Plot Foiled? 3 Moroccan Muslims Caught Sneaking Inside TX Courthouse at 2 A.M.

From The Blaze:

What were three French-Moroccan Muslims in their twenties doing with photos of infrastructure and high tech camera equipment inside the Bexar County Courthouse in San Antonio at almost 2 o’clock this morning?

Nobody has given any good answers yet, and concerns about a possible terrorism plot remain high.

Officers of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and the Department of Homeland security have the three suspicious individuals in custody and are trying to find out if a terrorism-related plot was disrupted. The men apparently entered the building by sneaking through a window.

The men appeared to have entered the country on legal visas from Heathrow airport and had traveled extensively throughout the U.S. According to WOIA radio, officials say the men had “photographs of infrastructure” including photos of shopping malls, water systems, courthouses and other public buildings which they say were taken in cities nationwide.”

In response to the possible threat early this morning, police cordoned off two square blocks of downtown San Antonio and bomb-sniffing dogs were deployed throughout the courthouse. After a couple of hours, police reopened the streets as no danger was detected.

Canadian university appoints terror-supporting Islamist to head new department

Landmark Report

By Andrew Lawton – Thu Oct 13, 9:13 pm

Edited byAndrew Lawton
In March, Huron University College–an affiliated campus of London, Ontario’s University of Western Ontario–announced its intent to accept a $2 million endowment to install a Chair in Islamic Studies, as part of Huron’s Faculty of Theology. The money was to come from various sources, but the bulk of it from the Muslim Association of Canada, a Canadian Islamic organization that aims to uphold the values of the Muslim Brotherhood, and the International Institute of Islamic Thought, an organization indicted alongside al-Qaeda as a sponsor of terrorism.

The College dismissed concerns early on about financial links to radical individuals and organizations, with then-interim principal Trish Fulton saying, “Huron University College is aware of the allegations against IIIT… The funding was approved by our Executive Board after a thorough due diligence process, which we would implement in the event of any gift of this magnitude.”

Now, sources inside Huron University College have stated the College’s intent to announce their appointment tomorrow morning. Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a member of the College’s search committee revealed the appointment to be Dr. Ingrid Mattson, a convert to Islam who is presently a Professor of Islamic Studies at Hartford Seminary in Connecticut, and Director of the MacDonald Center for the Study of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations.

The presence of a white, female, English-speaking, convert to Islam in such a leadership role for North American Muslims may seem like the community’s embrace of progressiveness, but Mattson is far from being a moderate.

In 2001, Mattson claimed that Wahhabism–Saudi-sponsored terrorism that was in play during the September 11 attacks–was “analogous to the European protestant reformation“. She denounced it had any role in 9/11, which has been disproven. More shockingly, in a post-9/11 PBS interview, she candidly stated that she couldn’t find “any difference” between Christian leaders criticizing Islam and Osama bin Laden claiming to represent Islamic theology.

This ‘expert’ in Muslim-Christian relations also claimed that, “Right-wing Christians are very risky allies for American Jews, because they are really anti-Semitic. They do not like Jews.” I must have missed this memo; I apologize to any of my Jewish friends whom I misled by claiming I liked them.

Mattson also justified Palestinian terrorism, inferring it’s the natural byproduct of a people being forced to “defend their families and lands,” even going so far as to lay some of the blame on American foreign policy. How about Muslim sleeper cells? Surely we can all agree that those aren’t ideal. Well, according to Dr. Moderate, they don’t exist.

The list goes on.

Swastika | Synagogue targeted

(I have been informed that much worse happened to another Jewish temple in St. Johns N.B.)

The Daily Gleaner

A swastika was scrawled on the doors of Fredericton’s Sgoolai Israel Synagogue during the overnight hours Sunday, the first such incident of vandalism in the synagogue’s 77-year history.

Someone drew a swastika on the doors of the Sgoolai Israel Synagogue on Westmorland Street on Sunday night.

Rabbi Yosef Goldman said rather than protest the anti-Semitic act, he’s going to pray.

“My work here in Fredericton is always to teach people what Jewish people are all about and to remove any questions or ignorance,” Goldman said. “We don’t want it to turn into an endemic, but we also don’t want to overreact.”

An anti-Semitic slogan was written on a synagogue in St. John’s, N.L., last week. Goldman said he’s unsure if the two incidents are related.

He discovered the swastika on the synagogue’s front door when he arrived Monday morning. The swastika was traced in black marker and was surrounded by a black circle, about 20 centimetres in diameter. Continue Reading →

Group defends anti-Islamic flier given near schools

CLAIREMONT, CA (KGTV/CNN) – A religious organization in San Diego County has come under fire for passing out fliers near high schools that have a distinct anti-Muslim theme.

