British lord asks to arrest any British citizen who was in Israel during op cast lead

Once again the British Lord who threatened to have ten thousand rioting Muslims on the streets of London should Geert WIlders be allowed entry to England, has shown his true loyalties and values by asking that any UK citizen who was in Britain during operation Cast lead be arrested and tried for war crimes. As is typical for Muslims in the west and the double think and hypocracy we are getting all to used to now, this is a tad surreal.

Press TV: Lord Nazir Ahmed, you raised question in Parliament about the legal implications of British Jews serving in the IDF. What was the response?

Lord Ahmed: I asked Her Majesty’s government if they were aware of British citizens who may have been involved with the war crimes committed by the Israeli Defense Force and Israeli Defense Reserves. Her Majesty’s government did not have any figures because dual nationals do not have to inform the government. However, there are reports in the Daily Mirror and The Sun with the names of British citizens who have been fighting in Gaza.

The point I was making is that war crimes have been committed, white phosphorous has been used and if there are people who have broken the 4th Geneva Convention, then whoever they are, when they return to this country, they should be arrested and charged – unlike the Major General who escaped in 2005.

Press TV: Are you certain these are up to date reports about British citizens serving in Israel?

Lord Ahmed: These are very new reports, dated January 2009, of British citizens who have gone out to fight against the Palestinian people as part of the IDF. Their names and ages are mentioned in these reports.
We know that there are student unions that have been actively recruiting young people in Britain to join the Israeli Defense Force and we also know that there are young Jewish students who go and serve on the kibbutz and also in schools, who are also then doing national service in Israel.

Melanie Phillips writes on Durban II

I do not know if she wrote and published this before the USA pulled out or if she knows yet. But her article has a lot of calid points about the damage done merely by examining the possibility of going. Fortunately I believe there is still time for the Czech’s and the UK to pull out of Durban. In any case here is the article:

Silent in the face of antisemitism

In a letter to the Jerusalem Post, David Harris, director of the American Jewish Committee [AJC], has defended his organization’s decision to participate in the preparatory meeting for Durban II — the follow-up to the 2001 U.N. World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, which took place in Durban, South Africa.

Two weeks ago, AJC senior official Felice Gaer was part of the delegation America sent to try to improve the draft of the declaration, the final version of which will ultimately be approved at Durban II itself. The U.S. vowed that if its attempts to improve the draft failed, it would not participate in the final conference.

Israel and the United States walked out of the 2001 conference in protest against the anti-Semitism on display there. Israel and Canada have already announced that they do not intend to participate in the Durban II conference in Geneva this April, fearing a re-run. The Jerusalem Post’s Caroline Glick raised similar concerns, which is what compelled Harris to respond.

Harris wrote that although “under the present circumstances” the United States should not attend the April conference, “this leaves two options: to throw up our hands, or work to change those circumstances.”

The AJC, he explains, believed it should “work with our government to assess whether Durban is beyond salvaging. . . . If Durban can be fixed, everybody wins — not least, the global struggle against racism, to which AJC has been committed for more than a century. If it can’t, we will absolutely seek to hold the administration to its promise to withdraw.”

This is, to put it mildly, a serious misjudgment. Durban II is intrinsically a disgrace, and no civilized country should have anything to do with it. Since it is being run by the U.N. Human Rights Council — whose Durban Preparatory Committee is chaired by Libya, with Iran and Cuba as vice-chairs — the idea that such a meeting can assist in “the global struggle against racism” is absurd.

WASHINGTON (JTA) — The Obama administration has decided to boycott the so-called Durban II conference out of concerns for anti-Semitism.

Multiple sources on a conference call with the White House on Friday told JTA that the Obama administration had opted not to attend any further preparatory meetings ahead of the planned U.N. conference against racism in Geneva in April.

The conference reprises the 2001 conference in Durban, South Africa that devolved into an anti-Jewish free-for-all. Canada and Israel have opted not to attend the conference, and some U.S. Jewish groups had been pressing the United States to do the same.

