My fears about Muslims applying for hunting licenses in Norway were not unfounded, here is the latest from the Norwegian Muslim fundamentalist wasteland. No reason is given as to why he is so open about his intentions on his Facebook page, perhaps hoping to be a martyr for the cause after being picked up, tried and sentenced to jail for obvious incitement to murder.

Malmö: Cinema employees threatened

Arbetsmiljöverket considers that staff is being exposed to threats and violence on a daily basis. 90 % of the menacing situations result from enforcing the minimum 15-years admission limit. Employees have been threatened by large gangs which said ‘We’ll take care of you outside’. This has led to a situation that employees were afraid to go home late. ‘These are not daily threats, no, but the problem results when staff must enforce the minimum 15-years admission limit. Often, it’s the parents who are the most menacing’, says Annika Christén.

It happens that underage visitors are being stopped by the foyer wardens, if they can’t show proper identification. One suggestion is that maintaining-order guards should be present in the foyers, or at least be reachable, like at the Entré. All employees should receive written instructions on how these risks should be handled, and SF Bio must have an action plan. According to Arbetsmiljöverket, its criticism also aims at the the employer’s omission to investigate death threats, insults and violence. Likewise, no investigation has taken place into damage inflicted on machines, or fire damage to a popcorn machine.   ‘We take this very seriously, and we are determined to become better. Earlier deficits may depend on lacking knowledge’, says Annika Christén. She and SF Bio now have time until 24 january to improve the workplace environment for the around 50 employees, and to prove for Arbetsmiljöverket what they have done to achieve this goal.

Hundreds of Muslim demonstrators gathered in central Oslo on Friday afternoon for a peaceful protest against an anti-Islam film, while some 150 radical Islamists gathered outside the US embassy.

Oslo’s imams were joined in the main protest at Youngstorget by the city’s Conservative Mayor Fabian Stang, and Lutheran Bishop Ole Christian Kvarme.

“With this peaceful protest we want to maintain and strengthen our unity. As believers we understand each other,” said Bishop Kvarme in a speech.

“We’re using our freedom of expression today to show that we need to have respect,” he added.

The head of the Islamic Council Norway also spoke to the crowd in the city centre square.

“We’re here to express our outrage at the violations we’ve seen of the prophet. This has nothing to do with freedom of expression; it’s just plain bullying of Muslims,” he said.

A large number of police officers monitored the second rally at the US embassy, where one person was apprehended.

“This world needs another Osama,” news agency NTB quoted one of the demonstrators as saying outside the embassy.

In Pakistan, deadly clashes flared on Friday as tens of thousands took to the streets , throwing stones and setting buildings ablaze to denounce a US-made film that has fanned global Muslim anger.

Under investigation terror threats from norwegian islamist group

A radical group of norwegian moslems warns about a new 22 July [Breivik attacks] or 11 september on norwegian ground.

This emanates from a letter sent to norwegian politicians. The letter has also been sent to several norwegian editorial offices.

Today, PST  started to investigate the contents.

 

‘We have started to investigate this letter’, says PST communication counsellor Siv Alsén towards VG Nett [this paper].

 

‘If norwegian soldiers can take planes to Afghanistan, then Osama and Mohammed can also take planes to Norway, inshaAllah. Now, the government must wake up and assume responsibility, before this war spreads to Norway. Before the counterpart reacts. Before moslems take the step necessary. Do not confuse the moslems’ silence with weakness. Do not profit from the moslems’ patience. Do not force us to do something that can be avoided. This is not a threat, only the words of truth. The words of justice. A warning that the consequences can be fatal. A warning about a 9/11 on norwegian ground, or larger attacks than the one carried out on 22 july. This is for your own good and in your own best interest.’

 

According to what VG Nett learns, several of the group’s members are persons who already earlier were on the PST’s radar. This is apparently also part of the background why the secret service takes the matter serious.

 

The group mentions prime minister Jens Stoltenberg, foreign minister Jonas Gahr Støre and defence minister Espen Barth Eide.

