Islam: Where Women Are Most Equal

Posted on March 9, 2011 by cecilie
The unrest in the Middle East is starting to make its presence felt in little Hong Kong. Cathay Pacific, which before did overnight stays in unstable Bahrain, has now started doing them in super-safe Riyadh in Saudi Arabia instead. But lo and behold, although female Cathay’s female staff are being issued full body-covers on landing in case a member of the religion of peace should happen to see them uncovered and thus naturally unable to control himself, are now complaining about local men trying to force their way into the hotel rooms of cabin crew.

The article doesn’t say what the local men had intended to do upon the successful entrance to the room; my guess is they just wanted to see a Cathay Pacific flight attendant un-bagged and then go on to inform her about the many benefits enjoyed by women living in the safe clutches of islam. However, the cabin crew members, misunderstanding the intentions of the well-meaning men; perhaps even suffering a temporary bout of islamophobia, raised the hue and cry – maybe they thought they would get raped or something. Some people are so over-dramatic! So now these hysterical and frankly anti-multiculturalist women are asking Cathay Pacific to discontinue overnight stays in Riyadh.

SAUDI WOMAN’S NIGHTMARE: BOUGHT AND RAPED AT 13, ABANDONED AT 30

Not only did she get sold by her father and deflowered as a child, the 60 year old degenerate who bought her had three other wives. This is a classic example of islam 101. KGS

Salma fled her home after dad tried to ‘sell’ her again
By Staff
Published Sunday, February 27, 2011

When she was 13-years old, Salma (full name withheld) from Saudi Arabia was forced to marry a man aged over 60.

The man paid her father a dowry of SR250,000 ($68,000), but Salma says it was like she was actually sold.

Salma, now in her 30s, has no home and is deprived of seeing her six children following her divorce. When she tried to take them, she was thrown in prison for six months.

As if all this was not enough. After she was divorced and her children taken away, her father tried to sell her again – this would-be husband refused to offer more than SR100,000.

But it was her not her father who turned down that offer. Feeling that she had enough, she packed and fled her home.

“I was only 13 when this rich old man came and paid my father SR250,000. I was forced to marry a man who is as old as my grandfather… I was snatched off my fifth class at that age,” said Salma, from the central town of Makkah.

“He took me to his home in Madina and there I found that he already has three wives… I then started to spend my time playing with his children as I was a child and had no idea about marriage life.”

Salma, now in her 30s, said her marriage lasted around 17 years, during which she gave birth to four daughters and two sons.

“During my marriage to this man, I suffered from torture and very bad treatment… I then fled to my family’s house and stayed there with my children for nearly three years, after which I was divorced.”

The Saudi Alikhbariya newspaper said Salma first refused to give back the children to her ex-husband, prompting him to go to court.

“Police arrested me and I was jailed for six months… when I was released, I went back to my family and stayed for a while before another old man came and paid SR100,000 to marry me,” she said.

Saudi Arabia’s ‘Schrodinger’s King.’

From Gates of Vienna verbatim:

Is King Abdullah Dead?

There are persistent rumors that King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has died. As far as I can tell there is little mention of it in the news, and only one article that states it as a fact. AFP reports that the king is in “excellent health”.

MyStateline.com acknowledges the rumors, but denies their accuracy:

(Dubai) — A source is laying to rest a rumor that the king of Saudi Arabia is dead.

An adviser to a senior member of the ruling family says King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz is alive.

Abdullah has been on the mend in Morocco since January after he had surgery in the U.S. for a blood clot that complicated a slipped disc.

The only article I can find that says Abdullah is dead is from Islam Times . Notice the assertion that the king became upset after an argument with President Obama, and had a heart attack as a result (all spelling errors are in the original):

Saudia Arabia’s King Abdullah Passed Away

Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz passed away yesterday, according to an Islam Times reporter…

Islam Times: Saudi Arabia’s 86-year-old King Abdullah was discharged from a New York City hospital in good health after going through two back operations in December 2010. The king delegated the management of the affairs of the world’s largest oil supplier to his half-brother, Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, during his absence.

In light of recent events in Egypt, I think this has become a very important article.

Egypt as every schoolkid knows, is one of, if not the, most important archaeologically/historically rich nations on earth. What we learn about ourselves from Egyptian history matters a great deal to keeping us on the right course. I post this article because it needs to be understood what the cost is to history itself if Ikhwan, the Muslim Brotherhood ever gets power in Egypt the way the Muslims did in Iran and Saudi Arabia. This is no mere clash of ideologies. This is the destruction of the time line itself.

Digging up the Saudi past: Some would rather not
Donna Abu-nasr, Associated Press
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – Much of the world knows Petra, the ancient ruin in modern-day Jordan that is celebrated in poetry as “the rose-red city, ‘half as old as time,'” and which provided the climactic backdrop for “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.”

But far fewer know Madain Saleh, a similarly spectacular treasure built by the same civilization, the Nabateans.

That’s because it’s in Saudi Arabia, where conservatives are deeply hostile to pagan, Jewish and Christian sites that predate the founding of Islam in the 7th century.

But now, in a quiet but notable change of course, the kingdom has opened up an archaeology boom by allowing Saudi and foreign archaeologists to explore cities and trade routes long lost in the desert.

The sensitivities run deep. Archaeologists are cautioned not to talk about pre-Islamic finds outside scholarly literature. Few ancient treasures are on display, and no Christian or Jewish relics. A 4th or 5th century church in eastern Saudi Arabia has been fenced off ever since its accidental discovery 20 years ago and its exact whereabouts kept secret. Continue Reading →

SAUDI ARABIA: HUSBAND BEATS WIFE IN HOSPITAL FOR DELIVERING BABY GIRL…….

Photoshop pic by Tundratabloids.

