Under the guise of letting go of the Christian holidays, this text provides Muslims with a waiver to add Islamic holidays…. Six Belgian senators introduced a draft resolution in the Belgian Parliament that would make “Islamophobia” a crime punishable by fines and imprisonment. A person would be guilty if he “considers Islam to be violent, threatening or supportive of terrorism…” or “considers Islam to be a political ideology, used for political and military purposes to establish it hegemony.” If passed, the law would pose a devastating blow to the exercise of free speech in Belgium.
Wallonia, the French-speaking southern region of Belgium, has officially renamed the four major Christian holidays on the Belgian school calendar with secular names.

The problem with thought, speech and emotion crimes is, they are always selectively enforced. Imagine a group of leftists being arrested and convicted on hate crimes charges for tearing up a copy of Mien Kampf in front of a group of Neo-Nazis. Not gonna happen. Or tearing up Adam Smith’s Wealth of Nations in front of a group of successful people.
Not that they would be bothered. People influenced by genuine ideas tend not to be too too uptight about abuse of the symbols of those ideas by idiots. It is, as any Buddhist will tell you, more damaging to the person who damages the symbols than to the object of their hate. But to muslims all their little items are really fetish objects that they claim to hold sacred, even while hollowing them out to hide stuff in as we see in Guantanamo or burning them if they can foist the crime off on a Christian in Pakistan as an excuse to go kill them etc. but more to the point, muslims insist that we unbelievers hold their holy book sacred and treat it in a reverent fashion even more than they are required to do.
This makes it a fetish but more importantly, a kind of weapon and token of our subjugation. And to find people guilty of a hate crime for tearing one up in front of the people-of-the-perpetually-insulted, well, we are doing their work for them.
It does beg the question though:
‘If I claim out loud to a group of Muslims that I hold the exact same desire for them, the same outcome, the same consequences as they do for me, am I guilty of a hate crime?’
Now there is a leftists dilemma.

In Belgium a man was convicted for ‘racist hate speech’ because he publicly tore up a Koran, before the eyes of a group of Muslims. The case illustrates the need to protect free speech against those seeking to criminalise ‘Islamophobia’.
On 8 June 2012 a man, identified as Arne S., participated in a demonstration organised by a radical right-wing political party, Vlaams Belang (‘Flemish Interest’), opposing the construction of a mosque in the Belgian coastal city of Ostend. In the aftermath of the demonstration S. tore up a Koran in the presence of a small group of Muslims, with whom he had exchanged words. The public prosecutor indicted S. for incitement to hatred, discrimination and violence on the basis of race and ethnic origin.
The defendant’s attorney called for an acquittal, arguing that no infraction on the anti-racism legislation had occurred. The criminal court in Bruges convicted the man, however, on 11 March 2013. Due in part to the unfavourable criminal history of the defendant, the sentence was relatively severe, consisting of an effective prison sentence of four months and a fine of 600 euros. The court held that the facts were serious and testified to “a blatant lack of tolerance and a highly questionable attitude”.

Belgian police kill man suspected of terror links: report

An man of Algerian origin killed by Belgian police in a shoot-out on a motorway Tuesday was suspected of terrorist links, the Belga news agency reported, citing a spokesman for the federal prosecutor.
Belga said the authorities late last year responded to two requests for information about the man from France, suspecting that he belonged to a criminal gang with terrorist ties.
The investigation showed that the man was buying arms and other equipment such as bullet-proof clothing, and had linked him to an armed robbery of a restaurant, Belga said.
It said the authorities decided to arrest the man after receiving information that he was planning an attack.
No details of the incident nor of the man’s alleged terrorist links were given.
A search later of his home in Anderlecht, a suburb of Brussels, revealed arms, ammunition and explosives, plus other equipment which Belga said the police would put on display on Wednesday.
Belgium disgraces itself and democracy as a whole.
Today an article was published in Belgium’s ‘The Standaard’ (sic) revealing that a high level member of a legal and elected political party was actually a “mole” for state security. That is to say, if you are as incredulous as I am to read this, that the government of Belgium deigned to assign a security agent to infiltrate a legitimate political party that represents the will of many people in Belgium, presumably for the purpose of discrediting or defaming it.
It is also possible that they managed to use a legitimate member of Vlaams Belang in the same manner. Either way it speaks exactly the same to the integrity of the Belgian government and its clear and obvious contempt for Parliament and the democratic process as a whole.
If there was such a thing as a world court that had any actual value in terms of defending the democratic process as opposed to upholding the Frankfurt School narrative, then Vlaams Belang should sue for damages and demand an immediate election.

„The zone is populated by an immigrant population who does not think very positively of Jews”, Agnes Bensimon, the spokesperson for the Israeli embassy in Brussels says. This may spell the end of the Maimonides School. The Jewish school registers a continuously decreasing number of pupils. This very year the school may close down. In order to avoid this, a move to another zone is being considered – maybe in the suburban area.
Similar situations can be observed in France and The Netherlands, mainly when Jews are clearly recognizable, for example when wearing a kippa. In this case they would not dare to enter certain zones any more. „Going around with a kippa is dangerous in many European cities”, Rubinfeld said. In august a rabbi was attacked in berlin by youngsters, for example.

As has been noted in the comments under another post, Mohamed used to send out an invitation to the leader of a nation to convert himself and his people to Islam or face dhimmitude or war. This was standard operating procedure, and one of these threat-letters still exists in a museum, I think in the Hagia Sophia, in Turkey as a written document. Let there be no misunderstanding. This ‘invitation’ is almost certainly a way of paving the road for violent jihad in Belgium in accordance with sharia norms.

Innocence of Muslims 2? Belgium alarmed as another controversial film to be released

Belgium has heightened its terror alert level ahead of the release of another highly provocative film exploring Islam, reportedly made in cooperation with the notorious Koran-burning US pastor Terry Jones.
The film’s creator is Pakistan national Imran Firasat, a former Muslim who now lives in Spain. Firasat said he aims to expose the truth of the life of the Prophet Muhammad with ‘The Innocent Prophet: Life of Muhammad from the Point of View of an Ex-Muslim.’
“If we want to know the truth of Islam, we must go deep into the life of Muhammad to find out whether he was a genuine profit sent by God or was he simply a child molester, assassin and a self-proclaimed prophet,” he said in the film’s trailer.
Firasat also hailed pastor Terry Jones as his inspiration. Jones wrote on his website, “It is our hope and desire that we can present a picture of Muhammad that has possibly not been revealed in the past, that will help people in the Western world, and even Muslims, to better understand this person called Muhammad, his life and teachings.”
Jones is infamous for his incendiary anti-Islam speeches, and for staging a ‘Koran-burning day’ on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
