IAF Targets Terrorist Launching Rocket in the Gaza Strip

It seems like just yesterday when Hamas called a ceasefire.

Oh wait, yeah, it was yesterday. Seems these guys following the perfect example of Mohamed, can’t keep their own word for even 24 hours. Oh wait, sorry.

They can’t go 24 hours without ‘abrogating’ their own word.

From the IDF Blog:

A short while ago, IAF aircraft targeted a terrorist in the northern Gaza Strip, during final preparations to fire a rocket at Israel. A hit was confirmed.

During the past week over 150 rockets hit Israel.

The IDF will not tolerate any attempt by terrorist groups to target Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers, and will continue to operate against those who use terror against the State of Israel. The Hamas terror organization is solely responsible for any terrorist activity emanating from the Gaza Strip.

BRIEFING BY IDF FOREIGN PRESS BRANCH, LT.COL AVITAL LEIBOVICH ON THIS MORNING’S TERRORIST ATTACK ON EGYPTIAN BORDER

The TT was just in on a conference call with the IDF Head of the Foreign Press Branch, Lt. Col. Avital Leibovich, and with other bloggers and media, concerning today’s terrorist attack on civilian construction workers building the security fence on the Israeli-Egyptian border.

Hello, good afternoon. Here is the rundown on this morning’s attack. Everything is on the record, I’ll start with a short description. We are talking about number twelve, the Israeli road that’s part of the country. It happened 30 kilometers south of Gaza along side that road.

Two vehicles of construction workers driving along that road shortly after 6am. The area is also called ‘White River Lake’ 30 kilometers south of Gaza. Three terrorists crossed from the Egyptian side of the border into the Israeli side, waiting and hiding on the Israeli side.

They had activated an explosive device as well as an RPG, firing an RPG, as well as a Kalashnikov at those vehicles. The RPG did not hit the cars, however, the Kalashnikov fire and the explosives did hit one of the cars, caused one of the cars to flip over in a near by ditch resulting in the death of one of the construction workers.

A few minutes later one of infantry brigades arrived at the scene and there was an exchange of fire between the soldiers and the squad (of terrorists). There was a big explosion following the exchange of fire. The result of the explosion was two dead terrorists. We understand that one of the terrorists carried upon his body a very large amount of explosives, we have identified two of these terrorists.

We opened just a few minutes ago the road that was called ‘number twelve’ and notified the five communities that are near by who were instructed to stay within their homes for five hours. We ruled out the possibilty of a third terrorist on the Israeli side, that is why we opened up the roads and allowed the movement of the Israelis living there.

There are two things that are actually similar, another event that happened a bit further from there on the Israeli-Egyptian border last year in August. The first thing twas the gear that the terrorists carried upon them was of top quality. They had flack jackets, helmets, they had camouflaged uniforms with Kalashnikovs like I said.

The second thing is that there is a high probability that part of the squad (terrorists) was made on the Egyptian side. Very similar to the events that happened last August. I can also tell you that, ten minutes ago, a separate event, we noticed a separate squad of two terrorists, Beit Chanun area,  a part of Gaza and we targeted them.

Over all 280 rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel from the beginning of 2012, ten of them from this month.

Q & A

Q: There are rumours that the rockets fired from Gaza on Saturday were oredered by the Muslim Brotherhood. Anything to that?

A: Too early to reach any solid conclusions. There are numerous terror organizations in the Sinai and quite a few in Gaza as well. Presently we do not know who’s behind the launching of the two rockets on Saturday.

Q: Any idea as to who the terrorists belong to today?

A: I can tell you that we have informed intelligence to investigate any possible link to organizations inside Gaza. We don’t have a conformation at this point.

Q: Were these construction workers working on the fence between Israel and Egypt?

A: Yes 180 kilometers were complete from this portion. Actually the portion of fence where it happened had already been built there, but there were some areas that were still incomplete. I think that by the end of this year the rest of the 40 kilometers will be complete.

I can tell you for a fact that in those areas in which the fence is already up, the numbers of infiltrators actually went down.

Q: The particular group of workers, were they working on the fence?

A: They were on their way there in their vehicles to begin their days work on the fence.

An Israeli citizen was killed Monday morning during clashes between Israel Defense Forces soldiers and terrorists who infiltrated the southern border with Egypt.

Initial information reveals that a terrorist cell penetrated the fence along the border with Egypt on Monday morning, and set off an explosive device near Be’er Milka, an Israeli moshav near the Egyptian border.

After penetrating the border, the terrorists started to open fire and as a result, a construction worker was wounded, and died later of his wounds.

The IDF’s Golani Brigade was called to the scene and began exchanging fire with the armed men near the Philadelphia corridor near Kerem Shalom.

The attack follows a few days of intelligence warnings.

Israeli communities near the border have been put on high alert.

Jerusalem to Be the Capital of … What?

 Diana West:

If Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood candidate for president Mohammed Mursi (above) wins, Egypt’s capital moves from Cairo to Jerusalem. So stated a leading Islamic leader, Safwat Hagazy, during a recent campaign rally as Mursi and MB head honcho Mohammed Badei looked on.

Outrageous? Fantastic? Not in Muslimworld. As crack Islamic law expert Stephen Coughlin pointed out to me today, the 2008 charter of the Organization of the Islamic conference similarly calls for OIC’s “permanent headquarters” to be moved to Jerusalem after the city’s “liberation.”

Article 21 of the OIC Charter:

The Headquarters of the General Secretariat shall be in the city of Jeddah until the liberation of the city of Al Quds so that it will become the permanent Headquarters of the Organisation.

Al Quds is the Islamic name for Jerusalem.

