Andrew Bostom: Iran’s Final Solution for Israel

Persian Shiite anti-Semitism is deep-seated and points to genocide.

By Andrew Bostom

Reza Khalili (pseudonym), a former CIA operative in Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, has reported the latest restatement of the Iranian Shiite theocracy’s Jew-annihilationist jihadism:

Calling Israel a danger to Islam, the conservative website Alef, with ties to Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said the opportunity must not be lost to remove “this corrupting material. It is a ‘jurisprudential justification’ to kill all the Jews and annihilate Israel, and in that, the Islamic government of Iran must take the helm.”

The article, written by Alireza Forghani, an analyst and a strategy specialist in Khamenei’s camp, now is being run on most state-owned sites, including the Revolutionary Guards’ Fars News Agency, showing that the regime endorses this doctrine.

According to reports from the Free Syria Army, the Syrian military has moved forces stationed in the southern part of the Syrian Golan Heights closer to Israel.

The Syrian military did not come close to the border with Israel. However, armored forces that were stationed along the Syria-Jordan border, which were recently reinforced, were moved and are now closer to Israel, according to the report.

The Free Syria Army is the largest opposition group in Syria and is partly made up of defectors from the official Syrian Army.

Israel has been concerned that Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad, whose regime is on the verge of collapse, may try to defuse the uprising against him by starting a conflict with Israel.

A Lebanese newspaper, The People’s Army, claimed Thursday in its news website that the IDF has been making an extra effort in the past few days to place landmines all along its border with Syria.

Hundreds of Israeli soldiers are reportedly working at lining the border with mines. Israel had already placed mines along some stretches of the border with Syria after the Nakba Day events last year, in which hundreds of Syrians broke into Israel virtually unimpeded. The action had been orchestrated by the Syrian government, later reports showed.

UWO students disrupt Jewish event

An event, linked below, is certainly of concern. However there are rumors of a much worse event at Ottawa’s Carleton U concerning a police investigation of a mob threat to some students also related to a pro-Israel event. I will post less vague information about it as I get it. If anyone knows anything please detail in comments and if possible provide links.

H/T to gay and right for the story below

Jewish Tribune

TORONTO – All hell will break loose at the University of Western Ontario if the students who disrupted an Israel On Campus (IOC) event don’t face repercussions, warned a frustrated IOC member.

Aubrey Chapnick, a third year student in the Business Management & Organizational Studies program at UWO, told the Jewish Tribune he was enjoying the non-political Israel Day displays last Wednesday when a large group of anti-Israel activists showed up en masse, without permission, and were allowed by campus police to block access to the event for about an hour. Many of the protesters had duct tape over their mouths and carried signs with anti-Israel messages.

If the rules aren’t enforced, Chapnick warned, “the Jewish community at Western will be in an uproar…. If these individuals and groups aren’t being held to the same standards that every other club is subject to, all hell is going to break out.”

It’s too early to say if the protesters will face any sanctions, according to Elgin Austen, director of campus police at UWO.

Campus police arrived on the scene quickly but did not intervene or make the protesters leave because “it’s better to observe what’s happening, see who’s actually there, and then deal with it,” Elgin Austen, director of campus police at UWO, told the Jewish Tribune. Although “it’s not acceptable for picketers to come in and do that,” direct police interference will only inflame the situation and “create a huge scene.”

Austen assured the Tribune that, “We don’t appreciate what happened and we will be dealing with this in a strategic fashion.”

Beginning this week, Austen said, campus police will meet with students on both sides to collect information, and then “discuss what the strategy should be to not let this happen again.” They will need to “assess the best courses of action…because we haven’t had this kind of situation occur before.” Any disciplinary action that might be taken “will be decided at a later point.”

US experts warn of Israeli attack on Iran

Another day, another dozen conflicting reports on military action vis a vis Iran, Israel, The United States. It is possible but unlikely that anyone can know what Israel or the US will do, when likely they do not know themselves yet.

US experts warn of Israeli attack on Iran

While America says it wants a peaceful resolution to tensions between Israel and Iran, some US experts say an Israeli military attack is possible – this year, in fact. And they are warning of devastating results.