The atrocities from the ROP keep on coming. A faulty x-ray of a fetus ends up dashing the hopes of a Muslim father, so he takes it out on the woman who bore it by beating her up.

Man beats wife after she delivers baby girl

Emirates 24/7: An Arab expatriate in Saudi Arabia stormed into the gynaecology section in a hospital, woke up his wife and beat her up for delivering a baby girl, newspapers reported on Thursday.

The unnamed husband was later overpowered and taken out by staff members and security at the hospital in the central town of Makkah.

He then accused the hospital of swapping his baby as his wife had told him previous x-rays had shown she was pregnant with a boy.

But doctors tried to calm him down and told him x-rays are not always accurate in identifying the sex of the baby.

Man shoots dead alleged “sorcerer”

A Saudi man fired seven rounds of his pistol to kill an Arab expatriate in the Gulf Kingdom for practicing sorcery on his family, the Arabic language daily Alriyadh said on Thursday.

The 36-year-old Saudi fired the seven bullets at different parts of the man’s body in the southern town of Abha, killing him instantly.

“He then handed himself over to the police and told them he did so because the man was a sorcerer who tried to cast a magic spell on him and his wife,” the paper said.

Saudi cleric sees ‘devil’ behind suicide attacks

Coptic Orthodox Christians carry a blood-splattered image of Jesus as they demonstrate against Saturday’s bomb attack in front of the Coptic Orthodox Church of the Two Saints in Alexandria January 2, 2011. The bomb killed 21 people outside the church early on New Year’s Day and seven people have been held for questioning, a security source said on Sunday.

RIYADH – A top Saudi cleric has slammed suicide attacks by Islamist martyrdom-seekers as devilish acts that do not qualify as jihad, a Saudi newspaper reported on Friday.

“He (a suicide bomber) claims to be a mujahed (holy warrier) in the name of Allah, but he is not. He is fighting in the name of the devil who has tempted him and convinced him” to carry out the attack, said Sheikh Saleh al-Fawzan.

“A Muslim is prohibited from killing himself,” the member of the Saudi supreme council of Islamic scholars said in a lecture in Riyadh, according to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper.

He said acts of violence branded as jihad, or Muslim holy war, were nothing more than “sabotage.”

“This is not jihad. This is sabotage and unrightful killing,” the cleric said, adding that jihad in Islam should only be declared by the leader of the Muslim community.

“Jihad has rules and regulations. It should be called for by the leader of the Muslims,” he said.

Martyrs in the Islamic faith are promised generous rewards in paradise.

Fawzan also condemned the New Year’s Day bombing of a Coptic church in Alexandria, Egypt that killed 21 churchgoers, slamming it as an act of “treachery.”

The newspaper termed his condemnation of suicide attacks as unprecedented in a country which was home to 15 out of the 19 hijackers of the passenger planes used in the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States.

Saudi Arabia is beginning a major internet clamp-down, starting with blogs, forums, news sites, personal websites, electronic archives, chat rooms and online ads.

New regulations were approved by Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Mohee Al-Dien Khoga, the Minister of Culture and Information, which will require licences for the operation of an e-publishing site within the country when the laws come into effect in a month’s time,

Anyone who writes on a blog, online newspaper, or similar form of electronic publishing will be required to meet the following obligations: they must be a Saudi national, over 20, hold a high school or higher qualification, be of good conduct and behaviour, and hold an appropriate licence given by the Ministry.

Saudi school’s name changed for blasphemy

By Staff
Emirates 24/7 Published Friday, December 24, 2010
Saudi education authorities have decided to change the name of a local school called after a famous pre-Islam Arabian poet because he was not a Muslim, a newspaper in the Gulf Kingdom reported on Friday.

Hatem Al Tai School in the northern town of Hail has been changed into Hatem School on the grounds the poet Hatem Al Tai was Christian, Sharq daily said.

“Education sources said the decision to change the school’s name was because Hatem Al Tai was a blasphemous man who had lived during the Jahiliyya era before Islam…several intellects in the city criticized the decision and considered it as an act of fanaticism, which is hated in Islam.”

Hatem Al Tai was a famous pre-Islamic Jahiliyyah Arabian poet. He was a Christian and belonged to the Ta’i Arabian tribe in north Saudi Arabia.

Stories about his extreme generosity have made him an icon to Arabs up till the present day, as in the proverbial phrase “more generous than Hatem Al Tai.”

STRATFOR: Saudi Arabia: Security Forces Break Up Shia, Sunni Clash

December 17, 2010
Saudi security personnel late Dec. 17 dispersed crowds of Shia and Sunnis after fights broke out in the western city of Medina during the Shiite holy day of Ashura, Shiite sources said, Reuters reported. Shiite website Rasid.com said Sunnis attacked several Shia with stones, and a local Shiite resident confirmed the incident, saying it occurred near the Quba Mosque.

Wikileaks may be the earthquake that starts the avalanche

Wikileaks founder claims to be a peace activist. I suspect like most self proclaimed peace activists, he is very much for war but on the ‘other side’. Certainly this batch of leaks promises to do much more to accelerate a war than it does to help build good relations. I also can’t help but notice that there are no leaks from North Korea, Iran, The KSA-Saudi Arabia, or Pakistan, although I’m quite certain that revelations from Pakistan will be released if they have not been already.

In any case, this man should be tried for treason with a capitol punishment if found guilty in my humble opinion. What he has done will cost the lives of allies of the west, of freedom and of liberal democracy. Perhaps not a perfect system, but the best ever managed in the history of the world so far. Even so, it is interesting that so many Mid East leaders are calling for the elimination of the Iranian regime. It seems they are not squeamish about attacking, but most certainly are of Iran getting the bomb.
