How to fix rape statistics in India

In the fictitious episode of South Park, priests meet to try and solve the problem of child molestation by trying to find a way to get little boys to stop reporting them.

It would appear in the real life Islamic world they have found a way to deal with women objecting to being violently raped in India.

An update on the Hindu Vs. Muslim riots and killings over a restaurant bill

When Vlad first posted an article on this the term, ‘communities’ in the original article made me suspicious enough to post it as a possible Muslim Vs. everyone else issue. Clearly that was indeed the case.

Dhule riot: police arrest eatery owner for inciting violence

Amruta Byatnal

Even as the police on Thursday arrested one person in connection with the communal violence that broke out here on January 6 following an altercation, the curfew, which was imposed following the violence and the ensuing police firing that claimed six lives, was extended.

Dhule Superintendent of Police Pradeep Deshpande said that Kishore Wagh, the owner of the Maratha Mutton shop — the eatery where the scuffle broke out — was arrested for inciting violence and causing damage to property and remanded in police custody till January 13.

Meanwhile, at the Macchi Bazaar chowk, where the eatery is located, people on both sides of the ‘border’ — as the intersection is known here — fear that peace will be difficult to come by in the town. According to the people of Dhule, who are not unknown to communal violence, the feeling of frustration, fear and loss that they witnessed in riots that paralysed the city in 2008 has returned.

“We don’t know whom to trust. We live right on the border with Hindu and Muslim families. Everything was fine between us, and suddenly this happened. We fled our house and ran to save our lives,” Gita Prajapati, a resident told The Hindu. Ms. Prajapati said her brother was badly hurt in the riot. “We don’t know who hit him. He has injuries on his face and hands.”

While more than 200 people, including policemen and members of the two communities were injured in the violence, six Muslim people died in the police firing, prompting Muslim leaders to allege that the police was prejudiced. As The Hindu reported earlier, houses of both Hindus and Muslims were gutted, and property was damaged. Members of the Muslim community have alleged that that the rioters indulged in arson and loot with the police support.

This prompted thirteen Muslim corporators on Thursday to threaten to resign if the government failed to institute a judicial inquiry into the incident. “We have demanded an independent judicial inquiry into the incident. The families of those who were killed also need to be given appropriate compensation. If the government fails to do so within a month, we will all resign,” said Feroze Lala of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

The riot was sparked off by a brawl that started over the issue of paying a restaurant bill of Rs. 30. According to the police, two Muslim youths got into a fight with a Hindu restaurant owner over the issue. The owner hit the two, who went out and returned with a mob of over 50 people. The restaurant owner, too, had called people by then.

According to an eye witnesses who did not wish to be named, both the parties went to the Machhi Bazaar police chowk, but the police refused to register a complaint and asked them to resolve the matter by themselves. It was then that both sides started pelting stones at each other. The police arrived on the scene soon after, and was caught in the violence.

However, the account of what happened after this has contradictory versions. According to the police, the Hindus were largely quiet and the Muslim side of the mob was throwing huge stones and acid-filled glass bottles. PSI Bhaskarrao Pagar, who was at the scene when the incident happened, told The Hindu that policemen were getting injured in large numbers and it became difficult to control the mob. “That was the last option left with us at that time. If we had not taken the decision to start firing, the violence would have grown beyond limits. It is the best that we could do.”

Pakistan troops breach LoC, brutally kill 2 Indian soldiers, chop off heads, carry one away

Indian Express:

Army

In a gruesome attack, Pakistani troops today crossed into Indian territory and ambushed an Army patrol party killing two soldiers whose heads were reportedly then chopped off.

The attack took place along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district when Pakistanis came about 100 metres into Indian territory and assaulted the patrol party.

Besides killing two Lance Naiks, Hemraj and Sudhakar Singh, they also injured two other soldiers.

During the brutal assault on the patrol party, the Pakistanis are said to have chopped off their heads, one of which they carried with them, informed sources said.

However, the Army, while confirming the killing of Indian soldiers, did not comment on reports that they had been beheaded.

According to the sources, the Border Action Team (BAT) of Pakistani Army entered the Indian territory at Krishna Ghati area of Poonch district and carried out the strikes.

Did hate speeches spark Dhule violence?

Yesterday I posted a couple of links, thanks to Magic Martin, on massive violence in a town in India where at that point 4 people had been killed and fires had been set due to “tensions between communities”.