US President Barack Obama had tried to calm tensions between Israel and Iran last Sunday with the words that Tel Aviv, as far as he could see, had yet “to make a decision” as to whether it would strike Tehran militarily. But it failed to stop Iran flexing muscles in a military exercise on its border with Afghanistan over the weekend.

Tehran threatened retribution if Israel were to strike. Many think it will – especially against Iranian nuclear installations.

As so often, it was a newspaper article – this time in the American daily The New York Times – that started the current speculation.

It was an article by Ronan Bergman, a journalist who is considered to be highly connected in Israel.

“After speaking with many senior Israeli leaders and chiefs of the military and the intelligence,” wrote Bergam, “I have come to believe that Israel will indeed strike Iran in 2012.”

Minister Baird visits the Bahá’í World Centre

Haifa, Israel, 6 February 2012 (CBNS) — Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird visited the Bahá’í World Centre in Haifa.

Minister Baird has spoken up many times for the Bahá’í community around the world, including while addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Bahá’ís continue to face persecution in Iran where its leaders are imprisoned on unfounded charges.

Speaking in London about human rights, Minister Baird said, “These abhorrent acts fly in the face of our core principals, our core values. And nowhere is religious intolerance more present than in Iran. Bahá’ís and Christians are consistently threatened with death and torture simply for believing.”

Baird used this latest opportunity to speak with Albert Lincoln, Secretary-General of the Bahá’í International Community, about the importance of religious freedom in emerging democracies and how Canada can continue to be a staunch advocate for these freedoms.

Israeli Defense minister implies a strike on Iran nuclear program is near

Following the geopolitics of Iran, Israel and the USA is a lot like watching ping-pong with multiple balls in play. Rough on the neck. One gets wildly contradictory information from all sides in the same day. Even so, one has to watch.

From Yahoo.com

Tensions between Israel and Iran are on the rise after a group of top Israeli leaders engaged in a round of saber-rattling on Thursday and Iran’s Supreme Leader answered on Friday with a pledge to “remove” Israel.

Speaking at the Herzliya Interdisciplinary Center’s annual conference, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak compared the current standoff with Iran to the “fateful” period before the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, when Israel launched a preemptive strike against Egypt.

At the same conference, Israel’s military intelligence chief, Aviv Kochavi said that Iran had enough nuclear material to make four bombs, and could construct a missile within three years. Strategic Affairs Minister Moshe Yaalon warned that “an unconventional country can’t be allowed to have a nonconventional weapon” and that “a nuclear Iran would be the nightmare of the West.”

Iran nuclear program: 5 key sites

Even though Israeli leaders have been heartened by international sanctions targeting Iran’s nuclear program, which Iran insists is for peaceful purposes only,  the chorus of warnings from Israel reflect growing anxiety among some leaders that Iran may still obtain a nuclear bomb.

“The temperature is rising in Israel,” says Meir Javedanfar, an Iran analyst in Tel Aviv. He says that if the defense minister sees the current period as similar to the run-up to the [1967] Six-Day War, “that gives credibility to those who think Israel is going to launch an attack.”

Israeli strike would be ‘a gift’ for Iran, says dissident

Amid the rising anxiety, an Iranian dissident who lives in exile in the US, came to the Jewish state this week to warn leaders here that a preemptive strike on Iran would be counterproductive.

Danon: Ethiopian murders becoming ‘epidemic’

Knesset study indicates that 30% of domestic crimes are committed by Ethiopian immigrants.

Calling the murder of Ethiopian women by their husbands an epidemic that must be stopped immediately, the chairman of the Knesset Committee for Aliya, Absorption and Diaspora Affairs said Wednesday society must not wait idly for the “next shocking murder” to take place.

MK Danny Danon (Likud), who was speaking at special hearing following the murder- suicide last week’s of Lawaka and Yeshi Amara in Rishon Lezion, received data from the Knesset’s Research and Information Department showing that 30 percent of such domestic crimes occur within the Ethiopian immigrant community.

“We should not be accepting this statistic,” stated Danon, highlighting that there seems to be failure by the authorities in reaching and treating immigrant families that are struggling as they start their new lives in Israel.

Muslim Brotherhood repeats: No talks with Israel

Kinda odd cause I dimly remember Ikhwan saying something like there would be no changes in the peace deal with Israel right before the election in Egypt and the US admin buying it hook, line, sinker, rod, boat, and lake.

From the J-Post:

Spokesman says dialogue with Jewish state ‘not up for discussion.’

Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood categorically rejects dialogue with Israel, the group’s spokesman told an Arabic newspaper in an interview published Wednesday.

Mahmoud Ghazlan told London’s Asharq Alawsat daily that the Islamist group’s position is “clear and not up for discussion.” Ghazlan denied his organization had been contacted by Israel’s embassy in Cairo, and said it would “reject any request from the Israeli embassy to meet with leaders of the Brotherhood.”

Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor told Army Radio on Tuesday that Israel “has not closed the door” to the new government in Cairo and “would be happy to conduct dialogue with anyone prepared to talk with us.” Palmor said he believes Egypt would continue to honor the 1979 peace treaty with Israel, which he said serves the interests of both countries.

Ghazlan flatly rejected the prospect of talks with the Jewish state.

An Open Letter to V-Télé CEO Maxime Rémillard:

From Honest Reporting Canada

V Must Assume Its Responsibilities

From the onset of the recent controversy over Quebec TV host Stéphane Gendron’s comments denying Israel’s right to exist and incitement against Jews, V-Télé’s management has shown little understanding of the inflammatory nature of its host’s statements or willingness to address the problem seriously.

After Gendron claimed Israel made it a habit to “bulldoze” innocent Palestinians, V-Télé merely “reiterated” to the producers of Gendron’s show “the need for the program to adhere to the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council’s guidelines”.

Clearly, Gendron was not impressed. In fact, throughout the Fall season Gendron accused Jews of “invent[ing] terrorism”, “steal[ing] the country from the Palestinians”,  promoting French anti-Semite Dieudonné’s mocking of the Holocaust, and presenting Jews as being contemptuous of non-Jews, “an inferior ” in his own words.

Gendron’s hateful and discriminatory statements culminated in his regret that “unfortunately, Israel has not yet collapsed” and sentence that Israel “does not deserve to exist” broadcast on December 27.

In response to HonestReporting Canada’s criticism, V-Télé affirmed that it would now ensure that “when an issue is discussed, both sides are presented.” According to this logic, would balance be procured if V-Télé’s hosts made hateful and discriminatory statements against Muslims, Arabs, and Palestinians?

Several Israeli embassies have received parcels that contain suspicious white powder

Here is the link to the original French news story, and below, a machine translation into English.

Thank you Baron Bodessey

Monday, January 23, three Israeli embassies in Europe and three consulates in
the United States received envelopes containing “suspicious white powder.”

These envelopes were sent to Israeli Embassy in Brussels, The Hayes and London,
and the consulates in New York, Boston and Houston.

According to information obtained by JSSNews, only the diplomatic mission of
Boston had to be evacuated by the police to secure the premises. At the same
time, all the envelopes have been sent to laboratories to check the danger of
the powder ..

According to the American television SBS, the powder “could be anthrax,” is a
serious “threat to Israeli diplomatic personnel.” While it appears that this
powder is not anthrax, the FBI promised to tighten security of Israeli
representatives in the United States.

The anthrax, or anthrax, is an infection caused by the bacterium Bacillus
anthracis. These bacteria form spores that can survive in soil for many years.
These spores are invisible to the naked eye. In large quantities, they can form
a brown powder which has the appearance of cinnamon or cocoa. Color may vary if
the spores are mixed with another substance. They have no smell. The infection
is spread by spores. After the terrorist attacks of September 11, people in the
United States have received letters or packages containing anthrax spores.

IDF report Jan 22 2012

Overnight, IAF aircraft targeted a weapons manufacturing site in the central Gaza Strip, two terror tunnels in the northern Gaza Strip, and a third terror tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip.

Direct hits were confirmed.

The targeting of these sites was in response to the rockets fired at Israel during the past few days.

The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli civilians, and will operate against anyone who uses terror against the State of Israel. The Hamas terror organization is solely responsible for any terrorist activity emanating from the Gaza Strip.
