Muslims refuse to participate in memorial services in UK

A hate preacher sparked outrage last night by urging British Muslims not to wear poppies.

Anjem Choudary said any Muslim who wore the symbol of respect was betraying his religion and backing “British nationalism”.

Choudary, a right-hand man of exiled cleric Omar Bakri Mohammed, 47, was responding to news that poppy sales were down in areas of the country with a high population of Muslims.

The vast majority of Brits wear poppies to remember victims of all wars fought by British citizens, including Muslims.

But Choudary, 41, said: “This is not something we should be supporting. We are not sanctioned to support poppies by the Sharia law.

The Third Jihad. Just when you think you know how bad it is….

…You find out it’s worse. This film, made by the makers of Obsession, radical Islam’s war with the west is a stunning set of revelations even to those of us already active in the anti jihad.

The Third Jihad is narrated by an American Muslim, Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser who was stunned to find that the Islamic community within the US not only failed to protest the actions of Bin Laden and Al Queda but had developed an advanced network of homegrown Jihadis within the USA funded and trained to create a Sharia state in America by all and any means possible. This movie is well documented and many of you who read this blog will remember many of the issues and events this film raises. But its for the things you may not know that make this a compulsory view. If you wish to buy it you can click the link below to Amazon and help support Vladtepesblog at the same time but one way or another everyone needs to see this film.

This movie of course deals with terrorism but more importantly it deals with the ‘soft jihad’ where the institutions of state and commerce are subverted to appease Islamic sensibilities in a slippery slope to Sharia law. The thirty minute version of this movie can be seen here and here. But see the whole film and if you can, buy it. The makers of this movie deserve to be paid for it. Let’s hope they use the income to make more movies like this one and its a great bet they will.

Canadian Kohail sentenced to beheading in Saudi Arabia. Should Canada intervene?

Twenty three year old Canadian Mohamed Kohail has been found guilty of murder while in Saudi Arabia and faces execution by beheading. His death is imminent and he will likely die for his crime within the coming weeks.

Kohail grew up in Saudi Arabia but moved to Montreal when he was a teenager. He, along with his family moved back to Saudi Arabia temporarily to attend a wedding intending to return to Canada where they own a home. While there, he (Kohail) became involved in a brawl after his brother Sultan, 16, called for his help at a local school where a group of youths armed with knives and clubs accused him of insulting a girl. Mohamed involved himself in the fight intending to defend his brother and after the bloody episode had ended, Syrian Haraki died.

The Kohail brothers were immediately arrested and taken to a prison in Jeddah. Friends and family allege that Kohail was the victim of an unfair investigation and trial. One family friend claims the court ignored important evidence that would have cleared Kohail of the charge against him. Other sources assert that the young man’s lawyers were repeadedly denied access to the courtroom.

Canadian politicians, human rights groups and government agencies are pressing hard to save Mohamed kohail’s life. Amnesty International has since sent a letter addressed to the Saudi ambassador to Canada urging him to intervene in the case, citing very serious concerns regarding the legal process to which the defendant was subjected. The Saudi embassy in Ottawa has not, as of yet, commented.

What is pointedly missing in this case is the lack of concern by Canadian Muslim organizations regarding the alleged mistreatment of Mr. Kohail at Saudi hands and his impeding execution. Certainly one would think that high profile Islamic groups such as CAIR-CAN, the Canadian Arab Federation and the Canadian Islamic Congress, all proponents of fair justice and the improvement in the quality of life for Muslim Canadians here and abroad, would have weighed in on this situation.

Yet none of their sites even mention the Kohail case.

Where are the denouncements and calls for ‘action’ on behalf of a fellow Muslim Canadian? Where are the letters of concern, the protests outside the Saudi embassy and the plethora of media communiques sent to major newspapers? Where are the calls aimed at Saudi officials requesting an investigation into the matter and calling for clemency? Where are the requests asking that Mr. Kohail be returned to Canada? Where are the numerous essays, columns and articles criticizing the Saudi government? Why is there no pressure put upon the Harper government to intervene in this case and repatriate Mr. Kohail by these organizations? And, where is the support for his family in this ordeal?

I have read nothing…….nothing.

