Four men, Wassim Fayad, 44, Zakaryah Raad, 21, Tolga Cifci, 21, and Cengiz Coskun, 22, were charged with administering 40 lashes to Martinez with an electrical cable.

All of the accused have plead not guilty.

Rulings by informal religious “councils” and tribunals are sometimes no more “consensual” than rape, peers were told.

The warnings came in the first ever full Parliamentary debate on the subject in the UK.

Baroness Cox, the independent peer and Third World campaigner, last year tabled a private member’s bill in the Lords setting out plans to rein in a network of unofficial self-styled “courts” which apply Islamic principles.

One study estimated that there are around 85 Sharia bodies operating in Britain, although there is no official estimate.

They include legally recognised arbitration tribunals, set up primarily to resolve financial disputes using Islamic legal principles but which have taken on a wider range of cases.

Virginia Teacher Charged With Assault: Girl’s Hand Cut in Forced ‘Islamic Hand Sign’ Drill (Updated)

An elementary school teacher in Chesapeake, Va. has been charged with simple assault after a parent claimed her daughter’s hand was cut open as a result of the teacher yanking her arm aggressively while trying to teach students an “Islamic hand sign.”

Officer Leo Kosinski, a spokesman for the Chesapeake Police Department, told TheBlaze that Tara Harris was criminally charged with a misdemeanor on Oct. 11 and released on a summons. The case is currently under investigation.

“It’s still a criminal charge. It happened at the school and it involved a student,” Kosinski said. The police department could not release any additional information.

Stephanie Bennett, the mother of the 10-year-old girl who was allegedly assaulted at Butts Road Intermediate School, told TheBlaze in an emotional phone interview that Harris has a disturbing trend of “indoctrinating” students with Islamic teachings. She also said the teacher openly campaigns for President Barack Obama in the classroom.

The mother said her daughter told her that Harris “prays to Allah in Arabic” around five times a day in front of students and teaches them about Islam and how it is superior to other religions. Bennett claims other parents have confirmed her suspicions after talking with their kids.

An Iraqi immigrant accused of fiddling more than £35,000 in benefits claims he did nothing wrong because he was acting under the rule of Islamic law.

Majid Hussain, who has not worked since arriving in Britain as a mature student in 1986, was paid income support, housing and council tax benefits for 13 years – and signed an annual assurance that he did not have any undeclared bank accounts.

But in fact during that time he had a secret bank account, containing a sum that rose from £18,000 to £36,000.

Hussain said the money was left in a trust by his father for his children’s education.

He said he had a duty under Islamic law and his own culture to honour an oath to his late father to preserve the money for the education of his four children, aged between nine and 18.

Therefore, he said, the money was in no way his.

Hussain’s income support was cut off after the account was discovered in 2010 but he is still claiming disability living allowance because he suffers from Crohn’s Disease, kidney problems and muscle pain.

Yesterday , in the market of Chemin Bas d’Avignon in Nîmes, moslems threatened wine sellers, a butcher who sells pork and a pork butcher, as well as vendors who sell ‘light clothing’, and banned them from coming back on pain of death.

Already a few months ago, a pork butcher disappeared from one day to the next, even though he had a good clientèle. No one understood why, according to a resident of the district. In june, the market’s commercial arcade was totally burned, and the inhabitants of the district created a collective to complain about the rise in violence from young moslems, without anything effective having been done about it by the local government.

On Radio France Bleue’s open line, a female moslem inhabitant of this quarter declared this morning that ‘I am still semi-surprised, for this is on the rise in the community. One states that this sentiment of communitarism progresses, the moslems will lock themselves up inside.’ ‘These are moslems who claim an extreme interpretation of islam’, says Morad [a caller – like also the other names] to this station. Abdel adds ‘that they should return to their countries. This is racism. These are people seeking provocation’.

Then it is Jacqueline’s turn, of whose voice we hear that she is in despair for having had to endure for years powerlessly this situation, given the indifference of the public powers: ‘This is a minority, sure’, says she to the Radio Bleue journalist, who refuses to qualify this as racism, ‘but this is a minority who prevents people from living normally.

If the opposite thing had happened, blood would have flown. This is anti-white, anti-christian racism.’ ‘We see little girls, maybe 5 years old, and veiled, this hurts’, says Monique, living in this street. ‘They enforce halal meat, and they don’t want that we eat what we want to eat. The longer this goes on, the more people are veiled. It’s these people who put the french into a mess.’ ‘This certainly is a minority’, witnesses José, ‘but within several weeks, they can rot a situation.

We haven’t said anything on the halal commerce. They want to create a ghetto. This is racism [the journaliste staving off the acusuation rapidly]. The authorities must stop that, must stop this fundamentalist.’ The good co-existence has failed, the integration has failed, the chance for France has turned into malediction. The conquering islam advances, the laders of France and the do-gooders profit in a stealth manner.

I dont get how England is not under the sharia.

