ATTACKS: Sweden and US Embassy in Turkey

1. Mass stabbing attack at IKEA in Sweden, almost certainly by a jihadi.

(As I see it, an attack at IKEA can only be from 2 sources and as he didn’t go after the staff, it almost certainly isn’t someone who tried to assemble their furniture)

2. U.S. consulate in Turkey targeted as wave of attacks kills nine

By Yesim Dikmen and Seyhmus Cakan

ISTANBUL/DIYABAKIR (Reuters) – Two women shot at the U.S. consulate in Istanbul on Monday and at least eight people were killed in a wave of separate attacks on Turkish security forces, weeks after Ankara launched a crackdown on Islamic State, Kurdish and far-left militants.

The NATO member has been in a heightened state of alert since starting its “synchronized war on terror” last month, including air strikes against Islamic State fighters in Syria and Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants in northern Iraq. It has also rounded up hundreds of suspected militants at home.

A far-left group that killed a Turkish security guard in a 2013 suicide bombing of the U.S. embassy in Ankara claimed it was involved in Monday’s attack.

The Revolutionary People’s Liberation Army-Front (DHKP-C), considered a terrorist organization by the United States and Turkey, said one of its members was involved in the attack, and called Washington the “arch enemy” of the people of the Middle East and the world.

1. Outrage after Turkish politician excuses attack on ‘slitty-eyed’ tourists

ISTANBUL: A Turkish opposition leader sparked fury Wednesday by saying a mistaken attack on Korean tourists by anti-Chinese protesters was understandable, given that both peoples have “slitty eyes.”

The comments by Turkey’s Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) chief Devlet Bahceli were particularly sensitive at a time when his party is seen as a possible partner for the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in a government coalition after June 7 elections.

Over the last week, hundreds of Turkish nationalists across the country have protested China’s alleged restrictions on Muslim Uighurs worshiping and fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.

On Saturday Turkish nationalists shouting “Allahu Akbar” mistakenly attacked a group of South Korean tourists in the heart of Istanbul’s old city, believing they were Chinese.

“These are young people. Some can mislead these young people and they may follow them,” Bahceli said in an interview with Hurriyet newspaper published on Wednesday.

“What is the difference between a Korean and a Chinese anyway? They both have slitty eyes. Does it make any difference?” he said.

(And Jews sunk the Titanic. After all, Greenberg, Goldberg, Iceberg, whats the difference)

2. Group protesting Uighur Turks’ extradition to China attacks Thailand consulate in Istanbul

DHA Photo

A group of protesters attacked Thailand consulate located in Istanbul’s ?i?li district late on Wednesday to denounce Thailand’s decision to extradite Uighur Turks to China.

The group gathered in front of the consulate to make a press statement around 11.00 p.m. local time but after the statement the protest turned violent as the crowd broke into the consulate building, smashed the windows and lowered the country’s flag.

A number of security forces have been deployed to the area and dispersed the group.

3. Boko Haram offers to swap kidnapped girls for detainees

(Exactly what is the point of having all these advanced weapons if you are going to buy in to a chump’s extortion racket like that)

Nigeria’s Boko Haram extremists are offering to free more than 200 young women and girls kidnapped from a boarding school in the town of Chibok in exchange for the release of militant leaders held by the government, a human rights activist has told The Associated Press.

The activist said Boko Haram’s current offer is limited to the girls from the school in northeastern Nigeria whose mass abduction in April 2014 ignited worldwide outrage and a campaign to “Bring Back Our Girls” that stretched to the White House.

5. Iran Deadline Passes, Talks Continue

(I would suggest at this point that the US government replace the term, ‘deadline’ with one  closer to the actual meaning of what they do. A few suggestions might be, ‘Im not feeling very well line’ or, the ‘Gezuntheit line’, or possibly the, ‘might be coming down with something nebula’.)

Desperate to get a deal, John Kerry and his European counterparts breezed past the latest deadline for reaching an agreement with Iran over its nuclear program. The Tuesday deadline has now been extended to Friday but officials in Vienna are reportedly being careful not to refer to that as a deadline.

Despite their willingness to extend past deadlines time and again, the Obama administration was trying to assure Washington Post reporters on the ground that the United States will walk away if Iran fails to come to terms with the US and the other countries at the table.

“I believe we will in the near term either get this deal or find out we can’t,” a senior Obama administration official here said. “On any given day, if we feel that we’re just not going to get there, that will be that.”

6. Islamic Party of Canada website

(You may want to take an Imodium before you look through this)

The purpose of this party is to give a voice to those who are in favour of political, economic, and educational reform, bringing back the global renaissance started in the Islamic world 1200-900 years ago. This “voice” will criticize wrongdoings of the current Canadian government and governments abroad, represent, and encourage the knowledge process and seeking of knowledge, protect minorities, create a peaceful environment (i.e., not fuelled by fear and hate), and provide adequate homeland security.

(News flash to the Muslim Party. Ill take advice from them on how to protect minorities when I take fine furniture preservation advice from termites)

Thank you Bains, M., Gates of Vienna, ML., and all. And many more actually. The melt down we paranoids have been thinking was likely to happen, appears to have begun. As horrible as it will be, the tiny consolation for most of us is that we did our best to let people know what we felt was likely to come based on current policies and attitudes. We will be as screwed as everyone else, but we know we tried.

Hizb ut-Tahrir holds rally on Temple Mount demanding Arab nations destroy Israel

Story at Elders of Zion

Direct incitement against Jews and demanding the destruction of the Jewish state – on Judaism’s holiest spot.

I only found this story in one place, Wattan TV, but according to that article there was a massive rally on the Temple Mount today from Hizb ut-Tahrir, a radical Islamist group that wants to reinstate the caliphate. In fact, this rally was meant to mark the 93rd anniversary of the caliphate being dismantled.

Thousands of members of the Hizb ut-Tahrir gathered in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque to participate in the appeal to “the Islamic nation and the Muslim armies in order to establish the caliphate and move armies to liberate Al-Aqsa Mosque and the rest of Palestine from Jewish occupation.”

3Department Of Defense’s Death Spiral

Grove City, PA –-(Ammoland.com)- The American armed forces are in a death spiral.

President Obama’s administration seems to be at war with its military leadership. In the past five years, Obama has sacked more senior officers than all other presidents combined. It wasn’t until the last 60 years that the United States was considered a top military power. Today, the American military is on the verge of becoming weaker than it was in 1939 when Hitler started his European rampage and Japan pushed its aggression into Asia.
