Bomb attack rocks Malmö police station

A police station in central Malmö was hit by a powerful explosion early Wednesday morning, leaving a hole in the building.

“Several people reacted to the powerful explosion and we received a number of calls,” Skåne police duty officer Marie Keimar told the TT news agency.

Two men dressed in dark clothing were seen placing what is believed to be a bomb outside the building before fleeing the scene.

The blast, which took place around 2.30am, left a hole in the police station’s brick wall and caused extensive damage to the offices inside.

Police say there are a number of witnesses to the incident, but Keimar was unable to elaborate on what witnesses may have said about what they saw.

However, eye witness Tomas Holmqvist told Svergies Television (SVT) that he had seen two men dressed in black place the charge outside the station.

The two men then fled the scene on a black scooter.

The police station singled out in the attack is located on Eriksfältsgatan in central Malmö.

Östlund, from the Department of History at Lund University, found that Sweden had an active role in the 18th century slave-trades through the discovery of forgotten ship registration documents stored in Stockholm’s consulate archives. While ‘not surprised’ about uncovering Sweden’s participation in the Ottoman Empire, he stresses the importance of shedding light on Sweden’s role in the affair. “Sweden actively participated in the Ottoman Empire slave trade with the Sub-Sahara – and this is completely new,” he said. According to Östlund’s findings, the shipping registries state that the Swedish ships’ cargo was “negroes”. While the slaves sent to America were predominantly men used for plantation work, the Ottoman Empire had a different agenda entirely. “Up to 75 percent of the passengers on board were women,” said Östlund. “These women were used as servants and concubines, often both at the same time. They lived a relatively short time, research suggests an average of seven years after reaching the Empire, and this kept the slave trade between Africa and Tripoli going strong.”

This is what “no-go-zones” actually mean. That Muslims take over an area and act so aggressively towards the host state that services cannot be delivered to the area, effectively ending national soverighnty there. This is no joke. Across the formerly-free world there are now thousands of zones where to varying degrees the state has given up on one aspect of state services or another and, as far as I am aware, all of them are Muslim and this is in keeping with the Al-Queda handbook of instructions which I will post again later.

Malmö dwellers forced to deliver their own mail

As postal workers assigned to the Malmö district of Seved feel too threatened to carry out their duties, the residents themselves will now have to deliver their own post.

”You do what you have to do, we have to solve it somehow. And we have no idea how it will work before we have tried, that’s how I look at it,” Swedish Postal Service (Posten) district manager Rolf Weiffert to local paper Skånska Dagbladet.

For months, Seved has been plagued by continuing problems.

Threatened postal workers in the area were forced to carry panic alarms and many residents say they don’t dare go out at night.

From February 1st, two residents in the area will help authorities deliver mail to some 500 households in the area.

The Posten and Malmö city will be co-operating on the project, which will begin as a 6 month trial project and focus on getting young people engaged in postal delivery, according to the newspaper.

“I’m satisfied,” Anders Malmquist, district manager with the city of Malmö, said.

“Young adults get an insight and an understanding of how it is to work in the postal service.”

The two young people who will deliver the letters are currently being recruited.

They will be employed for 12 months by Jobb Malmö, a community project, and get introductory education by the postal system, followed by an internship and, the plan is, eventual employment as a postal worker.

The municipality sees the venture mostly as a workforce project to steer the unemployed youth into work life, even if the idea itself stems from criminality and the lack of safety that has come to characterize the area.

If you can’t even make light about cannibalism, then this world has gone completely bonkers. The next in the line of fire are the comedians, they’ll be hounded for offending just about everybody. At least they believe in equal opportunity. KGS

NOTE: The artist makes a few mistakes however. The first one was to apologize, the second was to use a lame argument that he views cannibals as fictitious characters as Santa and werewolves. Cannibalism still happens today in many parts of Africa. So it wasn’t a racist cartoon, but highly factual truth telling.

Excerpt: According to the artist, cannibals, just as Santa Claus, werewolves and the like, are fantasy figures that he never thought would offend anyone.

”It wasn’t and will never be, my intention, But seeing as this has been perceived as racist, I naturally offer my utmost apologies,” he wrote.

Swedish hip-hop star slams ‘racist’ cartoon

When Swedish newspaper Metro on Tuesday published a comic strip by Norwegian artist Frode Øverli, the paper received a barrage of complaints from readers who perceived the cartoon as racist.

Swedish artist Jason ”Timbuktu” Diakité was among those who reacted angrily toward the image.

