Artists the left and Islam.

[poll id=”7″]I have written on this topic before but I really think the severity and depth of this issue is not taken seriously enough. Especially by the nice people. You must know who I mean, the people who feel the kindest possible attitude is one of equality of all ideas, open mindedness and ruthless opposition to people who would diminish the stature and value of any group at all.

I wish I could afford to be one of those people again and someday I hope to be. For the moment there are more serious issues to deal with. The nice people, nearly all of whom allies itself with the political left and who have managed to convince us all that this is the only place where kindness manifests itself seem blissfully unaware that Islam will as soon as it has enough population and influence destroy every aspect of our culture which this same kinder gentler left holds sacred.

I had the privilege of meeting an ex-pat Iranian film maker some weeks ago who has made a number of documentaries about post revolutionary Iran. Lili Gobi now residing in Canada made the short film ‘The Forbidden Sun Dance’ a documentary about how days after the left unwittingly helped the Islamic regime install itself in Iran after deposing the Shaw, found over one hundred thousand of their numbers murdered and others sent into exile. To be clear, it was a student revolution in Iran which overthrew the Shaw. They imagined they where going for more freedom not less. Few of them had any idea what an ‘Islamic state’ meant. Once the Ayatollah was installed as the power in Iran he began to crack down on all who had helped him achieve power, the ‘useful idiots’ on the left.

This of course is not the exception its the rule. People so often rebel against a mouse in the kitchen by letting in a family of rats. This was the case in Germany and Russia of course.

Now we see in Pakistan renewed attempts to impose a sharia like state with respect to women and the performing arts.

Ottawa man sentanced to 6 months for years of wife beating.

Read this carefully. See if you can find a motive for the man. It seems as if he beat his wife the day after she gave birth to a girl. Could this be because of the common Muslim beliefe that its the woman who decides the sex of the child and she gave him two daughters?

OTTAWA — A man convicted of repeatedly beating his wife, including the day after she gave birth to their second child, has been sentenced to six months in jail.

Ahmed Abada, 32, showed no emotion as he was taken into custody Friday after Ontario Court Justice Dianne Nicholas ruled that imprisoning the man was the only way to “sufficiently denounce his repeated pattern of abuse.”

Mr. Abada was found guilty in April of one count of assault causing bodily harm, three counts of assault, and one count of uttering death threats.

During his trial, his wife, a devout Muslim, testified she repeatedly returned to Mr. Abada despite the abuse he inflicted on her because she believed the Koran gave permission for a husband to beat his wife. She also feared that she would lose custody of their children if she went to police.

“These offences are extremely serious and show a significant pattern of dominance and control of this offender over his spouse,” said Judge Nicholas. “The complainant describes him as controlling, and the evidence before me is appalling in terms of the subjugation of this woman.”

Court heard that the assaults occurred over a 13-month period starting in December 2005, following the birth of their first child, and continued until January 2007, when the woman called police.

IRBIL, Iraq – Hawjin Hama Rashid, a feisty journalist in bluejeans and a frilly blouse, had come to the morgue in this Kurdish city to research tribal killings of women. “A week doesn’t pass without at least 10,” the morgue director said, showing Rashid pictures of corpses on his computer screen.

First, a bloated, pummeled face.

Next, a red, shapeless, charred body. “Raped, then burned,” the director said.

Then, another face, eyes half-closed, stab wounds below her neck.

Rashid leaned closer to the screen.

It was the bloody corpse of her best friend, Begard Hussein. Hussein had complained to police about her ex-husband, who had threatened to kill her if she refused to annul their divorce. Rashid had wanted to publish a photograph of her friend’s body after she was killed in April, but officials said none existed. “They lied to me,” Rashid said as she left the morgue, her sorrow fusing with anger.

‘Women are being strangled’
From the southern port city of Basra to bustling Irbil in northern Iraq, Iraqi activists are trying to counter the rising influence of religious fundamentalists and tribal chieftains who have insisted that women wear the veil, prevented girls from receiving education and sanctioned killings of women accused of besmirching their family’s honor.

