, partly in an apartment in Hedelyparken in Greve. Prior to the arrests has been prolonged monitoring and investigation, which has been implemented in close cooperation between the Swedish security police (Sapo) and PET.

From Sweden to Denmark in the night
Three of the arrested men residing in Sweden and Denmark entered the night of the 28th and 29 December. These are:

A 44-year-old Tunisian national.
A 29-year-old Swedish citizen born in Lebanon.
A 30-year-old Swedish citizen whose origin is unknown so far.
The last of those arrested have resided in Denmark. It is about a 26-year-old Iraqi asylum seeker.

While arrests in Denmark, the Swedish authorities in Stockholm arrested a 37-year-old Swedish citizen of Tunisian origin, according to PET’s press release.

Attack “one of these days”

PET estimates that those arrested were in the process of preparing a terrorist attack directed against a newspaper, “after the pet’s view, the Jyllands-Posten in Copenhagen”. The attack was to be implemented within the next few days, assesses PET.

In connection with arrests in Denmark carried out searches under which, among other things seized plastic strips that can be used as handcuffs and a gun with associated silencer and live ammunition.

PET head: Militant Islamists

“With the arrests we have managed to avert an imminent terrorist attack in which several of the suspects who may be described as Islamic militants with links to international terror networks for PET’s view would try to penetrate the JP / Politiken Hus in Copenhagen and kill as many as possible of the persons present, “said the head of PET, Jakob Scharf.

“Arrests underlines the seriousness of the terrorist threat that is directed against Denmark and especially against the institutions and persons associated with signs inge affair. When it has been possible to avert the concrete terrorist plans, due to the extensive and very intensive exploration efforts in both Sweden and Denmark and not least a highly effective collaboration between the Swedish security police and the Danish intelligence service, “says Jacob Scharf.

Grundlovsfrohør tomorrow

The four arrested will be produced in the preliminary hearing to require detention in the case, said PET. Those arrested are facing charges of attempted terrorism after the Penal Code § 114, see § 21

The planned terror attacks is PET’s perception averted as a result of arrests and the case does not lead to a changed assessment of the terror threat against Denmark, adding PET.

PET continues investigations into the matter in cooperation with Copenhagen Western Zodiac Police and the relevant Swedish authorities.

Perhaps more arrests

“It can not be excluded that in connection with the continuing investigation of the case will be no further arrests,” said PET in the press release.

PET will hold a brief news conference at. 17.00, where PET chief Jakob Scharf and head of Sapo, Anders Danielsson, will report on the arrests.

Pope condemns Christmas Day violence

When is the press going to stop calling these people ‘radical’ or ‘extremist’? The issue is that they are Muslim and that is why they are doing this.

At least 38 people were killed in Nigeria and six wounded in the Philippines over the festive period in attacks targeting churches and Christmas shoppers.

Pope Benedict XVI, told pilgrims and tourists in St Peter’s Square that he was saddened by the attacks on Christians and a suicide bomb attack in Peshawar, Pakistan which claimed 40 lives.

“I want to express my heartfelt sorrow for the victims of these absurd acts of violence and repeat an appeal to abandon the path of hate and seek instead peaceful solutions to conflicts, ” he said.

“The earth is once again stained with blood as we have seen in other parts of the world.”

A week ago, he said Christians are now the world’s most persecuted religious group and lamented that some had to risk their lives to practise their faith. Continue Reading →

VANCOUVER—More than 100 Canadian-Arab Christians are listed on an Al Qaeda-affiliated website, apparently targeted because of their alleged role in attempting to convert Muslims.

Some of those named say concerned Canadian intelligence officials have contacted them.

The Shumukh-al-Islam website, often considered to be Al Qaeda’s mouth piece, listed pictures, addresses and cellphone numbers of Coptic Christians, predominantly Egyptian-Canadians, who have been vocal about their opposition to Islam.

Daniel Arrospide’s article from Islam in Europe

Translated by Islam in Europe, an interview with the Swedish politician in the video posted a couple of days ago here on Vlad

Daniel Arrospide’s article (SE):

What I saw at the mosque at the Medborgarplatsen scares me

It is with great sadness that I write this article. Now, when Sweden has become the target for its first terrorist attack, is the time for politicians to know the consequences of not addressing integration policy.

For half a year I infiltrated the mosque at Medborgarplatsen-Stockholm, and what I found there really scared me. The government’s and parliament’s unwillingness to rehabilitate the Million Programme [ed: low-cost housing projects]has led to militant Muslims having a recruiting base in Sweden. It’s very easy for them to recruit somebody who is unemployed, doesn’t know the language and lives in a poor neighborhood. They promise to give them a lot of family to their family if they die in the name of Allah.

The statement from the Imam and the Swedish Islamic Association is just a game for the gallery. They have completely lost control over the ‘communities’ in Sweden. The fact is that people from the al-Qaeda terrorist network are recruiting Swedish Muslims of all ages on an on-going basis for the holy war of Jihad.

