7/7 Bomber Grave Vandalised

Thanks HP

From Durotrigan:

The BBC reports that the grave of one of the 7/7 bombers, Hasib Hussain, has been vandalised. Apparently, his was one of a number of graves in the ‘Muslim section’ of Cottingley Cemetery that was vandalised and according to the BBC ‘had racist graffiti scrawled on it.’ Whether it did or not cannot be objectively ascertained, for the BBC deems criticism of an ideology – Islam – to be ‘racist’.

Hasib Hussain does not deserve to be remembered with fondness or with any degree of respect; his name should rather be execrated. He, along with his fellow bombers, took the conscious decision to kill and maim innocent people for no reason at all, and as such, the vandalism of his grave specifically does not cause any disquiet to me. It would be better had he possessed no grave at all, and whatever had remained of his body had been burned and the ash dumped far out at sea. Putting this aside, it is of course unacceptable that the graves of other Muslims in Cottingley Cemetery were vandalised, and the fact of their vandalism will understandably be painful to their family and loved ones. Such an action cannot be condoned. However, only two graves – one of which was Hussain’s – were damaged. West Yorkshire Police state that:

Flemish Newscaster will not allow headscarves on TV anchors

Translated by Michael Laudahn:

from Telegraaph.nl:

[Flanders is the northern half of Belgium where dutch is spoken; the southern francophone half is Wallonia]

BRUSSELS: Flemish [state] broadcaster VRT will not permit female newsspeakers in scarves on tv. ‘A newsspeaker wearing a scarf is not possible and will not be allowed’, minister Freya van den Bossche said with determination, wednesday in parliament, on behalf of the flemish government.

The occasion was a remark by her minister colleague Ingrid Lieten (Media). She had said in an interview that she herself wouldn’t have a problem with a female VRT newsspeaker wearing a scarf. The public broadcaster said straightforward that such thing is in breach of the broadcaster’s neutrality and impartiality.

In the parliamentary debate, only the Groen party united behind van Lieten’s words.

WIN-WIN SITUATION: First it was [prime minister] Fredrik Reinfeldt, who suddenly decided to be frank on the issue of who are behind the majority of Sweden’s unemployment (for then, moreover, becoming even more clear with regard to the swedish immigration’s effect on unemployment and exclusion). Then it was Folkpartiet who felt forced to a reprise of its well-proven parade shtick to publish a debate article, where they present the SwedenDemocrates political proposals as their own, featuring Nyamko Sabuni as a multicultural alibi and bling-bling. The maybe most surprising initiative so far, however, came today, when a highly profiled SD [socialdemocrates] blogger expressly admitted that:

‘We social democrates cannot continue the political line represented by primarily Mona Sahlin, eagerly supported by Aftonbladet’s leading-article editors, as well as Expo.’

‘This puts a finger on an abscess of socialdemocracy. We do not have a good policy. That is, we do not have any comprehensible policy at all on this red hot subject.’

The cold-feet epidemic within sjuklövern [‘seven-leaf clover’, Sweden’s 7 system parties, since the autumn 2010 Riksdag elections confronted by 20 SD members = 5.7 %] starts to spread in a more and more uncontrolled fashion, after Sverigedemokraterna recently had received around 10 % in several independent opinion polls. One after another, the parties now send out their biggest vote trawlers towards the reality-based waters, against whose obscurity and ordinary visitors they normally use to be up in arms – in high volume and irreconcilably.

It’s time to stop using the word ‘Asians’

At last

The Telegraph:

n the wake of the Rochdale grooming convictions, it’s time to stop lumping Muslims, Sikhs and Hindus together as ‘Asians’, argues Hardeep Singh.

Is it time to stop using the word “Asian”? In recent weeks Britain’s Sikh and Hindu communities have complained angrily about the use of the misleading term in reporting of the Rochdale grooming convictions of men of Muslim Pakistani descent. Headlines like “Asian grooming – why we need to talk about sex crime”, “Child sex grooming: the Asian question”, and “Grooming offences committed mostly by Asian men, says ex-Barnardo’s chief” show the problem.

