Iranian journalist covering nuke talks defects to West

(This article may be shock therapy to the remaining Obama supporters. If they do not respond to this, they deserve the world they will have to live in. But the rest of us do not)

Amir Hossein Motaghi tells Iranian opposition TV that US is ‘mainly there to speak on Iran’s behalf with other P5+1 members

An Iranian journalist who was sent to cover the nuclear talks in Lausanne, Switzerland, defected over the weekend.

Amir Hossein Motaghi, who was instrumental in the election of President Hassan Rouhani when he served as his personal aide during the Iranian election, asked authorities in Switzerland to grant him political asylum.

RMontaghi told an Iranian opposition channel broadcasting from London that he did not see any sense in his profession as a journalist since he could only write what he was told to write.

According to the British Telegraph newspaper, Motaghi also harshly criticized the American role in the talks, saying the White House was attempting to persuade the other members of the P5+1 group of nations (US, England, France, Russia, China and Germany) to accept Iran’s point of view.

1. Iran, Hezbollah Reportedly Backing Al-Qaeda Attacks Against US Interests in the Middle East

Iran and Hezbollah have been supervising and funding fighters linked to Al-Qaeda to target US interests in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan, independent Lebanese online newspaper Naharnet reported on Sunday citing a breaking report from pan-Arab daily Asharq Al-Awsat.

Sources told Asharq Al-Awsat that Iran is playing a central role in running the affairs of Al-Qaeda, and even, surprisingly, Jabhat al-Nusra, after it has taken in a number of leading fighters in order to plan terrorist attacks against these US interests.

The sources confirmed that the fighters have been moving between Iranian cities, including Tehran, Meshad and Zahdan. Meanwhile, Iran’s Lebanese proxy Hezbollah has been taking care of planning and providing them with financing.

2. Phased US-Iran nuclear deal taking shape

GENEVA (AP) — The United States and Iran are working on a two-phase deal that clamps down on Tehran’s nuclear program for at least a decade before providing it leeway over the remainder of the agreement to slowly ramp up activities that could be used to make weapons.

Officials from some of the six-power talks with Iran said details still needed to be agreed on, with U.S. and Iranian negotiators meeting Monday for the third straight day ahead of an end-of-March deadline for a framework agreement. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry joined the negotiations after arriving Sunday.

3. Iran Press: Obama desperate for a nuclear deal

How are the ongoing nuclear negotiations between the U.S. and Iran playing out in the Iranian press? Well, the U.S. is being portrayed as desperate.

In an article by Press TV, an Iranian propaganda organ, the headline reads, “Obama ‘under pressure’ to reach nuclear agreement with Iran: Analyst.”

US President Barack Obama is “under pressure” to reach an agreement with Iran over Tehran’s nuclear energy program, an American foreign policy analyst says.

“It’s quite obvious to everyone that Mr. Obama would like to have a deal with Iran,” said James George Jatras, a former US diplomat and adviser to the Senate Republican leadership.

4. Nuclear-Themed Domino Show in Iran Culminates with Missile Destroying Israeli Flag

Thank you Richard, Yucki, M., and all of you who sent in materials.

BBC Asia interviews a Hamas leader on their ties with Iran and ambitions.

This is a significant interview and while it was supposed to be available in English by request, no request was answered by those who asked. Please download and spread this video by any and all means in case it is removed. It must be seen and understood. While it isn’t a ‘sexy’ video of psychos screaming, it is an extremely powerful person calmly discussing geopolitically significant matters such as nuclear weapons, genocide, strategic alliances and enmity as well as ambitions as well as the implementation of sharia in Gaza. Add to this recent demonstrations of Hamas’ alliance with Turkey and we see what could be a game changer in the region.

Israeli leader speaks on Iranian bomb development.

Bibi got one thing wrong. It isn’t the development of ICBM’s isn’t the best evidence of the development of nuclear weapons, its the trigger mechanisms and facilities for carving high explosives for use on plutonium implosion devices. Iran has been exposed for having all of these and more and years and years ago. Even the Chinese bomb design they bought.

Extraordinary MEMRI clip. A must see and must spread.