Perhaps the answer lies in the fact that these groups are simply not concerned with the welfare of a Muslim Canadian such as Mohamed Kohail at all, preferring to concentrate their rabid obsession with asking the Canadian government to repatriate terrorists such as Omar Khadr. Or likely, time spent deeming themselves official intervenors calling for follow-up action on the recent Iacobucci report demanding that Canada apologize and compensate Abdullah Almalki, Ahmed Abon-Elmatti and Muyayyed Nureddin for alleged torture they suffered in Egypt and Syria.

Or maybe they are too busy to help Kohail, finding themselves consumed by their tremendous effort to monitor the alarming rise of Islampohobia in Canada accompanied by vigorous attempts to rid Canadian society of legitimate criticism of Islam via censorship through human rights commission complaints and prosecuting and ridiculing journalists and a Canadian free press. Or maybe they are too bogged down by hours spent constantly involved in heavy lobbying to defend and secure the implementation of sharia law in Canada?

I believe the neglect of Mohammed Kohail’s case indicates the simplicity of a brotherhood bond with Saudi whabbist principle, a twisted ideology that finds moral acceptability amongst the Islamists in Canada. What is there to rail against when one agrees?

Thirteen year old rape victim Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow was stoned to death for adultery on October 27 by a group of fifty men in a stadium in Kismayu, Somalia while 1,000 spectators looked on. Again, nothing denouncing this human tragedy appeared on any of these ‘moderate,’ peace-pushing, justice-for-all sites.

Why the silence?

Is this a tacit agreement in ideology?

Are these the kinds of legitimate questions that are more often than not considered blasphemous and Islampohobic to an extremist Muslim mindset where the priority of offense is to religious sensibility and replaces the collective moral outrage of the murder of a 13 year old rape victim?

I must be misinformed by a lying and ignorant world media reporting these horrors, as I am told repeatedly that Islam treats women, Muslims and all people with equality and dignity. The real bastards of such women’s oppression apparently are Western nations, as I’ve learned from reading an insightful essay entitled the liberation of women on the Canadian Islamic Congress website written by Mr. Canadian Peace and Justice himself Dr. Elmasry.

I do believe that Canada should intervene on behalf of Mohamed Kohail. I also believe that Canadians need to work far harder to show strong objection to the moral depravity of a Saudi social, cultural and legal system and to shame others like it, that continue to perpetuate such brutality, bigotry and backwardness. I also believe that countries which deploy the systematic and regular murder of rape victims accused of the crime of adultery should be criticized internationally as rogue establishments, unworthy of respect. Any group which supports, justifies, condones or excuses such extremism either openly or by silent applause should be condemned and ridiculed.

While Canadian Kohail awaits his execution and Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow lays dead, Islamism in it’s most perverse and hypocritical state continues in Canada.

A brilliant article on the mechanics of the UN rules against Islamaphobia

PLEASE take the 5 minutes required and read this rather excellent analysis and history of how it came to pass that the UN was used by the OIC to obliterate free speech and the means to criticize the abominable. It cannot be over emphasized how important this article is and the implications and consequences to how civilization’s future history will unfold. As it states at the end (plot spoiler) ideas must not be deemed exempt from criticism.

Jihad Against Free Speech

By Deborah Weiss
FrontPageMagazine.com | Thursday, November 06, 2008

The Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) is an Islamist supremacist organization. Composed of 57 member states with Muslim majority populations, the OIC is the largest Islamic body in the world. It is also the largest international organization of any kind, second only to the United Nations. It represents an estimated 1.5 billion Muslims across the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

The purpose of the OIC is to promote Islamic values, to revitalize Islam’s pioneering role in the world, to strengthen and enhance the bond of solidarity and unity among Muslim states, to support “the Palestinian struggle” and to defend Islam. Its charter claims that OIC works to promote peace, tolerance, and fight terrorism. However, its actions are dissonant with these claims, as it strives to define these words through the extraordinarily skewed views of radical Islam.

Since 1999, the OIC has been pushing incrementally and strategically toward its goal of internationally outlawing all criticism of Islam, Muslims, Muslim theocracies, and Islamic extremism. Subsequent to September 11, 2001, it professed concern about alleged backlash against Muslims.

In 2005, the OIC urged the United Nations Commission on Human Rights (“UNCHR”) to pass a resolution called “combating defamation of religions.” Although the title of the resolution referred to religions generally, the text cited concerns only Islam specifically. It lamented negativity towards Islam in the media and the use of broadcast, print and the internet to incite violence, discrimination or intolerance towards Islam and other religions. It revealed alarm over the backlash against Muslims since 9/11, and law enforcement measures that “target Muslims.” It expressed deep concern over statements which “attack” religions generally, and Islam and Muslims in particular, and concern over the ethnic and religious profiling of Muslim minorities. It alleged that Islam was frequently and wrongly associated with human rights violations and terrorism. Additionally, it proclaimed that defamation of religions plays a role in the denial of fundamental rights of the target groups.