Preparations for a draft document so far have seen Iran leading a coterie of nations blocking inclusion of anything that might guarantee Jewish protections – including mention of the Holocaust – while inserting draconian language guarding Islam against “insult.”

The State Department sent a delegation, including a senior staffer from the American Jewish Committee, to this month’s preparatory talks. The delegation’s conclusions were that the anti-Israel and anti-Western tendencies were too deeply entrenched to excise.

Now that the United States is withdrawing from the conference, European nations are expected to follow.

Speaking for the White House on Friday’s call were Samantha Power and James Warlick, who handle international organizations for, respectively, the national security council and the State Department; and Jennifer Simon, an adviser to Susan Rice, the U.S. envoy to the United Nations.

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Assailants threw an explosive at a Jewish community center on Thursday, but nobody was hurt in the blast — the second assault against Venezuela’s Jewish community this year.

Abraham Garzon, president of the Jewish Community Center, told the local Globovision television news channel that a small explosive resembling a pipe-bomb was lobbed at the building in Caracas before dawn on Thursday. The explosion damaged the doors to the center.

“It seems there are people in the country dedicated to sowing terrorism,” Garzon said.

No one claimed responsibility for the attack, which immediately reignited fears of rising anti-Semitism in Venezuela.

It was the second attack against a Jewish institution this year.

A Caracas synagogue was ransacked and vandalized last month. The assailants shattered religious objects, spray-painted “Jews, get out” on the temple’s walls and stole a computer database containing names and addresses of Jews living in Venezuela.

Authorities have arrested 11 people, including eight police officers, suspected of participating in the attack. Investigators believe the assailants forced their way into the temple to steal a large amount of cash they believed was inside. The vandalism, authorities say, could have been aimed at turning attention away from the true motive behind the crime.

On Thursday, Sergio Widder of the Los Angeles-based Simon Wiesenthal Center criticized Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez for failing to take steps aimed at curbing anti-Semitism.

Chavez should strongly criticize pro-government Web sites and newspapers that have carried articles and columns that many Venezuelan Jews perceive as anti-Semitic, he said.

“This is outrageous, it’s turning into an escalation,” said Widder, the center’s representative for Latin America. “It’s the government’s responsibility to stop this.”

During Israel’s offensive in Gaza, Chavez fiercely criticized the Jewish state and ordered the Israeli ambassador out of Venezuela. Protests against the military incursion were held in Caracas and demonstrators hurled shoes at and sprayed graffiti on the Israeli embassy.

Chavez, who has repeatedly condemned the Jan. 30 attack on the synagogue, denies being anti-Semitic. The socialist leader says he simply opposes Israeli policies toward the Palestinians. He accuses the Israeli government of acting as an arm of Washington.

I guess in the highly competitive world of antisemitism in Islamic states you have to get more and more outrageous to get attention. Much like slutty rock queens in the west who have to be caught it a more lewd scandal than the previous diva did to sell records and make headlines. One wonders though how bizarre the accusations can be and still be believed. Sadly in nations where reason is anathema and evidence is not important, you can go pretty far. The Nazis made some fairly outlandish and imaginative claims and as far as I know did not get questioned much on them. It will be interesting to see what the competition offers on CAMEL news next week.

Vladtepesblog clearly exists to make a point. But what if evidence of that same point was so unbelievable that presenting that evidence would make it less likely the point would get made?

Suppose for instance that this was a blog trying to prove the existence of extra terrestrials and there was actual, bona fide verifiable measurable and in plain site evidence of aliens that looked like Barbara Streisand but had 3 bottoms and a forty foot tentacle where a tongue should be.  The temptation for a reasonable site would be not to present it, not because it wasn’t true but because such a thing is so obscene one looses ones credibility even though by all reasonable accounts, the thing is true.

So it is with the ‘fecal jihad’. So far I have managed to avoid reproducing the few reports I have come across of Muslims being arrested and charged in the UK mostly, for having contaminated food stuff at bakeries and so on with their own fecal matter and urine. One such baker collected his own feces, dried it and put the shavings on cakes he sold to an unwitting public. (Granted I make the assumption the public was unwitting. It wasn’t specified that they where but I take the license to assume that there was no sign advertising shit cake.)

