Iran is warning Israel that its citizens should flee the Middle East or face annihilation.
The chief commander of Iran’s Basiji forces, Brig. Gen. Mohammad-Reza Naghdi, recently stated that Iran has no option but to destroy Israel. Ratcheting up the war of words, Naghdi is now threatening Israelis in the “occupied lands” that they are surrounded by mujahedeen of Islam bent on their destruction.
“I quote our supreme leader, Imam Khamenei, who clearly stated during the recent gathering of the leadership’s elite that Zionists are now encircled by those who are willing to wage jihad for Islam, and that those concerned for their safety and well-being should quickly go back to the countries they left behind,” Naghdi told the Fars News agency, the media outlet for the Revolutionary Guards.
When asked by the Fars News reporter about what he called empty threats by the Zionist government against Muslims, Naghdi responded: “(Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu and the Zionists don’t even have the capability to keep the Hamas mujahedeen in check, let alone take it upon themselves to devise plans and plots for Muslims elsewhere. TORONTO — Aline Ajami’s nightmare began when a stranger appeared at the Toronto apartment where she lived with her parents. He said his name was Kamal Ghandour and that he was connected to the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.
There was a problem, he said.
Ms. Ajami’s uncle owed him money. As a result, the uncle was being held hostage by Mr. Ghandour’s associates in south Lebanon. He would be killed, Mr. Ghandour warned, unless Ms. Ajami did exactly what she was told.
That encounter in February 2008 was the start of what an Ontario judge, in language more reminiscent of a book jacket than a legal ruling, would call a “strange and harrowing tale of international intrigue” involving “gangsters with known ties to terrorists.”
The remarkable case has so far gone unreported, but the National Post has pieced the story together for the first time from documents and interviews. It suggests that the Iranian-backed Hezbollah is linked to a fraud and extortion racket in southern Ontario.

Thank you for the opportunity to appear before you today to discuss the Hezbollah terrorist organization, its capabilities, and its activities in the Western Hemisphere. It is an issue of critical importance to the ongoing struggle against international terrorism, and to the safety and security of the U.S. homeland.
A year after the 9/11 attacks, then-Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage, in contextualizing the terrorist threat facing the country, made a telling assessment. “Hezbollah may be the A-team of terrorists,” Mr. Armitage told an audience at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, DC, “and maybe al-Qaida is actually the B-team.”[i] The description was apt, and remains so. With a presence in an estimated forty countries on five different continents, the Lebanese Shi’ite militia represents one of the very few terrorist groups active today that possess a truly global presence and reach.
This footprint extends not only to the greater Middle East and Europe, but to the Western Hemisphere as well.[ii] Over the past quarter-century, Hezbollah has devoted considerable energy and resources to establishing an extensive network of operations throughout the Americas. Today, its web of activity in our hemisphere stretches from Canada to Argentina, and encompasses a wide range of illicit activities and criminal enterprises, from drug trafficking to recruitment to fundraising and training.

Cell seeks to avenge assassination of Imad Mughniyeh; attack could target Israelis in immediate future, security sources warn.
Hezbollah is planning a terrorist attack against Israelis abroad within days, security sources warned on Thursday night.
The warning of the imminent attack did not mention specific locations. It was issued as many Israelis were abroad for the weeklong Pessah holiday.
Security is being stepped up at potential Jewish and Israeli targets overseas, the sources said.
They named Hezbollah operative Talal Hamia as the commander of a small but well-organized overseas unit that had been tasked by the Lebanese terrorist organization with carrying out the attack.
Hamia is alleged to have been involved in the 1992 and 1994 bombings in Buenos Aires that targeted the Israeli Embassy and the main Jewish community building.
Hezbollah has been seeking to avenge the assassination of its field commander, Imad Mughniyeh, in Damascus in 2008.
Ever since Mughniyeh was killed, Hezbollah has repeatedly vowed revenge and has reportedly tried to carry out revenge attacks several times. The group’s plans to stage powerful and painful attacks have been thwarted by security services worldwide, including in Azerbaijan, Thailand and Sinai in 2008, and in Turkey in 2009, according to foreign reports.
Hamia has replaced Mughniyeh as field commander since the assassination, and answers directly to Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, as well as to Gen. Kassem Suleimani, commander of the al-Quds Division of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which assists in the organization of terrorism outside the Islamic Republic’s borders.
Channel 10 reported that Hamia was working closely with his right-hand man and bodyguard, Ahmed Faid.
Hezbollah’s operational command structure is overseeing the group’s technical department, led by explosives engineer Ali Najam al-Din and bomb assembly expert Malik Ovayad, who reportedly prepared the device used in the 1992 bombing of the embassy in Argentina. Ovayad uses the alias of an air conditioner repairman.
Majd al-Zakur, known as “the forger,” is responsible for preparing fake passports used by terrorist cell members, security sources said.
The cell is aided by businessmen, among them a Lebanese cellphone salesman and a Turkish national.
Failed plots have been reported in the past in Jordan, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Thailand and Sinai. In 2009, two Hezbollah members and four Azeri collaborators were accused of plotting a multiple car bomb attack on Israel’s Embassy in Baku.
In February, the Counter-Terrorism Bureau warned against traveling to Egypt, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, the Ivory Coast, Mali, Mauritania and Venezuela.
The advisory warned against traveling to these locations and to refrain from being in places with large groups of Israelis.
Report: Hamas, Hezbollah operatives in Brazil are planning attacks abroad

