Corporal Channing Day, 25, and Corporal David O’Connor, 27, are believed to have been shot dead by an Afghan policeman after a mistaken exchange of fire.
A third UK serviceman was wounded in the gunfight on Wednesday.

Obama’s Afghanistan Surge was coupled with tightened Rules of Engagement aimed at winning the hearts and minds of the locals. The ROE’s restricted how soldiers could fight the Taliban and cost plenty of lives, but it appears that ISAF’s Hearts and Minds project has hit a new low.
When reading this keep in mind that half of deaths in Afghanistan under Obama were caused by IEDs.
Soldiers were ordered not to open fire on Taliban fighters planting mines in case they disturb local people, it has been claimed.

(AGI) – Miranshah, Oct. 9 – The Taliban has claimed responsibility for shooting and wounding 14-year-old Malala Yusyufzai, who is campaigning to bring peace back to Pakistan’s Swat Valley and the right to be educated. Taliban spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan said in a phone call that his organization was responsible, adding that anyone who speaks against the Taliban will be attacked in the same way. Yusyufzai came to the attention of the world in 2009 when she told the BBC Urdu service of Taliban atrocities. She was on a bus that was taking her to school in the town of Mingora, when an armed man stopped and entered the bus asking which one was Malala. Once he had identified her, he shot her three times with a pistol. The first shot hit her in the face, the second hit a friend and the third hit another friend in the leg. Malala was flown by an Interior Ministry helicopter to a hospital in Peshawar, where doctors say the young girl is in stable conditions and out of danger. . .
CBS Reporter Lara Logan Rails Against ‘Major Lie’ of Last Two Years in Candid Speech: Islamists Are Still Strong as Ever

Blaze readers are likely familiar with CBS correspondent, Lara Logan, the wartime journalist who endured a horrific ordeal in Egypt last summer when she was beaten and sexually assaulted by a mob of angry Egyptian men during their Arab Spring “celebrations.” Now, Logan has a message for the public: “they” (the Taliban and other Islamic operatives) are as strong as ever.
During a recent keynote address at the Better Government Association annual luncheon last Tuesday, Logan delivered what the Chicago Sun Times called “a provocative speech” to some 1,100 movers in government, politics, media, and the legal and corporate arenas. She explained that the Taliban, al Qaeda and its proxies haven’t gone away and are in fact re-energized and coming back in force. Logan also informed the crowd that a “lie” is being propagated by the American government.
“I chose this subject because, one, I can’t stand, that there is a major lie being propagated…” Logan announced. The lie is that the U.S. military has tamed the Taliban.

Excellent advice. It is a testament to how far down the slope of totalitarianism we have already come that to obey this excellent and obvious advice as a non-criminal, productive member of a ‘free’ society we could face a decade or more in jail (at least in Canada) for being prepared to defend ourselves.

British troops are carrying loaded weapons at all times inside Camp Bastion to protect themselves against insider attacks by rogue Afghan soldiers and policemen.
Servicemen and women moving around Britain’s main base in Afghanistan have been told to carry their personal firearm following a spate of ‘green on blue’ murders, in which allied troops are killed by the local forces they are training.
US General John Allen, the top soldier in the warzone, is understood to have issued a fresh directive to coalition forces at all bases in the country in mid-August.

Precautions were originally bolstered in the spring after US defence secretary Leon Panetta was the target of a suicide attack at Camp Bastion by an Afghan worker driving a stolen vehicle.
This year, rogue security forces have killed more than 51 coalition troops – including nine British servicemen.
A serving British soldier told the Mail: ‘Whether we’re going to the canteen or out for a run, we have to have a loaded weapon with us so we are able to react in an instant.
Some see it as an inconvenience but safety and security is paramount.’

Camp Bastion, in Helmand province, is home to most of the 9,500 UK troops in Afghanistan and thousands of local employees and contractors.
Afghan forces are not allowed inside with a weapon.
Details about the latest directive emerged as the head of Nato admitted that insider attacks were sapping morale and had damaged relations between international forces and the Afghan police and military.
Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Nato’s secretary-general, said: ‘There is no doubt that insider attacks have undermined trust and confidence, absolutely.

Taliban claims British-born assailants ready to slay Prince Harry

A Taliban spokesman has claimed that thousands of British-born Muslim attackers are prepared to give their lives for prophet Mohammed and slay Prince Harry.
Qari Yousef Ahmadi, a spokesman for Taliban, has said hundreds of young men are leaving their loved ones in the UK to train with the Taliban in Afghanistan.
“We have thousands of attackers ready to give up their lives for the prophet Mohammed and kill the prince. That is our intention. They come from all over the world – from England, Pakistan,” the Daily Star quoted Ahmadi, as saying.
“They will lay down their lives so that the world will know our anger. The British and American invaders are not welcome in this land and must leave,” he added.
Fears for Harry’s safety escalated after 19 attackers armed with rocket-propelled grenades, mortars and automatic weapons breached the perimeter of Camp Bastion earlier this month.