In their quest for stability in Iraq, U.S. officials have empowered tribal and religious leaders, Sunni and Shiite, who reject the secularism that Saddam Hussein once largely maintained. These leaders have imposed strict interpretations of Islam and enforced tribal codes that female activists say limit their freedom and encourage violence against them.

An article about Carleton U. by an Iranian journalist and documentary film maker.

I had the great good fortune to meet Lila Gobi this week. A brilliant and insightful women from Iran who has made it her life’s work to document the effects of Islam in Iran on women’s rights and human rights in general as well as Islam’s effects around the world.

She wrote this op ed piece concerning the effects on Carleton University in Ottawa Canada by its Islamic students and organizations. I post her article here in full as a stand alone piece but taken in the larger picture of Carleton radio CKCU cutting off the show by Emrys Graefe and James Cohen because it spoke in ways that where in opposition to Sharia law as well as the recent debacle at Carleton of CUSA ending its support of a charity because the disease effects mostly ‘European white males’ I think this article is part of a larger tapestry that should be cause for alarm.

My friends and I were not fasting, hiding in our car in a quiet neighborhood close to our university and having our lunch before going to an afternoon class. We tried to be careful not to attract attention. Suddenly somebody started banging the car’s window – it was a huge, scary Islamic Police officer who had caught us eating:
“ Eating in public during holy Ramadan? Pagan bitches…get out of the car! You’re going to get lashed to death for not obeying Allah’s laws…”
We knew how to deal with this unpleasant accident – some compliments on his muscular body, some money, fooling him by asking for his phone number in order to set a date for next weekend, and ran while we kept calling him a jerk. Of course, not everyone is so lucky to escape misery so easily in Iran where you can easily get lashed for not following Islamic law – women are still being stoned to death there for having sex outside of marriage.
As an Iranian woman who grew up under a fanatic Islamic regime (which seized power after killing a hundred thousand students and political activists fighting for democracy), I still have nightmares about being a woman in a religious environment where survival demanded that you pretend to be a good Muslim and follow the regime’s version of Islam I was forced to cover myself when I was 6 years old – even during the dog days of summer. I could hardly keep it on my head a whole day. Of course, my parents had no choice but to force me to wear it for my own safety and theirs. The risk of punishment was all to real, and all my non-Muslim friends were forced to cover themselves and read the Qur’an at school.
The Islamic rules were enforced most heavily during Ramadan when it was forbidden to eat or drink in public during daylight hours and all restaurants were closed. People who didn’t follow the Islamic laws and were caught for eating or drinking in public would be subject to the harshest punishments. Most of the people I knew among family and friends in Iran never fasted nor celebrated Eid at the end of Ramadan Muslims do in most Arabic or non-Arabic Islamic countries. Why? Because many Iranians outside of the regime never accepted Islamic culture as their own and were always fiercely proud of their ancient Persian heritage, a rich, complex and deeply-civilized culture that still lives and breathes and sings even though Islam was forced on Persia some 1400 years ago.
My recollection of Iran is a mosaic of nightmares of getting in trouble due to the harsh application of Islamic rules. I wanted to escape from the hell created by the Mullahs (Iranian spiritual-political leaders) to somewhere where religion and government were kept separate – where relationships between people and their God (if ones believes) is a part of private life and not publicly enforced; where there is respect for the dignity of human beings and personal choices; where and nobody has permission to force anybody else to heaven or coerce religious observance. I longed for a place that could be a new home where my neighbors would not have the right to ask about my religious background, a place where I could live freely without being scared of being punished for showing my beautiful hair, talking about love or drinking water in public during Ramadan.
Could this place be Canada, the country where I ended up as a refugee seeking escape from the fundamentalist Islamic regime in my country?