This very honest MEMRI clip from a former Iraqi MP on the Islamic State and their rationale. This man appears to be very reasonable as well.

Here is just one of the money shots from this interview:

The Fiqh, being sharia law and its demands and justifications for various actions, is, as he claims, more dangerous than nuclear technology. He is correct. A nation without Fiqh and with nuclear weapons may posses them for decades and not use them even in self defense. Israel is a fantastic example of that as they never even moved towards the button in wars that could be called existential. But now imagine a nation with both. And then we know why the world must not be apathetic on the matter of the Iranian bomb.

It’s international Islamic ‘destroy Israel day’ in so many cities. Links post 2 for July 25 2014

2. German ‘Al-Quds’ demo

3. Hizb’allah flag in Berlin

4. Berlin again. Watch some muslim women react to the sight of Israeli flags.

5. A ‘Quds-day’ march in ‘Quds’ (Jerusalem) itself. Remember, Iran made this event up in order to delegitimize the city of Jerusalem as a Jewish entity, giving it a new name which has no roots in the cities actual history. It is hard to believe that Islam actually commits crimes against history itself knowingly and with malice of forethought but ‘Quds-day marches are exactly that.

There is and are more and they will be added. Feel free to add any you find in the comments under this post for those who feel so inclined.

Iran targets Ottawa Canada for terror attack

1. Steve Madely CFRA:

Ottawa under terror threat?

Intelligence officials are monitoring Iran as a possible terrorist threat to the Ottawa area. According to a report by Stewart Bell in the National Post, documents from the Integrated Terrorist Assessment Centre point to recent anti-Canada rhetoric from Tehran. As a result, intelligence officials have been monitoring the Islamic republic as a possible threat. And the Capital is mentioned specifically. The reports do not specify the exact nature of the threat Tehran may pose to the Ottawa region, but in the past Iran has used its proxy force, Hezbollah, to attempt attacks internationally.

2. National Post:

Iran’s ‘anti-Canada rhetoric’ has officials on guard for possible Ottawa area terror attacks

Ottawa's high-profile government, military and tourist sites make it an attractive terror target, a report warns.

  • Noting Iran’s rising “anti-Canada rhetoric,” intelligence officials have been monitoring the Islamic republic as a potential terrorist threat to the Ottawa area, newly declassified documents show.

While the diplomatic falling out between Ottawa and Tehran is well-known, the intelligence reports are the first indication the Canadian government is tracking the possibility it could lead to terrorism in the capital.

The reports, written by the Integrated Terrorist Assessment Centre, do not specify the exact nature of the threat Tehran may pose to the Ottawa region but in the past Iran has used its proxy force, Hezbollah, to attempt attacks internationally.

Geopolitics: Movement in Iraq, shiia Vs. Sunni and Islam inspired horror.

1. Here is a video of Shiia volunteers getting ready to face off with ISIS/ISAL

2. BasNews gives detail about Iranian forces in Iraq

The Iranian forces deployed to Kurdistan’s disputed areas and Nineveh province in response to the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) are made up of Kurds, Lors and Turks.

Security sources from Kurdish cities in Iran state that some Iranian soldiers have entered Iraq’s disputed areas and settled there under the excuse of fighting against ISIS. But on Wednesday a number of Iranian soldiers came close to Khanaqin, and they are high military advisors who previously trained Assad’s soldiers in Syria.

3. Iranian forces enter Kurdistan Region

Iranian forces have entered the Kurdistan Region and are based in Naft Khana, a border town near the city of Khanaqin in Diyala Province, which is under control of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).

A reliable source in Khanaqin that asked to remain anonymous has told BasNews that the Iranians were deployed a few days ago after the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) took control of most areas of mid and northern Iraq.

Senior member of Iranian government makes telling threat against the West

This is a partial translation of this article in Farsi by Shabnam.

According to Iran’s state media, Mehr News Agency, Ali Motahari, an Iranian Member of Parliament and a so called ‘moderate conservative’ politician stated that western counties are clueless about the philosophy behind ‘Ghesas’ and executions in Islam. Motahari also said that Islam states that if ANY country/regime prevent spreading of Islam, it must be overthrown and Muslims must unite and intervene as prophet Mohammad had done it many times in his time.