If Jews or Christians do a prayer session on the grounds of one of England’s most iconic mosques it will be seen as a provocation most likely or trespassing at the very least and they will be arrested or removed. It would be expected that this would be filmed and expected that Muslims would find this offensive and that something would have to be done.

But if Muslims do a typical provocative prayer session at one of the worlds most iconic Christian buildings, then it is everyone else who has to be very careful how they tread.

How is this not the sharia? The grotesque and totalitarian warping of equality of the law for all to tilt in favour of Islam?

Woman beaten by own family for talking to a man

A woman claims she was beat by her family for talking to a man and on Friday, those family members were in court.

All three family members plead guilty. The 20-year-old victim had an outburst in court and interrupted the hearing.

She was crying and told the judge this was all her fault and she wants her mother back.

The judge repeatedly asked her to stop interrupting.

The alleged incidents happened when she was 19. Court records show she was burned on her face and chest with a hot spoon after refusing to participate in an arranged marriage with a 38-year-old man.

Records also state that victim was tied to a bed with a rope secured with a padlock until Feb. 8, when she was released to go to school.

The mother, 50-year-old Yusra Farhan, plead guilty to unlawful imprisonment. The father, 45-year-old Mohammed Altameemi, plead guilty to disorderly conduct and her 18-year-old sister, Tabarak Altameemi, plead guilty to misdemeanor assault.

Sentencing is scheduled for November 6th. The judge told the victim she’ll get her chance to talk at the sentencing.

Farhan and the Altameemis will most likely get probation.

Egyptian schoolgirls attacked by two Salafist men for eating popsicles.

CAIRO: Two bearded ultra-conservative men in Egypt attacked four elementary schoolgirls walking down a street eating ice popsicles. The men knocked the popsicles from the girls hands and began yelling at them.

They told them to stop eating the popsicles and go home, Bikyamasr.com witnessed. The girls, shocked at what was happening, stood frozen in their movement.

The two men continued their yelling, telling them to be “modest.” The girls began to cry.

Western Courts Bend to Islamic Practices

Judges’ consideration of Shari’a when deciding cases may be the most alarming avenue by which Islam influences Western legal systems, but it is not the only one. With increasing regularity, Islamic practices sway the administration of courtrooms, affecting when sessions are held, who must rise, and what attire is permissible. This trend should not be overlooked. Courts that yield to Islamic norms, even in mundane matters, encourage Islamists and cast doubt on the future of equal rights and responsibilities under the law.

Ramadan. The Islamic month of fasting can require significant shuffling of schedules by devout Muslims, but are secular courts obligated to alter theirs? Some answer in the affirmative.

Muslim convert Mark Edward Wetsch is one recent beneficiary. Charged with robbing 13 Minnesota banks, he objected to a hearing set for July 20, 2012, the first day of Ramadan, and asked that it be pushed back for a month. Though Judge Jeanne Graham initially declined the request, he persisted. Ramadan means “not engaging in conflict and argument,” but rather taking part in “work to reconcile differences and seek peace,” according to a motion filed on his behalf. “Clearly, a contested hearing in which the government is making allegations against Mr. Wetsch and he is fighting against [them] causes him to engage in conflict and argument.” Graham relented and issued the desired continuance.

The U.S. military court that will try five al-Qaeda terrorists accused of involvement in the 9/11 attacks bent to similar sensitivities this year. After turning their May 5 arraignment into a circus, the jihadists sought to postpone a hearing scheduled for the week of August 8, near the end of Ramadan. James Connell III, a government-compensated defense attorney, stressed in a filing that “the last 10 days of Ramadan commemorate the night God — Allah — revealed the Holy Quran to the Prophet Mohammed.” Hence, “these 10 days are the most holy period of the Muslim calendar and are typically observed by fasting, prayer, and seclusion.” Despite having previously ruled out Ramadan-related extensions, the judge, Colonel James Pohl, agreed to a delay. Connell was relieved: “It’s very difficult to pay attention to sometimes intricate legal proceedings when you haven’t had any sleep and you haven’t had any food.” (In one bright spot, Pohl rebuffed a petition not to hold hearings on Fridays, the day of communal Islamic prayers.)

KARACHI: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Saturday announced that the government would fight on all diplomatic fronts to stop the evil forces in the world from all kinds of anti-Islam actions like the recent blasphemous film.

Raja was addressing a ceremony at the Chief Minister’s House for distributing cheques among the heirs of the deceased and the injured of the factory fire incident in Baldia Town.

The prime minister reiterated his demand from United Nations and other international organisations to come up with an effective legislation against all kinds of anti-Islam acts which harm the co-existence and harmony among the followers of different religions.

“We would go to the UN and OIC and get a law passed to stop anti-Islam activities, including blasphemy, for-ever,” he added. The prime minister said the Muslims have respect and reverence for all prophets and messengers of God and also other religions in the world. The Muslims expect that followers of other religions would reciprocate in the same way, he added. It was time to wage a diplomatic war with full sincerity and commitment until the international community is convinced to take concrete action including due legislation against all kinds of anti-Islam activities that provoke the sentiments of the Muslim world, Raja said.
