French police have uncovered bomb-making material during a probe into a group of Islamic extremists detained at the weekend for allegedly targeting Jews, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Describing the group as a serious threat, Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said the detention of the 12 suspects pending charges would be extended beyond the usual four-day maximum to at least a fifth day.

“We are clearly and objectively facing an extremely dangerous terrorist cell,” Molins said in a statement, adding that it was necessary to “avoid the risk of a terrorist attack in France”.

He said “components useful for bomb-making” had been found overnight during police searches of buildings in the eastern Paris suburb of Torcy, where two of the suspects were detained on Saturday.

Among the components found were bags of potassium nitrate, sulphur, saltpetre, pressure cookers and headlight bulbs, “all products or instruments useful in the making of what we call improvised explosives,” Molins said.

Nîmes: Muslims threaten market vendors who sell wine, pork and light clothing

written 26/9/12

From Dreuz:

An original Translation by Michael Laudahn:

Sharia rules in French market?

Yesterday , in the market of Chemin Bas d’Avignon in Nîmes, moslems threatened wine sellers, a butcher who sells pork and a pork butcher, as well as vendors who sell ‘light clothing’, and banned them from coming back on pain of death.

Already a few months ago, a pork butcher disappeared from one day to the next, even though he had a good clientèle. No one understood why, according to a resident of the district. In june, the market’s commercial arcade was totally burned, and the inhabitants of the district created a collective to complain about the rise in violence from young moslems, without anything effective having been done about it by the local government.

On Radio France Bleue’s open line, a female moslem inhabitant of this quarter declared this morning that ‘I am still semi-surprised, for this is on the rise in the community. One states that this sentiment of communitarism progresses, the moslems will lock themselves up inside.’ ‘These are moslems who claim an extreme interpretation of islam’, says Morad [a caller – like also the other names] to this station. Abdel adds ‘that they should return to their countries. This is racism. These are people seeking provocation’.

Then it is Jacqueline’s turn, of whose voice we hear that she is in despair for having had to endure for years powerlessly this situation, given the indifference of the public powers: ‘This is a minority, sure’, says she to the Radio Bleue journalist, who refuses to qualify this as racism, ‘but this is a minority who prevents people from living normally.

If the opposite thing had happened, blood would have flown. This is anti-white, anti-christian racism.’ ‘We see little girls, maybe 5 years old, and veiled, this hurts’, says Monique, living in this street. ‘They enforce halal meat, and they don’t want that we eat what we want to eat. The longer this goes on, the more people are veiled. It’s these people who put the french into a mess.’ ‘This certainly is a minority’, witnesses José, ‘but within several weeks, they can rot a situation.

We haven’t said anything on the halal commerce. They want to create a ghetto. This is racism [the journaliste staving off the acusuation rapidly]. The authorities must stop that, must stop this fundamentalist.’ The good co-existence has failed, the integration has failed, the chance for France has turned into malediction. The conquering islam advances, the laders of France and the do-gooders profit in a stealth manner.

France’s Hollande vows more security for Jewish people after increase in islamic violence

I would like to thank EDL Buck for several tips he sent me today including this one

From European Freedom Initiative:

French President François Hollande pledged on Sunday to increase security around synagogues and introduce tougher anti-terrorism measures, a day after a series of police raids dismantled a radical Islamist network that targeted Jews.

    French President Francois Hollande

Seeking to calm the fears of France’s Jewish community, the largest in Europe, Mr. Hollande invited seven leaders of Jewish groups to the presidential palace where he promised support to fight a rash of anti-Semitic attacks.

“I have reaffirmed that the state will not compromise in fighting racism and anti-Semitism. Nothing must be tolerated,” Hollande told reporters outside the presidential palace.

Tensions are high in the Jewish community over a series of attacks and threats. They have ranged from death threats against the chief rabbi of Lyon, to an attack with a hammer and iron bars on three young Jewish men.

On Saturday evening, blank bullets were fired from a car at a synagogue in the Paris suburb of Argenteuil while worshippers were inside.

In the worst such violence, three children and a rabbi were shot dead in March outside a Jewish school in Toulouse by a radical Islamist inspired by al Qaeda, who also killed three soldiers in a 10-day rampage.

PARIS (AP) — Police carried out raids across France on Saturday after DNA on a grenade that exploded last month at a kosher grocery store led them to a suspected jihadist cell of young Frenchmen recently converted to Islam.

The man whose DNA was identified, named by police as Jeremy Sydney, was killed by police after he opened fire on them, slightly wounding three officers in the eastern city of Strasbourg. Officials said he had been under surveillance since last spring — around the time a French Islamic went on a shooting rampage against a Jewish school and French soldiers, killing seven people.

Ten other suspects, aged between 19 and 25, were arrested across the country on Saturday. One man was carrying a loaded gun, and police found weapons, cash and a list of Paris-area Israeli associations during the raids.

French art project confuses Muslims.

To riot or not to riot. This is the question. Whether tis more effective to to make them suffer our slings and rocks of outrageous demands, or take arms against a sea of infidels at the risk they may actually oppose us.

