Fascinating example of media uselessness.

If I didn’t already know better, I would say it was some kind of inverse Tourette’s Syndrome. Or perhaps a city-wde case of hysterical blindness. Actually, maybe thats what is is.

UPDATE: SDAMATT found a CBC clip which actually represents the real events as they happened without, as far as I know, sanitizing them for the usual leftist-Islamic, PC agenda. I am in shock. SUN TV must have them nervous if they have to actually resort to the truth now and again.

Greece: Facebook takes down profiles of neo-nazi MPs

And so it begins. The selective enforcement of suppression of information based on arbitrarily applied standards. While I do believe that Golden Dawn are in fact a kind of Nazi based on rational definitions of the term, it makes no difference. Once facebook or google or whoever starts deciding who’s views are OK and who’s are not we have an Orwellian informational world. Which is to say an Orwellian world. We all already know that Jihadis who preach death to all Jews and the destruction of entire nations based on the ethnicity of the residents are prominent on Facebook, youtube, and hell, their beachheads (Mosques) are Govt. funded in every Western nation on earth. No problem there.

Canada just debated on giving an Iranian mosque which broke the spirit and letter of the hate-crimes laws a spanking and elected not to. Yet Terry Jones was not allowed in to speak against this kind of ideology.

And now facebook takes it upon themselves to ban members of Golden Dawn while allowing for example, ZHC, a Pakistani Hackers group that took over the website of a child with leukemia trying to raise funds for treatment in the name of Islam.

EDL and We Are Norwich protests: Four arrested at demonstrations

As th BBC did not specifically say that it was EDL members that were arrested but worded it so that a quick read would link the two concepts in the mind of the readers, I would say it is a safe bet that it was anti-EDL counter-demonstrators who acted up and were arrested. But I don’t ‘know’ this. I am merely extrapolating based on what I have seen so far.

BBC:

EDL supporters at the start of their march About 200 EDL supporters took part in the march through Norwich

Police made four arrests during an English Defence League march and counter-protest in Norwich.

Officers from 11 forces were on duty as about 200 EDL supporters and up to 2,000 members of the We Are Norwich coalition marched through the city.

Police said the day passed off relatively peacefully, although extra officers remained in the city centre into the evening as a precaution.

Both groups said they were they were pleased with the outcome of the day.

The EDL organised its march in protest at Norwich City Council’s decision to ban Pastor Alan Clifford of Norwich Reformed Church for promoting “hate-motivated” anti-Islam leaflets from a council-owned stall on Hay Hill.

We Are Norwich, a coalition of 25 groups, staged a counter-demonstration.

The EDL march began at Castle Gardens, passing through central Norwich to City Hall.

The We Are Norwich march began with a rally at Chapelfield Gardens and also finished at City Hall.

The war memorial was barricaded off and the two opposing groups were kept apart across a “sterile zone” in front of City Hall, but there was some isolated trouble.

Two men were arrested for suspected public order offences.

Wil Benghazi Lies Determine Election? Not If MSM Have Their Way!

Diana West:

Washington, DC — Two weeks ago, I reported here that the Obama administration had dug itself into a minefield of lies about the Benghazi terrorist attack that the president would have to cross to get to Election Day. Whether he will do so unscathed remains unclear, but if Barack Obama is re-elected president on November 6, it will be for one reason only. It will be because the US media threw themselves on every Benghazi bombshell that threatened the president, shutting down democracy in the process.

Not all of the media, of course. Fox News, WND.com, Daily Beast, Reuters, CNN, CBS and others have reported most of the key facts now available. These include, first, the revelation that intelligence immediately indicated the US consulate in Benghazi was destroyed in a planned terrorist attack, not as the result of a “spontaneous” protest triggered by a Youtube video. The latter scenario, however, is the demonstrable lie the Obama administration, including President Obama, repeatedly told for weeks. Later, the State Department established the fact that no “protest” at all occurred before the attack. The Obama administration explanation for these and other discrepancies? “Bad intelligence” or “fog of war.” The major media largely agree, no questions asked. Literally.

This past week, a new set of factors emerged darkly underscoring the appearance of a White House cover-up. These include the publication of the email bulletins that alerted the highest administration officials that the US consulate in Benghazi was under terrorist attack. These emails began arriving in Washington within the first hour of what would stretch into an eight-hour battle. We also learned that the Americans under rocket and mortar fire in Libya repeatedly called for military support; that military support was within two hours’ flying time; and that no help was ever deployed. Four Americans, including the US Ambassador, were killed in the attack that left many others wounded.

Quoting historical fact, now a firing offense in Canada

Politically correct – a mugging at Queen’s

Michael Mason’s 50-year teaching career ended on a sour note. Last fall, his history classes at Queen’s University were abruptly cancelled after he was accused of making racist and sexist comments in the classroom. He had used the terms “rag head,” “towel head,” “japs” and “little yellow sons of bitches.” A student complained that his “borderline racist comments” made her “very uncomfortable.” On top of that, one of his female teaching assistants complained because he’d told them they should become “mistresses.”

Dirty old creep? Not so fast. The subject of the course was imperialism and neo-colonialism at the time of the Second World War. Prof. Mason was using the offensive phrases to illustrate the attitudes of that era. They were direct quotes from contemporaneous documents – a context that was abundantly clear to nearly all of the 140 students who had flocked to his popular course.

As for “mistresses,” Prof. Mason had merely expressed the hope that his (mainly female) students would become masters and mistresses of the material by the end of the semester.

These nuances didn’t interest the administration, which quickly called him on the carpet. The department chair sent him a letter of reprimand, saying he had contravened the university’s equity policy. He was summoned to a meeting, where he was told he had failed to create a “safe space” for students. One of the administrators spoke of the need for “inclusivity” in the classroom. They told him that they had decided to open an investigation, and that he should stop teaching until it was completed.