I hope to get a full translation soon. Meanwhile, even a google translation reveals some interesting thinking. Namely the classic totalitarian theme of dehumanization to the point of mass murder of ‘the other’. All unbelievers, this speaker seems to say in the google trans, are not human, and therefore their execution is not really an execution at all. The article also refers specifically to the idea of removing freedom from all peoples, the justification being because they resist accepting the total supremacy of Islam.

MEMRI clip on Iranian thinking behind the recent Geneva deal with the USA

I recommend sitting back and watching this with the greatest clarity of mind one can summon at this time on a Saturday night. Also, it is worth looking up the treaty of Hudabaya. Allen West gives a good description of its meaning

Fire bomb hits a cop in The Temple mount, Israel; Dozens of Palestinians barricaded themselves in the Temple Mount and attacked the cops with everything they could get their hands on..

2. Iran general: ‘Our hands are on the trigger’ to destroy Israel

Iranian leaders regularly issue threats against Israel and the United States, but the wording ascribed to Salami on Tuesday was particularly aggressive.

“Islam has given us this wish, capacity and power to destroy the Zionist regime so that our hands will remain on the trigger from 1,400 kilometers away for the day when such an incident (confrontation with Israel) takes place,” he was also quoted saying in the speech.

Iran, the bomb and the deal. Part II

A reader was thoughtful enough to watch part 2 of the lecture of which I posted the first part yesterday. He points out that at about 23:45 of this part of the lecture he says what needs knowing and confirms some of my musings and thoughts on this matter. Specifically, once you reach 20% enrichment, you are 90% of the way to 90% enrichment as its a non linear process and once you get up to that concentration, 20%, getting the rest of the way to weapons grade is fast and easy. Thank you ML for finding this for us.

The Iran deal. A preliminary opinion.

So far, many pundits have looked at the US deal with Iran through the distillation process of their own areas of expertise. This may or may not be enlightening, depending on how relevant that expertise is and how much it factors in to the Iranian process.

Even so, some of the political pundits have weighed in rather brilliantly and I have posted some of those videos and articles here already. Andrew Bostom wrote on how the motives of the Islamic republic of Iran have been ignored by all. That the fanatical Jew-hatred and 12th imam ideology require the Iranian regime to start a world war to bring back the ‘boy in the well’,  and hatred of Jews requires them to make every effort to destroy an autonomous Jewish nation plumb in the middle of Dar-al-Islam.

The one area I wanted to familiarize myself with was the actual process. How does this deal impact the Iranian ability to produce nuclear weapons on schedule. I remember having watched a few times a series of videos on Youtube which was a lecture from a physics prof. at Cal Tech where the bomb was actually invented. It was very good and I downloaded them and stored them for future use but that was several moves ago and many more dead hard drives.

I wanted to watch the video below before I posted it to see if it was up to the standards of the lost ones and in some ways yes it is, and in others, not nearly as useful. But I do feel it is worth watching. Fortunately it is well explained enough that the visuals are not perfectly necessary so you can go about your day to day things while it plays in the background and you should be able to understand enough of it to make the call yourselves.

The things to keep in mind while watching this are:

1. Iran is working on both methods of making nuclear weapons at once. The uranium bomb and the plutonium bomb. So while everyone counts grams of U235 in the centrifuges, Iran may easily have enough plutonium for a production line now. As far as I know, the inspectors have never been allowed near those facilities.

2. Iran may choose to go forwards with less than weapons grade as they get the effect they want anyway with Hiroshima grade. Which is less enriched than modern optimal purity for weapons.

3. It seems that once you get to 20% enrichment that getting to a degree of enrichment of the U235 method is fast and easy. I believe that Iran already has a great deal of 20% enriched. If this is the case the US deal may actually facilitate the bomb process as the increased funds they will get from the eased sanctions should let them jump to the last stage of weapons materials quickly and with much less pain than during full sanctions.

If anyone is familiar with the physics of this, please feel free to comment under this post. I really do think that is the one area missing in terms of expert opinions with respect to the Iranian deal with the US.