The two page flier is headlined “Ayatollah Khomeini Had Sex With a 4 Year Old Girl!” and blasts Islam for its beliefs.

Zac Patchett found the flier after his sister, a sophomore at Clairemont High School, took it home.

“I was just personally offended,” Patchett said. “It goes against being an American.”

But Gary Cass, a member of Defend Christians, the group behind the fliers, does not see anything wrong with the handout’s sharp tone.

“This isn’t racist at all,” Cass said. “All it’s doing is telling the truth about a group of people that are organized around a religious ideology. It transcends race.”

Hertz Suspends Muslim Shuttle Drivers for Praying on Company Time

It is about time that someone in the real world started to treat Muslims equally, instead of giving them special rights and privileges, taxing the rest of us for it, and calling that equality. Someone needs to give HRTZ an award for rationality.

From FOX news:

Published October 07, 2011

SEATAC, Wash. –  Hertz has suspended 34 Muslim shuttle drivers at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport for praying on company time.

The company says the drivers are required to clock out, under terms of a settlement two years ago with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Drivers told The Seattle Times they were sent home last week for praying. Teamsters Local 117, which represents the workers, is trying to get them back on the job.

The union represents about 79 drivers at Hertz who earn between $9 and $10 an hour. About 70 percent of them are Muslims. Observant Muslims pray five times a day.

The Mounting Hezbollah Threat in Latin America

Over the last several years Hezbollah and its patrons in Iran have greatly expanded their operations in Latin America to the detriment of inter-American security and US strategic interests. Today, Hezbollah is using the Western Hemisphere as a staging ground, fundraising center, and operational base to wage asymmetric warfare against the United States. Venezuela’s Hugo Chávez and other anti-American governments in the region have facilitated this expansion by rolling out the welcome mats for Hezbollah and Iran. US policymakers must increase their attention to this problem, expand their assets in the region, and develop a comprehensive strategy to combat this threat in a sustained and meaningful way.

Key points in this Outlook:

  • To ward off its international isolation and undermine US influence in the region, Iran, with its Hezbollah proxy in tow, has made a major diplomatic and economic push into the Western Hemisphere.
  • Hugo Chávez in Venezuela and other radical anti-American populists have made common cause with Iran and Hezbollah in waging asymmetric warfare against the United States.
  • Hezbollah’s criminality in the region has multiplied as it has established deeper relations with transnational criminal organizations.
  • Evidence indicates Hezbollah is sharing its terrorist experiences and techniques with Mexican drug cartels along the US border.

Hezbollah’s presence in Latin America dates to the mid-1980s, when it began sending operatives into the notoriously lawless region known as the tri-border area (TBA)—where the borders of Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay meet—to use it as a principal safe haven for fundraising, money laundering, recruitment, training, plotting, and other terrorist-related activities.1 Their activity also includes drug and arms trafficking, counterfeiting, forging travel documents, and pirating software and music. Their resulting proselytizing has led to the creation of numerous Hezbollah cells, with an estimated 460 operatives in the TBA by mid-2000.2

It is impossible to quantify the level of criminal activity taking place in the TBA, but some estimate that Islamic extremist groups there and in other suspect areas in Latin America remit $300 to $500 million per year in illicit profits to radical Islamic groups in the Middle East.3 US authorities have been well aware of the wanton criminality occurring in the TBA through the years and have cited some individuals and entities for providing financing to terrorist groups and achieved some extraditions, but the overall effort to combat the menace has been hampered by uneven levels of cooperation from the governments of Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay.

LatinAmerican-sidebar

It is not appropriate, though, to see this as simply a law enforcement issue, as if the illicit business activities and fundraising were ends in themselves. In fact, the nature of the threat has changed considerably. Hezbollah is a preeminent international terrorist organization dedicated to waging Islamic jihad against its enemies, which include the United States and its allies, and the threat it poses should be dealt with accordingly by all law-abiding nations.

The Hezbollah Modus Operandi

Building cells abroad in the service of Hezbollah’s mission involves substantial time and investment. The group sends only its most committed and intrepid operatives into new regions with no support. They must establish a network from scratch among which they can raise money to send back to the leadership in Lebanon, familiarize themselves with the territory and potential targets, and begin planning operations. Invariably, their missions involve infiltrating or establishing mosques or “Islamic centers” to help Hezbollah to spread its influence, legitimize its cause, and promote jihad on a global scale. Saudi passenger disrupts flight bound for Indianapolis

From WTSP.COM

INDIANAPOLIS – Federal authorities are probing the actions of a Saudi Arabian man who tried to get into the cockpit of an American Airlines flight to here.