”Frode Øverli’s comic strip…was the most insensitive and degrading thing I have ever read in your newspaper. It is a crystal clear case of ignorance and lack of insight in what it feels like to be subjected to racism. I feel deeply offended and very sad,” Diakité wrote in an email to Metro editor Peter Gunne.

The comic strip features a cannibal chief, his daughter, and a prospective suitor.

The cartoon was a play on the the phrase “to ask for someone’s hand” and many Metro readers felt that it was based on racial stereotypes.

”After all these years of human knowledge it seems you remain in the era of steam engines, racial biology and genocide. You should be ashamed of yourself for not knowing better,” Diakité wrote.

However, it wasn’t just Diakité who objected to the controversial strip. According to Metro, some 60 readers contacted the paper saying that they felt that the image was racist.

The paper has therefore chosen to print an apology, saying that it never meant to offend anyone.

”Is it OK to make fun of cannibals? Yes, I think so. Is it OK to joke in a way that can be seen as racist? Absolutely not,” Gunne wrote in Metro and added that the paper has a zero-tolerance policy against racism.

Man jailed for slaying teen on football pitch

Two questions please.

1. Who was he?

2. Deport him to where?

The omission of these facts from the report should have rational people writing letters furiously as they are being denied crucial information that allows us all to make rational decisions. But of course, this is the point isn’t it? The organizations etc. which now govern what can, and cannot be reported do not want us making decisions on the facts but on their ideology.

It turns out Noam Chomski was 100% correct. It’s just that it was he and his cohorts that are the ones censoring information to force us to make the decisions he wants made.

A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to twelve years in prison and will be deported from Sweden for murdering a teenager on a Stockholm football pitch last July.

The man stabbed the 18-year-old in the chest as he played football with friends on a pitch in Hässelby, a suburb of the capital. The group managed to escape to a nearby shop, but were followed by the attacker, who continued to make threats against them. The teenager later died of his injuries.

The killer told police he targeted his victim after recognizing him from a previous fight, but the Stockholm District Court said it had not found evidence to back up that claim.

Tests showed that the murderer did not suffer from a serious psychiatric disorder, and was therefore responsible for his actions.

The man’s lawyer, Sargon De Basso, said he would decide next week whether to appeal. He said the crime should have been categorized as manslaughter:

“We think it is wrong of the court to find that this was a murder,” he said.

Police and emergency services have been busy in Malmö last night. Eight cars have been burned down  in various parts of the city. Car was ignited on Ramels road and police was attacked with large cobblestones. Although, helmeted police officers risk their lives when big stones are wildly thrown at them. That’s why this blog writes “A new attempted murder on police officers” in the title. Even an outdoor toilet for construction workers in Rosengard was fire injured.

STOCKHOLM –  Three men were charged Tuesday with plotting to stab to death a Swedish artist who has faced numerous threats from Muslim extremists for depicting the Prophet Muhammad as a dog.

The men, ages 24 to 26 and of Somali and Iraqi origin, were arrested in the city of Goteborg on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in the United States.

According to the charges, the suspects were planning to use knives to kill Lars Vilks, whose 2007 drawing of Muhammad offended many Muslims and rekindled a debate over free speech and Islam that raged a year earlier when a Danish newspaper printed 12 caricatures of the prophet.

Images of Muhammad, even favorable ones, are considered blasphemous by many Muslims.

The evidence included wiretapped phone conversations between the suspects and a note pad belonging to one of them, prosecutor Agnetha Hilding Qvarnstrom said. Continue Reading →

Belgium’s right-wing conservatives are campaigning to fund the return of Turkish migrants living in the city of Ghent to Turkey with the ironic slogan “Emirda??n sana ihtiyac? var” (Emirda? needs you).

The Vlaams Belang party’s campaign attempts to convince the Turks in Ghent, many of whom were from the city of Emirda? in the Afyonkarahisar province of Turkey, to return to their hometown.

“There are a lot of Turks who are not happy here,” Johan Deckmyn, Vlaams Belang parliamentary member, told Hürriyet Daily News yesterday. “You cannot tell these people to return if you do not have an initiative for them.”

He said their campaign addressed Turks who could not adapt to Belgian culture and those who wanted to return to Turkey even though they had emigrated. Pointing to many failed government projects such as the attempt to send funds to African nations, Deckmyn said funds could be used for their project instead.