Child Brides, Afghanistan, the CIC and Mohamed El Masry

In this heartbreaking slide show from World Vision, you get a clear idea about how bad conditions are for women in Afghanistan and thats today under the new ‘liberal’ non Taliban government. I feel even the intensely felt comments of the women who put these slides together show that the commentator still doesn’t get it. She makes the usual claim of ‘root causes’ of poverty and so on that causes women or more accurately, little girls even Maurice Chevalier would be ashamed to look at, to be sold into marriage.

I suppose thats understandable in that World Vision is seeking money to spread to solve these problems as they understand them. But the problem is Islam. If these girls where sent to a decent agriculture school and taught how to use genetically modified strains of food suited for these conditions poverty would be greatly reduced as they have everywhere these products are used. Islam holds no value for women as persons but great value as chattel. So no amount of money will improve the rights of women in Afghanistan or else we would see Saudi Women as having the best rights on Earth. Or at least having the right to drive a car. Or not be killed for being raped which is clearly a result of a property crime as opposed to a human one.

Here is a link to an interview with

sally_armstrong_nov06
with a woman who is speaking on the condition of women’s rights in Afghanistan today. This woman makes the case for Petreaus. Send more troops. However you cant change the entire culture of a people and a nation no matter how much force you use unless at the very least, you actually try to. There is no way to improve the conditions for women and people in general in Afghanistan if you leave people thinking the way they always have and the way that caused these issues in the first place.

Then we have Mohamed El Masry, spokesmouth for the Canadian Islamic Confrence. It should come as no surprise that the CIC’s position is women have the same or better rights in Islamic nations than they do in the western world.

Here are a few choice moments from the above linked article:

“You’d think that the media in our so-called “liberal” society would pay more attention to concrete issues that genuinely compromise and demean the quality of life of Western women, who are statistically at greatest risk from the effects of poverty, pornography, domestic abuse, marginalization, or lack of educational opportunities in career-building fields (like maths and sciences).”

Of course it doesn’t take a minute to discover that in Islamic nations schools that teach women more than Koran are often burned to the ground. Should those women inside not be wearing a Hijab at the time, they may not be allowed to leave.

Not to mention that the whole paragraph is utter nonsense. Women in he western world have over fifty percent of the total wealth and much or most of that is from wealth ‘redistribution’ from divorces. While this itself is not a good thing and needs careful scrutiny as a process, it certainly makes minced pork out of ElMasri.

I am tempted to refute the CIC post point for point but playing ‘whack a mole’ is exhausting. Anyone who may feel tempted to believe any of the patent nonsense and abuse of logic in it may wish to investigate his claims and attempts to make the liberal democracies appear to be the problem. If they where, why are all the Muslims coming to western nations with a conspicuous absence of women from the west applying for Visa’s to live (certainly not work, thats not allowed in many Muslim nations) in Kandahar; Tehran; Islamabad or Riyadh.

Lastly i invite you to read a particularly excellent essay by Phyllis Chesler who did in fact move to Afghanistan. Well she thought she was visiting but it turned out she was moving as once she got there the first thing the Afghans did was take away her passport.

I think we would do well to ask ourselves exactly what is it we are doing in Afghanistan. Are we so so committed to our path of cultural egalitarianism we are willing to lose this war? Because thats the choice. Either be prepared to fight Islam the way we fought Nazism and Communism and other repugnant inhuman ideologies or be prepared to lose.

On December 21, 1961, when I returned from Afghanistan, I kissed the ground at New York City’s Idlewild Airport. I weighed 90 pounds and had hepatitis. Although I would soon become active in the American civil rights, anti-Vietnam war, and feminist movements, what I had learned in Kabul rendered me immune to the Third World romanticism that infected so many American radicals. As a young bride in Afghanistan, I was an eyewitness to just how badly women are treated in the Muslim world. I was mistreated, too, but I survived. My “Western” feminism was forged in that most beautiful and treacherous of countries.

