Michael Coren does show in burka
England clearly needs some kind of smoke, baby carriage, Black clothing, small axe, cross dressing control laws!
Shortly before 11.35am on Sunday 1 July 2012, police were called to Choice Jewellers on Wilmslow Road to reports of a robbery.
A person dressed in a burka approached the jewellery shop with a baby’s pram.
They pressed the door bell and were allowed access, they blocked the door with the pram and took out an axe. Continue Reading →

Three women on flight from Doha barred from entering France after refusing to remove their face veils

A police union says three Saudi women who refused to remove their face veils at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport have been barred entry to France.
A 2011 French law bans people from wearing Islamic face-covering veils anywhere in public.
An official with the SGP-FO police union said today that border police asked the women to remove their veils after they arrived Monday on a flight from Doha, Qatar.

The official says the women refused, border police refused them entry in France, and they returned to Doha last night.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak publicly for the police.
Supporters of the ban say the veil contradicts France’s principles of secularism and women’s rights. Some Muslim groups say it stigmatises moderate Muslims.
Nicolas Sarkozy’s government introduced a ban on all forms of Islamic head coverings, including the niqab and the burka, last year.
Islamic-rights campaigners said it was ‘unconstitutional’ but Mr Sarkozy said the ban was not aimed at persecuting Muslims, merely part of an effort to make France a more tolerant, inclusive society.
When it was introduced, he said the ban was aimed at stopping criminals – from terrorists to shoplifters – disguising their faces from security staff and CCTV.

BRUSSELS — Belgian right-wingers have offered a bounty of €250 ($325) to anyone who reports a veiled woman to police, they said Tuesday after last week’s riots in Brussels over the arrest of a woman wearing a niqab.
Filip Dewinter, a senior figure in Vlaams Belang, a right-wing party, said the violence had made police apprehensive about enforcing the burka ban and the payment should put pressure on authorities to further enforce it.
“It’s a textile prison for the women who have to live under it,” he said.
Last week, protesters hurled bins and metal barriers at a police station after Stéphanie Djato, 24, was arrested for refusing to remove her face veil.
“They tried to enter by force, but they were not able to,” a spokesman for Brussels police told broadcaster RTL.
“So instead they threw metal barriers and bins.”
Ms. Djato, who was waiting at a streetcar stop, scuffled with officers after she refused to show them any ID. During the mêlée, a policewoman was injured.

David Menzies at Sun does something I always wanted to do. Test the double standard directly.
There is one thing that bugs me about this clip however. Mr. Menzies says to the security guard that koran or Islamic law or whatever doesn’t actually require face veiling. I would answer:
“Who gives a shit”. What matters is Canadian law and nothing else. To even start considering sharia, even when you think it is on your side, is a well greased slippery slope to dhimmitude.
Police chiefs back anti-mask bill
Let’s see if they have the guts to include a veil or burka in this ban. Frankly, other than halloween, I don’t see why a disguise is allowed in public at all in Canada.

Some Canadian police chiefs are voicing support for a private member’s bill that would criminalize wearing a mask or covering the face during a riot or unlawful assembly.
The bill, which was introduced in the House of Commons by Conservative MP Blake Richards of Alberta, proposes making the wearing of a mask during a riot punishable by up to five years in jail.
In a recent speech in the House of Commons, Richards said that current police powers in a riot or unlawful assembly are reactive, meaning police cannot stop someone for wearing a mask during a riot. Given the recent G20 riots in Toronto and Stanley Cup riot in Vancouver, Richards wants the law changed.
Victoria Police Department Chief Jamie Graham is supportive of the bill, calling the changes overdue.
Graham said the current statute on covering the face during criminal acts — called “disguise with intent” — was drafted to cover such things as bank robberies and holdups, and carries a higher burden of proof when it comes to proving the disguise was put on with intent to commit an offence.

Muslims get pushy when men wear a burka to prove a point.
The reasoning is quite something. Apparently, freedom and choice is only for Muslims wherever they are. When non-Muslim men wear a burka to prove a point they get pushed around. The older man stood his ground with great honour though. That is why they picked on him I suppose.
French ban on Islamic veil turns out to be toothless
I’m sure few are surprised and for a plethora of reasons; not the least of which, is that terrorism works.