The Turkish community in Ghent called the project racist, but Deckmyn denied the claims: “I am not a racist. I am not anti-Turk. I just want to live in a country that is still my country.” The parliamentary member complained the Turkish population in Ghent was making the city “Turkish.”

“Some parts of Ghent are becoming Turkish. My native neighborhood is becoming Turkish. I don’t recognize it anymore,” Deckmyn said about the change of shop names in the city. “I’m sure Turks would not like to have Swedish quarters in Ankara.”

The campaign used Turkey’s economic growth as a reason for Turks to return to Turkey. Deckmyn said the party was against Turkey’s membership to the European Union although they welcomed economic relations between the two parties.

Every time I write about this situation it seems that the situation goes from bad to worse, if that’s at all possible since the situation for Jews in Malmö has been miserable for quite some time now. Here is yet another article by the NIJ blog about the increase of anti-Semitism. The mayor of Malmö, Ilmar Reepalu bears the full responsibility for the situation for it has been allowed to metastasize under his watch, and has himself poured the gas onto the flames of hatred by insisting that Jews be more critical of Israel in order to stave off the hatred directed towards them. He’s a real sicko.  KGS

Ilmar Reepalu is the Mayor of Malmo, Sweden’s third largest city. He is a man on the move, trying to promote and develop Malmo’s position as a leader in green technology around the world. He can squeeze us in for an interview at 8:30 on a Sunday evening. Uncomplaining, he rides up to Malmo’s City Hall on his bicycle in the dark and rain to talk to us.

We are in Malmo, not to discuss sustainability and fair trade in the city, but rather its massive immigration, which some call a problem, others consider a gift.

One-third of Malmo’s population is foreign-born. Another 10 percent are of a different nationality. The biggest influx these days is from the Muslim world. Many of them are very traditional– a small group is quite extreme.

Sweden has a population of 9 million — of those, 1.4 million are immigrants. Approximately 100,000 pour in each year. Ilmar Reepalu thinks that’s a good thing.

“Sweden needs lots of immigrants,” he says, “because otherwise we can’t keep up our welfare system. We, as most parts of Europe, have too few people. Within the coming 20 years, we will have a lack of labor force, so we need more people coming to Sweden. We don’t have enough kids from ourselves.”

Sweden has probably the most generous immigration, asylum and welfare policies in the world.

Some natives have had it with this bottomless funding pit. For the first time last year, voters elected the far right anti-immigration Sweden Democrats—giving them a handful of seats in Parliament.

MP Kent Ekeroth disputes the argument that immigration keeps Sweden’s welfare system afloat.

“What kind of immigrants do we take in? It’s people from Somalia who have done nothing but herd sheep their whole life and we expect them to benefit our society? It’s ridiculous.”

The Sweden Democrats advocate cutting back 90 percent on immigration, redirecting the money currently spent on housing and caring for refugees to programs to improve life in their home countries.

Imam’s on-air death threat ‘not hate speech’

The biggest problem with thought-feeling-speech laws, is, has been, and always will be, the selective enforcement of them. Once you decide that it is illegal to say thing or feel a certain thing then it is guaranteed that the next decision will be what constitutes these things and, more importantly, what does not. Canada’s ‘Human Rights Commissions’ (hold your nose when you read that one) already proved it by prosecuting anyone who had a bad thing to say about a favored group based on the flimsiest reasoning or evidence and then quite overtly choosing not to prosecute a case of a Canadian imam who had violated the spirit and the letter of section XIII of Canada’s hate speech laws in every conceivable way and in every known form of mass communication.

Here we see the same reasoning and selective enforcement at work in Europe. In this bloggers opinion, the selective enforcement of law, is a cancer upon law itself.

It was not hate speech when Swedish public service broadcaster Sveriges Radio (SR) featured a programme in which a Somali imam called for all converts from Islam to be killed, the Swedish Chancellor of Justice (Justitiekanslern, JK) has ruled.

The motivation for the decision not to open up an investigation into the matter was that the presenter protested against what the imam said immediately following the controversial statement.

The decision said that ”the programme features opinions that could be taken as a threat aginst those who have converted from Islam”.

However, due to the responses from the presenter, the Chancellor has decided not to investigate the matter further.

The programme in question was a panel discussion and was broadcast live by SR International’s Somali service.

The initial police report was filed by Erik Johansson, at the Swedish Evangelical Mission (Evangeliska Fosterlands-Stiftelsen – EFS), after friends told him of the imam’s words underlining every Muslim’s responsibility to kill anyone who leaves Islam. Continue Reading →