The imam knows precisely who they are and could have easily contacted SÄPO, but chose not to do this. I could never understand why, despite my attempt to find out. I’m not claiming that he indirectly supported this, but sometimes I wondered..

I had went to the mosque for almost six months, and there I had contact with somebody who called himself “Samir”. I don’t know if that was his real name. In any case he started speaking Arabic with me, but I told him that my Arabic wasn’t so good. He asked me why and I told him that my parent’s wanted to be Swedish and therefore didn’t teach me Arabic. I asked ‘Samir’ where he lived, and was told Rinkeby. We continued talking about the USA, the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. I got the impression that he wanted to do something about it. After a while he asked me if I wanted to be ‘active’, in that case I could come home with him to Rinkeby and talk with somebody who would go down. They will pay you very well. I said no and then he stopped talking to me. He threatened to kill me if I went to the police and talked. I stopped going to the mosque after the conversation I had with ‘Samir’. Continue Reading →

Muslim Genocide of Christians Throughout Middle East

by Khaled Abu Toameh

http://www.hudson-ny.org/1685/muslim-genocide-of-christians

It is obvious by now that the Christians in the Middle East are an “endangered species.”

Christians in Arab countries are no longer being persecuted; they are now being slaughtered and driven out of their homes and lands.

Those who for many years turned a blind eye to complaints about the persecution of Christians in the Middle East now owe the victims an apology. Now it is clear to all that these complaints were not “Jewish propaganda.”

The war of genocide against Christians in the Middle East can no longer be treated as an “internal affair” of Iraq or Egypt or the Palestinians. What the West needs to understand is that radical Islam has declared jihad not only against Jews, but also against Christians. Continue Reading →

Al-Qaeda vows to “bleed enemy to death”

Below is an article from Al Arabya.net. However if you want a little insight into Al Qaeda especially AQ in the Islamic Magreb, AKA AQIM check out the latest edition of their glossy hate mag, ‘Inspire’ by clicking here. Not that I recommend this as regular reading or anything but its nice to have direct evidence of what the enemy thinks of, and plans for, us.

Yemen-based branch promises more parcel bombs

HONG KONG/WASHINGTON (Agencies)

The Yemen-based branch of al-Qaeda has vowed to continue attacks against the West such as last month’s cargo plane parcel bombs, in a “strategy of a thousand cuts” that will “bleed the enemy to death”, a monitoring group said.

Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) said the packages it put aboard freight planes bound for the U.S. in late October were never intended to cause mass casualties, but were aimed at creating maximum economic damage.

The group said the parcels, which were intercepted by security officials in Dubai and Britain, were part of “Operation Hemorrhage” a plan that had cost just $4,200 to mount.

This strategy of attacking the enemy with smaller, but more frequent operations is what some may refer to as the strategy of a thousand cuts. The aim is to bleed the enemy to death

“When we have 5 million Muslims in the country … if we have 1 in 10,000 that decides to turn to violence that makes for a healthy reservoir.”

Five Muslims arrested for planning terror attack in France. And shame on Stratfor for not mentioning that those arrested were Islamic, as if that doesn’t matter at all.

From Yahoo News:

Five terror suspects arrested in Paris this week are suspected of conspiring to launch an attack in France and one of them was prepared to die, Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux said on Wednesday. Skip related content

France is on heightened alert for a terror attack after al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden targeted the country for the first time in a recent speech and endorsed the capture of five French nationals by the group’s North African wing.

Hortefeux said the terror threat remained “real” and “elevated” following the arrest on Monday and Tuesday of five suspects, all of whom were French including one woman, at Charles de Gaulle airport and in the greater Paris region.

“What we can say is that, over the last few days with these arrests … there was what we call a conspiracy (to) prepare a terror attack,” he told reporters at a Paris train station.

“Some of them were ready to die in their fanatical act,” he said, later clarifying only one appeared willing to die.

The Eiffel Tower and surrounding area was evacuated in late September and again shortly after that.

Security officials have tightened their surveillance of potential targets such as airports and train stations since September, when police received a tip-off that a female suicide bomber was preparing to attack the Paris metro system.

While the tip-off did not result in an arrest, Hortefeux has kept up a steady drumbeat of warnings about a possible attack, recently citing information from Saudi Arabia that al Qaeda was plotting to strike in France.

“It’s a real and permanent threat,” said Alain Chouet former chief of the DGSE, France’s foreign intelligence service. “When we have 5 million Muslims in the country … if we have 1 in 10,000 that decides to turn to violence that makes for a healthy reservoir.” Continue Reading →

Failed Al Qaeda plot involved sewing bombs inside dogs

See Spot explode!

Al Qaeda operatives in Iraq tried to unleash deadly terror in the skies by deploying a pair of kamikaze canines on a US-bound plane, a French newspaper reports.

The diabolical plot failed because the bombs were so badly stitched inside the poor pooches that they died, said the respected Paris daily Le Figaro.

“This case illustrates the determination of al Qaeda militants, who are trying to circumvent terrorism controls by any means,” French criminologist Christophe Naudin, an aviation security expert, told the newspaper.

