The Islamization of London. A photo tour
When I arrived in London in September it had been more than forty years since I had last spent any time in the city. If I hadn’t kept up with recent events through my British contacts, the changes would have been startling indeed.
The most popular tourist spots appear much the same, and the commercial areas are still thronged with shoppers. No matter where you go, however, the presence of Islam makes itself felt. With the rapid increase in the Muslim population over the past decade, the capital of Britain has moved that much closer to becoming an Islamic city.
The process of Islamization is not always as obvious as in this poster, which appeared one morning last July at a bus shelter on the corner of Mission Grove and Carisbrooke Road, in the Waltham Forest area of East London:

This is the new Islamic Britain as envisioned by the fire-breathing radical Anjem Choudary? and Muslims Against Crusades. MAC’s latest initiative is called The Islamic Emirates Project, and its stated goal is “Breaking the Foundations of Western Civilisation”:
Muslims across the UK collectively declared their disgust of British values and their desire to live by the Shari’ah.
As Muslim enclaves across Britain rapidly edge closer to Islamic autonomy, Muslims Against Crusades in conjunction with several other leading Muslim organisations would like to declare the next chapter in the ongoing campaign to transform Britain into a thriving Islamic state.
Mr. Choudary lives in Ilford, but he and his supporters are also active in East London, Luton, and other parts of England where Islam is ascendant. He is the most forthright and plainspoken of Britain’s Islamic radicals. No taqiyyah or kitman (sacred lying) for him. He proudly proclaims the coming Caliphate in public, volubly and repeatedly, into the microphones and in front of the cameras.
Denial is rampant among the multicultural oligarchs of the political class. The British government prefers to believe that Anjem Choudary and other Islamic zealots are not serious in their avowed intentions. Their incendiary pronouncements are thought to be mere rhetoric — what they really want is more funding, more generous welfare benefits, new state-supported Koran schools, or more parking spaces around their mosques. Everything is business as usual to the politicos.
The leaders of the three major political parties find it impossible to accept that these “extremists” mean exactly what they say. Acknowledging the problem would force the government to actually do something to save the country from destruction. In the second decade of the 21st century — with millions of Muslims already in Britain, and hundreds of thousands more arriving or being born every year — what could they do? How could Islamization ever be reversed without enormous expense or unimaginable violence?
No, it’s better to pretend that everything is harmonious and peaceful and normal in Modern Multicultural Britain.
From time to time the coming Emirate intrudes even into the tourist zones of London. Killer of governor of Pakistan’s Punjab sentenced to death
This bears watching closely. A potential flash point for Pakistan. If the public accepts this death sentence there is the potential at least for Pakistan to rise from its descent into medieval, theocratic rule. My suspicion is riots so major will take place and soon, that the gov’t will somehow try and let this person off while pretending to carry it out in some way to appease Western nations. In any case, this is an important moment for Pakistan and Western relations with it as well.

(Reuters) – A Pakistani court sentenced to death on Saturday the killer of the governor of Pakistan’s largest province after he had called for reform of a law against blasphemy, a defense lawyer and state-run media said.
Mumtaz Qadri was a bodyguard for Punjab province Governor Salman Taseer and shot him dead in the capital, Islamabad, on January 4.
Taseer was an outspoken critic of predominantly Muslim Pakistan’s blasphemy law and Qadri is viewed as a hero by many people who thought Taseer himself was a blasphemer by calling for the law’s reform.
Qadri had said he was enforcing divine law by murdering a blasphemer.
The killing highlighted a growing gulf between conservatives and more liberal elements in society.
Qadri’s supporters took to the streets to denounce the sentence soon after it was handed down at a hearing in a jail where he is being held in the city of Rawalpindi.
“By punishing one Mumtaz Qadri, you will produce a thousand Mumtaz Qadris!” one man shouted through a megaphone outside the jail.

