Iran behind coordinated suicide blasts in western Afghanistan

A number of Afghan parliament members accused Iran for being involved behind deadly coordinated suicide blasts in western Nimroz province.

Afghan lawmakers said a number of suicide bombers who were detained are Iranian citizens.

The lawmakers on Wednesday urged the Afghan government to negotiate the coordinated suicide blasts with the Iranian embassy in Kabul.

Freshta Amini and Aryan Young Afghan lawmakers said, “Based on our information the suicide bombers are Baloch citizens who came from Iran.”

They said, “Iran is behind the coordinated blasts in Nimroz province since they are looking to prevent the implementation of development projects in this province.”

At least 35 people were killed following three coordinated suicide blasts and dozens of others were injured.

Taliban infiltrator kills 11 Afghan police

Eleven Afghan policemen were killed Saturday when one of their colleagues, believed to be a Taliban infiltrator, opened fire on them, officials said.

The incident in Delaram district of western Nimroz province was the latest in a series of shootings in which members of the Afghan security forces have targeted local and foreign colleagues.

“Unfortunately 11 of our brave national police were killed in this cowardly attack,” Nimroz governor Abdul Karim Brahawi told AFP.

“Initial investigation shows the shooter was a Taliban infiltrator. He was also killed when police returned fire,” Brahawi said.

Provincial deputy police chief Abdul Majid Latifi confirmed that 11 police had been killed by “a man inpolice uniform”, adding that an investigation into the attack was under way.

The shooting came a day after six international soldiers were killed by Afghans they were working with.

A suspected Afghan police officer has shot dead a group of US special forces during a Ramadan breakfast. Recurring incidents of surprise attacks by Afghan police are undermining trust with their international mentors.

At least three US special forces soldiers have been shot dead by an Afghan wearing a police uniform, although it remained unclear whether the perpetrator was actually a member of the security forces or a Taliban infiltrator.

“All we know is that they were killed by an Afghan in a uniform of some sort,” a NATO spokeswoman told Reuters news agency.

The special forces soldiers were attacked while attending a meeting late Thursday in the Sangin district of the volatile Helmand province in Afghanistan’s south. Sangin district chief Mohammad Sharif told the AFP news agency that four US soldiers had been invited to a Ramadan breakfast by an Afghan policeman.

It seems that the ISI, the over arching group that controls all of Pakistan’s intel services, and the group that is openly accused of planning, training, financing and controlling the massive horrible attack on Bombay a few years ago, is planning a massive meeting with the Taliban to overthrow the current government of Afghanistan claiming it is a puppet of the West.

According to news from reliable sources sent to “Arman Melli”, Pakistan’s Intelligence services (ISI) intends on having another convention with 1500 Pakistani
Mullahs and Afghan Taliban members in Quetta.

Abdullah Zakir, a high official member of The Taliban is the head organiser of this meeting who works closely with the Taliban’s leader, Molla Mohamad Omar.

According to this report, ISI is asking the participants of this convention to issue A “Fatwa” against the Islamic government of Afghanistan that the government of Afghanistan is a non-Islamic government Western puppet to which, jihad against it is mandatory

On May 11, First Lt Alejo Thompson, a father of two young children, was killed in an ambush in eastern Afghanistan that wounded two of his comrades. The Taliban says an Afghan Army soldier named Mamood turned on his American trainers and opened fire.

Now the Taliban has released a sickening video that it claims to show Mamood being welcomed back to the insurgent encampment as a hero.

Elders embrace him and adorn him with necklaces strung with flowers. They congratulate him on his deed as he smiles for the camera.

An Afghan man shot his two teenage daughters dead when they returned home four days after running away with a young man, police said today.

The father has been detained on murder charges in Nad Ali district in the southern province of Helmand, a hotbed of Taliban insurgency, provincial police spokesman Farid Ahmad Farhang said.

‘He killed two of his daughters. His daughters had run away with a young man four days ago. When they returned home their father killed them,’ Mr Farhang said.

Relations between men and women outside marriage are strictly controlled under Islam and infringements are harshly punished by most families in ultra-conservative Afghanistan.