Everywhere I go, someone is talking about Ramadan. Some students suggest classes be cancelled after 6 p.m. Others want to postpone mid-term exams or the deadline for papers until after Ramadan is over. We have a cocktail party, and a student asks us not to bring non-Halal meat or pork. Another suggests not having lunch in front of people who might be fasting. Some Carleton University Students Association posters are torn down because they promoted safe sex in the Holy Month of Ramadan, which might have posed a problem for male students who were fasting (what about the female students?) Some students argued that women shouldn’t wear what they considered to be “sexy” clothing because it is a sin for Muslim men to look at sexually stimulating images while they are fasting.
All this scared the hell out of me. To where had I escaped? What happened to the pluralism and respect for personal choice that Canada is known for?
Compared to some other universities in Canada (i.e. McGill) which openly and unequivocally adopt secular values, Carleton allows religious groups more influence than is acceptable in the pluralistic, tolerant environment that a university should be. In a Canadian university that should be inclusive and tolerant, those of us who are not Muslim should not have Ramadan and all it entails forced upon us. As a woman who has endured, witnessed and documented some of the most extreme forms of misogyny, all justified in the name of Islam, I am troubled to see Ramadan arrive at Carleton University, bringing with it attempts by some students to restrict others’ rights – particularly those of women. Fasting is a personal choice. Those who believe doing fasting will help them grow personally are free to do it. But they have no right to force it on others. People of many religions practice fasting – Jews, Christians, Bahai;Hindus – but they do not all make it a public affair or force it on others.
At Carleton University some Muslim students need to accept that many student do not share their beliefs. The practice of Islam should not and does not require others to modify their behaviour to suit Muslims. Religion is a private matter, and many religions that have historically been dogmatic and intolerant have learned to co-exist peacefully and respectfully in Canada. That’s why Islam, as much as any other religion, is welcome here. So enjoy your freedom to be a Muslim. But don’t force it on me, and respect the rights of others to practice what they believe. If we yield to religious fanatics we will have lost our basic rights as human beings and Carleton will have become everything that a university should not be.

A series of articles about the UK. What has happened to our Mother Britain?

Here are some tragic examples of utter cultural suicide. From the seemingly innocuous such as the renaming of some British pubs, some of which are centuries old so as not to offend their new Muslim overlords to the stripping of rights hard won over centuries of sacrifice in blood against tyranny.

First, a truly unbelievable bit of news brought to us by the Opinionator.

“There is an ongoing, concerted and documented History of Jihad against British customs and people laying the foundation for Eurabia. Even patriotic parades and bingo halls have fallen under the cutting blade of political correctness that is intent on wiping out any semblence of the indigenous British culture and cohesiveness.”

This is more serious than it appears. This is part of Islam’s war on history itself. In parts of Israel which are ruled by Muslims there are archaeological digs taking place where all artifacts recovered are destroyed in order to eliminate evidence that Jews where ever there. Islam using ‘offense’ to try and change British culture is no different as the destruction of Christian symbols in a recently discovered 4th century church in Saudi Arabia.

This is one of the fronts of Jihad. terror being one, finance another as in sharia banking and cultural jihad where political correctness is used to change any aspects of a host culture which is claimed to be offensive to Islam. This ends up in essence enforcing Sharia law on all nations where a minority of Muslims wield enough influence.

Then, as previously posted on Vlad, we have the dramatic rise of forced marriages in the UK by Muslim families contracting their daughters to marriages often to first cousins back in the home country and through family reunification programs we see a growing influence of rural fundamentalist Muslims coming in to the UK and exacerbating the problem but equally important is the diminishing principle of personhood of women in England.

A 21st birthday party was disrupted by ‘Asians’ (Brit speak for Muslims) wielding machetes. Birthday parties are haram (forbidden) in Islam.

A TWENTY FIRST birthday party at Nelson Cricket Club ended in three people needing hospital treatment after a group of uninvited men of Asian-heritage appearance turned up with weapons.

Two men were arrested and later released on police bail following the disturbance at the Seedhill club at 11 p.m. on Friday. Snooker cues were recovered by police and witnesses reported seeing a machete at the scene.

One man from the 100-guest party sustained nasty cuts to the head that required stitches, another had a suspected broken hand and a third suffered bruising.

There have been many stories about Islamic indoctrination of school kids across Europe. Of course we tend to notice the ones that meet two conditions. 1. the story is in English, so we mostly see stuff about English speaking nations and 2. stories where the mass media is actually allowed to publish. This piece is no exception so of course its a fluff bit making it look charming and like a field trip to some National Geographic cultural zoo. I dare these schools who send kids to Mosques to be Islamasized bring an adult or two to ask the important question about the faith and its customs instead of throwing candy at them.

UK experiences dramatic increase in forced marriages.

