Geopolitics: Movement in Iraq, shiia Vs. Sunni and Islam inspired horror.

1. Here is a video of Shiia volunteers getting ready to face off with ISIS/ISAL

2. BasNews gives detail about Iranian forces in Iraq

The Iranian forces deployed to Kurdistan’s disputed areas and Nineveh province in response to the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) are made up of Kurds, Lors and Turks.

Security sources from Kurdish cities in Iran state that some Iranian soldiers have entered Iraq’s disputed areas and settled there under the excuse of fighting against ISIS. But on Wednesday a number of Iranian soldiers came close to Khanaqin, and they are high military advisors who previously trained Assad’s soldiers in Syria.

3. Iranian forces enter Kurdistan Region

Iranian forces have entered the Kurdistan Region and are based in Naft Khana, a border town near the city of Khanaqin in Diyala Province, which is under control of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).

A reliable source in Khanaqin that asked to remain anonymous has told BasNews that the Iranians were deployed a few days ago after the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham (ISIS) took control of most areas of mid and northern Iraq.

(I haven’t seen it all yet. I doubt I will. But for those who want to read enemy propaganda in order to better understand them its required viewing)

5. Lindsey Graham on CNN discusses Iraq and attacks the presidents decision to not make a decision. Itself, a decision.

6. Shiias prepare for war with ISIS.

(It is interesting to hear the Shiia call ISIS apostates as I am certain the Sunni Al-Qaeda people would also think of the Shiias similarly)

7. Another US legislator makes the argument against involvement in Iraq today.

  1. ‘Islamists’ attack Kenyan coastal town (BBC, June 15, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-27862510

“Suspected Islamist militants have attacked hotels and a police station in the Kenyan coastal town of Mpeketoni, military officials say. Witnesses reported seeing buildings on fire and hearing gunfire in the town, which is near Lamu island. It is not yet clear if there are any casualties.

Kenya has suffered a number of militant attacks since 2011 when its forces entered neighbouring Somalia to combat al-Shabab fighters. Kenya’s Standard newspaper said on its website the attackers had stolen weapons and vehicles from the police station, which was on fire.

It said local residents had fled to nearby forests. The paper also quoted a witness as saying he had counted six bodies in the street, but this could not be confirmed. Kenyan army spokesman Major Emmanuel Chirchir said gunmen entered Mpeketoni, a busy trading centre, and started “shooting people”. The “assailants [are] likely to be al-Shabab,” Major Chirchir said. He said surveillance aircraft were looking for the attackers.

Nearby Lamu island is a popular tourist destination with ancient architecture that is listed as a Unesco World Heritage site…”

  2. Sri Lanka imposes curfew after Buddhist-Muslim clashes (BBC, June 15, 2014)
    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-27860156

“The Sri Lankan authorities have imposed a curfew on two southern towns to quell clashes between a hardline Buddhist group and Muslims. The latest violence began after a Buddhist rally in Aluthgama. Several people are reported to have been injured, shops burned and stones thrown at Buddhist marchers there.

The curfew was later extended to include mainly Muslim Beruwala. Muslims make up around 10% of Sri Lanka’s predominantly Buddhist population. Eyewitness accounts tell of Muslims being pulled off local buses and beaten. There are also reports of looting.

The clashes are said to have begun after the rally held by the BBS, the Bodu Bala Sena, or Buddhist Brigade. The gathering came three days after a smaller clash between Muslim youths and a Buddhist monk’s driver…”

  4. RUSSIA – CRIMEA- Arson attempt at Mosque in Simferopol

This morning an unidentified man threw a Molotov cocktail at the mosque in the Simferopol district of Luhove.

The imam of the mosque Muhammad Islamov informs that the surveillance cameras shows that at 5 o’clock in the morning a man in bright clothes with a hood approached the mosque and started throwing Molotov cocktails.

“That person was well prepared. He nimbly lit Molotov cocktails, quickly threw three bottles at the mosque, and ran away,” said the imam.

In addition, a Nazi swastika was painted on the fence next to the mosque.

According to the press service of the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Crimea, the mosque was not really damaged. Law enforcement officers are working on site to find out the circumstances of the arson.

According to BBC, a few days ago unknown persons stole a surveillance camera from the mosque, but it was quickly replaced.