Of course it doesn’t take a genius to guess that Muslims are at least one of those communities as is so often the case when there is deadly ‘tension’ between them.

Now it appears this was stimulated by Muslim ‘politicians’ inciting anti-Hindu hatred.

Did hate speeches spark Dhule violence?

After violent clashes between two communities in the Maharashtra town of Dhule caused police firing and ended with five deaths, police have now started investigating the role of hate speeches made by Muslim politicians ahead of Municipal elections in the town.

“We have inputs of a few Muslim politicians inciting a crowd in Dhule and allegedly telling them to attack policemen and officers at the next opportunity. We do not know the reason behind this, but this will be probed,” an Indian Express report quotes Director General of Police Sanjeev Dayal as saying.

Abu Azmi, Mumbai unit president of the Samajwadi Party, who is said to have been leading the politicians told Indian Express, “I don’t remember the context of the speech made. I would not use words like these. I said the police are being unfair to Muslims. Innocent men are being put behind bars. The Government should do something. Police should get punished. This is what I say everywhere and I am sure I said the same in Dhule in October 2012.”

Dayal said, “Over 113 policemen were attacked, with 48 seriously injured and admitted. The superintendent has incurred four stitches on his cheek. ASP and deputy SP were attacked by a mob in a narrow alley with stones and all sorts of things.”

Monday, January, 07 2013 – 13:56

DHULE (MAHARASHTRA): Curfew has been imposed in north Maharashtra’s Dhule town following a violent clash between the members of two communities here on Sunday. At least four people were killed in the clash and around 170 injured.

The incident took place on Sunday afternoon when a brawl erupted between the members of the two communities at a roadside food stall. The fight then escalated and extended to the other nearby localities including Machibazar and Madhvapura.

Police said the riot was triggered after a youth refused to pay the food bill in a restaurant at the town’s Fish Market Square area and was thrashed by the owner.

After a short while, the youth returned with some friends and arguments and fisticuffs ensued. Within minutes, there was full-scale communal rioting in the area.

Police rushed to the spot but were unprepared to handle the situation and had a hard time protecting themselves from the stones, bricks, bottles and other items hurled at them.

Hindu girls still targeted for rape in Pakistan: world remains silent

People of Shambala

The raping of Hindu women and girls “has almost become a trend in Sindh province,” in south Pakistan, claims the Daily Bhaksar. Since the beginning of December, at least two Hindu girls, one aged six and the other 14, have been attacked and raped. The six-year-old victim was allegedly kidnapped and raped by Hashim Magiro, the owner of a gambling den near the girl’s home in the Umerkot district of Sindh.

Then at the end of December, in Mubarak Tarr village, Sindh, a 14-year-old Hindu girl was raped allegedly by a local leader of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP). According to Pakistan’s Express Tribune, the attacker entered the girl’s house and, while two accomplices stood guard, tortured the mother and then raped the teenage girl.

(A little note to Iftikhar who claimed the raped girl from a couple of weeks ago was Muslim and the rapists Hindu etc. It turns out the poor girl who was raped and tortured to death was a Hindo, and the most vicious of the rapists, the one who ripped out her intestines, was a Muslim)

Indian rape victim dies in hospital

This is sad. I have no idea if there is an Islamic element to this or not, although people have tipped me links suggesting that there has been a cover up and that they were Muslims, in any case this is sad beyond words and I hope India finds a way to profoundly discourage this behavior no matter who is doing it.

SINGAPORE (AP) — A young Indian woman who was gang-raped and severely beaten on a bus in New Delhi died Saturday at a Singapore hospital, after her horrific ordeal galvanized Indians to demand greater protection from sexual violence that impacts thousands of women daily, in homes, streets and public transport, but which often goes unreported.

She “passed away peacefully” with her family and officials of the Indian embassy by her side,” said Dr. Kevin Loh, the chief executive of Mount Elizabeth hospital where she had been treated since Thursday. “The Mount Elizabeth Hospital team of doctors, nurses and staff join her family in mourning her loss,” he said in a statement.

New Delhi Locked Down to Douse Rape Protests

H/T Ted L

WSJ.COM:

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh appealed for calm after violent protests erupted in New Delhi over the weekend. The WSJ’s R. Jai Krishna has more from the scene of the demonstrations.

NEW DELHI—Indian police on Monday cordoned off large parts of central New Delhi and shut down public transport in an attempt to prevent further demonstrations after a weekend of protests over the aggravated rape of a woman in the city earlier this month.