Forced marriage cases up by 80pc this year as investigators find parents using ‘bounty hunters’

The number of forced marriages being investigated in Britain has risen by 80 per cent this year with parents using “bounty hunters” and bogus missing persons campaigns in a desperate bid to track down runaway children and make them wed.

A special Government unit dedicated to stopping teenagers being married off by their families dealt with 300 cases in the first half of this year, up from 168 in the same period of 2007.

But the head of the Forced Marriage Unit, based at the Foreign Office, fears this could be just the tip of the iceberg as many victims are too scared to come forward and communities often close up to hide what is going on.

Wayne Ives also warned that heads of families are going to extreme lengths to get their children to marry, in some instances posing as officials to kidnap runaway brides or paying people to track them down.

His comments came as a new law comes into effect next week, which will make it easier for courts to stop ceremonies going ahead if it is feared that the bride and groom are being married against their wills.

A separate law will see the minimum age at which foreigners can come to Britain to get married being increased.

Despite the drive to tackle forced marriages, however, many feel it is still taboo because of fears of criticising immigrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh, who are involved in most cases.

Schools have refused to discuss so-called honour crimes in case they cause offence to ethnic minorities or religions, while MPs have been accused of failing to highlight forced marriage in case they lose Muslim votes.

In a recent speech to a Capita conference, Mr Ives told delegates: “We are talking about endemic abuse of the worst kind against young men and women which is happening right here and right now.”

The cowardice & misogyny of Islamic extremism

In mid November two men on a motorcycle tossed acid in the faces of young Afghani girls walking to school in Khandar as punishment for wanting to be educated. The group of schoolgirls some as young as fourteen, have all been disfigured for life with two permanently blinded. All of their mothers insist they will not allow their daughters to continue their schooling for fear they will be either maimed again, or eventually murdered for the offence.

George Petrolekas and Mike Capstick write in an editorial in today’s Ottawa Citizen:

” And as punishment, at least two of those girls will never see the light of day again; their friends and countless hundreds of other little girls equally condemned to a lesser life as the very fear of venturing outside their homes denies them a future as surely as the acid in the eyes has accomplished. And to that end, it is no different than the torching of schools, the beheading of teachers and the intimidation of parents”.

I predict that this recent example of human depravity will sink to the bottom of our collective conscience like the many other countless examples of terrorism have found themselves. Worse, it will provide one more opportunity for the apologizers of terror to which there are many, to spin their usual, pap and nonsense. Common catch phrases such as ‘root cause’, ‘ cultural misunderstanding’, the ‘resistance to western influence’, ‘religious hijacking’ or ‘religious misinterpretation” will all surface by the usual suspects to explain away the revolting and bizarre tactics of those who would impose horror at every turn, every day, against innocents. For those who work diligently to convince the world community turn a blind eye to the insufferable inhumane treatment of these girls and who would deny the Islamic religious component of these atrocities, the media will once again be labelled as an ‘islamophobic, Zionist institution with a never ending anti-Islam bent’. Blah, blah, blah.

What sheer and utter nonsense.

To entertain this piety is to abandon the clear plight of women and girls in Afghanistan and to condone the oppressive and suffocating lives these women are forced to endure. While fomenting imams in North American and European mosques spew their transplanted misogynist rhetoric with near carte blanche ease, many Western politicians work over time to bastardize long established Western values to accommodate these extremist, retrograde views that continue to deny women lives of dignity, freedom and the right to fulfill their full potential as equal human beings. Misogyny is an undeniable constant in much of the Middle East. While all this dialogue dithering, religious sentimentality and cultural tolerance is hashed out across America and Europe, these Afghan mothers and daughters must surely feel an overwhelming sense of abandonment.  

I cannot understand the passive response, excuses and warped justifications made in reference to such incidents, especially by many western women’s rights groups. Is gender equality a quality of life notion which should only be guaranteed for western women? Why do these medieval tyrants deserve an ounce of consideration or their backers access to fair dialogue? How many western mothers would be willing to barter the well being of their own daughters away for cultural, religious sentiment? Zero? All?