 

The motive for the warning is the wish of this radical islamist group to establish an islamic state in Grønland, Oslo.

 

‘We do not want to be a part of norwegian society. And we do not consider it necessary either to move away from Norway, because we were born and grew up here. And Allah’s earth belongs to everybody. But let Grønland become ours. Bar this city quarter and let us control it the way we wish to do it. This is the best for both parts. We do not wish to live together with dirty beasts like you.’

Neither the office of the prime minister, the foreign ministry nor the defense ministry wished to comment on the matter. All of them emphasize that issues of government members’ safety lies with the police’s responsibility

Shoaib Sultan is a counsellor at Antirasistisk Senter. According to him, this is a group actively seeking attention for its hate-filled ideology.

‘Extreme groups are often obliged to take to such effects, and we have a long history among f ex extreme right-wing activists in Norway trying to appear bigger and more powerful than they really are. This said, however, threats need to be taken seriously, and it is reassuring that PST are investigating.’

His summary:

The Gypsies are supporting their Norwegian stay through aggressive begging, burglaries and theft. Up until recently these gypsies, who number several hundred individuals in total, set up camps in various parks around Oslo and left a trail of human excrement and rubbish behind them. After having been evicted by the police from these makeshift camps, they have now set up a major camp outside a church in Oslo.

It’s a proper tin-shack, or perhaps a tarpaulin city is a more fitting word to describe the esthetic new addition to the church.

Norway: Now the government will expel somalis by force

VG Nett [this paper] knew before about the meeting but chose, for reasons of security, to wait with publishing the information until the minister had left the country.

The visit’s objective was, seen from the government’s part, to start working on a return acoord with Somalia. This happens after all winter long there has been raging a debate on the government’s asylum policy, among other things about forced returns to Ethiopia.

Al-Qaeda plotting to bomb US plane

LONDON: Al-Qaeda is plotting a terrorist attack on a US airliner, Britain’s Sunday Times newspaper reported, citing intelligence sources.

The broadsheet said Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) had recruited  a Norwegian Muslim convert and given him terrorist training in Yemen, and that  the group were believed to have selected a US passenger jet as a target.

“The Norwegian recruit goes under the Islamic name of Muslim Abu  Abdurrahman,” the newspaper said.

Religious leaders furious over Norway’s proposed circumcision ban

JENNY Klinge,  Norway’s Centre Party justice policy spokeswoman, has angered religious leaders by condemning the ritual circumcision of infant boys. Calling it “outdated” and “dangerous”, she called for its ban. She said:

In my view, this is a custom that we cannot accept in a modern, civilized society. Our aim is to prioritise the rights of small children. Fortunately, it has become forbidden to circumcise girls, now it’s time for boys to get the same legal protection.

Jenny Klinge says the ritual circumcision of infant boys is barbarous

She stressed that boys who have been ritually circumcised can never remove what she called “a religious marker” if they choose to convert to another religion or have no religious beliefs.

I’m not buying the argument that banning circumcision is a violation of religious freedom, because such freedom must involve being able to choose for themselves.

But she stressed that she was not opposed to circumcision in cases where it was deemed a medical necessity.

However, circumcision based on ritual and religion is actually about holding down a newborn baby boy and cutting off part of a healthy sexual organ, with all the consequences that this might have for an individual’s future health and sex life.

With this in mind, performing a circumcision on religious grounds ought to be made a criminal offence, she added.

Jan Helge Solbakk, a professor of medical ethics at Oslo University, agreed with Klinge’s criticism of the practice.

It represents an irreversible operation on a boy who is not in a position to protect himself, and as such is in breach of basic human rights.

Ervin Kohn, Chairman and Trustee of the Jewish community disagrees, saying a ban would serve as a very strong signal that the Jews are an unwanted minority in the country. He claims that 99 percent of all Jews in the world circumcise their male children.

It is the visible covenant between Abraham and God. It goes directly on religious freedom and that Norway is a tolerant society.

Kohn also points out that research has documented the health benefits of circumcision.