So I have avoided republishing these news reports. Until now. This one was just to hard to ignore as the man has been arrested and was found in possession of many bottles of a mixture of feces, urine amonia and delivery devices with labels for cities on each one, and was charged with doing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage to foodstuffs book stores and property in general.

A brief quote from the link above to a British Newspaper:

A man who is accused of waging a urine and feces-spraying campaign at two supermarkets, a pub and a bookshop caused £700,000 damage, a court heard yesterday.

Sahnoun Daifallah, 42, is alleged to have squirted a brown, foul-smelling substance from a spray container at four businesses in Gloucestershire on May 14 and 16 last year.

The court heard the man from White City, Gloucester, visited the Air Balloon pub at around 12.45pm on May 14 where police were called after he asked a barmaid Susan Lawson-Bagent how much it would cost to rape her.

When officers arrived Daifallah had gone but he had left a trail of stench behind him which the prosecution say was his calling card.

Stephen Dent, prosecuting, told the jury: “He mixed up an evil potion of various biological ingredients including his own feces and urine.

“It was not until after he had left that staff started to notice a bad smell of excrement.

“We say that this was his little calling card because he did not like the way he had been treated.”

Daifallah then moved on to Waterstone’s bookstore in Cirencester where it is alleged he sprayed the brown substance all over a toilet in the coffee shop.

Staff noticed the smell but it was not until after he had left the store that they discovered a 20-metre area of 38 shelves had been doused in the foul substance.

It goes on in some detail like that. Worth the read. But you get the point. I have read many accounts of this sort of thing and managed to avoid reprinting it or mentioning it in any forum as it is so outrageous that it does more harm than good as one immediately looks like some sort of anti Muslim nutbar and lose all credibility at once. Yes, when I stick to more banal stories about plots by Muslims in the west to kill us all, subject us to barbaric sharia law, end modernity and commit genocide against Jews homosexuals and return us all to the 7th century we are all familiar with this so it doesn’t detract. But a fecal jihad? C’mon you have to be joking.

I wish.

Next, an article from the National Post online on anti semitism in Canada. The comments are a fun read as well. The article is  few days old as I can only manage so much depression in one day. This focuses on Canada’s civil service union, CUPE and its rather extra curricular activity of Israel baiting and extends it somewhat to Jew trashing as it asked that no Jewish professor be allowed to teach at a Canadian university unless they agree to denounce Israel.

On a similar theme, this article also from the National Post online on the global reawakening of antisemitism.

Despite all this I still think Rabbi Meir Kahane , the founder of the Jewish Defence league is wrong when he makes outrageous statements like ‘Every Jew a .22’.

Would require a .32 at least.

Which reminds me of what a friend of mine said when a policeman asked him why he was carrying a Colt 45.

University workers within CUPE, the Canadian Union of Public Employees, have passed a motion calling for an academic boycott of Israel. Union members from at least one Toronto university plan to pressure their school to slice any financial ties with the Jewish state. The committee representing  the union’s university workers call on the union to create an education campaign on what proponents claim is Israel’s apartheid practices against Palestine.

CUPE president Sid Ryan said ” we want to do what we can in a peaceful way to end the occupation of Palestine”.  He would also like to investigate ties between Canadian universities and Israel. Jewish groups and some of CUPE’s own unions oppose the motion. “ Here we have a situation where a once proud nation has sunk so low as to have a small group put forward a motion that is, on it’s face, bigoted, discriminatory and anti-Jewish” said chief executive officer of the Canadian Jewish Congress, Bernie Farber.