In 1962, when I returned to Bard College, I tried to tell my classmates how important it was that America had so many free libraries, so many movie theatres, bookstores, universities, unveiled women, freedom of movement on the streets, freedom to leave our families of origin if we so chose, freedom from arranged marriages—and from polygamy, too. This meant that as imperfect as America may be, it was still the land of opportunity and of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

My friends, future journalists, artists, physicians, lawyers, and intellectuals, wanted only to hear fancy Hollywood fairy tales, not reality. They wanted to know how many servants I had and whether I ever met the king. I had no way of communicating the horror, and the truth. My American friends could not or did not want to understand. As with my young college friends so long ago, today’s leftists and progressives want to remain ignorant.

Wait, What’s a felony? Flushing Koran carries a year in jail?

I found this gem on Free Canuckistan. I’d like to know more of the legal details. If this is true I suggest we all get a Koran rip it up and flush it and demand to be arrested for it. This kind of a law must not be allowed to stand without exposure for what it is. Dhimitude.

Once again we are reminded of how much more important freedom from religion is, than freedom of religion.

This from hyscience.com

(This must be followed closely. This is no ordinary utter outrage which we have become numb to as the western world abandons its cherished freedoms and liberal values. This is the kind of next level outrage we see maybe only twice a week. That to mistreat a book carries a potential sentence of a year in jail in the USA is mind scramming. Scramming as in a reactor melt down. The fact that the book is also a hate filled tome of genocidal mania and a demand for control of the earth based on the megalomania and sexual appetities of a seventh century warlord is actually not the issue but adds a certain insult to injury. Its that the mere idea that mistreatement of some paper cardboard and ink can lead to the ruination of ones life. Eeyore for Vlad)

Intellectual slight of hand, political correctness and the hijacking of once meaningful terms.

I link to this article as just today’s example of the issues I have discussed with ‘Akhter’, the commenter on the Indian bombings post which I invite you all to read. I mentioned that there is a vast difference between having ones choices respected and forcing those choices on others and expecting that people will see them as the same thing. Political correctness is actually to blame for encouraging and propagating this intellectual slight of hand.

A Canadian example of this from several years ago and perhaps the precedent setting example for Canada was the ludicrous notion that people of the Sikh faith had a ‘right’ to wear their turbans and be members of the Royal Canadian mounted police. I said at the time this was obscene and a slippery slope and it clearly and most certainly was.

The idea that a person has a right to whatever beliefs and behaviors he wants and can then change institutions of state is preposterous. A democracy will tolerate peoples beliefs and allow them to practice them so long as they do not violate secular laws but is under no obligation to adjust it’s symbols and institutions to accommodate them. The point of a democracy is that you get the CHOICE of either giving up your beliefs and superstitions and be part of the secular culture or you may continue to pursue them and be free of persecution by the state.

This is a fantastic situation historically speaking. Religious Jews for instance where thrilled that they could if they chose, continue to dress in traditional manners and set schedules which was not in sync with the rest of Western nations and yet be free of state harassment. However at no time did Jews demand that uniforms be changed to accommodate them or that kitchens in secular organizations not serve non kosher products. The jews and rightly so where pleased to have the choice to either participate or not in institutions which may conflict with their rituals and beliefs. They did not however demand the ‘right’ to be hired for a position merely because they where Jewish and then demand that the organization that hired them transform itself into a yeshiva. This speaks to the core of the term ‘sacrifice’. That one may inconvenience oneself in order to maintain practices which are not the general ones of the land. We all do this to one degree or another. It builds character and is generally a net positive thing. We may for example not drink as much alcohol as our friends or as the law allows or may not drink at all but we do not force institutions private or public not to serve alcohol as it may offend us to have it in our presence and doubly so in a place we chose to be.

The notion that our own sacrifices become an obligation to others is the card trick of the politically correct. That tolerance, once meaning put up with things we don’t like in others so that they may put up with us, now becomes that we must dumb down to the least tolerant group within us. The UK seems to have news about this each and every day recently as I linked at the top. A Muslim who applied for and received a job as a Chef is suing his employer for insufficient guarantees that he will not have to handle pork. It’s not that he wishes not to touch it, gloves where offered, its that he insists it not be an option on the menu in an organization where pork is a staple of the traditional menu there.

In effect this is the imposition of Sharia law. The mistaken notion that to violate any sensitivity or irrational belief of Muslims is itself a crime is indistinguishable from Sharia itself. In my previous post “What if they gave a war and only one side came” I give several examples of how this has occurred in the UK and elsewhere as well as how large multinational corporations have caved in to mere whims by individual Muslims who took umbrage on some minor and historically unsubstantiated symbolic issue.

