2. India: Clashes erupt in Kashmir during Eid celebrations

Clashes broke out between Indian security forces and demonstrators after the Eid al-Fitr prayers in Indian Administered Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar city on Wednesday.

Demonstrators were reportedly protesting against the recent killing of rebels and civilians, as the gathering turned violent.

Indian security forces fired pellet guns to disperse the protesters, as the latter were throwing projectiles.

Self-proclaimed <b>Islamic State  flags can be seen among the protesters.</b>

One of the protesters said “We don’t want to be with India, Pakistan and Kashmiri separatist leaders, we are only with Darul Islam [House of Islam].”

Clashes were also reported in other towns within the Indian administered area of Kashmir.

1. Philip Cross: The ‘anti-fascist’ left were the real fascists all along

(Interesting that this is in the National Post, which is as much an agent of Alinsky’s rule 13 as is the Huff Post at times. So while the content of this article is excellent, this lends no credibility to the NP whatsoever, as the NP conflates conservatives with extremists at the drop of a cat hair.)

It is fashionable among the radical left to demonize the growing number of elected conservative governments in the Western world as the rise of the extreme or alt-right. This is most pronounced in the anti-fascist (antifa) movement, particularly on university campuses. However, the anti-fascist movement has a sophomoric misunderstanding of fascism and its location on the political spectrum. More disturbing, this lack of understanding extends to its own social media and even physical tactics that mimic the mob psychology, street rage and bullying that are hallmarks of the fascism they denounce.

 

Fascism is best thought of as a nationalistic version of socialism, embodied in Hitler’s National Socialist party, which was shortened to the Nazis. Fascist governments like those of Hitler and Italy’s Benito Mussolini (and, to some degree, Spain’s Francisco Franco) in mid-20^th century Europe believed in totalitarian control of the economy and oppressive state curtailment of individual liberty. Those are the antitheses of conservative principles. Fascism subsumes all ideology to the goals of the state and the need for state surveillance. The extreme version of conservatism isn’t fascism, as the left wants us to think. It’s libertarianism.

Now comes word that a Muslim doctor in Sri Lanka is accused of doing his own ‘little part’: “sterilizing non-Muslim women without their knowledge or consent.”

 

“More than 50 women have made complaints against Dr Siyabdeen Mohammed Safi, 42”, and he is also being investigated for connections to a “terrorist organization“. Now what kind of terror organization might that be? Islamic terror would be a good guess here.

 

As usual, the victimhood rebuttal comes out: “Minister Senarathne seemed visibly upset as the media grilled him over allegations levelled against Dr. Shiyabdeen as he retorted at media saying, ‘You all would not have these concerns if this doctor was a Sinhalese! Since the doctor is a Muslim you have an issue’”.  An act of sterilizing women without knowledge or consent is criminal on its own; but then there is another inconvenient truth: no other doctrine tries to out-populate territories inch by inch toward global dominance but Islam.

10. Trump Tells UK To Walk Away From $49 Billion EU Divorce Bill

President Donald Trump has waded into the most controversial issue in British politics by urging the U.K. government to leave the European Union without a deal if it can’t get better terms from EU leaders.

 

Trump told the Sunday Times in an interview published Sunday that Britain should “walk away” from talks and refuse to pay a 39 billion pound ($49 billion) divorce bill if it doesn’t get better terms from the EU.

 

The president also says Brexit party leader Nigel Farage should be given a role in the negotiations.

11. Public Schools Promoting Islam During Ramadan

A public interest law firm is challenging a New Jersey school district for promoting Islam during the current Islamic month of Ramadan.

 

Memorial High School, located in West New York, New Jersey, is displaying Ramadan posters sponsored by the school district wishing students to “Have a blessed Ramadan.” The poster then offers the following blessing: “May Allah Continue to shower you love and wisdom.”

 

The Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund (FCDF) – which offers pro bono law services regarding freedom of conscience issues — subsequently sent a “cease and desist” letter to the school district.