Ryan’s latest statement and overall sentiment sound eerily familiar; much akin to the anti-Semitic sentiment and rhetoric that have so frequently appeared in essay and op-ed form on the Canadian Islamic Congress website. Note also, the union support given to such groups. Colonialization, apartheid, ethnic cleansing, persecution, the Zionist regime and genocide are all phrases popular with one of Canada’s most prominent Islamist propaganda machines; the CIC. Is this culture collusion? and if so, what’s in it for Sid? Perverted notoriety? or could the shared sentiment and solidarity be fuelled by the atrophied Troubles that may have followed him from the old sod just as failure, intolerance and bigotry have followed and shaped the radical Islam? This alliance may prove to be a sympathetic match made in heaven, with soul mates content in a common legitimization of bigotry fuelled by untold ignorance, arrogance and marked error.

CUPE has no business in Jew hating and anti-Semitism it is not an industry by which it should be affiliating or defining itself. Besides, it is well dominated by Islamist groups flourishing in this nation without the need of further assistance. Mr. Ryan also has no business collecting dues from a union populace whose majority wish to distance themselves from such hatefulness. Universities are places of higher learning  and should not be pimped out as platforms for Islamic radicals, Arab thugs and leftist goons to peddle their extremism. CUPE’s motion is a disgrace not an act of solidarity.

Phyllis Chesler has been writing recently on Islam and so called honor killings and domestic violence. She is quite probably the first and certainly one of the most knowledgeable authors on this subject who comes from a western background. This new article by Ms. Chesler is quite exceptional and brings into focus other lesser known femicides by Muslim men and details some of the reasons the western media as well as western feminist organizations have been ignoring Muslim killing of women. For those of you who have read her material on the Buffalo beheading of the TV station owner’s wife, don’t think you know this already and skip it. This is very good and needs to be read by all in my opinion.

Here is an article about the numbers of dead and so on in operation cast lead, the Israeli defense action in Gaza recently. The article gives hard numbers and deals with the Hamas propaganda machine and how they manipulated world opinion with fabrications. The damage however has been done. I came within moments of an actual fist fight at a local bar recently because my opponent, a regular middle aged white Canadian male, had bought the Palestinian party line hook line and sinker without question. The facts as he had accepted them, being entirely baseless made no difference. the damage was done. At one point I asked him how fe felt about the Israeli’s having bombed the UN school in Gaza. His answer was the predictable foaming outrage. When I pointed out that this event never actually happened and the school was never bombed even according to the UN itself it made no difference whatsoever except to enrage him further. So I post this link more as an example of how little difference the truth makes in the end as well as a mild catharsis for those of us who know the difference between right and wrong and truth and fiction.

Next, a link to a National Post article on the ‘new antisemitism’. It’s a worthy read but I really like this quote from Canada Prime Minister Stephen Harper speaking on the holocaust…

“this genocide was so premeditated and grotesque in design, so monstrous and barbaric in scale and so systematic and efficient in execution that is stands alone in the annals of human evil.”

“Unfortunately in some countries,” he went on, “hatred of the Jews is still preached from religious pulpits and still proclaimed from political podiums. There are still people who would perpetrate another Holocaust if they could.”

What do you know, the prime minister of Canada actually understands the issues facing the world today. This makes Canada and the Czech republic with possible seconds of Denmark and Italy and one lone voice out of Holland, pretty much all that’s left of western secular multilateral liberal democracies that have visited an opthamologist in the past 20 years.

We withdrew from a process that sees Iran sitting on the organizing committee, a country whose president has repeatedly engaged in inciting genocide against the Jewish nation; a conference in which Libya plays a central role on the organizing committee; a conference where many of the key organizing meetings were set on Jewish High Holidays to diminish the participation of Israeli and Jewish delegates; a process which reinvited all of the NGOs that turned the original Durban conference into a notorious hatefest, including those responsible for circulating copies of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and organizations which outside the conference venue held up portraits of Adolf Hitler.

This really is a good article and worth the few minutes to read. I must say, since Stephen Harper became Prime Minister of Canada I have felt more pride in my Canadian heritage than I have ever felt in my life.

Arabic group loses federal funding over hatred

OTTAWA — Immigration Minister Jason Kenney is poised to slash federal funding to Canada’s largest Arabic group after its president called him a “professional whore” for supporting Israel.