To return briefly to the issue of the RCMP and the replacement of the traditional police cap with a sikh turban for a moment, I need to make it more clear why this is an issue.

Around the world ideological groups are at war for a variety of reasons. each group typically has symbols it feels very strongly about. When Canada allows the federal police, the actual arm of legal force of the state and nation of Canada to include these symbols in its uniform those from places at war with those groups cannot feel that they are dealing with the secular and unbiased representitvies of Canada. This is in fact a very reasonable way to feel.

To use an example the left will appreciate, should a Palestinian Canadian get a visit from the RCMP sporting an Israeli flag armband he may have misgivings about our due process. Conversely a Jewish or Israeli expatriate living in Canada is visited by a troop of RCMP sporting Hamas flags or a Hizbolah one.

The Canadian rush to put an ‘ethnic’ face on Canada by allowing Sikh’s to alter the uniform of the Mounted Police most certainly was the barn door to other groups with far more seditious and invasive beliefs to make demands about how they must be accommodated.

Ultimately it boils down the the intellectual slight of hand and hijacking of the term ‘tolerance’. You have the right to live and think as you want. The rest of us are under no obligation to change anything to spare offense to you. More than no obligation, any attempt to change secular democracy must result in conflicts which range from the highly comical, such as the British partially transsexual male driving instructor who had a certificate from the UK Government stating that he was legally a woman being sent to the home of a British Muslim who demanded that his wife get a female instructor for her lessons, to the outright suicidal where British city councils are informed they may not eat during meetings on Ramadam. Or British school children being given detention for refusing to pray to Allah, Either are fairly benign examples compared to dozens of others from Scandinavia in particular.

Amnesty: Stadium packed with 1,000 spectators watched horrific slaying

updated 1 hour, 30 minutes ago

MOGADISHU, Somalia – A 13-year-old girl who said she had been raped was stoned to death in Somalia after being accused of adultery by Islamic militants, a human rights group said.

Dozens of men stoned Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow to death Oct. 27 in a stadium packed with 1,000 spectators in the southern port city of Kismayo, Amnesty International and Somali media reported, citing witnesses. The Islamic militia in charge of Kismayo had accused her of adultery after she reported that three men had raped her, the rights group said.

Initial local media reports said Duhulow was 23, but her father told Amnesty International she was 13. Some of the Somali journalists who first reported the killing later told Amnesty International that they had reported she was 23 based upon her physical appearance.

Possible solution to cultural conflict in Canada. Halaloween!

As various Canadian agencies work hard to disintegrate all Canadian traditions culture and common bonds in the name of tolerance and diversity an idea occurred to me. Why not make it inclusive instead of exclusive. Lets create Halaloween. Women can walk the streets in their burkhas (with their husbands brothers or fathers of course) Threatening people who try and give them candies.

Kids can go as suicide bombers and knock on doors with the traditional cry of Alahu snackbar or ‘death to the infidels.’ If there are any pork products in any of the candies they can pull the cord.

Women preparing for Halaloween

Women out for Hallaloween

Since we can’t seem to get any international agencies to condemn the abuse of children prevalent in the Islamic world by forcing children to become human bombs lets integrate it into a long honored Canadian tradition!
Are these candies Halal?

Are these candies Halal?

As Toronto school boards have seen fit to rename Halloween ‘Black and Orange day’ an alternative might be to create a special day for Canadian culture. We can call it ‘black and blue day’.
We all hide in our homes and do Christmas Chonuka Halloween and other related rituals and have the kids watch out for the police.

Contemporary Islamic justice in Somalia. Ottawa Citizen

Reuters

Published: Tuesday, October 28, 2008  (Hat tip grace)

