Court ruling: Anti-Jihad posters to come to Washington

Washington will become the next American city to display a notorious anti-Jihad public advert, after a district judge declined a local Metro injunction asking for it to be delayed.

Washington Metro argued that the posters, which were scheduled to be displayed on trains throughout the city from late September, should be delayed indefinitely in the wake of the fallout from the Innocence of Muslims online film, that provoked riots and demonstrations throughout the Islamic world.

It requested that the earliest date the posters should be put up, be moved to November 1, providing there is no “verifiable” terrorist threat. Instead Judge Rosemary Collyer ordered the ads to be displayed no later than 5 p.m. on Monday.

“It’s a victory for everyone,” said Robert Muise, the attorney for the advertiser. “It’s a victory for all freedom-loving Americans.”

The posters were devised by the controversial American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) – which was behind the campaign against an Islamic community center being built within two blocks of the destroyed World Trade Center.  The posters have already appeared in New York and San Fransisco.

“In Any War Between the Civilized Man and the Savage, Support the Civilized Man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad,” reads the text of the advert.

Allah isn’t great – not in Botkyrka, not in Sweden, not anywhere

Ismail Okur from the mosque in Botkyrka, Sweden, assures that the Muslim prayer call can be equated with Christian church bells that have been part of Swedish and European culture for a thousand years.

He is of course well aware that it isn’t true and that the prayer call is and always has been a manifestation of Muslim supremacy over Christians, Jews and anybody else, who Islam labels as infidels and blasphemers.

He also knows full well that an area that has accepted this Islamic demonstration of power every Friday and soon five times a day has thereby signaled that it has surrendered to Islam, and that its non-Muslim inhabitants have acquiesced in a life as dhimmies, i.e. as subjects deprived of legal protection and at the mercy of Muslim dominance.

PARIS (AP) — Police carried out raids across France on Saturday after DNA on a grenade that exploded last month at a kosher grocery store led them to a suspected jihadist cell of young Frenchmen recently converted to Islam.

The man whose DNA was identified, named by police as Jeremy Sydney, was killed by police after he opened fire on them, slightly wounding three officers in the eastern city of Strasbourg. Officials said he had been under surveillance since last spring — around the time a French Islamic went on a shooting rampage against a Jewish school and French soldiers, killing seven people.

Ten other suspects, aged between 19 and 25, were arrested across the country on Saturday. One man was carrying a loaded gun, and police found weapons, cash and a list of Paris-area Israeli associations during the raids.

Ham, bacon thrown outside B.C. mosque

A tragic waste of food. However I would very much like to know what was written by the perps as attacks on Islam as a religion or even on Muslims as its followers are not in any way racist any more than attacks on the KKK or the Nazis would be. And in fact, Islam, the KKK and Nazis are pretty much indistinguishable in most ways except who they feel should reign supreme.

VANCOUVER — Mounties are investigating as a hate crime the piles of bacon and ham thrown at and scattered on the doorsteps of a Port Coquitlam mosque last week.

Coquitlam RCMP and B.C.’s hate crime team are on the case, especially since it’s the second time in about 18 months the mosque has been targeted.

In March 2011, racial slurs were sprayed on the side of the Islamic Society of B.C. building.

Society president Saad Bahr said the most recent incident came after as many as 50 people, among them families with children, left the building after finishing evening prayers but suddenly returned screaming.

“We went out, everybody, and we noticed there was ham and pig bacon. It was disgusting and sad … scattered around the floor, thrown across the glass,” Bahr said Tuesday.

Islamic scriptures forbid followers from consuming pork, as the meat is considered impure.

USA in support of african-led forces for Mali

The US will support ‘well planned and equipped african-led forces’ that can assist in forcing islamists out of northern Mail, according to american government agencies.

‘Sooner or later, military action will become necessary to force the al Qaida-related rebels of the islamic Maghreb out of northern Mali’, says american top diplomat Johnnie Carson. He emphasises, however, that such forces must be under the Mali army’s command, and that Mali’s neighbouring countries must agree to the formation of these forces.

Last week, Mali, France and several west-african countries argued for the establishment of african-led forces, which can support Mali authorities to chase the islamist rebels from the country’s northern parts, which they assumed control of in march.

A group of younger officers seized the power in the country and overthrew president Amadou Touré, protesting the fact that the official army got too few ressources to combat islamists in the northern parts of the country. Paradoxically enough, this coup led to the islamists taking over larger parts of northern Mali, where they have introduced a strict sharia regime.

Step by step, al-Shabaab is being rolled back in Somalia. The al-Qaeda affiliate appears to have been compelled to abandon Kismayo, the last big town under its control. That matters a lot because Kismayo is also a significant port and the extremists were making plenty of money by shipping charcoal and other goods out and weapons in. If they have lost Kismayo, they will have been deprived of perhaps their most important source of revenue.

Only a year ago, al-Shabaab controlled almost all of southern Somalia including most of Mogadishu. When I visited last December, they were still clinging to some enclaves of the capital. Today, they have been kicked out of Mogadishu altogether and reduced to a largely rural insurgency.
