C. also read an open letter from a cop who was on duty in the west of Amsterdam, a muslim area. He reports seeing burning vehicles, a house fire (firworks shot through an open window), burning trash-cans and underground recycling stations. Bus-stops and facade of a shop blown up with improvised explosives. Flares aimed at, and improvised explosives thrown at the patrol car, and at passing cyclists. People running around with jerrycans, looking for an opportunity to set christmas trees on fire.
Playground set on fire, backup had to be called in and a human chain of officers had to be formed to keep the “locals” from interfering and attacking firemen.
The fire dept was overburdened and refused to come and put out isolated car fires, they were too busy with fires that posed a risk to surrounding houses and vehicles.

German Police Shoot Sword Wielding Man to Death in Front of His Mother
A man was shot to death by German police after he went on a rampage, crashing a car and threatening officers with a sword.
Police in Germany said that they killed a 32-year-old man — in front of his 69-year-old mother who had been a passenger — in the Southern city of Stuttgart. The man, who was believed to be suffering from mental illness, was shot multiple times after threatening police with a 70-centimetre (2’4?) sword.
The police were called to the scene on Saturday following reports of a man recklessly driving down the wrong side on a roundabout, before crashing his car head-on into an advertising sign, with his mother riding in the passenger seat.
Police tried to subdue the man with pepper spray but he was undeterred and continued to threaten and move towards the police officers with his sword. Officers opened fire and the suspect later died in hospital of his injuries, reports Deutsche Welle.

The second suspect has Italian citizenship. The main suspect was born in Germany, but has Lebanese, Turkish and German citizenship.
“According to the police, there was a verbal dispute with the group of seven. One of the youths hit the 49-year-old’s head, and he fell. The exact cause of death was initially unclear. The 50-year-old companion of the victim was hit in the face, the two women remained physically unharmed. The wife of the victim was unable to be questioned due to her traumatisation.”