The OIC is the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (it used to be known as the Organization of the Islamic  Conference). With 56 Islamic member states represented by heads of state and foreign ministers, it is the largest voting bloc on the international stage, a unified front to advance Islam and its laws across the world.

Netanyahu orders swift deportation of 25,000 illegal African migrants

Dear Minister. Kenney: This, is how it is done.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered his ministers to accelerate efforts to deport citizens of South Sudan, the Ivory Coast, Ghana and Ethiopia who are living in Israel illegally on Sunday.

Speaking at Sunday’s cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said that while it is not possible to expel citizens of Eritrea and Sudan, whose lives would be at risk in their home countries, holding facilities for them must be built in the Negev as quickly as possible.

A senior Israeli official said that two different groups of migrants were presented during Sunday’s cabinet debate. The first was migrants from countries with which Israel has diplomatic relations, and with regard to whom there is no barrier to repatriating them under international law, he said. This group numbers some 25,000 of the approximately 60,000 African migrants now in Israel.

The second group comprises migrants from Eritrea, Sudan and Somalia, who cannot be repatriated because their lives would be at risk, according to the official. This group comprises some 35,000 people.

Sudan is classified as an enemy country, another reason that migrants can’t be returned there, he said, while Eritrea, though it has diplomatic relations with Israel, considers those who fled the country to be AWOL soldiers, and upon their return home they could be severely punished. Eritrea has a mandatory conscription law for all men aged 17-45, and demands reserve duty up to age 55. There are no exemptions.

With regard to the first group of migrants, Netanyahu said, “Whoever can be sent away should be sent away from here as quickly as possible.”

With regard to the second group, he said, “It’s clear that we cannot return Sudanis and Eritreans to their countries.”

During the cabinet debate, Netanyahu appeared impatient and dissatisfied with the conduct of the relevant ministries and banged on the table several times, according to sources who were present. He ordered a substantial expansion of the Saharonim lockup in the Negev so that it could hold the tens of thousands of people who can’t be repatriated.

He also ordered a team of interrogators put together to interview all those who will be brought to the Saharonim facility to determine whether they are indeed entitled to refugee status.

The Foreign Ministry has been conducting intensive discussions for several months with the governments of those countries whose citizens can be repatriated, a senior ministry source said.

Israeli scientists have cultivated a cannabis plant that may benefit those who smoke marijuana for medical purposes but wish to do so without getting high, according to a report by the Israeli newspaper, Maariv.

The new cannabis plant appears the same as regular marijuana and reportedly tastes and smells the same as well. The main difference is that smoking it does not induce any feelings normally associated with ordinary marijuana, leaving users completely sober.

The plant was developed by Tikkun Olam, which sought to neutralize the effect of the substance, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and increase the effect of another substance called cannabidiol (CBD).

It has been shown that CBD has the ability to help diabetics and ease various psychiatric disorders.

Tesco Direct, a United Kingdom supermarket has conformed to labeling produce imported from the West Bank, by Palestinians or “settlers,” in accordance with the British government’s official, but non-binding, recommendation of 2009.

In keeping with age-old Judeophobia (including 400 years of Jewish banishment during the Middle Ages, and England’s blocking entry to Jews returning from the Holocaust), England seems to have joined a financial, existential war against Israel.  The sharia-compliant unite in the non-violent boycott urged by a pro-totalitarian entity against a thriving, productive and charitable democracy.

The UK appears to have acquiesced to ignoring the legal boundaries that were established for Israel and uses armistice lines from a war that the Arabs began, but lost.  The Green Line, neither an international nor permanent border, is an armistice line, marking positions held by both sides when the final truce was called at the end of the 1948 war, and remained so because Arab leaders refused to negotiate final border lines.

Swastikas, Palestinian flags and “Palestine is ours” slogans were spray-painted on the ancient synagogue in Naaran near Jericho overnight.

Public Diplomacy Minister Yuli Edelstein condemned the act and remarked it was no wonder the Palestinians desecrate an ancient synagogue “after destroying and desecrating Temple Mount remnants.”

PM Netanyahu’s Remarks on Iran

PMO Gov Il

Following is an excerpt from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks this evening at a Civil Service Commission event:

“In recent weeks, I have heard those who have cast doubt on Iran’s intentions.  They said that when Iran’s leaders declare that they will wipe Israel off the map, they really mean something else in Persian.  It would be interesting to hear what they think of the Iranian Chief-of-Staff’s remarks yesterday: ‘Iran is committed to the complete destruction of Israel.’  This is clear and simple.  Iran’s goals are clear.  It wants to annihilate Israel and is developing nuclear weapons to realize this goal.

Iran threatens Israel, peace and the entire world.  Against this malicious intention, the world’s leading countries must show determination, not weakness.  They do not need to make concessions to Iran.  They need to set clear and unequivocal demands before it: Iran must halt all enrichment of nuclear material.  It must remove from its territory all nuclear material that has been enriched up until now and it must dismantle the underground nuclear facility in Qom.  Only thus will it be possible to ensure that Iran will not have a nuclear bomb.  This is Israel’s position; it has not changed and it will not change.”

When Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad purportedly said that Israel “should be wiped off the map” there were, and still are, many who argue that the Iranian leader was misquoted or mistranslated. No such argument can be made however regarding the latest comments by the chief of staff of the Iranian armed forces.

According to the Iranian Fars news agency, while addressing a defense gathering in Tehran on Sunday, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Maj. Gen. Hassan Firouzabadi stressed that the Iranian nation remains committed to the “full annihilation of the Zionist regime of Israel to the end.”

According to Fars, Firouzabadi “reiterated the Iranian nation and supreme leader’s emphasis on the necessity of support for the oppressed Palestinian nation and its causes,” and noted, “The Iranian nation is standing for its cause that is the full annihilation of Israel.”