KISMAYU, Somalia – Somali Islamists have stoned to death a woman accused of adultery in the first such public killing by the militants for about two years, witnesses said.
The 23-year-old woman was placed in a hole up to her neck for the execution late on Monday in front of hundreds of people in a square of the southern port of Kismayu, which the Islamist insurgents captured in August.
Stones were hurled at her head, and she was brought out of the hole three times to see if she had died.
When a relative and others surged forward, guards opened fire, killing a child, the witnesses said.
“A woman in green veil and black mask was brought in a car as we waited to watch the merciless act of stoning,” one local resident, Abdullahi Aden, told Reuters.
“We were told she submitted herself to be punished, yet we could see her screaming as she was forcefully bound, legs and hands. A relative of hers ran towards her, but the Islamists opened fire and killed a child.”
The Islamists last carried out public executions when they ruled Mogadishu and most of south Somalia for half of 2006. Allied Ethiopian and Somali government forces toppled them at the end of that year, but they have waged an Iraq-style guerrilla campaign since then, gradually taking territory back.
As when they ruled Mogadishu in 2006, the Islamists now controlling the Kismayu area are again providing much-needed security, but also imposing fundamentalist practices such as banning entertainment seen as anti-Islamic.
Relatives of the woman executed in Kismayu, whom they named as Asha Ibrahim Dhuhulow, were furious.
“The stoning was totally irreligious and illogical,” said her sister, who asked not to be named. “Islam does not execute a woman for adultery unless four witnesses and the man with whom she committed sex are brought forward publicly.”
Islamist leaders at the execution said the woman had breached Islamic law. They promised to punish the guard who had shot the child in the melee around the execution.
“We apologise for killing the child. And we promise we shall bring the one who opened fire before the courts and deal with him accordingly,” one unnamed Islamist leader told the crowd.

I found this chestnut on SIOE. It shows where the UK was a year or so ago. Some of the more preposterous speculation in this video has already come to pass. Thats the problem with making sarcastic jokes on this issue. It just provides data points on how far we can bend over.

Freedumb in Afghanistan, Islam style.

How do you spell freedom in Afghanistan?

F R E E D U M B.

On October 21,2008 an Afghan appeal court overturned a death penalty ruling against student journalist Sayed Perwiz Kambakhsh, sentencing him instead to twenty years imprisonment. His crime? Questioning the tenets of Islam relating to women. The charge? Blasphemy.

One year ago, Mr. Perwiz Kambakhsh was arrested for downloading an article from the internet which discussed and questioned Islam’s treatment of women under sharia law. He proceeded to bring the article in question to journalism class, presumably hoping to debate it’s contents. His professor informed the authorities and he was promptly arrested and charged with insulting Islam. He sits in pul-e-Charki prison. This was not an act committed by the Taliban, but by the Afghan government, which surely must convince even the most stubborn defender of the world’s religion of peace that brutality and ignorance meted out against Afghanis is not specific to Taliban henchmen. The government itself is devoted to the same Islamic idiocy albeit to a somewhat lesser degree. Sharia law is incorporated into the Afghan constitution; insulting Islam is illegal and blasphemy is a crime punishable by death.

The judges presiding over Mr. Perwiz Kambakhsh’s speedy and closed trial, epitomize the seemingly overwhelming low level of average intellect among Afghanistan’s elite policy makers and legal officials. These same judges were left confused, unaware and bewildered that an article could be downloaded and printed from the internet at all, yet believe themselves fully qualified to oversee legal proceedings which impact the lives of Afghanis in the 21st century.

“The judges who are living in the Middle Ages did not understand the case and readily complied” says Kambakhsh”s brother Sayed Yaqub Ibrahimi, also a journalist. He asserts that Islamists pressured President Hamid Karzai and the appeal court to impose the stiff penalty and asks countries like Canada to intervene on behalf of his brother and condemn the ruling.

In an article from today’s Ottawa Citizen,” Canada must protest sentence of Afghan ‘blasphemer’ brother says” Mr. Ibrahimi notes that his brother has one more chance to appeal the ruling to Afghan’s Supreme Court. It is at this junction he believes Canada could intervene. ” Canada is one of the biggest supporters of Afghanistan. It must ask President Karzai why it is spending millions and millions of dollars for democracy, justice and freedom (when cases like this happen).

Perhaps we should. Or perhaps not.

There can be no doubt by international and rational standards, the penalty brought against Mr. Perwiz Kambakhsh is extreme and unwarranted. If Canada were to consider protesting this sentence and confronting President Karzai on such matters, then perhaps it would also be timely and appropriate to include Canadian Muslim organizations to accompany the Canadian government in issuing a joint statement of condemnation. It would be a breakaway opportunity to end their silence on such matters and contribute in the denouncement of Mr. Kambakhsh’s treatment while simultaneously promoting Western progressive, egalitarian and tolerant ideals they have come to admire and have had the advantage to experience.