 

Teachers, concerned about the school district’s promoting Islam as a violation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment, contacted the law firm.

British Jews have spoken of their fear after a pro-Palestine group supported by Jeremy Corbyn forced Jewish-owned shops to close by staging aggressive rallies outside them.

 

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), of which Mr Corbyn is patron, targeted shops selling Israeli products in Brighton, London and Manchester, forcing two businesses to fold.

9. Bubonic Plague ‘Likely’ Already Present In Los Angeles, Dr. Drew Says

The city, with a population topping four million and a broader metropolitan area with many millions more, is awash in massive problems — overcrowding, lack of housing, and high demand for free services among them. But other far more serious problems are lurking, Dr. Drew Pinksy said on Thursday.

 

“We have a complete breakdown of the basic needs of civilization in Los Angeles right now,” Pinsky told Fox New host Laura Ingraham. “We have the three prongs of airborne disease, tuberculosis is exploding, rodent-borne. We are one of the only cities in the country that doesn’t have a rodent control program, and sanitation has broken down.”

 

Pinsky said bubonic plague — also known as the “Black Death,” a pandemic that killed off millions in the 14th century — is “likely” already present in Los Angeles. The plague is spread by infected fleas and exposure to bodily fluids from a dead plague-infected animal, with the bacteria entering through the skin and traveling to lymph nodes.

1. Manchester Victoria station stabbings: Man charged with attempted murder

A man has been charged after three people, including a police officer, were stabbed at Manchester’s Victoria railway station on New Year’s Eve.

 

A woman and a man in their 50s and Sgt Lee Valentine suffered “serious” but not life-threatening injuries.

Mahdi Mohamud, 25, has been charged with three counts of attempted murder.

 

He has also been charged with possessing a document or record likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

 

Mr Mohamud, of Cheetham Hill in Manchester, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 12 June.

Sgt Valentine, who is in his 30s, was stabbed in the shoulder and released from hospital a few days after the attack, which took place at about 21:00 GMT.

A draft resolution set to be debated this weekend at the California Democratic Party State Convention, obtained by Fox News, accuses the Israeli government of willfully “aligning with the virulent Islamophobia” of white supremacist groups in the U.S. — and links Israel indirectly to the Oct. 2018 massacre of 11 congregants at a Pittsburgh synagogue.

 

The resolution could prompt a dramatic floor debate at the convention if the party’s Resolutions Committee decides to table it, Fox News is told, as prominent national Democrats have wrestled with high-profile allegations of anti-Semitism in their ranks in recent months. Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar and Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, in particular, have faced scrutiny from their own party for comments widely perceived to be anti-Semitic. In March, the House passed a bipartisan resolution condemning various forms of bigotry in response.

7. Nigerian Migrant Sentenced to Life for Murder of Italian Teen Pamela Mastropietro

Nigerian migrant drug dealer Innocent Oseghale has been found guilty of the murder and dismemberment of Italian teenager Pamela Mastropietro and was sentenced to life imprisonment with 18 months of isolation.

The Court of Assizes of Macerata found the Nigerian guilty of every single charge against him from voluntary murder aggravated by sexual assault, insult, to destruction and concealment of a corpse this week, Italian newspaper Il Giornale reports.

 

Although the lawyer for the Mastropietro family Marco Valerio Verni, who was also the victim’s uncle, was pleased that the Nigerian received a maximum sentence for the killing, Pamela’s mother Alessandra Verni claimed that the drug dealer had not acted alone and must have been helped by accomplices.

8. Birmingham LGBT row: Protesters banned from school

Protesters against LGBT teaching at a primary school have been banned from gathering outside the gates by a High Court injunction.

 

Birmingham City Council pursued the legal action after months of demonstrations outside Anderton Park Primary School.

 

The school had to close early before half-term due to escalating action.

 

The council said it sought the urgent injunction after the risk to children became “too serious to tolerate”.

It said the behaviour of demonstrators was “increasingly unacceptable”.
