Four Pune blasts, one injured, on a night when Sushil Shinde was expected

Pune: Pune this evening saw four low-intensity blasts in a span of nearly 40 minutes on its busy Junglee Maharaj Road in the heart of the city. Two other bombs have been defused by the Anti-Terror Squad. All the bombs were placed within a kilometre. At least one person has been injured. He has been taken into custody.

Home Secretary RK Singh told NDTV that the injured person is being treated as suspect and questioned by the police. Mr Singh also said that a terror angle cannot be ruled out as it appears to be a planned attack.

Sushil Kumar Shinde, who took over today as India’s Home Minister, was scheduled to be in the city tonight to preside over a prize-giving ceremony. He cancelled his plans at the last minute. “The blasts were of low-intensity. I was supposed to be at the Tilak Theatre, very near to where one of the blasts took place. At this moment, I cannot say anything more. It is now a matter of inquiry, ” he told reporters in Delhi.

“Religious duty” motivated 2-day killing spree…

The self-confessed mastermind behind the bloody Mumbai Massacre is reportedly showing no remorse for the deaths and injuries to hundreds during the terrorist attacks of 2008.

Indian-born Abu Jundal Hamza (Below) admitted he was coordinating the attacks from a Karachi, Pakistan “control room” that resulted in a total of 404 souls either killed or wounded.

As reported by The Hindustan Times (of New Delhi), Indian authorities are now releasing interrogations excerpts of the jihadist chief since his extradition back to India from Saudi Arabia.

Jundal has been described by investigators as “an intensely devout man who believes he did his ‘religious duty.'”

So It Is Written…

The jihadist rationalized the slaughter to Indian law enforcement authorities due to:

“the word jihad appears 41 times in the Quran and frequently in the idiomatic expression ‘striving in the way of God (al-jihad fi sabil Allah).'”

Indian police also queried the terrorist as to why he targeted his own nation, the terror leader responded:

“It’s a religious war with those who are unbelievers in the mission of Muhammad…. especially for the purpose of advancing Islam and repelling evil from Muslims.”

Jundal threatened that if given another opportunity, he would gladly launch another massacre:

“as it would help him get a place in jannat (heaven) through jihad.”

Connect the Dots…

As a member of the popularly known “Pakistani Taliban,” Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jundal is also connected to a Member of the British House of Lords, the Noble Lord Baron Ahmed of Rotherham, Nazir Ahmed.

After being informed that United States placed a $10 million reward on the head of Lashkar-e-Taiba leader Hafiz Saeed, His Lordship was quoted as stating:

“If the US can announce a reward of $10 million for the captor of Hafiz Saeed, I can announce a bounty of 10 million pounds on President Obama and his predecessor George Bush.”

(Reuters) – Delhi police have arrested alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant Abu Hamza, who is suspected of helping to plan the militant rampage through Mumbai in 2008 that killed 166 people, Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna said on Monday.

New Delhi blames Pakistan militant group LeT for the attacks that stunned India and shattered fragile relations with nuclear-armed neighbour Pakistan. Indian-born Abu Hamza is a suspected member of the LeT, local media reported on Monday.

Authorities believe Hamza is the voice of a previously unidentified man who was taped speaking by phone from Pakistan to the militants involved in the Mumbai attacks. He is also said to have coached the attackers in speaking Hindi, according to the reports.

NEW DELHI –  Police on Wednesday said they arrested an Indian journalist in connection with last month’s bomb attack on an Israeli diplomatic vehicle in New Delhi, their first arrest in an attack that Israel accuses Iran of orchestrating.

Police arrested Syed Mohammed Kazmi on Tuesday after investigations showed he had been in touch with a suspect they believe may have stuck a magnetic bomb on an Israeli diplomat’s car, police spokesman Rajan Bhagat said.

Police said they searched Kazmi’s house over the past two days to gather evidence of his link to the Feb. 13 attack, which wounded the diplomat’s wife, her driver and two other people in a nearby car. Police did not say what evidence they found.

Kazmi, 50, was being questioned and was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday before being handed over to officials of the investigating agencies for further questioning, Bhagat said. It was not immediately clear which news organizations Kazmi has worked for.

India orders google to scrub religious or politically ‘offensive’ material from the available internet.

I can’t think of too much worse than this.

Perhaps one doesn’t know one is in paradise or in a golden-age until one is thrown out or it ends. It sure feels that way at the moment as the world slides into barbarism, totalitarianism, theocracies and primitive oppression.

India Announces intention to tap Iran’s oil

From People of Shambhala.
India will “endeavor in future to tap the Iran[ian] source [of oil] fully because the terms are fairly favorable,”India’s Oil Minister S. Jaipal Redd announced at an energy conference on Monday.

A delegation from India went to Tehran last week to discuss payment for crude oil. Reddy reported that “Iran was very accommodative.”

India’s announcement comes at a moment of heightened tensions between Iran and the USA over Tehran’s nuclear program, and over the alleged planned assassination of the Saudi ambassador to Washington DC. Tehran demanded an apology over the accusation, and denies that it is trying to acquire nuclear weapons.

Reddy says that although India respects United Nations sanctions it will not… read more.

Muslims slaughter pregnant cow in Hindu temple compound

From People of Shambhala.

Cows are considered sacred in Hinduism, and killing them is prohibited. The killing of the pregnant cow inside the temple compound was a deliberate act of sacrilege designed to provoke local Hindus.

A member of the Sree Dharma Sastha temple committee is reported to have said, “If they wanted the cow for meat they could have simply stolen it. That they committed the heinous act right in front of the temple has only one explanation – their intention was… read more.

Closer ties to Israel upsets India’s Muslims

From People of Shambhala.
India has been working hard to cement its relationship with Israel lately, consequently upsetting many of the southeast Asian nation’s Muslim organizations. On a recent visit to Israel India’s External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna described the two nation states as natural allies, and as facing international terrorism.

During the visit, it was agreed that Israel would be allowed to open an embassy in Bangalore.

Mr. E. Aboobacker, national president of the Social Democratic Party of India, (SDPI) said in a statement on Friday, January 13, that “India seeking to forge a joint strategy with Israel to deal with the scourge of terrorism is a big joke as the latter over nine decades has been massacring unarmed Palestinians, including women and children, with impunity.”

“it is pertinent to note,” the Mr. Aboobacker said, “that increasing cooperation between New Delhi and Tel Aviv makes India’s stand on Palestine imbroglio a farce,” adding that the closer cooperation contradicted India’s position on the Palestinian issue.

Prof. Basir Ahmed Khan of the Indian Union Muslim League described the visit as a “travesty of justice” adding that “what Israel was facing is an struggle of Palestinians to free their own country from the illegal occupation of Israel; this cannot be equated with terrorism.”

E. M. Abdul Rahiman, Chairman of Popular Front of India, also described the diplomatic visit as… read more.
