Toronto Imam charged with 13 counts of sexual assault netted from investigation.

I heard of this story first on today’s Global TV whose reporters in their “coming up on the news at 5:30” referred to this pervert as a “religious leader’. I knew right away it couldn’t have been a Catholic priest because if it were, they wouldn’t have hesitated for a second to reveal both his name and his Christian denomination. But what I find even more disturbing is this quote from 12 year old Sajid who attends the Baitul  Mukarram mosque:

““I don’t think it’s really like that, because masroor was a good man, he didn’t do anything bad.” ” “It’s not like that because back home, like in Bangladesh, you’re allowed to hit people. It’s OK.”

An imam who worked at a Scarborough mosque has been arrested and faces 13 charges in connection with a sexual assault investigation.

Mohammad Masroor, 48, of Toronto, was apprehended August 10 for sexual offences allegedly committed between November 1, 2008 and July 28 of this year. Police have identified five alleged victims, both male and female, and are appealing to others to come forward.

Mr. Masroor worked as an imam at the Baitul Mukarram Islamic Society on Danforth Avenue between Pharmacy and Warden Avenues, where he taught Koranic studies to students. He was on leave at the time of his arrest.

The single storey brick mosque sits on a nondescript corner. Five times a day, the men and boys who are members of this congregation arrive, remove their shoes at the door and join each other in prayer. No women are allowed inside. Attendance here has risen recently as the Muslim community celebrates Ramadan, the holiest month in Islam.

On Wednesday, the usually quiet mosque was surrounded by media, seeking reaction to the news one of its imams has just been charged and faces 13 counts in relation to sex assault and threatening death. Many members are skeptical of the allegations. Continue Reading →

Muslim woman kept African slave in her 3.1M$ home in West Vancouver

WEST VANCOUVER — A West Vancouver woman has been charged with human trafficking in connection with a case in which a young woman was allegedly brought over from Africa and forced to work in demeaning and slave-like conditions in a lavish West Vancouver home.

Mumtaz Ladha, 55, is wanted on a warrant for hiring the 21-year-old African woman, police said Monday afternoon.

A West Vancouver woman accused of keeping a 21-year-old African woman in slave-like conditions in her mansion will appear in court Aug. 10 after her arrest last month.

RCMP said Thursday they arrested Mumtaz Ladha, 55, on July 19 when she arrived at Vancouver International Airport from an African country.

Ladha faces one charge of human trafficking and one charge of human smuggling after the 21-year-old alleged she had been confined to Ladha’s British Properties home and was forced to work 18 hours a day, seven days a week with no pay.

After Ladha was arrested, she was released the same day on a promise to appear in Vancouver Provincial Court this month.

RCMP spokeswoman Cpl. Annie Linteau said Ladha came back of her own accord “knowing full well that she would be arrested when she arrived here.”

Ladha allegedly hired her accuser to work in a Vancouver-area hair salon in the summer of 2008, but when the woman arrived in Canada, her passport was taken away and she was forced into demeaning servitude, RCMP said.

This reportedly included hand-washing the underwear of everyone in the house, hand-washing the cars of guests, and eating table scraps to survive.

RCMP said she was only allowed to sleep once everyone else in the house had gone to bed.

The woman escaped to a woman’s shelter in June 2009, where she received immediate assistance and the RCMP were notified.

The home where she was kept is a three-storey mansion with an indoor pool and outdoor basketball court valued at $3.1 million, according to a 2011 BC Assessment report.

On Thursday, Elizabeth Empetin, 51, answered the phone and identified herself as Ladha’s Filipino live-in caregiver.

Empetin said she has worked for the family since November of last year, but the Ladhas have not lived in the house during that time and she had not heard from either Mumtaz Ladha or her husband for several months.

Empetin said she had no knowledge of the 21-year-old and her alleged mistreatment.

Empetin said she has been treated well and receives her salary on time.

She said she has had no physical contact with the Ladhas, but was hired through an agency and has her salary deposited directly into her bank account every month.

Both charges faced by Ladha carry severe penalties.

Human smuggling alone carries a maximum fine of $500,000 and a 10-year prison sentence for a first offence.

This is only the second time a B.C. resident has faced a human trafficking charge.

Linteau could not say which African nation the 21-year-old hailed from or Ladha fled to.

This is the second (albeit thwarted) Islamic inspired terror attack in North America that happened to catch my notice, since the Norwegian horror. Odd that in this story as in the one of the man who planned to attack Ft. Hood (for the second time by a Muslim) no mention of Islam as the motive is made. Go figure. Well if they had ever once visited a Church or had their pictures taken at one, we know what they would have called them now, don’t we?

I am saddened to report to you that our synagogue has been the victim of a pro-Islamic anti-Semitic vandal. Just about an hour ago, we discovered the attached spray-painted message across the southern wall of the Beth Tikvah/Robbins Hebrew Academy building. We have notified the police and they will draw up a report, and I also wanted to immediately notify our membership.

This should be a concern for everyone, left right and center. Even Stalin would have been OK with taking a picture at a major tourist site.

But this video shows a terrifying trend of how the Toronto police now take orders from any random Muslim and allows them to create the truth even when there is video evidence showing the contrary and there are other non-Muslim Arabic speakers who heard what was said, and are willing to testify to the facts.

It is crucial in order to understand the severity of the story in the video above to read what happened to Tarek Fatah, and how the police violated every proceedure Canada has to accomodate Muslims even though Tarek, a well known ‘moderate’ Muslim had death threats against him while he was in the hospital recovering from cancer treatment.

In the light of this article, the story in the video above shows how the Toronto authorities are not making a dunder-headed exception, but are clearly implementing a highly illiberal and anti-democratic set of, very likely secret, policies.