Paul Sperry rakes the Pentagon response to jihad inside the wire — more “sensitivity” training — in the New York Post this week (must have been Prince Talal’s day off).
Top officials believe culturally offensive behavior is the motivation behind the killings, so it’s stepped up Islamic sensitivity training for our troops.
“Top officials” should be relieved of duty, ASAP. They have lost their minds if they ever had any. Or, to be more accurate, they have adopted, internalized the Islamic mindset to a point beyond apology and beyond reason. Reality check: Normal, mainstream Afghan culture includes child rape, pederasty, “seven-day shit suits,” cruelty to animals, enslavement of women, and death to apostates, just to hit some highlights. Such institutional depravity, however, is the New Normal to the ideological zealots in charge. They don’t see it, and can’t imagine the effect of it on Western troops, even when their own internal reports flag such native practices as dog torture as “stressors” that lead to “serious social altercations” between US and Afghan soldiers. These and other resounding features of culture clash are officially hushed up lest the irreconcilable differences between Islam and the West become openly acknowledged, and the bankruptcy of the past decade of nation-building in Iraq and Afghanistan becomes the open national scandal that it should and must become.
Thus, our generals burble on about nose-blowing and shoe bottoms, announcing that deviations from the Islamic way of nose-blowing and handling shoe bottoms (“cultural affronts”) are motivations for murder. (This is the same Islamic mind-set that informs the White House and media position that the Mohammed video is “causing” the Islamic attacks on US embassies.)
Sperry’s op-ed continues:
If you don’t want to be shot in the back by your Afghan training partners, the Pentagon advises, don’t offend their religious sensibilities. Don’t kick your feet up on a table, for instance, and never ask to see a picture of their wives and kids. “There’s a percentage [of attacks] which are cultural affronts,” Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey said in a recent interview.
“Cultural affronts,” general? Read about the hostility Marine LCPL Greg Buckley Jr. encountered in an Afghan trainee before Buckley’s murder by an Afghan policeman last month. Greg told his father he didn’t think he would make it home alive — from the war zone of his own base. He told his superior officers that “one day they are going turn around and turn those weapons on us.” His superiors forced him to apologize. Two other Marines were killed in the same attack that took Buckley’s life.
Dempsey has no answer to this jihad because he has been trained, meticulously conditioned, not to see a jihad. As a result, he presses more “Islamic traditions and values” (child rape? pederasty? baksheesh?) on our troops. More Islam, more deference to Islam, becomes the only “solution” he and his brother brass and civilian leaders can think of. They are all hostages to jihad and prisoners of Islam.

“What ‘immoral’ acts did these children commit?”
A 12-yr-old boy and a 6-yr-old girl were recently discovered beheaded in Taliban controlled areas of Afghanistan.
As reported by Reuters, Jawid Faisal, the spokesman for the provincial governor of Kandahar, stated that the severed head placed next to the body of an unnamed boy served as a Taliban warning to the local populace.
NATO suspends training of new Afghan recruits

NATO has suspended the training of new recruits for the Afghan security forces until a vetting process has been completed. The decision comes after a string of attacks by Afghan security forces on coalition troops.
The temporary training freeze will affect some 1,000 new police recruits, while the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) investigates Afghan troops for links to the Taliban-led insurgency.
According to the US daily The Washington Post, some 27,000 current members of the Afghan security forces are being re-vetted for links to the insurgency.

Andrew Bostom gleans the buried truth deep in an unclassified May 2011 internal Pentagon “Red Team” report on murder “inside the wire”: It turns out that these Pentagon analysts actually lifted the official blinders a crack to note clash of civilizations as a driver behind the constant violent assaults by Afghan security forces on US and other Western forces, and even suggested US troops be instructed in an “objective and comprehensive assessment of the totalitarian nature of the extreme theology practiced among the Afghans.” Of course, that was only suggestion #40 out of 58, so, so much for the Red Team’s powers of priority-analysis.
Clearly, the team’s suggestion wasn’t taken as a February 2012 pocket reference guide (pictured above), “Inside the Wire Threats — Afghanistan Green on Blue,” demonstrates. The complete handbook on which this so-called smartcard is based inexplicably remains classified, but the gist is clear. 1) US troops are to walk on eggs and refrain from saying or doing anything that might set off their armed, “hair-trigger moderate,” Afghan counterparts: “Avoid public rebukes,” troops are told. “Counsel in private jointly with ANSF chain of command” (directions, surely, any self-respecting drill sergeant would roar at). 2) Worse, US troops are ordered to assume the age-old role of the dhimmis, those wretched, self-censoring non-Muslims repressed and stunted by Islamic law: “Respect Islam, Koran or a mosque; Afghan women, elders and children. Avoid arrogance; i.e., belief that ISAF culture is superior to Afghan culture.”

Army Report Buried Islamic Motivations For Afghan Murders of US Troops

On May 12, 2011 a US Army “Red Team” issued an unclassified report which purported to explain the burgeoning rash of murderous attacks (which have since escalated even further, still) by Afghan National Army (ANA) members on US and other NATO troops.
Although the report is dominated by apologetic, cultural relativist drivel which attempts, in vain, to explain away these acts of murder committed against the US and NATO troops by their by ANA “allies,” it also includes a crudely buried, sub rosa truthful narrative.
This latter discussion is all that matters, and bears full, clear exposure — particularly in light of the morally dubious excuse for the most recent spate of such killings of US troops. Specifically, General Allen in a pronouncement for which he should be forced to resign, maintained that Ramadan fasting, combined with operational tempo during the summer heat, were the drivers of these most recent killings of his own troops by Muslim ANA soldiers.
