Politically correct – a mugging at Queen’s

Michael Mason’s 50-year teaching career ended on a sour note. Last fall, his history classes at Queen’s University were abruptly cancelled after he was accused of making racist and sexist comments in the classroom. He had used the terms “rag head,” “towel head,” “japs” and “little yellow sons of bitches.” A student complained that his “borderline racist comments” made her “very uncomfortable.” On top of that, one of his female teaching assistants complained because he’d told them they should become “mistresses.”
Dirty old creep? Not so fast. The subject of the course was imperialism and neo-colonialism at the time of the Second World War. Prof. Mason was using the offensive phrases to illustrate the attitudes of that era. They were direct quotes from contemporaneous documents – a context that was abundantly clear to nearly all of the 140 students who had flocked to his popular course.
As for “mistresses,” Prof. Mason had merely expressed the hope that his (mainly female) students would become masters and mistresses of the material by the end of the semester.
These nuances didn’t interest the administration, which quickly called him on the carpet. The department chair sent him a letter of reprimand, saying he had contravened the university’s equity policy. He was summoned to a meeting, where he was told he had failed to create a “safe space” for students. One of the administrators spoke of the need for “inclusivity” in the classroom. They told him that they had decided to open an investigation, and that he should stop teaching until it was completed.
Well, it appears the left has succeeded in eliminating discrimination . . .all discrimination down to the task of discriminating whether it’s night or day, right or wrong, left or right. Generations of fools – indescriminate degree bearing scholars will be dealing with what surges on the political horizon.

The once great educational system of the West is in the control of the left, the left that wants all graduates to be semi-literate at best and thinks the dumber the people are the easier they are to fool.
OT – Islamic school trains ‘Made in France’ imams
Deep in the wooded hills of Burgundy in central France, an unusual institute is training unusual students: aspiring French imams who hope to minister to the country’s large Muslim population.
Early in the morning, some 200 students from across the country stream into the European Institute of Human Sciences de Saint-Leger-de-Fougeret, where they learn to chant the Quran and study Islamic theology and Arabic literature.
[…]Over the past nine years, various governments have encouraged the professional training of local religious leaders. Interior Minister Manuel Valls recently backed the practice, even if the job of imam is badly paid, if at all, and enjoys no official recognition.
The initiative goes back 20 years when the Union of Islamic Organizations in France, which has close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, converted a former children’s holiday center into the institute. Its stated aim is to train imams equipped “with a solid knowledge of Islam and the socio-cultural realities of Europe.”

Feds probe rejection of Minnesota mosque

MINNEAPOLIS — The U.S. Department of Justice has launched a formal civil rights investigation into the city of St. Anthony’s decision to reject a planned mosque.
[…]St. Anthony City Council members voted 4-1 in June to turn down plans for Abu Huraira Islamic Center, prompting CAIR-MN to request an investigation. The U.S. Attorney’s Office conducted an initial review to see if the case had merit.
U.S. Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Jeanne Cooney said a formal investigation was launched last week. She couldn’t discuss specifics, but said Monday: “With all of our civil rights investigations, our ultimate goal is to resolve the dispute to the satisfaction of the parties involved. It’s still our hope that we can resolve this dispute.”
If a resolution can’t be reached, Cooney said, litigation is an option.

OT – SAUDI ARABIA TO BUILD $100-million MEGA MOSQUE AND MADRASSA in KABUL AFGHANISTAN
KABUL: Saudi Arabia will build a massive Islamic centre complete with a university and a mosque in Afghanistan, an Afghan minister said Monday, describing the project as “grand and unique”.
Estimated to cost up to $100 million, the centre on a hilltop in central Kabul will house up to 5,000 students, Dayi-Ul Haq Abed, the acting Hajj and religious affairs minister told AFP.
It will be named after Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the minister added.
“The agreement was signed last week in Jeddah. The construction will start next year, in couple of months or so,” Abed said.
The mosque, similar to the Faisal Mosque in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad that was also built by oil-rich Saudi Arabia in 1980s, will hold 15,000 worshippers at a time.
The minister said the centre will be run jointly by the Saudi and Afghan ministries of religious affairs. Other universities in Afghanistan are run by the higher education ministry.
Saudi Arabia was one of only three countries – along with Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates – that recognised the hardline Islamist Taliban regime during its rule in Afghanistan from 1996-2001.
The Taliban were overthrown in a US-led invasion shortly after the 9/11 attacks on New York and Washington for harbouring Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, but have waged an 11-year insurgency.
The US and Nato still have more than 100,000 troops in Afghanistan supporting the government of President Hamid Karzai, but they are due to pull out all combat forces by the end of 2014.

From the sound of it, this professor was doing his part to tow the leftist line of how evil the west was during WWII. Funny I didn’t see any mention of REAL colonialism, such as Japan’s rape of Nanking, or Hitler’s rampage across the entire world. Seems from the course’s description: “The subject of the course was imperialism and neo-colonialism at the time of the Second World War.” and his use of terms that the only topic of the course was the evil west. Seems the cultural-marxist tiger he rode in on decided to eat him. Pitty its come to that, but sounds like the SOB had it coming to him.

Don’t waste your money on a university education, it’s just leftard indoctrination. You’d be better off doing your own research & education.
I agree with WPF. It is better to create a better self awaremess of what is good and what is bad and prevent further damage to our own self and to our western cvilisation via one own self education and research. Even in an asian kindergarten in south east asia, one of the asian teacher was most biased and promoted hatred against the British when he told the small kids that British colonialist were the bullies and all the lies.Perhaps this asian(chinese malaysian) non-moslem teacher have been influenced by asian (malaysia) moslems hatred for the British colonists.