India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, in a televised appearance Monday, appealed for calm. On Saturday and Sunday, police fired tear gas and water cannons at protesters, many of them students. On Sunday, protesters set fire to barricades and overturned a government vehicle. There were about 85 injuries, including police and protesters, according to police officials. A number of protesters were detained and later released, police said.

Girl gang-raped in moving bus in Delhi

And by the actual STAFF ON THE BUS no less.

This article doesn’t say anything about who did it. India tends to be more PC than England in that way at times. But this event has a familiar ring to it. That is to say, a large group of men including the staff mass raping a girl then beating her and throwing her off the bus would require a shared culture among these men because in any culture other than Islamic, at least one of the men would have objected or more accurately, it would never have occurred to any of them to do this.

There is an interview with a relative of the victim in a local language at the end of this English video. Perhaps a reader who speaks it might enlighten us if there is a hint as to who did this and why.

Pakistani Taliban swear revenge for the execution of a muslim terrorist who killed many people in the Mumbai attack of 2008

They even lie about their own beliefs. One minute they are saying their highest aspiration is to die in holy jihad and the next, spitting nails when we assist them in that. If there was a single note of truth in anything these cretins say, they should be sending India a nice bottle of wine and a basket of fruits and assorted cheeses for helping one of their own get to ‘Mohamed’s Afterlife Bar and Brothel’ they are always on about.

Pakistan Taliban vow to attack Indian targets over Kasab
Pakistan’s Taliban movement threatened to attack Indian targets to avenge the country’s execution of Mohammad Ajmal Kasab.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Taliban movement threatened on Thursday to attack Indian targets to avenge the country’s execution of Mohammad Ajmal Kasab, the lone survivor of the militant squad responsible for a rampage through Mumbai that killed 166 people in 2008.

Kasab was hanged on Wednesday amid great secrecy, underscoring the political sensitivity of the November 26, 2008, massacre, which still casts a pall over relations between nuclear-armed rivals Pakistan and India.

“We have decided to target Indians to avenge the killing of Ajmal Kasab,” said Taliban spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan by telephone from an undisclosed location.

Ehsan demanded that India return Kasab’s body.

“If they don’t return his body to us or his family we will capture Indians and will not return their bodies,” he said, adding that the Taliban will try to strike Indian targets “anywhere”.

Violence erupts in Hyderabad

H/T Michael Laudahn:

Times of India:

HYDERABAD: Violence erupted once again in the Old City soon after the Friday prayers when hundreds of Muslim youths emerging out of Mecca Masjid attempted to break through the barricades set up by the police and made a vain attempt to proceed towards the ‘chilla’ located within the historic Charminar with the intention of offering prayers. Unable to do so, the youths resorted to stone pelting to which the police responded with lathicharge and teargas.

Within minutes, the unrest spread to other parts of Old City including Shalibanda, Yakutpura, Rein Bazaar and Gowlipura, from where incidents of stone-pelting were reported. In all, at least 5 people including security personnel were admitted to Osmania General Hospital with minor injuries while at least 10 vehicles were burnt by the protesters. Over 50 youths were detained by the police. Till late in the evening, sporadic incidents were reported from across Old City and the situation, though largely under control, continued to remain tense.

The Old City has been on the boil over the last fortnight over the repair work that was undertaken by the management of the Bhagyalakshmi temple adjoining Charminar and it culminated in the MIM withdrawing support to the UPA government at the Centre and the Congress government in the state on the charge that chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and his administration was openly siding with the Sangh Parivar and aiding the harassment of the minority community. After incidents of stone pelting between two communities in the Moghulpura area on Wednesday night, heavy security including increased personnel of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) was deployed for Friday in Old City, specifically in and around Charminar, but it could not prevent the outbreak of
violence.

As part of the security measures, the police had banned entry of devotees to Bhagyanagar temple at 11 am on Friday. By 12.30 pm, the devout started entering Mecca Masjid to offer prayers. In the meantime, perhaps anticipating trouble, senior cops deployed for duty began wearing the riot gear.

The trouble started after the completion of the Friday prayers when the devout started emerging out of Mecca Masjid around 1.15 pm, a little earlier than usual. On finding the path to Charminar heavily barricaded, the youths attempted to break through it but were prevented by the large police presence. Frustrated, the youths began stone pelting at the cops from all four sides of Charminar. The cops responded with lathicharge and then teargas and at least 50 teargas shells were fired till 4.30 pm to disperse the crowd.
