Shootout in Belgium That Killed Three People Probed as Terror Attack
“The attacker was reportedly identified as a Belgian citizen, Benjamin Herman, born in 1982, already known to the police for a number of criminal cases, according to RTL info.
He recently left prison, where he contacted extremist prisoners, the agency asserts.”

The gunman opened fire on a police patrol in the centre of Liege, Belgium, killing two officers, both female, and a male passer-by.
He is believed to have then taken a woman hostage in a school as more police rushed to the scene.
The city’s public prosecutor confirmed the attack was being investigated as a terrorist incident.
He said the man attacked the two officers from behind with a knife, took one of their guns and shot them both dead. He also shot dead a young man who was the passenger in a parked car and took refuge in a school where he was killed in a subsequent gunfight during which several other police were wounded.
æLa Libre Belgique newspaper quoted a police source as saying the gunman shouted “Allahu Akbar” – “God is greatest” in Arabic – and RTBF said investigators believed the attacker may well have had a terrorist motive.”

Yesterday (12 May 2018) a fight broke outside a pita bar at the Rooseveltplaats in Antwerp. Two men, a father and his son, were sitting on the terrace drinking alcohol but that was not to the liking of the owner, who does not sell alcohol. It turned into a serious fight.
“The manager had approached the men about their behavior and then a scuffle started. It looked like a massive brawl but apparently there were also a lot of bystanders. ”
“The two men were taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries. One of them also had a broken leg, so the consequences can be termed serious,” said spokesman Wouter Bruyns.
Politician Filip Dewinter (Vlaams Belang) posted a video of the brawl on Twitter.

Redouane Ahrouch, the founder and the president of Belgium’s “Islam” party, refused to look women in the eye during a TV debate. He also didn’t shake their hands. One of the women said she felt “humiliated” and “worthless” afterwards, Belgian newspaper Gazet van Antwerpen reports.
When the Islam party was created, one of its goals was to promote better integration of Belgium’s Muslim population. But, just after Ahrouch had been elected, he switched his position and recently said he wants to create an Islamic State in Belgium.

A Muslim driver attempted to crash his vehicle into a Jewish father and son while they were walking to synagogue on Shabbat in Antwerp, Belgium. Local police apprehended the driver who claimed he was only trying to scare the two. He is to be remanded in court Sunday.

A KNIFEMAN has been shot dead after trying to attack soldiers on patrol in Brussels, police have confirmed.
The attacker shouted “Allahu Akbar” (Arabic for ‘God is Great’) twice before attempting to murder to the two soldiers, according to the Belgian federal prosecutors.
He was taken to hospital after being shot but he has since died.
A spokeswoman for the prosecution service said earlier: “With the identity that we currently have it is a 30-year-old man who is not known for terrorist activities.”
The incident is now being treated as an attempted terrorist murder.

Brussels terror fears: Police open fire on car ‘with EXPLOSIVES inside’ in Molenbeek

POLICE shot at a car during a high-speed chase through a Brussels suburb after the driver claimed to have explosives inside.
Several police officers shot at the wheels of the car, reported to be a Citroen Picasso registered in Germany, before the driver was arrested.
Police spokesman Johan Berckmans told local media: “We pulled out the driver, who directly stated that there were explosives on board.”
The security alert took place in the suburb of Molenbeek this afternoon.
Brussels station blast: suspect ‘wearing explosive belt’ has been ‘neutralised’ by police
Belgian anti-terror troops have “neutralised” a suspect, reportedly wearing an explosives belt, who had set off a small explosion inside Brussel’s central train station.
The station and the adjacent historic downtown area, packed with tourists, was evacuated as police set up a security cordon at around 9pm local time, witnesses said.
“There was an accident at Central Station. There was an explosion around a person. That person was neutralised by the soldiers that were on the scene,” a police spokesman said.

One day after the act of terror i London, it appears an attack was prevented in the Belgium town of Antwerp.
According to police, Thrusday forenoon, a man drove with high speed through the main shopping street. People had to jump to the sides, they say. The car had caught police’s attention because it was crossing a red traffic light.
After being chased by security forces, the car was stopped, the driver arrested. He was wearing a camouflage uniform. Several stabbing weapons, one gun, and a canister containing an unknown substance were found in the car..

The arrested is from Northern Africa, and, according to media reports, already known to the police for illegal possession of weapons. The Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel thanked the security forces on Twitter.

Although they put in the allah hu ackbar part, probably because RT reported it first, they still managed to make a kabab knife into a machete. I suppose one could call that the new alchemy of the Marxist press. We are assuming it was a Kabab knife because Machetes are pretty much a thing of the Americas and Kabab knives are common in the Muslim population in Europe. Can’t see why there would be a lot of machetes there.