Hizb’allah operates cells world wide to establish Islam as supreme
There may still be some people who do not already know this. I think my best clue was a few years ago, when the RCMP warned Canadians that Canadian based Hizb’allah cells were very likely going to attack Jewish targets within Canada. That and the simple fact that Chavez took what was the coolest country in South America and made it an Iranian patsy since his fear of being an American one borders on psychotic paranoia.

The terrorist group Hezb’allah, based in Lebanon, is establishing “resistance cells” worldwide under the direction of Iran, according to Mohammad Hussein Babai, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in the province of Golestan.
The cells are already infiltrating the United States with the help of Venezuela’s Hugo Chávez and drug cartels.
The Iranian Student News Agency, which is close to the Guards, reported last week that Babai, during a press conference, revealed that these jihadist cells began forming after the 2006 Lebanon war between Israel and Hezb’allah, and with the current Islamic Awakening, they have expanded their operations.
Their mission, Babai said, is to help create an Islam-dominated world.
This is the first time that a high-ranking Revolutionary Guard commander in the Islamic regime of Iran has revealed the presence of such jihadist cells in the world.
“Today we are a witness to our power and authority in the world,” Babai said, “and because of our Islamic Revolution [of 1979], now there is an Islamic Awakening that, with the leadership of the dear supreme leader, Ayatollah [Ali] Khamenei, will become stronger and more resilient.” The West refers to the Islamic Awakening as the Arab Spring.
Hassan Rahimpour Azghadi, who is a member of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution and an important theorist of the Islamic regime in Iran, said in a televised speech last Friday that “today we must get ready for a global operation, and our forces should expand their operation throughout the world.”

AIRO— (MCT) Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to meet with Egyptian leaders today to strengthen strategic ties at a time both nations are experiencing deepening rifts with Israel over military actions and the fate of the Palestinians.
Relations between Turkey and Egypt have been cool for years. But since the fall of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Cairo has embarked on a foreign policy more tuned to regional public sentiment and less beholden to Israel and the United States.
Turkey and Egypt have been Israel’s closest Muslim allies, but recent tensions are altering those dynamics just as the Arab world is in the throes of revolution and political change. Animosities have been further heightened by the Palestinians’ plans to call on the United Nations this month to recognize Palestinian statehood.
Erdogan’s visit comes as Turkey is moving “to convert Egypt’s popular anger with Israel to favor Turkish regional interests,” said Nabil Abdel Fattah, an analyst with Al Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies in Cairo. “It’s a Turkish attempt build an isolating barrier to Israel’s arrogant policies in the Middle East.”
The Turkish leader, who supports swift recognition of Palestinian independence, was scheduled to meet Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday night in Cairo. On Tuesday, Erdogan is expected to hold talks with Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, the head of Egypt’s ruling military council, before traveling to Libya and Tunisia.

Libya’s Interim Leader Calls for State Based on Rule of Law, Islam

The head of Libya’s interim government urged thousands of cheering supporters in the capital, Tripoli, late Monday to support a civil, democratic state that incorporates Islamic law into its principal legislation.
Mustafa Abdel Jalil called on Libyans to build a state based on the rule of law and avoid reprisal attacks against holdouts of former leader Moammar Gadhafi’s government.
In his first speech in Tripoli, the chairman of the National Transitional Council said his provisional administration seeks “a state of law, prosperity and one where Islamic Sharia law is the basis for legislation.”
Jalil arrived in Tripoli Saturday for the first time since his allies chased Mr. Gadhafi out of the city. He addressed the rowdy crowd in Martyrs’ Square, a site that until recently was used for pro-Gadhafi rallies. Egypt’s Brotherhood declares war on the bikini
As noted before on Vlad, Islam means real history and archeology will suffer greatly. Islam considers all history of an area before it became Islamic as ‘the time of ignorance’ and often puts real effort into destroying archeological evidence of pre-Islamic civilizations in order to make the observations fit the fetishized pronouncements of the faith.
More often though, they just simply fail to do any research which is why it took a Frenchman to decode the Egyptian Hieroglyphs when Egypt was full of Coptic people’s who could have done it had the Islamic masters not considered them heresy of a false religion.
During the recent Tahrir square uprisings, we saw people entering museums and destroying ancient Egyptian artifacts and so on. This of course will become the norm soon and as the world, thanks to modern Western civilization, has the technology to destroy large things I predict the utter destruction of the pyramids and the sphinx once Islamists are firmly in control. After all, it would be no different than the massive stone buddhas in Afghanistan, once actually a Buddhist country and by choice.