Operatives from Hamas, Hezbollah, and al Qaida are in Brazil planning attacks, raising money and recruiting followers, a leading Brazilian news magazine reported on Saturday.
The report renews prior concerns about the nation serving as a hide-out for Islamic militants.
Veja magazine, in its online edition, reported that at least 20 people affiliated with al Qaida as well as the Lebanese Shi’ite Muslim group Hezbollah, the Palestinian group Hamas and two other organizations have been hiding out in the South American country.
The magazine said these operatives have been raising money and working to incite attacks abroad. The magazine cited Brazilian police and U.S. government reports, but did not give details on specific targets or operations.
The United States has said Islamic militants have been operating in the border region between Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina. Brazil has denied this, while saying it is aware that some members of Brazil’s Lebanese community legally transferred funds to the Middle East. Continue Reading →

Iranian vessels which crossed Suez Canal carry “advanced Hezbollah weapons” — Israel

GAZA, Feb 22 (KUNA) — The two Iranian naval ships which crossed the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean Tuesday morning are carrying “advanced Hezbollah weapons,” Maariv Israeli paper reported on Wednesday, citing sources.
The sources told the paper, “Estimates indicate the two ships are carrying missiles of different range, rifles, ammunition, and night-vision gear… The voyage of the two ships is an Iranian attempt to go around the arms embargo on Hezbollah.” The paper also said that it is believed the voyage is an attempt on the part of the Iranians to “test the waters” with and gauge the responses of the Egyptian Supreme Military Council and its stance towards Tehran.
Israel had yesterday stressed it was keeping close eye on the progress of the vessels, knew their location precisely, and kept close contact with US officials to exchange views and assess the situation.
Israeli Premier Benyamin Netanyahu had earlier on Monday said Iran was trying to take advantage of the region’s instability to expand its influence.

TRIPOLI – More than 500 people gathered on Monday in Lebanon’s northern city of Tripoli to denounce the impending appointment of Hezbollah-backed candidate Najib Mikati as prime minister.
Supporters of acting Prime Minister Saad Hariri, whose government collapsed earlier this month, gathered in a town square chanting “Out with Najib!” and “Hezbollah, party of the devil!” as gunshots were heard in the area.
The demonstrators vowed they would return in force on Tuesday at the urging of local Sunni Muslim sheikhs.
The billionaire Mikati, a native of Tripoli, was tipped to replace Saudi-backed Hariri after Hezbollah and its allies named him on Monday as their candidate for the premiership.
Hariri, a popular Sunni leader, has said he would not take part in a government headed by a candidate chosen by the Shiite militant group.

Hezbollah and allies to topple Lebanon government: report
(Reuters) – Ministers from Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement and its political allies will resign on Wednesday, forcing the collapse of Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri’s government, a senior political source said.
“The resignation statement has been written and will be announced at 4.30pm (7:30 a.m. EST),” he said. Eleven ministers would resign, enough to automatically bring the government down, added the source, who asked not to be named.
Lebanese politicians on Tuesday said Saudi Arabia and Syria had failed to forge a deal to curb political tensions in Lebanon over a U.N.-backed tribunal set up to try the killers of Hariri’s father, former premier Rafik al-Hariri.
Disagreements over the investigation had paralysed the “unity” government and revived fears of sectarian conflict.
Hezbollah has denied any involvement in the 2005 bombing which killed Rafik Hariri and 22 others. It has denounced the tribunal as an “Israeli project” and urged Saad al-Hariri to reject its findings — a demand he has resisted.