Surely, Dr. Muhammed Elmasry of the Canadian Islamic Congress would welcome such an opportunity to exercise his groups long established record on insisting the progression of human rights and fairness for all Muslims. By extending it’s zeal to help a fellow brother of faith in a case clearly mismanaged, the CIC could shake it’s obsession with condemning the Canadian media and to stand behind it’s purported mandate of good will, peace, solidarity and aid as national spokesmen of Canada’s Muslim majority.

Additionally, Muslim organizations such as the CIC and Caircan may be briefly catapulted away from their standard insistence and inflated notion that Muslims are victims primarily of Western, bullish, Islamophobic tactics and openly realize the fact that the vast majority of brutality and oppression perpetrated against Muslims globally comes first and foremost from Islam itself in Islamic nations.

If Canada’s much despised presence in Afghanistan and billions of tax payer dollars are to be spent promoting the principles of democracy and individual freedom amongst a populace either unable or unwilling to progress only to have cases such as this come to the fore where stone age mindset is the obvious rule, then perhaps it is time to re-evaluate our commitment and stop enabling such an ignorant and lost cause, that is Afghanistan.

Unlikely as it is, I would like to believe that Sayed Perwiz Kambakhsh would receive fair legal treatment in his appeal in this case and hope for his release. As unlikely, would be any denouncement from Canadian Muslim organizations in relation to such harsh religious interpretation and Mr. Kambakhsh’s ordeal. All things considered and seven years later the fact remains, this is Afghan freedumb, Islam style.

CFRA interview with Chris Wattie and General Lewis McKenzie on Afghanistan

Steve Madely of CFRA interviews Chris Wattie author of Contact Charlie on the Canadian involvement in Afghanistan. Many feel this is simply the best book written on the allied war there.

“Canadians are good fighters but their politicians are weak” From intel officer within Afghanistan. Very accurate observation.

Chris speaks eloquently about Taliban mentality and tactics. This is revealing of the mind set of terrorists. Putting women children and the odd man in sea shipping containers who wouldn’t obey draconian Islamic rule for a few days and anyone left alive after that would feel a grenade going off within the container.

Tancredo Proposes Anti-Sharia Measure in Wake of U.K. Certification of Islamic Courts

“Jihad Prevention Act” would deny U.S. visas to advocates of ‘Sharia’ law, expel Islamists already here

( WASHINGTON, DC ) – Amid disturbing revelations that the verdicts of Islamic Sharia courts are now legally binding in civil cases in the United Kingdom, U.S. Representative Tom Tancredo (R-Littleton) moved quickly today to introduce legislation designed to protect the United States from a similar fate.

According to recent news reports, a new network of Sharia courts in a half-dozen major cities in the U.K. have been empowered under British law to adjudicate a wide variety of legal cases ranging from divorces and financial disputes to those involving domestic violence.

“This is a case where truth is truly stranger than fiction,” said Tancredo. “Today the British people are learning a hard lesson about the consequences of massive, unrestricted immigration.”

Sharia law, favored by Muslim extremists around the world, often calls for brutal punishment – such as the stoning of women who are accused of adultery or have children out of wedlock, cutting off the hands of petty thieves and lashings for the casual consumption of alcohol. Under Sharia law, a woman is often required to provide numerous witnesses to prove rape allegations against an assailant – a near impossible task.

“When you have an immigration policy that allows for the importation of millions of radical Muslims, you are also importing their radical ideology – an ideology that is fundamentally hostile to the foundations of western democracy – such as gender equality, pluralism, and individual liberty,” said Tancredo. “The best way to safeguard America against the importation of the destructive effects of this poisonous ideology is to prevent its purveyors from coming here in the first place.”

Tancredo’s bill, dubbed the “Jihad Prevention Act,” would bar the entry of foreign nationals who advocate Sharia law. In addition, the legislation would make the advocacy of Sharia law by radical Muslims already in the United States a deportable offense.

Tancredo pointed to the results of a recent poll conducted by the Centre for Social Cohesion as evidence that the U.S. should act to prevent the situation in Great Britain from replicating itself here in the United States. The poll found that some 40 percent of Muslim students in the United Kingdom support the introduction of Sharia law there, and 33 percent support the imposition of an Islamic Sharia-based government worldwide.“We need to send a clear message that the only law we recognize here in America is the U.S. Constitution and the laws passed by our democratically elected representatives,” concluded Tancredo. “If you aren’t comfortable with that concept, you aren’t welcome in the United States.”