Obviously Sikhs and Hindus and other “Asian” non-Muslims, including Jains, Zoroastrians, Christians and Buddhists, don’t want to be associated with sexual grooming of vulnerable white girls. The vast majority of Muslims don’t want to either. The girls targeted in Rochdale, Derby and now in Luton are all non-Muslim. This is nothing new for British Hindus and Sikhs, who have complained about targeting of their girls for decades; Indians refer to the practice as “love-jihad”.

Judge Gerald Clifton, who sentenced the men in Rochdale, indicated they thought the victims were “worthless” and “beyond any respect”. He asserted that one of the motivations behind this was “they were not part of your community or religion”. This is not the first time that this has been suggested: at a Hindu Forum conference in 2007, the then Metropolitan Police commissioner, Sir Ian Blair, revealed how the police were working to clamp down on “aggressive conversions” of vulnerable girls. The following year, a blog site called “Sikh4aweek” which called on Muslim “soldiers” to “hunt” down Sikh university students during freshers week was forced to close following complaints to the police and Google. The common denominator: targeting of non-Muslim girls.

It is for the Muslim community and its leaders to decide what is behind the trend, and what to do about it; but it is time for politicians and the press to bear in mind that in the context of these sex crimes, as with violent extremism, female genital mutilation, forced marriage and honour killings, the vague term “Asian” serves no purpose. Worse, it besmirches entire swathes of Britons with roots in the Indian subcontinent. It’s encouraging to hear some brave voices filtering through the political minefield: Baroness Warsi recently hit out at the “small minority” of Pakistani men who see white girls as “fair game”; last year, Jack Straw braved criticism for his claim that some Pakistani men see white girls as “easy meat.” But the problem continues: commentators are unwilling to label the perpetrators “Muslim”, opting instead to hide behind the fudge of “Asian”.

Right-wingers offer $325 burka bounty to anyone who reports veiled women to Belgian police

Anyone want to come to Belgium and go burka spotting?

BRUSSELS — Belgian right-wingers have offered a bounty of €250 ($325) to anyone who reports a veiled woman to police, they said Tuesday after last week’s riots in Brussels over the arrest of a woman wearing a niqab.

Filip Dewinter, a senior figure in Vlaams Belang, a right-wing party, said the violence had made police apprehensive about enforcing the burka ban and the payment should put pressure on authorities to further enforce it.

“It’s a textile prison for the women who have to live under it,” he said.

Last week, protesters hurled bins and metal barriers at a police station after Stéphanie Djato, 24, was arrested for refusing to remove her face veil.

“They tried to enter by force, but they were not able to,” a spokesman for Brussels police told broadcaster RTL.

“So instead they threw metal barriers and bins.”

Ms. Djato, who was waiting at a streetcar stop, scuffled with officers after she refused to show them any ID. During the mêlée, a policewoman was injured.

Australian Senator wants Muslim immigration ban

Now this is at least, a sensible, peaceful, reasonable response to reality. It stuns me that there is only ONE person in the Western world capable of seeing the horrifyingly, blindingly, bleedingly obvious. Even Canada has done nothing to slow or stop or even suggest we should look at Islamic immigration.

Parents who force their children into marriage to face up to five years in jail in new crackdown

Daily Mail:

By James Millbank

PUBLISHED: 18:28 EST, 2 June 2012 | UPDATED: 18:29 EST, 2 June 2012

Families who coerce their children into a forced marriage could face up to five years in jail under legislation to be announced by the Prime Minister this week.

The new law will criminalise the practice, which occurs in some ethnic communities.

Forcing someone into wedlock would become a criminal offence in its own right under the proposals.

Breaching an existing forced marriage civil protection order – which prevents a young person being made to marry against their will – would also be a criminal act, punishable by five years in prison.

The SVP demands tougher measures against delinquent asylum seekers.

From www.20mins.Ch

The SVP demands tougher measures against delinquent asylum seekers. These are to be locked up in detention centres. Toni Brunner [SVP president] rejects criticsm expressed by human-rights activists.

these are already a fact elsewhere

A ‘light’ detention centre is not sufficient for Brunner: ‘In Switzerland we permit to be walked all over and don’t realise that elsewhere such detention centres are already a fact.’