Indianapolis Airport police said Abdulaziz Mubarak Alshammari, 20, was pulled away from the cabin door by another passenger a half hour before Flight 1936 from New York to Indianapolis International Airport landed at about 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Alshammari, who said he is a student at the University of Indianapolis, appeared confused when flight attendants and police questioned him, according to a police report. Investigators photocopied a note Alshammari wrote in Arabic while on the plane.

Scott Hall, a spokesman for the University of Indianapolis, said the school has no record of Alshammari being a student there.

Passengers said Alshammari walked to the front of the plane, then to the rear, before strolling again to the front. When he got there, he appeared to be looking for a door and started tugging on the locked cabin door.

Capt. James K. Kolostyak heard someone trying to open the cabin door and saw the interior door light come on, according to the report. He called a flight attendant on the plane’s phone system to ask what was happening. Continue Reading →

Ohio bans pork for all prisoners after Muslim inmate sues to get halal food

From Jihad Watch:

Here yet again we see dhimmi authorities responding to Islamic supremacist demands by effectively imposing Sharia restrictions upon non-Muslims. An update on this story. “Ohio’s response to Muslim lawsuit over prison meal preparation riles state pork industry,” by Andrew Welsh-Huggins for the Associated Press, October 5 (thanks to Twostellas):

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A decision by Ohio officials to remove all pork products from prison menus in response to a lawsuit by Muslim inmates is not sitting well with the state’s pork producers and processors.

Landlords face no punishment for discrimination in online ads

 From The National Post:

Ontario’s human rights code says everyone has a right to seek housing without discrimination.

  Oct 6, 2011 – 6:30 AM ET | Last Updated: Oct 5, 2011 7:03 PM ET

There’s a two bedroom basement apartment for rent in Toronto’s northwest end —one bathroom, newly painted and renovated with a side entrance. The ad, posted on popular classified site Kijiji.ca, comes with the typical caveats —no pets allowed, no smokers. And then, a less common request: Only Muslims need apply.

It’s the exact kind of specifications the Ontario Human Rights Commission recently warned landlords against putting in their online classified ads —any denial of a prospective tenant due to race, ethnic origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age and disability, among other things, is grounds for discrimination according to the Ontario Human Rights Commission’s housing policy and the Ontario Human Rights Code.

But for all its condemnation of the practice, the commission this week said they can’t police these online ads, that it’s out of their hands.

Instead, a person would have to call up the prospective landlord and file a complaint if it is clear they were not considered for the apartment because they weren’t Muslim, for example, or Chinese, Korean or Japanese as one other Craigslist Vancouver ad said it would prefer the successful tenants to be. Ontario government issues orders to be extra special to Muslims during Ramadan. The usual racism of lower expectations.

To be honest, this is the first time I have seen Michael Coren not be up to his usual standard on these issues. Not that I disagree with him, but I think he failed on the main point.

In a free country, Canada being one of the very last ones, religion is a choice.

This means that people can choose to observe whatever religious ritual they want to (providing its legal of course) and no government forces them to do it.

This means that we, the rest of us, need not go one-bloody-inch out of our way to accommodate it. I can, and will, eat a nice big ham sandwich and a cold beer next to a fasting Jew or Muslim or whatever anytime it suits me. Because it is his choice to fast and I have no obligation to adjust my own schedule or choices one inch.

Frankly, if we do adjust our own freedoms for these ‘accomodations’ it is for one of a few reasons all of which are awful.

1. The racism of lower expectations.

We figure these people, whoever they are, sort of have to do these things. They have no real agency like ‘we do’ so of course, we bend to them. It’s only fair right? Cause they are too stupid or primitive to make a real choice. Such is the thinking of the racism of lower expectations.

2. We are subservient to them and their customs.

In this case, commonly called, ‘dhimmitude’, the non-Muslims must acknowledge the supremacy of Islam and bend to its adherents customs, even when it is not done in Islamic lands. Such as footbaths in airports which they do not even have in Saudi Arabia. But they do now in the USA

3. These rituals and so on are actually mandated by law as they are in many Islamic countries. In these cases, you are not in a free country and then yes, special care should be given to people forced to observe a lot of crap they may or may not believe in because hell they had no choice in it.

But this is Canada. People choose to wear a certain kind of linen on their heads for reasons of religion or cultural identification. They choose to sacrifice something like lunch for a couple of weeks to show devotion to a pirate and rapist from 1400 years ago, and also, to make dinner more fun.

Whatever it is people choose to do for the sake of religion or culture is their choice. It will have no impact on any of mine.

And this has nothing to do with ‘being nice’.
It is about preserving the freedom to make those choices as well as not make them.