In an exclusive interview with Sun Media from London, England, where he is to speak today at an international conference on anti-Semitism, Kenney said groups are free within legal bounds to say what they like. But groups whose leaders say intolerant or hateful things shouldn’t get taxpayer funding.

“We should not be rewarding those who express views that are contrary to Canada’s best liberal values of tolerance and mutual respect.”

One of those groups, said Kenney, is the Canadian Arab Federation whose president Khaled Mouammar called him a “professional whore” after Kenney criticized the presence of Hezbollah and Hamas flags at anti-Israel rallies in Toronto.

Kenney said the same group criticized Liberal MP Bob Rae because of his wife’s involvement in Canada’s Jewish community.

The federation received a $447,297 contribution from Kenney’s department to operate a settlement program in Toronto for two years, teaching new immigrants language and job searching skills.

HELP FOR NEWCOMERS

Kenney said he has already asked department officials to weigh comments made by groups when evaluating funding applications, and the comments made by the Arab Federation president will affect its contribution when the current one expires in March 2010.

Mouammar, however, says that Kenney’s decision will hurt newcomers to Canada, not just Arabs. Arabs make up only 5% of those who receive his group’s settlement services, which Mouammar said were among the best in the Toronto area. Mouammar said Kenney’s decision is “vindictive” and accused him of promoting Islamophobia internationally.

“This government is anti-Arab and anti-Muslim,” he said, adding the federal government has refused to meet with the Canadian Arab Federation or the Canadian Islamic Congress since Prime Minister Stephen Harper came to power.

In the interview and in his speech, Kenney was also critical of the Canadian Islamic Congress, saying its former president Mohamed Elmasry once tried to “legitimize the killing of all Israeli adults.”

Wahida Valiante, who succeed Elmasry as president of the CIC — which doesn’t get government funding — said Kenney misrepresented Elmasry’s comments on the world stage.

Kenney’s comments come as he is attending the meeting of the International Parliamentary Coalition to Combat Anti-Semitism. Kenney said the theme emerging from the meeting is the new and growing anti-Semitism around the world in the form of anti-Zionism.

This morning on the Steve Madely program on CFRA Feb 17th 2009 journalist Elizabeth Thompson of the National Bureau was interviewed concerning this story. She added that what sparked Jason Kenny to withdraw funding from these groups was the waving of Hamas and Hizbulah flags at various rallies in Toronto over the Israel Gaza conflict, (covered extensivly on Vlad) which indicated terrorist sympathies at the very least. Hamas and Hizbolah are both illegal terrorist organizations in Canada.

Anti-Semitism now at Second World War high, argues Mandela’s former counsel

If there is any doubt as to the veracity of the article below, a quick bit of research on Durban II should satisfy any skeptic as to the value of the UN and international bodies on global anti semitism. By the way, Canada is the only nation so far (that I am aware of) which has declared it’s intention not to attend Durban II as it appears to be a sequel to Durban I which was a hate fest against Israel and a highly irrational one, and by extension, to Jews world wide. But do you’re own research on this. It would be better to draw conclusions from as many sources as you can find. The views of VTB I’m certain will be expected.

This one is arguably the most pernicious of all. Notice the constant attempt to blur the line between religious beliefs which are arbitrary and voluntary, and racial discrimination. Clearly the attempt is successfully being made to make criticism of a genocidal and hate filled ideology, and even if it was not, an ideology nonetheless, with racial hatred. One would imagine no one at the UN or EU had ever taken a basic course in logic or taxonomy. Imagine if the Nazis or Catholic church in the middle ages and taken this stance.

A new, virulent and even “lethal” anti-Semitism is sweeping the globe and putting the lives of both Jews and non-Jews at risk, a leading human rights lawyer will argue this week.

At a conference in London of 100 parliamentarians from 40 countries, Irwin Cotler, a human rights lawyer from Canada who was once counsel to Nelson Mandela, will argue that the world is seeing a return to the vicious anti-Semitism that culminated in the Nazi Holocaust and the death of six million Jews.

