Three gay men are burned to death for allah in Iraq April 2011

This clip was sent to me by Don L and translated just this evening for us by Nonie Darwish (Thank you very much Ms. D) and while it is a year old or so, I think its important to have this sort of thing out there so anyone who still thinks that Islam means something other than this, well maybe this will shake them up a bit.

This is harsh. It is several people being doused in fuel and set alight. Please be warned.

Iraq Goes Iranian, Clerics Deploy Morality Police

“We support personal freedoms, but there are places that have a special status,” said Sheik Mazin Saadi, a Shiite cleric from Kazimiyah, home to the double gold-domed shrine that is one of Shiite Islam’s holiest sites.

He said the area’s residents lobbied Baghdad’s local government to ban unveiled women from walking around the neighborhood, including its sprawling open-air market that attracts people from across Iraq. “The women started to follow to this order,” Saadi said.

Shiite is the key word. Both areas are Shiite areas and Iraqi clerics are doing their part to turn parts of Iraq into Iran. With a government that is in thrall to Iran, there isn’t much of an obstacle to clerical power. And it goes deeper than clerical police. Iraq is Iran’s other ace in the hole for bypassing nuclear sanctions.

But the biggest story may be the coming showdown over Kurdish oil.

Stoned to death for being an emo: NINETY Iraqi students killed for having ‘strange hair and tight clothes’

Daily Mail:

  • Number of deaths could be even higher
  • Cleric calls the stonings ‘an act of terrorism’
  • Ministry of Interior ‘complicit’ in the killings

More than 90 Iraqi students have been stoned to death for their Emo haircuts by religious extremists in Baghdad in the past month after Iraq’s  interior ministry dubbed it ‘devil worshipping’.

Iraq’s Moral Police released a statement on the interior ministry’s website condemning the ’emo phenomenon’ among Iraqi youth, declaring its intent to ‘eliminate’ the trend.

The move is part of a wider clampdown on young people taking on what government officials call ‘Western appearances’ in Iraq.

‘The Emo phenomenon or devil worshipping is being followed by the Moral Police who have the approval to eliminate [the phenomenon] as soon as possible since it’s detrimentally affecting the society and becoming a danger,’ the statement read.

‘They wear strange, tight clothes that have pictures on them such as skulls and use stationary that are shaped as skulls. They also wear rings on their noses and tongues, and do other strange activities,’.

Since the statement was published religious extremists have been harassing and killing teenagers with ‘strange’ or ’emo’ appearances.

A group of armed men dressed in civilian clothing led dozens of teenagers to secluded areas a few days ago, stoned them to death, and then disposed their bodies in garbage dumpsters across the capital, according to activists, activists told the Cairo-based al-Akhbar website.

Salehi did not name the aircraft carrier or give details of the action Iran might take if it returned.

Minorities religions under Islamist regimes: a brutal week

It’s been a brutal week for minority religions and spiritual movements in Islamist states.

The persecution of the Baha’i minority faith under the Iranian regime continues, according to Brazilian television.

Also, in Egypt this week the Salafi Party denounced the pro-democracy movement as — you guessed it — “Freemasonry” and “Zionism.”

In Iraq, liquor stores belonging to Yezidis (sun worshippers) and Assyrian Christians were attacked by mobs, set alight and destroyed.  The violence erupted after Mala Ismail Osman Sindi’s Friday sermon. The imam has since been criticized for the attacks, but he insists that he “only said that instead of massage parlors, people should build mosques.” Continue Reading →

Iraqi woman arrested for sending her 9 year old son to be ‘martyred’.

Many people wonder why Muslims would attack a mosque and claim its proof that this is not a religious issue and the problem can’t lie with Islam.

They think this because they do not understand the fundamental fact of Islam that Muslims do understand and occasionally even tell us.

Mosques are political institutions and the places from which military campaigns and terrorist activities are planned and often the weapons are constructed and stored in them. Mosques are not churches. The president of Turkey made this quite clear in his recent statement about Mosques being barracks, minarets being bayonets and Muslims being soldiers. So it is only surprising that competing flavors of Islam do not blow up mosques more often than they actually do, as they suffer no illusions about mosques as places of peaceful worship.

IRAQI security forces have arrested a woman whose boyfriend convinced her to send her little boy on a suicide mission and then failed to stop the attack after she had a change of heart.

Sunni widow Suad al-Obaidi, 47, was arrested on Friday along with her allegedly al-Qaeda boyfriend, a Diyala police officer said.

She was arrested in Diyala province, while the boyfriend, Hamid Alwan, 53, was detained in Baghdad.

According to the officer, Alwan convinced Obaidi to send nine-year-old Murtada Latif Kadhem to bomb a Shi’ite mosque in Khales, north of Baghdad, several years ago.

Alwan “took her son with her … by car to the Shi’ite mosque but, on the way there, she started to cry about her son,” the officer said.

“He put her out of the car, and took the son, who was wearing an explosive belt, to the mosque, where he blew himself up.”

Security officials said the December 29, 2006 attack killed at least nine people, including the imam of the mosque, and wounded at least eight.