Messrs. Petrolekas and Capstick continue: “this day, girls won’t go to school for fear, not because they don’t belong there, but because misogynist terrorists have made the decision for them”. ‘For the sake of another generation we must not forget these girls, as their unseeing eyes exhort us to do more; we cannot let our own granddaughters conclude that we stood about and did nothing’.

School girls burned with acid: Islam’s answer to higher education

There is nothing more threatening to an Islamist than an educated woman. Yesterday a group of young teenaged school girls had acid sprayed in their faces by two men in the western outskirts of Khandahar City. It is no secret that adherents and proponents of fundamentalist Islam work diligently to deny girls education, with the exception of course, of an approved and monitored knowledge in the rules of obedience and subservience.

Islamic law has always held women as second class citizens with fatwas issued on a regular basis to ensure this subservient class remains intact. Sharia is an insurance policy on behalf of men that maintains male superiority resulting in ongoing discrimination and oppression of women; the basic tenets of misogynistic control, insecurity, fear, mass ignorance and a relentless adhesion to power.

Recently I came across an article from Kurdistan where the government legislature has revised it’s polygamy laws at the request of women’s rights groups concerned with the many resulting dysfunctional family patterns and the psychological abuse of mothers and children living in such marital arrangements. Although the abolishment of polygamy was not granted altogether, the new law states that a man may take only two wives, contrary to the past law which entitled him to three or four. Women’s groups realizing that their call for total abolishment was not successful, conceded that it was in fact a step forward and remain determined to pressure the government to do away with the practice of polygamy altogether. The comment section illustrates the resistance to change with many commentators, mainly men, charging “blasphemy!” and an infiltration of “the evils of western feminism!”.

Canadian Kohail sentenced to beheading in Saudi Arabia. Should Canada intervene?

Twenty three year old Canadian Mohamed Kohail has been found guilty of murder while in Saudi Arabia and faces execution by beheading. His death is imminent and he will likely die for his crime within the coming weeks.

Kohail grew up in Saudi Arabia but moved to Montreal when he was a teenager. He, along with his family moved back to Saudi Arabia temporarily to attend a wedding intending to return to Canada where they own a home. While there, he (Kohail) became involved in a brawl after his brother Sultan, 16, called for his help at a local school where a group of youths armed with knives and clubs accused him of insulting a girl. Mohamed involved himself in the fight intending to defend his brother and after the bloody episode had ended, Syrian Haraki died.

The Kohail brothers were immediately arrested and taken to a prison in Jeddah. Friends and family allege that Kohail was the victim of an unfair investigation and trial. One family friend claims the court ignored important evidence that would have cleared Kohail of the charge against him. Other sources assert that the young man’s lawyers were repeadedly denied access to the courtroom.

Canadian politicians, human rights groups and government agencies are pressing hard to save Mohamed kohail’s life. Amnesty International has since sent a letter addressed to the Saudi ambassador to Canada urging him to intervene in the case, citing very serious concerns regarding the legal process to which the defendant was subjected. The Saudi embassy in Ottawa has not, as of yet, commented.

What is pointedly missing in this case is the lack of concern by Canadian Muslim organizations regarding the alleged mistreatment of Mr. Kohail at Saudi hands and his impeding execution. Certainly one would think that high profile Islamic groups such as CAIR-CAN, the Canadian Arab Federation and the Canadian Islamic Congress, all proponents of fair justice and the improvement in the quality of life for Muslim Canadians here and abroad, would have weighed in on this situation.

Yet none of their sites even mention the Kohail case.

Where are the denouncements and calls for ‘action’ on behalf of a fellow Muslim Canadian? Where are the letters of concern, the protests outside the Saudi embassy and the plethora of media communiques sent to major newspapers? Where are the calls aimed at Saudi officials requesting an investigation into the matter and calling for clemency? Where are the requests asking that Mr. Kohail be returned to Canada? Where are the numerous essays, columns and articles criticizing the Saudi government? Why is there no pressure put upon the Harper government to intervene in this case and repatriate Mr. Kohail by these organizations? And, where is the support for his family in this ordeal?

I have read nothing…….nothing.