In a paper seen by The Times to be presented at the conference tomorrow, Mr Colter says the level of anti-Semitism is “without parallel or precedent since the end of the Second World War.”

He says there is a “new anti-Jewishness” that overlaps with classical anti-Semitism. Where traditional anti-Semitism is the assault on the rights of Jews to live as equal members of whatever host society they inhabit, the new anti-Semitism involves the discrimination against the right of the Jewish people to live as an equal member of the family of nations.
The focus is on Israel as totemic of the entire Jewish people. And whereas in the past the goal of anti-Semites was to rid the world of Jews, now it is to rid the world of the state of Israel, he says.
He says Israel is not above the law and must be held accountable for any violations of international law or human rights. “The Jewish people are not entitled to any privileged protection or preference because of the particularity of Jewish suffering.”
But he says that extremist attacks on Israel are still anti-Semitic. He cites the parading in the streets of Teheran of a Shihab-3 missile draped in the emblem ‘Wipe Israel off the Map’ and the statement by Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Zahar proclaims that, ‘before Israel dies, it must be humiliated and degraded’.”
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has also said that “If all the Jews were gathered in Israel it would be easier to kill them all at the same time”.

Anti-Israel activists attack Jewish club’s offices at York University in Toronto, shouting racial slurs

Another anti-Semitic incident took place in a Canadian university Thursday when over 100 anti-Israel activists surrounded a campus building belonging to the Jewish student club ‘Hillel’ at York University, Toronto. The activists pounded on office doors while yelling out racial slurs.

Campus security was forced to alert police to restore order and the latter demanded that the offices be shut down.

An anti-Israel march is also scheduled for Friday, and ‘Hillel’ leaders have called on Jewish students to arrive with Israeli flags in order to show support for the country.But anti-Semitism also took its toll outside of the campus. A Jewish student reported receiving a phone call during which an unidentified person threatened his life and those of his family members if he were to continue his pro-Israeli activities in the university.

Bert Camp, of York Police, said the case was being investigated by the hate crimes unit because the threatened student is a well-known pro-Israeli figure on campus. Camp said the threats were in all probability related to Israel’s offensive in Gaza.

York University, one of the largest in Canada, is home to many Jewish and Israeli students, and many of its faculty members are Jewish. But in recent years the number of Muslim students on campus has increased, and its student council has been characterized as anti-Israeli. The council published statements condemning Israel during its operation in Gaza.

The following is an eyewitness account of the harassment felt by Jewish members of the DROP YFS team while holding a press conference

Drop YFS held a press conference in a room that could only comfortably fit 30 people, to announce the success of our petition. After letting about 50 people in, we told people that they couldn’t come in, because we were at capacity, and didn’t want to break fire code.

Once the conference started, people started banging on the door, yelling “Let us in” and “Zionist Racists”.

The conference was canceled, and all the students were asked to leave. The students who left were greeted by a mob chanting slurs against them, chanting “this is OUR campus” and shoving some people.

The Jewish students who felt targeted, as well as some journalists, were invited to go up to Hillel, The Jewish student’s lounge, one floor up. They were followed up by about 100 people, who continued to chant, and some of whom approached the people watching the door.

The people watching the door retreated inside the lounge and locked the door once security arrived. Some people shoved past security and banged on the glass of the door.

Some Jewish students went out to confront the people banging on the door, and heard such comments as “leave our campus”, “Israelis off campus” and “Let’s break the glass and get them out”.

When a man with his face covered came to the door and banged on it, many students became terrified, began to cry, and some contacted the police.

When the police arrived, they told students to evacuate the room, and be escorted out. The Jewish students lined up, and walked out with their heads down, not saying anything or making eye contact, as instructed by the staff. They were escorted out of the area by police, as the mob of 100 or so chanted more racial slurs, and yelled “SHAME”.

Among the people seen leading the mob were Krishna Saravanamuttu, the York Federation of Students Vice President of Equity. I saw him after the rally shaking people’s hands and thanking them for coming.