Sunbathing in Alexandria may soon be a thing of the past, at least if some Egyptian Islamist politicians have their way.Egypt’s tourism industry has suffered a severe blow since the outburst of anti-regime demonstrations in January. But that did not stop the Freedom and Justice Party, the political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood, from demanding stricter regulations over what tourists can do and wear while visiting the country. The party is urging officials to ban skimpy swimwear and the consumption of alcohol on Egyptian streets.

“Beach tourism must take the values and norms of our society into account,” Muhammad Saad Al-Katatny, secretary-general of Freedom and Justice, told Egyptian tourism officials on Monday. “We must place regulations on tourists wishing to visit Egypt, which we will announce in advance.”
The call for new strictures on tourists comes as Egypt debates the role of Islam in the post-Mubarak era. Freedom and Justice is competing in elections scheduled for this autumn for parliament and opinion polls show a majority of Egyptians favor a greater use of Islamic law and mores. But a vocal minority worries that Egypt risks becoming an Islamic republic.
“This is how things began in Iran,” Hani Henry, a psychology professor at the American University in Cairo, told The Media Line. “The moderate youth wanted to implement changes, but the Mullah’s hijacked the revolution. The same thing is now happening here in Egypt with the Muslim Brotherhood. It makes me sick to my stomach.”
Along with Suez Canal tolls and energy exports, tourism is a major source of foreign exchange for Egypt. The dust has not yet settled over the Libyan capital of Tripoli since rebels took control over the weekend. But already, a draft constitutional charter for the transitional state has appeared online (embedded below). It is just a draft, mind you, and gauging its authenticity at this point is difficult. There is also no way to know whether this draft or something similar will emerge as the final governing document for a new Libyan regime.
As both the Morning Bell and Washington in a Flash noted today, Heritage Fellow Jim Phillips recently pointed out that Islamist forces “appear to make up a small but not insignificant part of the opposition coalition,” and must be prevented “from hijacking Libya’s future.” Parts of the draft Constitution allay those fears, while others exacerbate them.
Much of the document describes political institutions that will sound familiar to citizens of Western liberal democracies, including rule of law, freedom of speech and religious practice, and a multi-party electoral system.
But despite the Lockean tenor of much of the constitution, the inescapable clause lies right in Part 1, Article 1: “Islam is the Religion of the State, and the principal source of legislation is Islamic Jurisprudence (Sharia).” Under this constitution, in other words, Islam is law. That makes other phrases such as “there shall be no crime or penalty except by virtue of the law” and “Judges shall be independent, subject to no other authority but law and conscience” a bit more ominous.

Turkey seeing the end of ‘muscular secularism’?
Here is a screen cap of a machine translation from a German article here (from Der Spiegel). If anyone speaks German, it is probably well worth reading this in the original, doubly so as the immediate consequences to Germany are likely more severe than to most other nations.

It does seem a great deal that Turkey’s flirtation with secular and liberal democracy, even if forced by the military, has come to an end and Erdogan’s much more Islamic minded rule wins out. Many in Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood who may well take power soon there, are attempting to forge a new Egypt-Iran-Turkey alliance. This would make maps wrinkle for some time. I am working on editing an Al Jazeera video of a Coffee house show where this idea is batted around. Hope to have it done soon.

Iran’s leaders, dominated by fanatical mullahs, announced in mid-July that the installment of faster centrifuges had begun and that they will soon triple the production of enriched uranium to 20 percent at the Fardo nuclear facility deep in the mountain near the city of Qom. It is estimated that Iran will have enough highly enriched uranium for one nuclear bomb within two months and currently has enough low-enriched uranium for three nuclear bombs.