(My most humble apologies to the Bard)

The future. Having an imam called for every public work of art to decide whether or not its riot worthy and offensive to Mustards.

The story in French is here

Ordinary French people go full vigilante, destroy Gypsy (Roma) camp.

There are many ways to chart the decline of a civilization. One Roman senator was reputed to have said that it could be measured by the degree to which a government funded itself by sin.

True or not, it certainly can be charted by how often or if at all, a people feel the need to enforce the law themselves when they live in a highly taxed and over governed and over policed area to begin with. This vigilante action was not irrational. It was to deal with chronic crime ranging from destroying an area with feces and trash to persistent theft. And clearly all normal routes yielded nothing when it should have only taken one phone call to have this dealt with in the first place, if that.

Now it will be interesting to see if the state acts against the indigenous French who dealt with crime themselves. One can be confident they would if this was in was Canada.

France set to ban the words ‘mother’ and ‘father’ from official documents

France is set to ban the words “mother” and “father” from all official documents under controversial plans to legalise gay marriage.

The move, which has outraged Catholics, means only the word “parents” would be used in identical marriage ceremonies for all heterosexual and same-sex couples.

The draft law states that “marriage is a union of two people, of different or the same gender”.

It says all references to “mothers and fathers” in the civil code – which enshrines French law – will be swapped for simply “parents”.

The law would also give equal adoption rights to homosexual and heterosexual couples.

Justice Minister Christiane Taubira told France’s Catholic newspaper La Croix: “Who is to say that a heterosexual couple will bring a child up better than a homosexual couple, that they will guarantee the best conditions for the child’s development?”

Véronique Genest admits being ‘islamophobe’, like ‘many frenchmen’

Original Translation by Michael Laudahn:

Lexpress. Fr

Interrogated on NRJ12 [tv] with regard to a message stigmatising islam posted on her Twitter account, the impersonator of Julie Lescault persists and confirms. ‘If being islamophobe means to be afraid, then I am islamophobe, just as many frenchmen.’ The lapse is signed by Véronique Genest, guest to Vous êtes en direct [roughly: You are live], Jean-Marc Morandini’s daily programme on NRJ 12.

[Image of tweets: Yannick Rivière: The ignorance of the geopolitical facts. You have not replied. Véronique Genest: Islam is dangerous for democracy and proves so every day…]

She got back to one of the tweets published on her personal account, @twiitnana, last 31 august. ‘Islam is dangerous for democracy and proves so every day’, she wrote then. This declaration provoked howls of protest on this micro-blogging site, and especially Mathieu Kassovitz  had climbed the pinnacle, denouncing the ‘zero level’ of the message.   To justify her ‘sortie’,

Véronique Genest is not close to a shortcut. She saw fit to compare, in front of the camera, her fear of islam to her son’s fear of the dark. ‘My son, for example, is afraid of the dark. So, fear can come from two things, either ignorance or experience, of things we see, of a danger we feel.’ Having ‘read the Koran’, the actress therefore thinks that her ‘phobia exists’ because of ‘all we see’, and which ’causes fear’. And clearing herself: ‘I do not detest because I say that I’m afraid!’ Her ‘explanations’ have not convinced the internautes, outraged by her amalgam between islam and the extremists. And Twitter has, again, been the stage of a general outcry. To such a degree that Véronique Genest had to apologise through her account. ‘In order to appease things, and if you prefer so, I reword from the start to everyone. Fundamentalism [instead of islam], of course.’ Maybe she could have said so from the start.

Firstpost World French man held over Mohammad cartoon revenge plan

First Post:

PARIS/MARSEILLE, France (Reuters) – Police detained a young man in southern France on Thursday on suspicion that he was planning a revenge attack on the staff of a satirical magazine which published cartoons mocking the Prophet Mohammad.

Anti-terrorism magistrates near the Mediterranean port city of Toulon questioned the 18-year-old after he threatened in a message on Facebook to cut the throats of anyone he could find at the offices of Charlie Hebdo, a judicial source said.

The magazine’s publication of cartoons ridiculing Mohammad added to the anger of Muslims already outraged over an anti-Islam film produced in the United States and posted on the Internet.

The suspect had no police record but he was already known to security services, the source said, without giving further details.

Open letter to the Government of France.

My dearest France.

Now that Charlie Hebdo, political satire magazine has decided to step up to the plate and defend the single most important freedom that any human being has ever had, the right, no actually the obligation to criticize irrational religious authority, you, the government of France has decided to close embassies and French institutions throughout the barbarian world.

I merely wanted to advise you of the following.

As it takes approximately four to six months for Muslims to organize a spontaneous demonstration of outrage so I suggest you do not spend the extra revenue for short term booking on aircraft but book well in advance. In fact, you could focus on mid December getting the remnants of your Western cultured staff (if there are any) home for Christmas.

There is a very good chance that the riots over this crop of cartoons won’t form till after that and possibly not even till early spring.

Alternatively you could of course, defend the right that gave rise to one of the most significant civilizations in history and its now defunct secular laws, ‘La laicite‘, or, you could pack up and head for home. In either case, do take your time. No point in rushing and dropping any dish-ware or furniture.

Just a thought. I hope it helps.
