Georges Dallemagne, MP of the CdH (Centre démocrate humaniste, Belgium), tried to come into contact with the mother of Shaun, one of the 2 Belge known to have died in Syria. He died on March 16th. In vain. In Shaun’s area, 5 youth left for Syria wihout any combat experience.

« What is interesting, is that one of the mothers of the 5 youth who went to fight in Syria, says that they went to a youth centre that she describes as being an islamist youth centre, near Shariah4Belgium. And there is also a mosque and a kindergarten for muslims, that equally proselytizes », explains M. Dallemagne.

Intimidation in front of the mosque

In front the mosque, that presents itself as a cultural centre, cameras are not welcome. Our journalists and cameramen are receiving veiled threats: you are going to really upset the people. There are some people who will mistreat you. » The police confirm worrisome characters in the mosque.  The comings and goings show that the most radical ones wear the salafist outfit. One of them accepted to speak about Shaun : « Yes, unfortunately he is dead. I barely knew him. »

Muslim Executive (of Belgium) is not doing his job

Claude Moniquet, terrorism expert, gives his point of view: “We’ve made many efforts, but besides that, there are things that have escaped us. First of all, there are rules. You can‘t close a mosque.  And you cannot prevent people from getting together and talking. In other ways, the head of muslims of Belgium, is clearly not doing his job.”

  1. Brussels is now 25% Muslim. I think it’s the highest percentage of any capital in Europe.

  2. “one died in Syria, the others are still fighting there”

Let’s hope they die there as well.