The SVP wants to lock up delinquent asylum seekers in a national detention centre. About two weeks ahead of the asylum-law debate in the federal parliament, the SVP president made it clear that his party wants to achieve this solution.

‘The [swiss] federation must establish and finance a central, secure collecting point’, Brunner said in an interview with ‘Zentralschweiz am Sonntag’. This detention centre is supposed to be the destination for those asylum seekers who don’t respect the laws: ‘Starting with drug dealing, via bodily attacks, to burglary.

The SVP president assumes that several hundred persons will have to be accomodated in the camp. In case of emergency, a second camp will be needed.

The SVP’s proposal will be discussed in parliament probably on 13 june. Then, the asylum law revision is on the agenda. Likewise, the parliament’s national-political commission [Staatspolitische Kommission, SPK] wants to accomodate unruly and delinquent asylum seekers in separate centres.

A majority of the commission pleaded for a corresponding supplement to the asylum law. The SPK, however, does not want to lock up the asylum seekers, but assign them a radius around the centres.

No ‘light’ detention centre

Toni Brunner considers this proposal insufficient. ‘Light detention centres’ are not sufficient for the SVP, says he. There must be a fence around the centre: ‘The important thing is that those having lost their chance for asylum in Switzerland no longer can enter and leave at discretion.’

Concerns expressed by human-rights activists are not being shared by Brunner: ‘In Switzerland we permit to be walked all over and don’t realise that elsewhere such detention centres are already a fact.’ Fx Greece disposes of such institutions, and Holland has an asylum procedure in locked centres.

For the improvement of the asylum system, also justice minister Simonetta Sommaruga [leftist] gets her bearings from Holland, as she said last september: New centres are necessary where procedures can be combined locally and timewise. But these centres are not detention centres, emphasised the justice minister at that time.

EKR president contradicts Brunner

Also Martine Brunschwig Graf, president of the Eidgenössische Kommission gegen Rassismus (EKR) [federal commission against racism – would you have believed such a thing exists in Switzerland!?] rejects detention centres for asylum seekers. ‘A detention centre won’t lead to anything’, told the Geneva ex-MP (FDP [centrist party]) the NZZ am Sonntag during an interview. According to her it is much more important to accelerate the asylum procedure and swiftly return to their home countries those asylum seekers rejected.

Brunschwig Graf refuses also the proposal to generally give asylum seekers only emergency aid [nothilfe], instead of social welfare [nothilfe: financial and material aid for rejected asylum seekers, who are not eligible for social welfare]: ‘This would be counter-productive: Through social welfare, also job programmes are implemented, in a way that asyum seekers are being occupied.’

Last week, the Bundesamt [federal office] für Migration had publised a short expertise assessing general emergency aid for asylum seekers as legally justifiable. In the framework of the asylum law debate, parliament will also decide on the FDP proposal. An SPK majority refuses it.

Controversial emergency aid

For SVP president Brunner, the abolition of social welfare for asylum seekers is necessary in order to make Switzerland as unattractive as possible as an asylum destination, as he said. ‘Emergency aid sounds worse than it is’, he countered criticism expressed by Brunschwig Graf and the left wing.

Next to the abolition of social welfare for asylum seekers, the SVP will also go in for additional tightenings in the asylum system. Part of this will be the limitation of the ‘refugee’ term.

‘Not only need we be tougher all over the place. We also need to limit appeal options, create more incentives to shorten the asylum procedure, and finally enforce the law already in existence’, demanded Brunner.

Large group of Sikhs gather to protest the rape of a Sikh girl by a Muslim in England. EDL march with them

Now if the Christian indigenous British population stood together like this each time one of their own was abused in like manner, I bet the officials would take a much different line on it than they do.