  5. SRI LANKA – BBC – Sri Lanka imposes curfew after Buddhist-Muslim clashes

The clashes are said to have begun after the rally held by the BBS, the Bodu Bala Sena, or Buddhist Brigade.

The gathering came three days after a smaller clash between Muslim youths and a Buddhist monk’s driver.

After its rally, the BBS marched into Muslim areas chanting anti-Muslim slogans, reports say, and the police used tear gas to quell the violence. Unconfirmed reports say security forces also used gunfire.

Witnesses say Muslim homes and a mosque were stoned.

The situation is confusing and there is an air of danger as violence has spread to several areas, a BBC reporter in Aluthgama says.

  6. The United States is preparing to open a direct dialogue with Iran about how to deal with the Sunni insurgency in Iraq, a senior official said on Sunday.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the official said the US was considering engaging with its longtime adversary about Iraq, where the government of prime minister Nuri al-Maliki is struggling to repel a militants who have seized several cities.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday that Washington was preparing to open talks with Iran on ways to push back the militants.

Citing senior US officials, the newspaper said the dialogue was expected to begin this week. It comes as the US and other world powers strive for an agreement with Tehran to curb its nuclear program.

US senator Lindsey Graham said on Sunday that Washington needed Iran’s involvement to prevent a government collapse in Iraq and should open talks with Tehran.

“We are probably going to need their help to hold Baghdad,” Graham, a South Carolina Republican, said on CBS’ Face the Nation.

Graham, a member of the Senate armed services Committee, said the idea was “unattractive” but compared it to the US working with the Soviet Union against Adolf Hitler.

US” The Iranians have an interest. They have Shia populations to protect. We need a dialogue of some kind,” to help stabilize Iraq but also to set limits to ensure Iran does not use the situation to seize territory, he said.

I can’t believe how consistently wrong-headed the current crop of Democrats is. The only thing that Congresswoman is concerned with is giving cover to her fearless leader, not with doing the right thing. The fact that the enemy is about to make enormous gains does not even enter her dim little left wing mind. She really doesn’t have a clue, does she. It’s all 100% “wag-the-dog”, with these people.

    • Odd, I am in agreement with her. We should just leave.
We don’t even know our enemy let alone fight the enemy.

  8. Iraq arrest that exposed wealth and power of Isis jihadists

The story of Isis, the band of militants that came from nowhere with nothing to having $2bn and two cities

“By the end of the week, we soon realised that we had to do some accounting for them,” said the official flippantly. “Before Mosul, their total cash and assets were $875m [£515m]. Afterwards, with the money they robbed from banks and the value of the military supplies they looted, they could add another $1.5bn to that.”

  9. Saudi toddler survives slaughter attempt by her brother

Boy, 3, was imitating abattoir practices after witnessing them

Manama: A toddler aged 18 months in Saudi Arabia has barely survived a killing attempt by her brother who was influenced by slaughtering scenes he had just witnessed at a sheep abattoir.

The boy, aged three, had accompanied his father to the slaughterhouse in the Naseem neighbourhood in the Saudi capital Riyadh where he saw how sheep were slaughtered.

When he returned home, he seemingly wanted to apply the same process with his sister, Shawq, took a knife from the kitchen and tried to slaughter her, local news site Sabq reported on Sunday.

Shawq was rescued by the parents and the father took her to a local hospital where she was treated.

The father said that he had a guest at his home and decided to buy meat for the occasion. He took his son with him to buy a sheep and afterwards to the abattoir.

“As we were waiting for our turn, my son was standing with me and he saw how workers slaughtered sheep and skinned them,” the father said. “When we returned home, we were shocked to discover that he attacked his young sister and stabbed her in the chest and the neck in an imitation of what he had seen at the abattoir. Blood was coming out so profusely from Shawq that we panicked and we took her to hospital,” he said.

  10. Martin,
I should have known from Moh+dog, my carelessness.
But if you remember, please warn next time.
    Thanks

  11. Poor dog. In fact poor all canines in Muslim countries.

Dogs can smell a Muslim – or I should say, they can smell a non-Muslim, and will try to get friendly with him. They will avoid a Muslim. This was also noticed by Allied troops in Iraq.