RUH-ROH! Al Qaeda evildoers took advantage of Americans' sympathy for suffering dogs in Iraq to plant bombs in US-bound pooches -- and they would have gotten away with it, too, if not for some meddlingGIs.

OMAR KHADR HAS 40 YEAR SENTENCE REDUCED TO EIGHT YEARS

Killing the infidel

comes at a cheap price

“Former Army Sgt. Layne Morris, who lost an eye in the firefight that captured Khadr, said he was concerned that an eight-year sentence put the Canadian “on frankly the fast-track to freedom” and “the prime of his life.”

Layne Morris is right, jihadi Khadr has been placed on the fast track to freedom and an eventual suicide-homicide run against the infidel. A numerous amount of former Gitmo jihadi inmates have returned to the fight and there is not one person who can reasonably assure us that this dirtbag won’t do the same. 40 years wasn’t enough, that it was reduced to 8, is a travesty of justice. KGS

GUANTANAMO BAY NAVY BASE, Cuba — A military jury on Sunday gave teen terrorist Omar Khadr a 40-year prison sentence for killing an American commando in Afghanistan, but the sentence was merely symbolic — the United States already had agreed to limit Khadr’s prison time to eight years, and Canada last week said it would allow Khadr to serve the bulk of his sentence there.

Canada had been cagey in public about its agreement to the deal, under which Khadr pleaded guilty to war crimes. But the military judge at Khadr’s trial on Sunday released an exchange of diplomatic notes between the U.S. and Canadian governments that included Canada’s assertion that it “is inclined to favourably consider Mr. Khadr’s application to be transferred to Canada to serve the remainder of his sentence” or whichever portion Canada’s National Parole Board decides is required.

The note was signed by the Canadian Embassy on Oct. 23, with no name attached.
That agreement will allow Khadr to be released from prison by age 32, if not earlier under Canadian parole provisions.

Khadr, 24, looked straight ahead when the jury foreman announced the 40-year sentence. The widow of his victim, Tabitha Speer, 40, cheered “yes,” and then wept.

“He will forever be a murderer my eyes,” Speer said.

The 40-year sentence, even though it will never be enforced, provided a sense of finality, she said — along with assurances that Khadr would never be allowed to enter the United States or ride on an airplane.

The seven-officer jury was unaware that Khadr’s sentence had already been set before they began deliberating Saturday.

Jurors were told only that Guantánamo’s youngest captive had pleaded guilty to five war crimes, including hurling the grenade that mortally wounded Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Speer, 28, during a July 2002 assault on an al Qaeda compound. Khadr was 15.

The prosecution sought a 25-year sentence. Defense lawyers recommended repatriation.

In a rebuke, the jury said he should be imprisoned until age 64.

The Toronto-born Khadr also admitted that, in the days ahead of his capture, he planted mines intended to maim or kill U.S. and allied forces. He was captured near dead, treated by U.S. forces and sent to Guantánamo soon after his 16th birthday.

The Pentagon’s Chief War Crimes Prosecutor, Navy Capt. John F. Murphy, said he made the eight-year plea deal with Khadr to secure the certainty of a conviction for the victims of the so-called “child-soldier.”

A United Arab Emirates flight carrying cargo from Yemen has landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport alongside two military fighter jets that escorted the plane from the Canadian border to New York City.

U.S. officials said there is no known threat associated with the plane, but it was being escorted to John F. Kennedy International Airport as a cautionary move.

Earlier in the day, federal authorities determined that suspicious packages taken from a cargo plane at Newark Liberty International Airport and a truck in Brooklyn and two planes in Philadelphia do not pose any danger.

Police in Brooklyn surrounded a UPS truck on Friday after suspecting that there was an explosive device, but the package turned out to be an envelope containing receipts, New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said in a press briefing.

The Boeing Co. 767 jet, which landed at Newark Liberty Airport, originated from East Midlands, U.K. It was later cleared to leave for Louisville, Kentucky.

“There was nothing threatening in that package,” said Steve Coleman, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. “It’s not suspicious anymore.”

Coleman said the package was inspected inside the UPS cargo facility, 350, and cleared about 12:10 p.m. He referred additional questions to the FBI. The FBI referred questions to the Transportation Security Administration.

“This is bigger than us,” Coleman said.

The White House says President Barack Obama was notified about a potential terrorist threat after suspicious packages were discovered aboard two airplanes bound for the U.S. and a statement is expected at 4:15 p.m.

The Newark incident did not impact flight operations at Newark Liberty Airport.

At the UPS terminal, there are no more emergency vehicles remaining. Earlier, there were eight Port Authority vehicles and a helicopter hovering in the general area.

The plane screenings were prompted after authorities in the U.K. on Thursday discovered a “manipulated” ink toner cartridge that was on a UPS flight bound for Chicago. The flight originated in Yemen, and authorities on Friday were focusing on cargo flights from Yemen, CNN reported.

There are conflicting reports whether the cartridge contained explosives. CNN is reporting that the United States received a tip from an ally that the device might have been destined for synagogue in Chicago. Continue Reading →