This link from the Telegraph has a lot more info:

H/T Durotrigan for this information and video:

News is breaking of a Sikh protest in Luton, apparently prompted by the release of a man accused of sexually assaulting a Sikh girl. Given that Stephen Lennon of the EDL has stated that they will be joining the protest, the assumption must be that the alleged perpetrator of the assault was from a Muslim background. Some 250 Sikhs are reported as having gathered to protest outside of Luton Police Station. One Tweet also claims that some roads in the town have also been blocked off as a consequence. According to a brief report on the East Anglia EDL Division page, the man charged with the assault is of Pakistani origin. A report on a Sikh forum claims that the girl was dragged into some woodland and raped. The BBC reports that the alleged assault took place on Monday, and that a sit-down protest is taking place outside of Luton’s Buxton Road police station. Although it mentioned “members of the Sikh community”, the report contained no reference to the EDL.

‘We demonstrate our presence’ / Vigilante group watching asylum seekers

Of course, what we see here is 100% predictable when a government stops representing the people of the area and start representing an ideology which no one wanted. The only reason it is not much more wide spread, is that law enforcement tends to be much more aggressive with competing agencies than they are with actual threats to the public safety and property.

In two St Gallen [swiss canton] townships, a group of annoyed citizens follows every step asylum seekers take. Now the authorities react.

Hans Thoma at the vigilante group's foundation meeting

‘Sexual harassment, vandalism, noise and drug dealing are almost a daily routine’, laments Hans Thoma about asylum seekers of the Landegg asylum centre at Eggersriet SG [St Gallen] in ‘Reporter’, SF [swiss state tv] programme. That is why he has formed a kind of vigilante group, together with a neighbouring village. ‘We demonstrate our presence, we document through photos the asylum seekers’ incorrect behaviour, and we report it to police’, according to Thoma.

Now, the canton has reacted: On monday, Jürg Wernli, director of the Appenzell-Ausserrhoden [canton next to St Gallen, both with interlaced borders] Interior and Cultural Department, announced first measures – more positions at the asylum centre, additional busses for asylum seekers and security services at train stations. These and more measures are to be implemented, in the interest of the neighbours of the asylum centre – despite the ‘palpable additional costs for the canton’, according to Wernli. Thoma considers this a ‘success of our engagement’.

However, Stella Jegher at Amnesty International warns: ‘Such action like the one shown by the Thoma group could tilt towards discrimination, even racism, if this leads to a kind of prejudgement of certain groups.’

Dangerous vigilante justice

Members of the ‘Informationsrunde Wienacht-Tobel/Schwendi bei [near] Heiden’ follow asylum seekers living in Wienacht AR [Appenzell-Ausserrhoden canton] (see text). This is not the only kind of a vigilante group in Switzerland: According to the ‘Zürcher Oberländer’ [paper], in the Zurich Oberland a patrol service intervenes against burglars. In Geneva, inhabitants chased tricky conmen, of which violent conflicts resulted. That is why Beat Flach, jurist and national GLP [Green-Liberal Party] MoP warns of vigilante justice: ‘Simply ‘demonstrating presence’ is at the legal borderline, the danger for escalation is great.’

The Crackdown on the European Counterjihad

By Fjordman:

Front Page Magazine

One of the experts on contemporary Islamophobia subpoenaed in the trial against Anders Behring Breivik is the Norwegian writer Øyvind Strømmen. Prior to this case he was virtually unknown, but he has enjoyed a tremendous career boost thanks to Breivik’s evil acts, and is now hailed as a “leading expert” on the Counterjihad, a claim which triggers roars of laughter from those who actually know this movement. A lucky opportunist, Strømmen sells his books by labeling me a dangerous “Fascist.” He says very little about real problems caused by mass immigration to Western countries, but a great deal about how evil any opposition to mass immigration is.

Strømmen also had an article published in the prestigious American magazine Foreign Affairs, a journal published by an influential foreign-policy think tank, the Council on Foreign Relations. The CFR usually supports the line that Islam is not a problem in itself, only certain “militant Islamists.” Writing there about what he termed “violent Counter-Jihadism,” which he linked to Breivik’s mass murder, Strømmen concluded that “It is crucial that law-enforcement authorities and intelligence agencies better understand the true relationship between the words and ideas of Internet-based counter-jihadists and the real-world violence they seem to have inspired.”