Despite progress since the fall of the Taliban, so-called ‘honour killing’ remains a common practice in the war-torn Islamic nation.

CNN distorts, conceals, fabricates news to white wash Islam clean of wrongdoing.

In this CNN video of the well reported murder of a woman in Afghanistan, CNN does everything it can to scrub Islam as a motive and justification for this action out of it, to the extent that it is not just, not news. It is in fact misleading propaganda.

The fact that they use a fellow named Mohamed to talk about it I can live with. I don’t care who tells the truth about a thing I care that the truth is told. But not only did he not tell the truth about this event, but my feeling is they deliberately used someone named Mohamed to condemn this action to further create the impression that Islam is not a factor but actually something which condemns this kind of action.

When Mohamed says at 1:04 “they actually appeared to be cheering”  he fails to mention that the ‘cheer’ was,

“Allah Hu Ackbar” and “long live the Afghan Mujahadeen” which of course means Muslim holy warrior.

Not including this information utterly transforms the nature of this event in the mind of the viewer. It makes it look just like a warped act by a few Afghans.

I can’t find raw video of the whole thing. But at least in the one below, you get a clearer impression of what took place.

I also have spoken to enough Afghan veterans that I even doubt these were ‘Taliban’ as much as they could have been any group of devout Muslims who did this for whatever reason they wanted to do it.
There have been many incidents of killing of people in Afghanistan that the Western media has reported as Taliban when in fact it was tribal, and sometimes for reasons we would even consider as rational and other times not.

The first casualty of war is truth. This much I accept. But if we lie to ourselves about the motives of the enemy, then it isn’t a war. It is a mass surrender.

  • British soldiers in Afghanistan claim that new tactics are preventing them shooting at the Taliban until they have been fired at themselves – resulting in an alarming rise in the number of casualties.

The troops say they have had to change their procedures as part of American-led efforts to cut down on the number of civilians being wounded, but the new approach has made them more vulnerable.

In the past three months, 11 British soldiers have been killed by enemy gunfire in Helmand province, compared with just two in the same period last year.

The Ministry of Defence denied there has been any change in the rules of engagement for British troops. However, a spokesman for the multinational forces headed by US General John Allen confirmed there had been a tactical review after which the British were told to alter their procedures.

Soldiers now say they are particularly vulnerable when they are manning checkpoints at road junctions or patrolling Taliban heartlands such as the so-called ‘green zone’, a densely vegetated river valley.

In the past, they say, they could shoot first at armed insurgents but are now only allowed to return fire.

(CBS/AP) KABUL, Afghanistan – Multiple explosions have rocked the eastern part of the Afghan capital early Tuesday, fresh on the heels of President Obama’s visitthere.

CBS News’ Ahmad Mukhtar reports it was an attack on a compound where foreigners stay. As many as 6 people have been reported killed, including a student and a guard.

The police chief said one of the blasts is believed to have come for foreigners fighting off the attackers with hand grenades. The other was apparently a suicide car bomb attack.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a phone interview with CBS News his organization planned and carried out the attacks. Mujahid claimed the attack was a response to Obama’s visit to Afghanistan, to show they were capable of striking anywhere, anytime.

Man in Afghan Army Uniform Kills NATO Soldier

NATO said Thursday that a man wearing an Afghan National Army uniform killed a coalition service member.

The incident late Wednesday in southern Afghanistan was the latest in a series of attacks on international troops by their Afghan counterparts.

NATO did not give any other details but said the man who opened fire was killed when coalition forces returned fire. A joint Afghan and coalition team is investigating the incident.

Poison scare highlights threats to girls’ education in Afghanistan

More than 100 schoolgirls have been rushed to hospitals in northeastern Afghanistan after drinking what is feared to be poisonous water from a tank at their school.

More than 100 schoolgirls in Afghanistan have fallen sick after drinking water that is suspected to have been poisoned in the small town of Rustaq in the northeastern Afghan province of Takhar.

In what appears to be an attempt by opponents of education for girls, the poison scare incident highlights threats to girls’ education in Afghanistan.

“I think some radical elements who oppose girls going to school are behind this act,” said district governor Mohammad Hussain, adding that police were investigating the incident.