Perhaps the answer lies in the fact that these groups are simply not concerned with the welfare of a Muslim Canadian such as Mohamed Kohail at all, preferring to concentrate their rabid obsession with asking the Canadian government to repatriate terrorists such as Omar Khadr. Or likely, time spent deeming themselves official intervenors calling for follow-up action on the recent Iacobucci report demanding that Canada apologize and compensate Abdullah Almalki, Ahmed Abon-Elmatti and Muyayyed Nureddin for alleged torture they suffered in Egypt and Syria.

Or maybe they are too busy to help Kohail, finding themselves consumed by their tremendous effort to monitor the alarming rise of Islampohobia in Canada accompanied by vigorous attempts to rid Canadian society of legitimate criticism of Islam via censorship through human rights commission complaints and prosecuting and ridiculing journalists and a Canadian free press. Or maybe they are too bogged down by hours spent constantly involved in heavy lobbying to defend and secure the implementation of sharia law in Canada? 

I believe the neglect of Mohammed Kohail’s case indicates the simplicity of a brotherhood bond with Saudi whabbist principle, a twisted ideology that finds moral acceptability amongst the Islamists in Canada. What is there to rail against when one agrees?

Thirteen year old rape victim Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow was stoned to death for adultery on October 27 by a group of fifty men in a stadium in Kismayu, Somalia while 1,000 spectators looked on. Again, nothing denouncing this human tragedy appeared on any of these ‘moderate,’ peace-pushing, justice-for-all sites.

Why the silence?

Is this a tacit agreement in ideology?

Are these the kinds of legitimate questions that are more often than not considered blasphemous and Islampohobic to an extremist Muslim mindset where the priority of offense is to religious sensibility and replaces the collective moral outrage of the murder of a 13 year old rape victim?

I must be misinformed by a lying and ignorant world media reporting these horrors, as I am told repeatedly that Islam treats women, Muslims and all people with equality and dignity. The real bastards of such women’s oppression apparently are Western nations, as I’ve learned from reading an insightful essay entitled the liberation of women on the Canadian Islamic Congress website written by Mr. Canadian Peace and Justice himself Dr. Elmasry. 

I do believe that Canada should intervene on behalf of Mohamed Kohail. I also believe that Canadians need to work far harder to show strong objection to the moral depravity of a Saudi social, cultural and legal system and to shame others like it, that continue to perpetuate such brutality, bigotry and backwardness. I also believe that countries which deploy the systematic and regular murder of rape victims accused of the crime of adultery should be criticized internationally as rogue establishments, unworthy of respect. Any group which supports, justifies, condones or excuses such extremism either openly or by silent applause should be condemned and ridiculed.

While Canadian Kohail awaits his execution and Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow lays dead, Islamism in it’s most perverse and hypocritical state continues in Canada.

Child Brides, Afghanistan, the CIC and Mohamed El Masry

In this heartbreaking slide show from World Vision, you get a clear idea about how bad conditions are for women in Afghanistan and thats today under the new ‘liberal’ non Taliban government. I feel even the intensely felt comments of the women who put these slides together show that the commentator still doesn’t get it. She makes the usual claim of ‘root causes’ of poverty and so on that causes women or more accurately, little girls even Maurice Chevalier would be ashamed to look at, to be sold into marriage.

I suppose thats understandable in that World Vision is seeking money to spread to solve these problems as they understand them. But the problem is Islam. If these girls where sent to a decent agriculture school and taught how to use genetically modified strains of food suited for these conditions poverty would be greatly reduced as they have everywhere these products are used. Islam holds no value for women as persons but great value as chattel. So no amount of money will improve the rights of women in Afghanistan or else we would see Saudi Women as having the best rights on Earth. Or at least having the right to drive a car. Or not be killed for being raped which is clearly a result of a property crime as opposed to a human one.

with a woman who is speaking on the condition of women’s rights in Afghanistan today. This woman makes the case for Petreaus. Send more troops. However you cant change the entire culture of a people and a nation no matter how much force you use unless at the very least, you actually try to. There is no way to improve the conditions for women and people in general in Afghanistan if you leave people thinking the way they always have and the way that caused these issues in the first place.

Then we have Mohamed El Masry, spokesmouth for the Canadian Islamic Confrence. It should come as no surprise that the CIC’s position is women have the same or better rights in Islamic nations than they do in the western world.

