Israelis: Iran Behind Bangkok Bombings, ‘Coordinated Attacks’ Around the World

A spokesman for Israel’s foreign ministry has said there is no sign yet that Moradi’s alleged targets were Jewish or Israel. Defense Minister Ehud Barak, however, placed the blame on the Iranian government. “The attempted terror attack in Thailand proves once again that Iran and its proxies continue to operate in the ways of terror and the latest attacks are an example of that,” said Barak
According to Israeli records, one of the most serious of the coordinated wave of attacks came in January, when three Azerbaijani nationals were intercepted before they could attack Israeli ambassador Michael Lotem and a rabbi and a woman at the Chabad center in Baku, the capital. In the 2008 Mumbai attack, terrorists invaded the Chabad center in Mumbai and killed the rabbi, his wife and four hostages.

A bungling Iranian bomber blew off his own legs when he hurled a grenade at Thai police outside a Bangkok school – which bounced off a tree and then exploded at his feet.
It came after he had blown up his own home and then hurled a grenade at a taxi driver who would not accept him as a passenger, the Bangkok Post reports.
Police allegedly found an Iranian ID card in a satchel close to the blast in the Thai capital, and unconfirmed reports suggest he is called Saeid Moradi.
Four people, three men and one woman, were injured in the explosions which come the day after Israeli diplomats were targeted in simultaneous car bombings, also believed to have been carried out by Iran.
It is not yet known if yesterday’s and today’s attacks are linked – but Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said: ‘We can’t rule out any possibility.’

More explosives were found at Moradi’s house, in the Ekamai area of central Bangkok, which police say he had been renting with two other unidentified foreigners.
He is believed to have arrived in Bangkok, from the southern Thai resort of Phuket, on February 8.
Thailand has rarely been a target for foreign terrorists, although a domestic Muslim insurgency in the country’s south has involved bombings of civilian targets.

Thai police find large cache of bomb-making materials

Thai police have detained a suspect with alleged links to Hezbollah.Police in Thailand say they have found a large supply of materials for making bombs, following the detention of a suspect with alleged links to Hezbollah.
The suspect led police to a building containing more than 300 boxes of fertiliser and ammonium nitrate.
The raid follows the terror alert issued by the US and Israel warning citizens to avoid tourist sites.
Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said that the situation was under control.
The suspect, who was detained last week, is said to be a Lebanese man with a Swedish passport.
Police say the man has links to Hezbollah, a Lebanon-based Shia Islamist movement backed by Syria and Iran that the US considers to be a terrorist organisation.
A second suspect is also believed to have left Thailand.
A police spokesman told local media that the chemicals were going to be shipped out of Thailand for use in an unspecified third country.
The US embassy still has not lifted the warning it issued on Friday stating that Americans should “exercise caution when visiting public areas where large groups of Western tourists gather”.

Hundreds of Muslims protest Buddhist school

Hundreds of Muslims have protested outside a Buddhist school in Bangkok, Thailand. The organization named Muslims for Peace is upset at Wat Nonjok secondary school for its refusal to allow a Muslim student to wear the hijab.
The Muslim organization claims that several teachers have refused to teach the 18 year-old student or to allow her to enter the school building, because of hijab.
Muslims for Peace have called on Thailand’s Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to intervene.

BANGKOK — Thai police say they have defused six homemade bombs found in Bangkok and arrested one suspect.
Police say they found the bombs early Friday in three locations in eastern Bangkok after they followed the suspect before arresting him.

PATTANI, Thailand (AP) — Police say suspected Muslim insurgents in southern Thailand killed six civilians in a bomb attack on their vehicle in the south.
Police investigator Heraman Chedi says the explosion occurred Wednesday in Narathiwat’s Ra-ngae district, and attackers raked the vehicle with machine-gunfire afterward.
Heraman says the victims were Buddhist hunters headed to a nearby forest, and one survived and was taken to a local hospital.
A rescue worker who came later to the scene was also injured when he stepped on land mine.
Narathiwat, Yala, Pattani and parts of Songkla provinces are the only Muslim-dominated areas in predominantly Buddhist Thailand. Nearly 5,000 people have been killed since an Islamist insurgency erupted in 2004.
Bombs rock Thailand
A series of bomb explosions rocked Yala town at at least seven different spots on Tuesday evening, inflicting a large number of casualties, reports said.
The reports said the bombs started to explode one after another at 6.40pm.
One of the bombs went off near Yala Park View hotel on Ruam Mit road in the Yala municipality.
The explosions also destroyed many houses, shops and vehicles, putting the whole of Yala town was in the state of chaos.
A television report said at least one people was believed to have been killed and more than 30 wounded.
Men dressed as women for radically different purposes.

On Sunday evening an unknown number of gunmen dressed as women, travelling in three pick-up trucks, opened fire on a checkpoint in the main town of Narathiwat province killing two rangers.
Shortly afterwards a bomb exploded at a nearby supermarket, followed by a second bomb at another supermarket about 300 metres (yards) away, causing fires that spread through shophouses and took three hours to extinguish.
Police said they found two charred bodies of the male owner and a female teacher in the first shop, while a young boy and his parents were found dead in the second.
Another seven people suffered burns in the attacks, which happened within the space of half an hour — the latest in a series of increasingly brazen attacks by the shadowy militants.

Then, here in Montreal, we see some men dressed in Burkas to make a point about anti-Israel protests. These men however, are trying to save lives. Notice how one of the signs says that Israel is a refuge for gay Arabs from the rest of the Middle East. If I get a chance, I will try and redo this video with English subtitles later tonight. This perspective of this event was clearly filmed by someone hostile to their non-anti-Israel point of view. Easy to find in Montreal I’m afraid.
