AL-QAEDA fanatics are plotting a deadly cyanide poison attack on the London Olympics, a Sun investigation has found.

Extremists on a website with links to the terror group have posted detailed instructions on how to cause carnage at this summer’s Games.

The chilling online plot was uncovered as two convicted al-Qaeda terrorists were released early from jail and put back on the streets ahead of the Olympics.

And the specific nature of the “cyanide slaughter” web posts suggest they should be taken seriously by the security services.

An extremist who called himself Abu Hija Ansari said the poison should be mixed with a handcream that would enable it to be absorbed through the skin.

He wrote in Arabic: “Through skin: 1 — cyanide, 2 — skin cream. Mix the ingredients. The skin cream will open the pores in the skin and speed up the absorption and effectiveness of the poison.”

French Shooting Suspect Was on U.S. No-Fly List

WASHINGTON—The gunman suspected in a string of shootings in southern France was on the U.S.’s no-fly list as a suspected terrorist, according to people familiar with the matter.

Two people familiar with the case said Mohammed Merah was on the list because in 2010 he had been in custody in Afghanistan, then sent back to France. Counterterrorism officials at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which manages the U.S. no-fly list, also had collected information on Mr. Merah before the recent shootings in France, including the 2010 encounter, officials said.

The circumstances of his apprehension, detention and return to France weren’t entirely clear. U.S. military officials said they don’t have a record of his being in American custody while in Afghanistan.

Toulouse Gunman’s Link to UK Extremists

By Peter Neumann, Alexander Hitchens, and Scott Kleinmann

News reports today have linked the Toulouse gunman responsible for the murders of seven people, now identified as French citizen Mohammed Merah, to a recently banned French extremist group with connections to Britain.

Named Forsane Alizza (FA – the Knights of Pride), the group bears many similarities to the UK-based al-Muhajiroun/Islam4UK network.

Who are Forsane Alizza?

FA is led by a young French Muslim called Mohamed Achamlane, and has between 30 and 100 official members. However, it is not a formally structured organisation, and likely has many more sympathisers. On the internet, the group can count on nearly 2,000 supporters on Facebook and 400 followers on Twitter.

The group appears to be part of a loosely connected European network of extremist Islamists who share the same ideology and use similar tactics. Each group often has a number of names, one of which typically begins with the label ‘Sharia4’ followed by the country, such as ‘UK’, Belgium, or ‘France’. Among the names used by FA is ‘Sharia4France’.

A self-confessed Al Qaeda terrorist thought to have murdered seven people across south west France over the past two weeks was going to post footage of his crimes online today, he claimed.

Mohammed Mera, 24, told news channel France 24’s editor Ebba Kalondo at 1am this morning he had ‘filmed everything’ with a small video camera and ‘intended to put the videos online’.

But just two hours later more than 300 armed police dramatically raided his Toulouse home – where three officers were injured – and he is now cornered and under siege.

He has been described as ‘armed and dangerous’ with a cache including an Uzi machine gun and Kalashnikov assault rifle, with police saying he is likely to kill again.

US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta is feared to have been the target of a suicide attack at Camp Bastion today.

A vehicle got on to the runway and burst into flames as Mr Panetta’s plane landed in Afghanistan this morning.

The suspected attack also hurt a British squaddie but the extent of the injuries are currently unknown.

The drama unfolded just hours ago on the sprawling base — Britain’s main outpost in the warzone.

Defence supremo Mr Panetta flew into Afghanistan today to quell fears after a US soldier went on the rampage killing 16 innocent Afghans.

But as his plane was landing a vehicle appeared on the runway and subsequently caught fire.

Sources at the scene claim it was a suicide attack — but those allegations have not yet been officially confirmed.

An individual inside the vehicle is receiving medical care for burns, sources say.

In which case, no cause for alarm.

Armed police talked down a veiled woman who had been suspected of being a bomber today after a chilling eight-hour stand-off in a quiet seaside town.

Officers took aim at her shortly after 11am having received a tip-off claiming she could have an explosive device in her bag.

A 40-year-old woman was then arrested in connection with the incident around 7.30pm under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act.

The drama unfolded at the seafront in Saltburn, Teesside. Army bomb disposal experts were called in immediately.

It followed information received by Cleveland Police about the woman’s conduct. The area was cordoned off.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a white woman wearing a dress with a veil sitting on a bench surrounded by armed police, who were alerted shortly after 11am. At 6.40pm, negotiations with her were still taking place.

Superintendent Ciaron Irvine said: ‘This was a fairly lengthy incident with a successful outcome.’

He said the matter had been brought to a safe conclusion. Officers also thanked residents for their patience and co-operation. Residents had said they believe it was a woman local to the area.

A bomb disposal team was sent to the scene and a police helicopter scrambled.

It is understood that a bag was examined by bomb disposal experts and at one point the woman was face down on the ground as officers covered her with their weapons.

Some locals claimed the woman had been to a hardware store in the town earlier in the day and purchased items.

A Muslim cleric who was deported from the UK is still preaching hate-filled sermons to his British followers from his sun-soaked exile.

Abdullah el-Faisal, who has ties to notorious preachers Abu Hamza and Abu Qatada, broadcasts his extremist rants live from Jamaica over the internet six nights a week.

The 48-year-old, who was deported from Britain after serving a seven-year-sentence for soliciting murder, is thought to be recruiting fanatics who hide behind code names.

His vile speeches urge the establishment of a network of secret mosques where extremist views can be voiced and spread.

His rants from his Caribbean homeland, visited last week by Prince Harry, have now triggered demands for intervention by Foreign Secretary William Hague.