Here are a few choice moments from the above linked article:

“You’d think that the media in our so-called “liberal” society would pay more attention to concrete issues that genuinely compromise and demean the quality of life of Western women, who are statistically at greatest risk from the effects of poverty, pornography, domestic abuse, marginalization, or lack of educational opportunities in career-building fields (like maths and sciences).”

Of course it doesn’t take a minute to discover that in Islamic nations schools that teach women more than Koran are often burned to the ground. Should those women inside not be wearing a Hijab at the time, they may not be allowed to leave.

Not to mention that the whole paragraph is utter nonsense. Women in he western world have over fifty percent of the total wealth and much or most of that is from wealth ‘redistribution’ from divorces. While this itself is not a good thing and needs careful scrutiny as a process, it certainly makes minced pork out of ElMasri.

I am tempted to refute the CIC post point for point but playing ‘whack a mole’ is exhausting. Anyone who may feel tempted to believe any of the patent nonsense and abuse of logic in it may wish to investigate his claims and attempts to make the liberal democracies appear to be the problem. If they where, why are all the Muslims coming to western nations with a conspicuous absence of women from the west applying for Visa’s to live (certainly not work, thats not allowed in many Muslim nations) in Kandahar; Tehran; Islamabad or Riyadh.

Lastly i invite you to read a particularly excellent essay by Phyllis Chesler who did in fact move to Afghanistan. Well she thought she was visiting but it turned out she was moving as once she got there the first thing the Afghans did was take away her passport.

I think we would do well to ask ourselves exactly what is it we are doing in Afghanistan. Are we so so committed to our path of cultural egalitarianism we are willing to lose this war? Because thats the choice. Either be prepared to fight Islam the way we fought Nazism and Communism and other repugnant inhuman ideologies or be prepared to lose.

On December 21, 1961, when I returned from Afghanistan, I kissed the ground at New York City’s Idlewild Airport. I weighed 90 pounds and had hepatitis. Although I would soon become active in the American civil rights, anti-Vietnam war, and feminist movements, what I had learned in Kabul rendered me immune to the Third World romanticism that infected so many American radicals. As a young bride in Afghanistan, I was an eyewitness to just how badly women are treated in the Muslim world. I was mistreated, too, but I survived. My “Western” feminism was forged in that most beautiful and treacherous of countries.

In 1962, when I returned to Bard College, I tried to tell my classmates how important it was that America had so many free libraries, so many movie theatres, bookstores, universities, unveiled women, freedom of movement on the streets, freedom to leave our families of origin if we so chose, freedom from arranged marriages—and from polygamy, too. This meant that as imperfect as America may be, it was still the land of opportunity and of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

My friends, future journalists, artists, physicians, lawyers, and intellectuals, wanted only to hear fancy Hollywood fairy tales, not reality. They wanted to know how many servants I had and whether I ever met the king. I had no way of communicating the horror, and the truth. My American friends could not or did not want to understand. As with my young college friends so long ago, today’s leftists and progressives want to remain ignorant.

MOGADISHU, Somalia – A 13-year-old girl who said she had been raped was stoned to death in Somalia after being accused of adultery by Islamic militants, a human rights group said.

Dozens of men stoned Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow to death Oct. 27 in a stadium packed with 1,000 spectators in the southern port city of Kismayo, Amnesty International and Somali media reported, citing witnesses. The Islamic militia in charge of Kismayo had accused her of adultery after she reported that three men had raped her, the rights group said.

Initial local media reports said Duhulow was 23, but her father told Amnesty International she was 13. Some of the Somali journalists who first reported the killing later told Amnesty International that they had reported she was 23 based upon her physical appearance.

Ayone know what happened to Katoucha Niane?

A new reader to Vlad has made me aware of something that slipped my attention. Another great apostate who did her best to warn the west about Islam and fight against female genital excision was found dead in an area of Paris that was well known as a dumping ground for murder victims. If anyone knows what the autopsy results are, please do write in the comments. Perhaps this is another ‘Theo Van Gogh’ who should be remembered and who’s name should be shouted from the rooftops. All who die in the anti jihad are in fact true martyrs. Remember when a martyr was someone who actually died in pursuit of a cause as opposed to killed for one?