Like many women in France, Fadela (not her real name) and a friend, Najet, wear the veil in Les Minguettes, Lyon, despite a law banning it.
Andrew Chung/Toronto Star
VÉNISSIEUX, FRANCE—It’s an unusually warm, spring morning in Venissieux, a downtrodden suburb of Lyon, and Fadela, 23, covered from head to toe in a black niqab, her black gloves adorned with elegant flower stitching, is walking with her friend Najet to the discount market called Ed.
A police car passes but does not stop. Fadela says that’s not unusual. “This is a sensitive neighbourhood,” she surmised. “It’d be a problem for the police.”
In fact, Fadela, who agreed to be interviewed on condition her real name not be used, said police have never told her to uncover her face.
Nearly one year after France implemented its controversial ban on wearing the Islamic veil— a niqab or burka — in public, a surprising fact has emerged. It appears that few women have actually removed their veils to obey the law.
As the presidential election in France approaches, and Islam and Muslim integration are top of mind, critics say the law was an exercise in pleasing the electorate, in “marketing,” while further stigmatizing Muslims.
It didn’t take a visitor to the Les Minguettes neighbourhood of Vénissieux long to observe the widespread non-compliance.
Upon emerging from the subway at Vénissieux station, a niqab-wearing woman walked in from the opposite direction, accompanied by a man. On the tram platform outside, two niqab-wearers waited, chatting. And in Les Minguettes, they were not the norm, but neither were they hard to find.
“Not much has changed, we still see the burka. There are not more, there are not less,” one high-level municipal government official in the area told the Star.
Vénissieux is the place where the idea for the law first originated, with André Gérin, then the Communist mayor and soon-to-be-retired National Assembly member.
Gérin disputed French government numbers that 2,000 women in the country wore niqabs. With so many in his community alone, he thought there were many more. He saw Islamic extremism at work and thought women’s rights were at risk.
Muslim juror who refused to take veil off is ordered to stand down by judge because he wouldn’t be able to see her facial expressions

The Muslim woman was wearing a black hijab with a narrow slit showing her eyes. Picture above posed by modelA Muslim woman was barred from serving on a jury yesterday because she refused to remove her veil.
In an extraordinary ruling, a judge said she could not sit on an attempted murder trial because her full face covering, known as the niqab, concealed her expressions.
The woman was about to take the oath in the case at Blackfriars Crown Court in London when the judge interrupted to ask if she was prepared to remove the garment which covered her whole face, apart from a narrow slit through which her eyes could be seen.
Judge Aidan Marron QC, said it was ‘desirable’ that her face was ‘exposed’ during the trial and asked her to remove the veil.
When she refused she was told to stand down and a white male member of the jury pool was sworn in in her place.
In the presence of the rest of the jury, Judge Marron said: ‘I wonder whether I can address the lady who is veiled.
‘Would you prefer not to remove your veil in this particular case?’
The woman, who was wearing western clothing including a fitted grey jacket, replied: ‘Yes.’
Judge Marron added: ‘I entirely understand that, but in this particular case it is desirable that your face is exposed, so I’m going to invite you to stand down. I hope you understand.’

The ruling, which is thought to be one of the first of its kind in Britain, has sparked outrage.
Yesterday Massoud Shadjareh, chairman of the Islamic Human Rights Commission, said: ‘This is totally unacceptable. I really can’t understand why facial expressions could have any impact on the judge, the judgment or anyone else in a trial. It has no relevance.
‘I’m speechless that you can exclude someone on the basis of the way that they dress.
‘It’s very worrying that a judge is being prejudiced against women wearing a veil.’

Saltburn is a small seaside town in the North East of England, the part of North Yorkshire that contains Middlesborough, and one of the depressed working class areas where Muslims have moved to in droves.
The only thing astonishing about this story, is that:
(a) The MSM are covering it: this is porbably due to that fact that the story was broken by a citizen journalist site.
(b) Politicians will claim it is an isolated incident.
(c) The powers that be will assure everyone that where we’re headed is a future in which things like this are less, rather than exponentially more, likely.

Portrait of Britain 2012: Armed police train guns on veiled woman fearing she has bomb in her bag
It is a chilling image that will go around the world – police taking aim at a woman in a hijab after a tip-off claiming she could have a bomb in her bag.
It is not known if the holdall contained an explosive or not but officers were not taking any chances.
The incident is on-going eight hours after it started at the seafront in Saltburn, Teesside, today. Army bomb disposal experts are believed to be on site.
Armed Police surround the woman in Saltburn, Teesside, and take aim. Her bag is behind her
Cleveland Police have not yet confirmed the exact nature of the incident but said it was sparked after ‘information’ they received about the woman’s conduct. They said the area has been cordoned off and they are concerned about the welfare of a woman.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a white woman wearing a dress with a veil sitting on a bench surrounded by armed police, who were alerted shortly after 11am. At 6.40pm, negotiations with her were still taking place.
Residents in Saltburn say they believe it is a woman local to the area.
