Communists only close borders when they are trying to stop aid getting to their starving

In a stunning, and yet consistent with ideology, display of totalitarian psychopathy to his own people, Venezuela’s maduro, hanging on to power by the blood and treasure of others, has fired on civilians trying to allow aid to enter the country via Brazil.

Quite fascinating how leftists want borders destroyed to let in everything bad to democratic nations, yet once they trash the place with their communist/postmodern failures, they want the border closed to make sure no one can benefit from systems that actually produce wealth.

From the Daily Mail:

Two people have been killed and 12 injured after Venezuelan troops opened fire on civilians trying to keep a border checkpoint open for aid deliveries.

Troops arrived at a checkpoint set up by an indigenous community in Kumarakapai, on Venezuela’s southern border with Brazil early this morning.

But when civilians tried to block a convoy of tanks, soldiers opened fire killing two people including a woman named as Zorayda Rodriguez, 42, and wounding 12 others.

Gran Sabana Mayor Emilio Gonzalez said soldiers fired rubber bullets and tear gas and the injured people were taken for medical treatment.

But pictures and video footage taken by a Brazilian journalist appears to show bullet casings taken from the scene along with medics treating people covered in blood from wounds to their legs.

The villagers are believed to have been trying to keep open a section of the border so that aid could be moved into the area from Brazil. President Nicolas Maduro ordered the frontier with the country shut yesterday and is now considering shutting the border with Colombia.

Hopefully videos will appear soon that can be added to this post. For the moment, its just Youtube talking heads with their own analysis and no more information that the above.

But let’s hope someone has a drone overhead and releases a little footage.

Opposition leader, who Brazil already recognizes as true president of Venezuela, makes it official!

There is a lot going on We are preparing a video of a speech by Maduro threatening and chest pounding. Sassy left this comment but as of yet, no news links to these claims:

Support for Guaido: Canada – Paraguay – Colombia – Argentinia – Peru – Brazil – Ecuador – Costa Rica – France, also the Church in Venezuela.

Instagram & Facebook removed Maduro’s official Blue Verified check mark.

Guaido has taken refuge in Ecuador’s embassy out of fear for his life. Trump threatens Maduro re all violence.

Thank you Gary, Sassy, M. Richard and all.

Maduro is NOT taking it well.

False flag in Venezuela. Maduro takes an Erdogan page for crackdown on opposition?

The Daily Mail:

Was Venezuela ‘drone attack’ faked? Firefighters claim explosion in ‘assassination bid’ was actually a GAS TANK blowing up and TV cameras failed to capture footage of the ‘drones’ – but President Maduro rounds up political opponents

Questions have been raised about whether the ‘drone attack’ against the president of Venezuela was faked after he began blaming his political opponents for attempting to assassinate him but TV cameras failed to captured any footage of the missiles and firefighters said the incident was actually a gas tank explosion.

Nicolas Maduro had been addressing a military parade in Caracas on live TV on Saturday, when he suddenly halted and looked to the sky after hearing an explosion.

Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were swamped with aides carrying bulletproof shields and both escaped uninjured.

The visibly shaken head of state said a ‘flying device’ exploded before his eyes and quickly blamed his ‘ultra-right’ opponents, but no drones were seen on television footage, which cut out. No footage of drones emerged on social media either.

Then, three fire officials at the scene  disputed the government’s version of events, claiming the attack was actually a gas tank explosion inside the Residencias Don Eduardo apartment building.

We shall likely soon see if he pulls an Erdogan and starts arresting thousands of people who oppose his socialist driven spiral dive into being a failed state.

Venezuela moves to the next fully predictable stage of totalitarianism

Venezuela: Opposition leaders dragged from homes in early morning raids.

Venezuelan opposition leaders Leopoldo Lopez and Antonio Ledezma were taken from their homes by intelligence agents in the early hours of Tuesday morning, in the wake of the controversial assembly vote that Nicolas Maduro said would open “a new phase of combat” in the country’s revolution.

Videos distributed by the leaders’ families showed them being dragged out of their houses and bundled into cars belonging to the notorious intelligence unit Sebin. The opposition denounced the detentions as “kidnappings”, and said the whereabouts of the two men was currently unknown.

Here is that interview I did a couple of years ago with a Venezuelan expat. Many of you have seen it already and of course, its dated. But ill put the link here because the course of events he describes leading to where things where from when he describes the process up to that point, inevitably leads to where it is now. The next stage of course is mass slaughter of the people, gulags, if they don’t already exist, reeducation camps beyond the courses that are already mandatory in Canada for PC etc.

There appears to be footage of the arrests on the site linked above but I cannot get it to play. Once I can, I will try and add it here.

Please pay attention to these events and make others aware of it.

Venezuela

Venezuela is most certainly the most under reported story of this century so far.

To see a country that was doing very well, had plenty of everything, freedom, opportunity and was the most advanced in most ways of Latin America slide into totalitarian poverty and in a short time is biblical. And most people have no clue that this is even happening.

In the top video, the commenter, who has his heart in the right place, has his analysis based on personal speculation. he is quite wrong about socialism and the causes of Venezuela’s demise.

It was more because of socialist thought than providing for its citizens.

Yes, the kind of support it offered was unsustainable and in a small way a part of socialism. But providing for some needs of a civilization is also just that. Civilization. If providing for some needs is socialist than the Colonial British who went into India and other countries during the Colonial era were full blown commies.

No, the reason Venezuela is a shade better than hades now and maybe just a shade less pleasant to go shopping in, is socialist methodology. False notions of fairness and enforcement of systems that cannot work. Expropriating food distribution companies like Polar, and when that failed, the expropriation of actual food producers like farms.

Communists always do this and it always results in the same end. No food.

Zimbabwe, South Africa is well on its way, Ukraine under Stalin and so on.

This story is a much better example of why Venezuela’s socialism is destroying the country and creating suffering on a scale probably not known before in that nation.

Socialist Venezuelan Leader Steps Up Arming of Supporters After Outlawing, Confiscating Civilian Guns

The socialist leader of Venezuela announced in a speech to regime loyalists his plan to arm hundreds of thousands of supporters after a years-long campaign to confiscate civilian-owned guns.

“A gun for every militiaman!” Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro said to uniformed militia members outside the presidential palace, Fox News reported on Tuesday. The Bolivarian militias, created by Maduro’s predecessor Hugo Chavez, already number in the hundreds of thousands and are being used to supplement the regime’s armed forces. Maduro is boosting the number of armed supporters in hopes of keeping control over the country from what he labels “imperialist aggression.”

The arming of Maduro’s supporters comes five years after Venezuela’s socialist regime outlawed the commercial sale and civilian ownership of firearms. Only the military, police, and groups like security companies can buy guns and only directly from one state-run arms company under the law passed in 2012, according to the BBC. The country recently doubled down on its gun ban through a combination of gun buybacks and confiscations in the summer of 2016.

That article is a much better example of socialism. Its not about providing needs and support so much as about using all the force you can to make sure one ideology is allowed and any other thoughts about social structures, even more than economic ones, are crushed.

Here is my interview with a Venezuelan expat from three years ago about this exact subject:
