More from today’s anti-Israel and antisemitic mass demos in Cairo

And yes antisemitic. The chants of “Khybar Khybar Al Yahud” have exactly nothing to do with Israel but a reminder to Muslims and Jews of how Muslims slaughtered a large number of Jews in the past nowhere near Israel.

At one minute 30 they do a sort of satan-spawned Beatles sort of chant. Kind of like, ‘We hate you yeah yeah yeah’

Lynching: Egyptians take law into own hands

Videos of brutal public executions have become increasingly common in Egypt. Experts say lynching phenomenon could spread to major cities

Egged on by communal acceptance, mob killings of alleged criminals have been spreading across rural areas of Egypt amid a chronic security vacuum and a surging crime rate. These brutal vigilante executions have been on the rise with at least 17 reported since the 2011 revolution.

Sharqiya – the third largest governorate by population, located east of the Nile Delta – is plagued by the most frequent street justice murders. During the last two and a half years, its villages have witnessed over a dozen mob killings.

Australia halts cattle exports to Egypt over ‘cruelty’

Australian cows being exported to Indonesia (June 2011) Australia suspended its live exports to Indonesia in 2011 over cruelty concerns

Australia is suspending the export of live cattle to Egypt after video emerged showing extreme cruelty to animals in Egyptian abattoirs.

The Australian Livestock Exporters’ Council said the footage, released by animal rights group Animals Australia, was “horrific”.

Animals Australia said it had been filmed inside the two abattoirs approved to process Australian cattle.

Exports to Egypt were halted in 2006 for four years over similar concerns.

And in 2011, livestock exports to Indonesia were suspended after evidence of cruelty emerged there.

Egyptians grab ancient land of the pharaohs to bury their dead

Archaeologists fear for pyramid sites as illegal building gathers pace in wake of Arab spring

An archaeologist looks into a fresh tomb

An archaeologist inspects a new cemetery illegally built near the Black Pyramid at Dahshur.

In Manshiet Dahshur, 25 miles south of Cairo, the villagers recently extended the boundaries of the cemetery. For Ahmed Rageb, a carpenter who buried his cousin in the annexe, it was a logical decision. “We want to bury the dead,” he said, strolling through the new cemetery after visiting his cousin’s tomb. “The old cemetery is full. And there is no other place to bury my family.”

There is just one problem. The new tombs are perilously close to some of Egypt‘s oldest: the pyramids of Dahshur, less famous than their larger cousins at Giza, but just as venerable. This is protected land, and no one is supposed to build here – yet more than 1,000 illegal tombs have appeared in the desert since January.

Massive police presence to protect a church and some Christians in Egypt

On the one hand, its good that Egyptian officialdom at some level feels its worth protecting a Christian institution, but on the other hand, the fact that its necessary might negate that slight benefit.

The Muslim Brotherhood however has set out a decree that Jewish temples and Churches are not to be attacked. The people inside them may be killed but not near their houses of worship. Presumably because it creates too much hostility for the muslim managers of ‘interfaith’ organizations across the US which are still more useful to them in terms of islamic manifest destiny than churches are an irritant elsewhere. I will be presenting the evidence of this claim within a few days I expect.

H/T M for this.

No Christians were harmed during the making of this movie. for a change.

Egyptian police fire tear gas to quell crowds after Muslim girl quits town with Christian man

FOX News:

CAIRO –  An Egyptian security official and a priest say police fired tear gas and clashed with a stone-throwing mob of Muslims who had surrounded a Coptic Church in anger over an inter-faith romance.

The Muslim protesters accuse the church of helping to secret away 21-year-old Rana el-Shazli, believed to have converted to Christianity before fleeing her small town with a Coptic Christian man to Turkey.

The alleged romance ignited sectarian tension in Wasta, a rural town in Beni Suef province, about 95 kilometers (60 miles) south of Cairo. Clashes flared anew on Friday after weekly Muslim prayers.

For more than a month, Muslims have attacked churches over the incident and forced Christians to close their shops in the town.

How Egypt’s radical rulers crush the lives and hopes of women

H/T Magic Martin

Guardian:

Women stood shoulder to shoulder with men in Tahrir Square in 2011. Now they are back on the streets, opposing a new constitution that sweeps away their rights and opens the way for girls of 13 to be married. And in Cairo’s slums, life grows harder as the gulf between the sexes widens

The ambush came from the left, from a side street which led up the hill to Mokattam mosque. A rush of hundreds of men running down on the march of anti-government protesters, bringing a sudden clatter of rocks landing all around, the crack of shots fired and the whizz of tear gas canisters. Sticks, stones and metal bars flew through the smoke in both directions and screaming women and men ran back the way they came.

Dozens of manned police vans remained parked a kilometre away. The only sirens came from ambulances that drove through the crowds and past burning vehicles to take some 40 injured people to hospital.

One angry woman with a bleeding mouth and eyes streaming from the tear gas pulled off her headscarf and stood yelling at the other side, the supporters of the ruling Muslim Brotherhood: “You are not Islam! You are not Egypt! Where is my freedom?”

Al Arabiya –

A statement on Tuesday by an Egyptian presidential aide accusing Christian Copts of being the cause of Monday’s clashes near Cairo’s Abbasiya Cathedral has caused public outrage.

Issam al-Hadad, the president’s assistant on foreign affairs, published the statement on Facebook, saying that during a funeral of Christians on Monday, some angry mourners attacked passing cars.

This led some people near the cathedral to open fire and throw rocks, which escalated into an exchange of gunfire, he added.

Egypt suspends tourist flights to Iran after protests

Remember the recent riots by religious Sunnis, ironically, against the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt because they were getting too chummy with the psychos running Iran? It seems the schism remains intact as a result.

Global Post:

Flights from Iran will be halted until mid-June as Egypt re-evaluates decision to allow Shiite Iranian tourists into the majority Sunni nation.

Egypt has decided to suspend flights from Iran until mid-June as it re-evaluates its recent decision to allow tourists from the predominantly Shiite nation to visit largely Sunni Egypt.

The first direct flight between the two nations in decades took off March 30, soon after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad visited Egypt in February — a development that some Egyptians, primarily Sunnis, found distressing.
