TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — Israeli researchers and Jewish leaders on Sunday reported a 30 percent jump in anti-Semitic violence and vandalism last year, topped by a deadly school shooting in France, and expressed alarm about the rise of far-right parties in Hungary, Greece and other countries.

Following a two-year decline in the figures, the annual report on worldwide anti-Semitic incidents recorded 686 attacks in 34 countries, ranging from physical violence to vandalism of synagogues and cemeteries, compared to 526 in 2011. The report was issued at Tel Aviv University, in cooperation with the European Jewish Congress, an umbrella group representing Jewish communities across Europe.

The report linked the March 2012 shooting at a Jewish school in Toulouse, where an extremist Muslim gunman killed four, to a series of copycat attacks, particularly in France, where physical assaults on Jews almost doubled.

JERUSALEM | Sun Mar 24, 2013 8:07am EDT

(Reuters) – Israel said it fired into Syria on Sunday and destroyed a machinegun position in the Golan Heights from where shots had been fired at Israeli soldiers in a further spillover of the Syrian civil war along a tense front.

It was not immediately clear whether Israel held Syrian troops or rebels responsible for what a spokesman for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said had been a deliberate attack on Israeli patrols in the occupied territory.

It is stunning how the mass media manages to make it look like Israel is the aggressor when it is defending itself from aggression and usually with phenomenal restraint given all they did was destroy the equipment used to attack them.

Norwegian media actually covers story on Islamic antisemitism!

From The Observer:

“This is a very interesting clip from NRK about the Palestinian demonization of the Jews and the massive Norwegian financial aid to the Palestinian authorities, of which some is used to fund this hatred.”

This also reveals the critical Islamic roots of the conflict above and beyond the alleged geopolitical reasons for it.

Hezbollah linked to Burgas bus bombing in Bulgaria

bus bombing bulgaria Hizb'allah

The Bulgaria bombing would be the first successful Hezbollah attack in the West since the 1980s, police say

A bus bombing that killed five Israelis and a driver in Bulgaria was most likely the work of Lebanon’s Hezbollah militants, Bulgarian officials say.

The attack, in the Black Sea resort of Burgas in July 2012, was carried out by a bomber who died at the scene.

A six-month probe uncovered “obvious links” to Lebanon and Hezbollah, prompting criticism from Israel’s prime minister and a top US official.

Israel has always blamed Hezbollah – and Iran – for the bombing.

Toronto Yeshiva Defaced with Anti-Semitic Graffiti

Israel national News:

Students at the “Mishkan HaTorah” Yeshiva in Toronto, Canada, were shocked when they arrived in the early hours of the morning to find that the building was covered with anti-Semitic graffiti.

This is the second time in a short period of the time that the building has been defaced.

During the last incident, police who arrived the scene reportedly did not adequately apprehend the perpetrators who were trying to instill fear among the students.

Yeshiva officials filed a request with local police forces to increase security around the premises in order to strengthen students’ sense of security and prevent further attacks.

In November 2011, the Beth Tikvah Synagogue in Toronto was sprayed with the words “Islam will rule” and a swastika was painted on the building’s exterior.

The Canadian Council for Israel and Jewish Advocacy said at the time that measures had been implements to increase the security at the synagogue.

“We will remain vigilant in the wake of this disturbing and offensive event,” Shimon Fogel, CEO of the Canadian Jewish organization, said at the time.

Minister Jason Kenney released this statement:

Palestinians desecrate Jewish holy site

For those who do not already know, Islam teaches that all things, and especially religious artifacts from before the time of Islam, are considered to be “from the time of ignorance” and must be destroyed. Therefore these actions are not isolated incidents, nor are they proxy-targets due to anger or geopolitical forces.

They are in fact part of Islam’s war on history itself, as the Afghan 100 foot Buddha statues and literally thousands of Hindu temples can attest.

Golem Bar, who sent this link, has this to say:

the incident in question is nothing new, as it has occurred many times before, not Just in Israel of course but in any nation that Islam has triumphed, where the local holy sites were destroyed and razed to the ground in order to extinguish the culture and religion of the natives.

However what is endemic in this continued assault on non-Islamic-heritage sights, whether it is in Mali, Afghanistan, the Maldives, Egypt, The Byzantine Empire etc.. is the hypocrisy and deafening silence on the part of the West to condemn these incidents.

When Islamists attempt to erect a skyscraper mosque on the sight of the worst mass murder of American citizens by their fellow co-religionists they are coddled and supported to no end by liberal sycophants and a large portion of Western media, even going so far as to nominate the convicted felon behind the project as a “man of the year”,  but noted silence on actions such as these, where is the State Dept and the U.N to condemn this incident? Where is UNESCO? both issue angry and hostile proclamations anytime an Israeli so much as looks the wrong way at a “Palestinian”, yet muted silence is all we hear now

Israel Today:

Jewish worshippers visiting the tomb of the biblical patriarch Joseph in the Palestinian-controlled town of Nablus (Shechem) on Wednesday were shocked to find the holy site severely desecrated.

The group of some 2,500 Jewish pilgrims told Israel’s Maariv newspaper that Jewish holy books at the site had been burned, furniture smashed, the smell of urine was abundant, and there was evidence of an effort to burn down the structure.

“Only barbarians would do horrible things like this to such a holy site,” local Jewish leader Gershon Mesika told the newspaper. “Israel can no longer allow its holy places to be freely desecrated.”

An Iranian diplomat who defected in Norway in 2010 warned Israel on Friday that if the Iranians got the bomb they would use it against the Jewish state.

In an interview with Israel’s Channel 2 TV, Mohammad Reza Heydari, the former Iranian consul in Oslo who resigned and obtained political asylum there three years ago, said that ”If Iran is given more time, it will acquire the knowledge necessary to build a nuclear bomb within a year.” Asked whether it would use the bomb against Israel, he said: “If Iran gets to the point where it has an atomic bomb, it will certainly use it, against Israel or any other [enemy] country.”

Heydari — who defected soon after he was asked to identify his son in photos taken during the protests that followed the 2009 vote in which Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was reelected — said the regime in Tehran was aiming to develop two or three bombs. It saw nuclear weapons as “insurance” to guarantee its survival.
